record we have a trade to announce as part of a deal to be finalized later the Houston Rockets are trading to the Phoenix Suns yeah but this is a this pick is the Grizzlies the 10th pick okay so this is the Grizzlies pick this is the Grizzly pick they traded NBA draft the Portland Trailblazers select Cedric Coward bang let’s go boy let’s go our guy our guy Cedric Cedric Coward for those who don’t know was the most efficient player in the six games that he played at Washington State that I’ve ever seen and perhaps the best game sample size yeah the best six game sample size um I’ve said it I’ve said it multiple times in multiple videos cedric Coward I was going to go back and and and look at his stats from Eastern Washington and Washington State and kind of compare them they are basically exactly the same which is incredible so uh 70% of the rim in the half court over the last 38 games 75% of the rim over the last 38 games 30 and 38 and 12 inch vertical uh plus 8 inch wingspan 72 wingspan yeah plus 8 in wingspan um like he is a guy that’s like a do it all not doesn’t really have like a single elite skill but I think that he could develop in a multiple ways i mean I have a comp here i have Mau Bridges as a as a player as a comp um I think he is has the possibility to be an offball rim protector i think he has the possibility to be a uh offensive hub it’s just where are you going to go with him and I I love this i love him as a player yeah um I I see him like you said there’s a lot of ways it could go i see him as an offball player more so um primarily I should say yeah you can find out what got traded for yeah I’m looking for it right now while I do this but uh the three-point shooting is awesome like 40% from three and like you said that is year over year over year 40% three-point shooter y uh catch and shoot uh on the move even showed some ability off the dribble and I I made a a video about this but like the mid-range game and the feel he has where he can get to his spots and elevate is very Kawawaii Leonardesque yep and I don’t just throw that around like I think he has legit ability to put the ball on the floor and do more than what I think people give him credit for uh he’s a connective playmaker and then you get to the defensive side of the ball and that’s where he’s going to make his money i just a really really um active player 1.7 blocks per game almost one steal per game in his six games so I have really no concern for him except for the fact that he only played six games this past year and just in his career hasn’t played a lot of like highlevel competition well not only that too you also to take into account that he’s not super young this obvious this is his third year in in college super young and not a super athlete like he’s a good athlete yeah he’s not he’s not explosive he’s he’s a vertical athlete but he’s not an explosive athlete um he only had six let me find it uh I had his dunks yeah only one dunk in his six games he played at Washington State like that’s that’s that’s a concern and the Grizzlies trade a lot for him by the way 16 uh number 16 and then a 2028 first round pick and then two seconds wow so they wanted they wanted Cedric here and I I love this pick so I’m not going to I’m not at all mad with it he was uh ninth on my board so the Grizzies the GMs right now Colin my top eight are gone let’s see i don’t know if your top eight are gone my top eight are gone oh no i have Carter Bryant seven what was it everybody except Carter Bryant at seven for me is gone seven yeah um yeah wow cedric C i everything we saw the past I don’t know couple days was like Cedric Coward maybe in the lottery you know maybe even down as low as like close to 20 something like that well he gets taken at 11 and and someone traded up for him a lot to tra they traded two first significant amounts yeah to jump up five spots because they didn’t think he’d be there at 16 so that means like honestly if I was the Spurs I would have loved to take him at 14 so maybe that’s that’d be nasty oh that would be nasty but like maybe that’s who they had to jump but uh regardless I love this pick uh for the Grizzlies you know they’re rebuilding but at the same time you have a guy that can come in and make plays for you right away all around great job shout out the Grizzlies
