Adou Thiero Selected By Los Angeles Lakers With Pick #36 In Second Round Of 2025 NBA Draft Reaction
[Music] with the 36th pick in the 2025 NBA draft the Los Angeles Lakers have selected Adie the wing out of Arkansas welcome into the Lakers report by Chad Sports jeffrey Cooperstein here with you guys and the Lakers have been making moves here in the second round coming into today the Lakers had the 55th overall pick they then traded up to the 45th overall pick they traded up once again from 45 to 36 moving up a total of 19 spots to select D’Ar this trade they just gave 45 and cash considerations to the Minnesota Timberwolves for the right to move up from 45 to 36 to select the pick we’ll break down the pick here in just a moment but before we do this is why you subscribe when the Lakers make a move we have you covered right here on the channel it’s youtube.com/lakersv no matter how big or how small when Rob Pelinka does something we have you covered right here on the channel we’ll be covering the 2025 NBA draft all throughout we’ll be covering 2025 NBA free agency summer league anything that the Lakers do this off season we have you covered so hit that subscribe button adierro the 36th pick out of Arkansas is a guy that I really like but there is a little bit of a confusing um I would say reason why the Lakers picked Adro so our scouting report from draft expert Nick Roloff is a smart basketball player who knows his role and plays it really well he has the athletic frame to finish well at the rim and help on defense but he cannot create looks for himself or others on the offensive end so he’s not a super polished offensive player uh he played under John Caliperry for the Arkansas Razerbacks last season in 27 minutes averaged 15 points almost six rebounds and shot 54% from the field he did most of his work around the paint for Arkansas last year and he also contributed on the defensive end with 1.6 steals per game which was one of the higher numbers in the SEC if I remember correctly adiero like I said a super athletic wing who more projects as a three or a four in the NBA as opposed to a two or a three he’s a little bit of a bigger wing and the reason I’m a little confused with this pick but I understand what Rob Pelinka was going for here is because they kind of already have this archetype on the roster in Jared Vanderbilt adutiero and Jared Vanderbilt basically play the exact same game where they’re going to help you tremendously on the defensive end but when it comes to the other end of the floor they’re not going to do much they’re not going to create for others they’re not going to space the floor now Adutiero again in college was able to finish around the rim will he be able to do that in the NBA with bigger more athletic wings constantly trying constantly hounding him and constantly trying to force him to his off hand in order to make shots more difficult for him that’s where I see him struggling here in the NBA so they already sort of have a dude at home if you will with Jared Vanderbilt but I I do think the Lakers went best player available sort of philosophy here and they liked him enough to trade up nine spots to go acquire him here’s what Kevin Oconor of Yahoo Sports had to say about the he said he is a slasher with a jacked frame and an explosive first step but has severe limitations on offense as a shooter like we mentioned if he’s able to figure out the shot then his length and versatility would make him a classic three and D role player the Lakers are very good at developing guys in their shots they have known to reform shots and they’ve been able to get a lot of guys who may not have been great shooters in the past in order to become one oh and by the way your head coach is JJ Reic one of the greatest shooters this game has ever seen so if you get Diero in the lab and they really get him working on his shot to recreate it they could possibly make him into a 3 and D weapon which is what I think the Lakers would end up doing i’m not sure if Adutierro makes this team right out of the gate i think he’ll see a lot of time with the South Bay Lakers in the G-League the Lakers are in a win now situation and maybe they feel like the could help them on nights where maybe there’s a backtoback or they have an injury and they really need him to step up but if you’re expecting Theoro to play 20 to 25 minutes a night for this Lakers team next season I don’t think your expectations are super in line look I I think this guy over time could be a pretty good NBA player be a rotational guy who can give you 20 to 25 minutes probably off the bench as a three or a four like I said but at the moment I’m not sure is super ready to play here in the NBA look I think the Lakers they didn’t have to give up much for him because in the second round you can literally just buy picks like you’re allowed to do that they did this with the 55 overall pick where they sent cash to the Bulls in order to move up 10 spots then they sent even more cash um to the Minnesota Timberwolves to move up nine more spots so if you have a rich owner like the Lakers now do with Walter not that bus was poor by any means but if you have a multi-billionaire owner you can just go out there and buy second round picks and it doesn’t cost you any additional draft assets it just costs you some cold hard cash so that gets sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a dude here the wing out of Arkansas and we all know that the Lakers biggest need this off season is a big man and there was Maxim right now there was the the guy out of Australia as well that was still on the board jani Broom just got taken a couple of picks before but center is 100% their biggest need they need a lob threat to go play with Luca Donic and LeBron James they obviously traded for Mark Williams at the 2025 NBA trade deadline but that trade was nixed due to a failed physical so they’re still in search of a center the thing I’ll say about this is you’re probably not going to get that starting caliber center where the Lakers were positioned here in the second round even at 36 I think you’re just looking at guys who could come off the bench and contribute for you but I think the Lakers are still going to try to be active to go find that center in free agency they also could use a point of attack defender and with the rumors that Dorian Finny Smith could consider opting out of his deal and becoming a free agent and really testing the market Finny Smith is one of the better defenders on this Lakers roster so maybe that’s where that pick comes in because Finny Smith may they maybe they think he’s a little bit of a a flight risk excuse me so they take the with number 36 to give them some insurance in case that happens so Adutier the pick for the Los Angeles Lakers at 36 overall you can go ahead and grade that pick for me down in the comments if you want ado the wing out of Arkansas A B C D or F let me know down there in the comments section what you guys think of the pick i It’s a pretty solid pick like when you’re in the second round at this point in time I you really can’t give anything less than a C so I’ll I’ll go ahead and like give it a B minus is it my favorite pick that I think the Lakers could have made no because I don’t think they addressed their main needs like you still have um Maxim Ray now out there you still have a couple of guys who are bigs on the market or excuse me still on the board that I would have rather the Lakers have taken but they kind of went best player available there and so I’m happy with that you have guys like Tyrese Proctor out there who could be a decent point of attack defender maxim right now Amari Williams is a super project guy so I don’t think he would have played for the Lakers at all and then you still have guys like Vlad Golden the big from Michigan via Florida Atlantic so I would have gone big if I was Rob Pelinka but I understand the pick of Adu Diero especially given their uncertainty surrounding the wing position look Jared Vanderbilt’s always hurt rui Hachim Mura there he’s been talked about in trade rumors as well dorian Finny Smith could be declining that player option so they go out and take a wing out of Arkansas someone who maybe can help them in spurts next season but don’t expect Adiearro to be in like any rookie of the year or even all rookie team conversations i think that would just be a little excessive but the Lakers do make their selection their first selection of the 2025 NBA draft and it is Adie Dwing out of Arkansas that will do it for today’s show guys appreciate you for tuning in to the Lakers I don't get it…why a wing…we need center…pelinka what are you doing…
Rob isn't using his brain, wasting the small window that Lakers have of winning a championship. While we still have LeBron James, Luka Donchic,,and Austin Reaves. I hope for the Lakers and his sake a miracle happens and we find a decent starting Center and a backup.
JEFF YOU'RE THE BEST BRO
THIS WAS A BAD PICK. .WHERE THE F$#&K IS THE CENTER WE NEED
Panget pick-36.adou thiero👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻kanina pick-45. Rocco ZIKARSKY sayang Lakers 😭😭😡🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻c rob pelinka lakers call sya 😔

D
fire, Fire, FIRE Pelinka. Great defender that can't shoot. The Biggest need is a center who can contribute right away. Amari Williams was available. Stupid mutherfu**ers.
draft a really good wing and trade for a star center lessgooo! Bye vando
No center
Ok pick not bad
rob pelosi’s agenda all along has been to destroy the Lakers…goal accomplished. We need centers, not midgets!!! This idiot gm has been avoiding acquiring a center. Too bad GMs aren’t on the draft.
Quaker Valley in the house!!!! 🖤💛 Let’s go!!!!!
New owner is like the old owner… totally clueless. Mr. Walter please give Mr. Bezos a wedding gift…the Lakers.
LET'S GO LAKERS WIN ❤🎉😮
I disagree with this guy Adou is playing next year and the Lakers have a plan and he’s way more talented than Vanderbilt who doesn’t have a offensive game which Adou does have
Still needed athletic defending wing. We have nobody athletic on the wing
I’m from Arkansas. Lakers got a great player trust me.
They got Zikarsky 7"2 center at 45
A solid B pick, I guess the plan is still to trade for a center.
We also got Eric Dixon on a two-way per Shams.
Great pick he’s a dog our team is soft great pick
Why didn't they pick Maxime Raynaud with the 36th pick? This makes no sense at all for the Lakers needs.
Lakers going to get a center in trade just chill
