so after reports that the Bucks are going to be super aggressive trying to build a contender ready to go this year around Giannis after reports that the Bucks are looking to make a package they’re working out guys that are expected to go into the lottery they might try and trade up the Bucks stand on Pat and use their only pick in the draft the 47th pick to take Boole Marovich and he will be stashed out in Europe for another year not going to be coming to the NBA and so what does a guy like me think what do I think what do guys like me think about this guys like me I feel like we feel like the Bucks are in a catast catastrophic situation where all they had was the 47th pick but if just given the 47th pick in the draft I like the selection matter of fact I like it a whole lot i think that Johnny Horse year after year after staking year he only ever drafts guys that have long arms and jump high and that’s where you get DJ Wilson Andre Jackson Barjon Bochamp Bust Bust Sticky Bust not that Andre Jackson is definitely a bust yet and he’s a psych he can’t be a bus but I’m just saying those are all the archetypes and for the most part that brother Johnny he’s been drafting busts and right here you’re getting a different type of player because with the guys that have long arms and jump high you’re basically saying you have the you have uh physical measurements but now all we have to do is get you to be good at basketball but with Marovich from what I’m seeing is this brother knows how to sneak and play he knows how to fill up the stat sheet he knows how to play efficient he plays in real European leagues like Euro League that’s he’s not like just playing in some like dump dumpster or something you know he’s not diving around in the dump taking shots he’s playing in a real European league and he’s filling up the stat sheet you know 147 almost three assists a couple steals and blocks you look at his uh 54 from the field 38 from three um 76% from the line so what do they need him to develop they just uh essentially the basic wor worry is he might be like the skinniest player like ever he’s almost like uh what’s his name pokushevki for the Thunder is like my thinking of him um Po Kushvki was a guy that was like oh he’s a 6’9 point guard but he was just insanely skinny but the thing is with Marovich it’s not just like a it’s not like a hypothetical thing like he is succeeding at basketball in the league that he’s been in but they’re just thinking that he’ll need another year to beat an NBA body because he’s 6′ 11 and I think like 200 pounds which is insanely light and yeah probably especially with you know when you look at today’s NBA with you know versatile wings you know the Lou Dorts the Nemarts I mean those are wings but like you kind of want guys that got some in them so yeah he’s not ready to go right now but what do you think is easier to develop especially if you’re going to have to take a flawed player 46 pick in the draft that player is going to be flawed would you rather a guy that he could jump out the gym he’s got long arms but he’s got to learn how to shoot a basketball how to make the open pass how to run transition like he needs to like kind of learn how to play basketball or a guy that oh he shoots well from three he uh shoots well inside the the line he gets to the free throw line he gets some steals he gets some blocks he can pass the ball well but he’s just not an NBA ready body yet and he needs to hit the weight room i think that it’s a lot easier to just hit the stinking weight room than it is to learn all those basketball skills so I love this pick but that’s with it being realistic expectations at the 47th pick in the draft at the 47th pick in the draft realistically you’re talking about maybe like a 10 to 15% chance that that player hits and I look at Marovic and I’m like “Okay I see some real talent in there.” And um you know from the the highlights I’ve seen the stats that he’s put up and the situation he’s been in uh yeah I think that there’s better than a 10 to 15% chance that he hits i’m not saying like “Oh this guy’s definitely going to be this that or the other.” But I think that with where you’re seeing in the draft 6’1 11 with skill a year to develop I think that’s good i think that’s a really good pick for John Horse actually but um there’s going to be the criticism of we need guys right now you’re drafting a player to stash well I think that for one you mean you never know they could get traded asset whatever but also um I think yeah the Bucks want to win now but did you really think at again I’m I’m talking about this picking 47 if the Bucks are picking 47 you really think that it’s a real realistic expectation to be like we need to contend you need to draft somebody 47th that’s going to help us contend that’s almost never going to be a guy that you could get 47th in a draft that’s going to help you to contend year one you know so who cares if he’s stashed year one that’s honestly that’s fine that’s honestly it’s a good thing let him get real minutes rather than hit him on the end of Doc Rivers’s bench i think that’s actually a really good thing and then maybe force Doc Rivers to play young guys that he just hasn’t given the chance to because you know he would have give Marovic a chance anyway so maybe force him a little bit more to say Tyler Smith going into year two see see what he’s got andre Jackson let’s run him back some minutes you know there are some young pieces even Chris Livingston you could give a chance to this year like there are some guys that have some things that you could like ryan Rollins still there that are young it’s not like the Bucks have no young talent they needed to get a young talent because they have nobody that’s young they do have young players it’s just you know underwhelming they haven’t gotten the minutes but you know Ryan Rollins Tyler Smith Andre Jackson Chris Livingston you know AJ Green still sort of kind of young not really like there there’s still some youth there with the Bucks so for this pick I think again I’m not happy so far that the Bucks really haven’t done much but I’m not actually gonna freak out about it too much because I’d rather them do nothing and be patient and wait to trade Koozma at a time where you feel like it’s a little bit easier to do so where he’s not coming off one of the worst playoffs ever played and his contract has less time on it and Dame’s closer to being recovered so um or either or you’re off of Dame’s contract so you’re more ready to contend um I think actually right now is actually a good time to be patient as much as Bucks fans don’t like it um I think realistically yeah I think it’s better to be patient than to get yourself into a deeper hole and I think that this is a good move to make with where the Bucks are at right now um although it’s not probably really going to excite anybody i think that this is a good solid just smart move even though it’s not going to go crazy for everybody and it might not end up being anything but you should expect the 47th pick is going to be nothing and just that you get a 6′ 11 player with talent in there I think that there’s maybe not reason to be like super excited but like reason to say “Okay the organization did something that makes some sense.”
