Who is Noah Essengue, and What Does He Bring to the Bulls?
so now that the first round of the NBA draft is in the books we also got to hear from Bulls GM Mark Everly in a rare appearance from him after the first round had concluded in a press conference and now that the dust is settled a bit in terms of all the trades and amount of movement we saw on draft night even though I’m sure we’ll see a lot more of that tonight when things get started with the second round but for the time being the Bulls have their guy the player they selected with the 12th overall pick and Noah Sen the French player who plays professionally overseas in Germany a player with a ton of upside a big swing with a high risk high reward outcome but who is Noah Aseni exactly and how does he fit with the Bulls team and their future outlook well let’s talk about it so what’s going on everyone you’re listening to Bulls Central here hope you’re all doing well by the way if you’re new to the channel for all of you as fans from overseas if you’re new here welcome be sure to subscribe if you like the type of content as I’ll be covering this team all season long and I would actually love to hear your thoughts on a Sen as well as for those that have been following him since he was a very young kid now as I’m sure most of you know by now Noah Sen is actually the second youngest prospect in this draft cooper Flag being the only draft prospect younger than him and just by a few days he won’t be turning 19 until December very rare these days given the one-year removed from high school rule the NBA implemented years ago to see a prospect come into the NBA still at the age of 18 but Asen’s path to where he is now and playing professional basketball overseas is an interesting one this was a kid who began playing basketball competitively at a very young age playing for a youth development league as a pre-teen yes not even a teenager yet right away he quickly separated himself from his peers and being a unique highly skilled and athletic talent he was so good in fact that he signed with his first professional team at the age of 14 in 2021 14 years old playing professional basketball with grown men it kind of reminds you of guys like Ricky Rubio or Luca Donuch who started playing professional basketball before they even hit puberty and then most recently he started playing basketball professionally in Germany for the BBL and was a standout for his team at the Orange Academy now to me the fact that this kid was able to play professional basketball and still be so productive at such a young age despite his slender frame and inability to be physical with grown adults to me says a lot and just how skilled he is and the potential upside of him blossoming into a star player with the right tools and development around him now I’ll speak to the pros and cons of Seni’s game and how he fits with the Bulls but the biggest thing to me is that you have to understand this is a raw player this is a project player who isn’t going to immediately be impactful come this upcoming season this isn’t going to be a guy that is vying for rookie of the year the Bulls especially with Billy Donovan still sitting as head coach are going to take things slow have him ease in and adapt into the pace and grind of an NBA season mark Eversley mentioned in his press conference that Asen is going to have an onc court and off-c court development plan especially considering he’s going to be playing and living in a new country a new environment which is a challenge in of itself when you’re experiencing a bit of culture shock but anyway my point in all this is as Bulls fans our expectations should be tempered in the short term for what we expect to see from this kid this is likely a player that is going to be two to three years out from really breaking out and being a big factor for this team going forward now let’s start with some of the positives the strengths for a Senate first and foremost insanely athletic like you’re talking about a player that is going to be another highlight reel in due time similar to what we’ve seen from Modis Buselis but aside from his athleticism he’s a very mobile big i think I said it before I really don’t think of him like a big but more a wing because he plays with such pace and movement and a high motor to get to the basket he’s a big-time hustler you guys know I love hustle players that will give it their all when they’re on the court he’s got great instincts in moving in transition and knowing where he needs to be he’s great in the open court and fits the style of play the Bulls are wanting to employ fast-paced uptempo creating space and heavy ball movement whereas Sing has thrived in most of his young career has been in a fast-paced uptempo offensive system that enables him to operate in the paint and finish around the basket that’s also another thing he’s been great at is his touch and finishing ability around the basket as well as his offensive rebounding for second chance points something the Bulls have struggled with especially last season he’s a very underrated defender in my opinion i mean he can defend multiple positions he can defend on the ball on the perimeter but also has great awareness off the ball in the paint to come out of nowhere and contest shots at the rim the Bulls could certainly use all the rim protection they can get and he’s proven early on that he’s capable of doing that with his length and wingspan to still deter shots even if he’s beat off the dribble by using his length to block shots from behind him now as far as some of the downsides and I won’t even call them downsides but areas of improvement anyway he’s not that great in the half court which maybe isn’t that much of an issue since the Bulls are looking to play fast and move in transition he’s not a great shooter that’s especially the case from deep he does take threes it’s not like he’s one of these bigs that just never shoots it from deep now he can shoot threes when needed but just doesn’t shoot at a good clip and is pretty inconsistent with his shot that’s why I think the Bulls must invest in a shooting coach since they fired Peter Patton for some unexplicable reason but whatever we won’t rehash that now also he’s not the best free throw shooter as well which is never good in lateg game situations but again hopefully he’ll continue to work on his shot put in the work to be able to develop it and make everyone forget that this was even one of his weaknesses coming into the draft similar to Modus who had big question marks around his shooting and ended up looking just fine in his rookie year the other thing that needs to be worked out on is his frame like if he wants to meet the same level of physicality as other bigs in this league he has to build and develop his body put on some more weight more muscle not so much that it takes away from his athleticism but enough that he can keep up with players in the NBA and not be bullied around on defense like as solid as his defense has been in playing overseas he’s going to have to take his strength to the next level so he’s not simply overpowered in the paint by his opponents then of course another area that in my opinion is probably more of a nice to have than a need to have and that’s mainly because of who he’s going to be playing with but most of his offense comes in the form of plays being assisted to him in the pick and roll he’s not the best at creating his own shot and generating offense that way which again maybe isn’t as much of an issue when you’re playing with a guy like Giddy who has great court vision and is going to be able to find you the ball in the open court like the benefit the Bulls have right now is they don’t necessarily need more shot creators because they have one of the better passers in the game who is going to be that floor general to help generate offense now when it comes to the pick in general and how I’m sort of grading this I actually like the selection a lot i mean he wasn’t my first choice i would have preferred a guy like Kaman Malawatch or Colin Murray Boils but given those guys were no longer on the board and seeing who else was available at number 12 I think the Bulls made the right choice in taking the best fitting prospect for them but not even just the best fit but the biggest swing for upside for the future like I mentioned this in my initial reaction video and some people laughed about it but this is a type of player that could be similar in what we saw from a player like Giannis and how he developed over time in the NBA a young prospect slender in frame very raw a lot of holes to his game when he first came into the NBA but ultimately rounded out his skills in being one of the best two-way players in the game and a superstar in this league i’m not saying as going to be Giannis and even at his highest ceiling it’s probably a stretch i’m more so just saying this is one of those late lottery big swings that could have a massive payoff it’s a high-risisk highreward scenario because there is a possibility that Asen could ultimately not amount to much in this league and be a busted pick like if he doesn’t bulken up or work on his shot or improve his overall ball handling then yeah he’s going to struggle in this league but given his age his versatility the tools he currently has and also how much he’s developed as a player since he first started playing professionally this is a pick that is worth the potential risk of it not working out because the upside is so much higher that ceiling is so much higher than the floor so yeah man I’m excited about this guy i’m excited to see him paired alongside Modis as the front court for the future for the Bulls the Bulls now have some great front court lengthy players that fit well with Josh Giddy who thrives having athletic big men that can get downhill and also be a lob threat so yes even though I’m not always in agreement with the Bulls and their decisions I think this was a good pick on their end that will pay off in the long run i would love to hear what you guys think though what are some of the things you are most excited to see about Noah Sen let me know in the comments as always be sure to subscribe and I will see you in the next one

We should have made a bold pick and drafted will Riley out of Illinois with this pick. Time will tell if heās the future of Canadian basketball Iām the nba⦠from what Iāve seen that guy has some of the best potential in this draft. Was the best player in Canada coming out of hs
Carter Bryant was right there
āGreat upsideā gives me ptsd about pwill
Iām happy with the pack tbh but at the same time I really wanted to draft a defensive center and try and trade vuc to GS for Kuminga. Also I donāt understand trading down to 55 from 45???? Like what is going on with that
Giannis was a raw talent, skinny kid picked around the same spot in the draft. I can dream
Been disassociated with this team since the rose era the incompetence of the team was just too much for me but Iām trying to come back after all these years this channel is awesome for that so thank you š between this pick and buzelis the bulls are finally getting some players that have real upside like to see that
Noa is a wonderful pick at 12 by AKME
Why trade down from 40's to 55…there are prospects like tyresse procter and Kobe bare but wit there's more two 7 foot centers who both shoot at or above 30% from deep they were projected first rounders still available but what do we do just jump out to were anyone that late is a flyer and with the time it could take Noah to get strong enough to play pf in the NBA I'm super underwhelmed as of right now with the lack of moves to help this team now I'm all for keeping ur own picks its just player development is without a doubt going to be he biggest factor in his career its something the bulls have been bad at for a long time and even when someone come to town lighting a fire under the cores ass and got the shooting numbers so much better but he gets fired and eversley Donavan and The worst front man in the business got the job for drafting. Joker but jokers development made him thus guy has left us in a state of mediocre play for a decaade!
He seems like a Jaden McDaniel type prospect. If he gains weight canāt legit guard 1-4 and make shots when open or score in transition. Those are star players imo
People disagree with me, but he is an Obi Toppin. He has the dunking right now. He will eventually add a 3pt shot. The bulls are really building a baby Indiana team.
We blew it couldāve had Derik Queen smh
I believe UPSIDE was used to describe Patrick Williams š
Shouldāve went for that Pelicans offer the Hawks got. Wouldāve been happy with the pick if that trade never happened but seeing that was out there was just another AK move. No balls. No fucking balls
2031 nba finals. WEMBY vs NEMBY (Noa and Matas)
I see anthony Davis
Weāre building with height and athleticism šŖš¾ now we just need to fire the coach and get us a center and a reliable shooter
I like this so much over a pick like PWill. This is not a guy with 1 year of college bench experience. He's a seasoned pro.
What a waste! Bulls are a joke unfortunately! Havenāt been able to watch in years! I will check back in a few years probably the same story
Answer: He is nobody, mand bring nothing to the table.
When they say upside, then I know heās trash
I like him thank god not another point guard we needed a big man and athletic šŖš½
I'm not trying to HATE ON the player, but I've said this a MILLION TIMES BEFORE:
Since Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Phil Jackson, etc, and maybe the exception of some of "THE DERRICK ROSE YEARS" "BEFORE" he got "HURT" –
THE BULLS ARE JUST CIRCLING THE DRAIN.
Bringing in one "TOO YOUNG" LOTTERY PICK AFTER ANOTHER – YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR, with very few exceptions.
Most of them "WASH OUT", then the Bulls WASH and REPEAT.
I'VE SAID IT MANY TIMES BEFORE:
HOW MANY TEAMS "WIN" WITH A BUNCH OF 18 and 19 yr. OLD LOTTERY PICKS?
"BEFORE" they really develop, the Bulls have moved off most of them -.and DRAFTED ANOTHER ONE.
Here it is, the end of the 2025 NBA DRAFT and you can already start "SCOUTING OUT" 2026 18 and 19 yr. old, etc NBA LOTTERY PICKS for the Bulls – AGAIN.
THE REALLY, REALLY SAD PART:
With the ownership and AKME, I personally don't see an END IN SIGHT.
