all right so there you go with the 38th overall pick the Indiana Pacers take Cam Jones out of Marquette he’s 6’5 played point guard this past year as assist took a big jump in that fourth year four-year players are adults right he’s going to come to the Indiana Pacers he’s going to be an adult he’s going to understand what his role is because it’s going to be told to him and he’s going to fulfill that role i don’t know exactly what that’s going to be but I would expect him to be a rotational player right out the gate because he has that kind of experience he scored in double figures every single game he played this past year for Marquette and that’s not easy to do in college he originally is from Memphis so he’s coming to Indianapolis i like the way I like the way he was interviewed i don’t pay attention to that kind of crap very often in draft shows especially on ESPN but I like the interview said “All I want to do is get to Naptown and go to work.” Okay good i like that he was wearing a Rolling Rolling Stones jacket that’s a good thing i like that he can shoot it a little bit as a junior he had 40% from beyond the arc last year it dipped a little bit to 31% not a great free throw shooter this past season but what he is is a really good functional basketball player not a great athlete but a basketball player he is going to be a productive adult for the Pacers and you need to do one of two things when you draft in the second round either you’re drafting for enormous potential knowing that the player is likely to crap out or you draft a guy who you know what you’re going to get that’s Cam Jones you know what you’re going to get against Butler the past year if you watched the two games that he played against the Bulldogs he scored 23 in one he scored 17 in the other that’s kind of who he is it’s what he does his average against Butler was 20 points a game obviously his average over the course of the season was 19 he performed as instructed he performed as expected game after game after game after game he was that kind of steady yeti for Marquette and Marquette won a lot of games as a result cam Jones coming to the Pacers

  1. Good team player very consistent. 54th ?? Pundits saying pacers need rim protection interior defense and they pick a 6’4” guard?

  2. Indy will love Kam. High bball IQ. Great all around player. Crafty, works from what D gives you. Carried a heavy workload for MU this past season and performed well. Shaka does a great job of preparing his guys to play at next level.
