The Celtics just ROBBED the Magic…

the Boston Celtics just robbed the Orlando Magic in the second round of the NBA draft and Brad Stevens is once again behind the scenes cooking up some great plays and grabbing a big steal here in the draft that’s going to fill a necessary need at that center position we all know you’ve been asking for the center talk about the centers well Brad Stevens went out and got one that I am very very high on who I think is going to fit in great into Joe Misoula’s system so we’re going to dive in explore what this big man can contribute for the Boston Celtics here if he can make an impact right away and what this could maybe mean for the Boston Celtics with doing this selection we’ll be discussing all of that and more on this episode of Celtics Digest i am Bruce Veles and as you guys know the Boston Celtics are still going on with the second round of the draft so there might be still some more moves so laying potential on that of another video coming your way but at the moment they had made one selection so far here in day two and it’s not where we thought they were going to be selecting we’ll get into a little bit why that was the case but you guys have been showing your love and support thank you guys so much let me know what you think about the selection the Celtics made here in round two and they make any more selections what you guys think as well rating their draft but without further ado let’s dive in and let’s explore the Boston Celtics first move is I think this was an amazing selection for the team and I think they just hit an absolute home run drafting a guy in Amari Williams coming out of Kentucky and for you guys that probably don’t know maybe if you’re a fan of the stream or you know fan of the channel for a long time I’m a huge Kentucky fan right growing up watching basketball always watching the Celtics watching the Phoenix Suns as a kid and then growing up watching college was a team that I gravitated to because I liked a lot of their star players and always been following their guys and they had two guys in the draft here one got selected by Phoenix Kobe Brea and the other got selected by the Suns here in or one got selected by the Suns of Kobe Brea and the other Amari Williams got selected by the Celtics and I’m very happy to see that come through into play and I think this is going to be a very very key moment for Amari Williams to really step out and showcase to the Celtics what he can really bring for this team now how did the Celtics get Amari Williams well they selected him at pick 46 and you might be asking well how the hell did the Celtics get pick 46 they were at pick 32 well that’s why they robbed the Orlando Magic because the Boston Celtics here today were analyzing some key pieces and they wanted a guy in Rashier Fleming at pick 32 well when the San when the Phoenix Suns jumped them and traded for pick 31 from the Timberwolves instead and took him Celtics said “We don’t need a guy at pick 32 we can trade back and we can get one of the guys that we like at a later pick.” And the Celtics did that trading pick 32 to the Atlanta Magic where they selected wing Noah Penda someone that a lot of Celtics people also had an eye on for picks 4657 a 2026 second rounder and a 2027 second rounder stacking up that ammo once again and getting that war chest ready for any other potential moves down the line here and Brad Stevens did his specialty of trading back something that we all see saw really coming through and maybe he felt a guy like Amari Williams where’s their was one of their guys at the center position right guys like Ryan Kulkburn and Maxi Marinard were above there and were still available when the Celtics were going to pick at 32 but they did fall before the Celtics got to pick 46 but sitting at 46 they still got a guy in Williams that they do really really like here and I want to give a shout out to my boy Nick MBA i know you guys all know him he’s been on the channel and you follow us you definitely follow him he already had a breakdown going over Amari Williams on his channel so definitely go check that out if you already had watched it re-watch it to get a little bit more of a film breakdown on Amari Williams and what he can contribute to this team but with the Celtics Amari Williams is going to be an absolute beast this uh guy gave him an A+ for the Celtics in drafting him saying this is why Brad Stevens is the best executive on the planet again the type of guy who is going to be closing out games and could be potentially for the Celtics in playoffs for years down the line he’s a great passer rebounder and he’s a solid rim protector and Jared Weiss says that Amari Williams is a really good fit for Boston considering how well they develop bigs and have a good passing feel he can push in transition and be good to fill in the open floor as a seven-footer but what I like about him is his ability to fill into that Luke Cornet role of running delay handoff actions and passing on the short roll there’s a bit of Isaiah Hartinstein to his game if he can become a solid screener and with Williams turning 24 in January already being an older prospect someone at 23 years old of age there’s a chance that he can factor into Boston’s center rotation immediately which I think is something to really really keep an eye on when you look at the Celtics depth chart as we go back and look it is a little bit weak at that center position we know Tatum’s not going to be here niang’s more of a power forward but Neus Kada is still here porzingis is not gone and they also have Xavier Tilman luke Horet and Al Horford are still free agents and with them still you know being underneath the second apron it does give them a little bit more flexibility to bring those guys back but there’s a possibility of losing those guys even if they have the flexibility or money to do so and even if they got that money they’d have to move off some more contracts so there’s a little bit of some puzzling moves for the Boston Celtics to really identify that so filling in a key role once again of center in the draft and a player that they think can make a key impact maybe as a backup is very nice and who knows if he impresses in summer league if he is able to show some flashes maybe he moves up this depth chart and that’s where it allows the Boston Celtics to feel a little bit more comfortable offloading some of these other centers that they still do have under roster right because if they want to break an Alford or Horford back they want to bring a Luke Cornet back they may have to move off another $10 million in a Sam Hower contract an Anthony Simons contract or even shutting some smaller money like a guy like Neus Kada or Xavier Tilman and to do so they might have to use some draft capital in doing that and that’s where it gets really interesting with these second round picks because Bobby Manning shows us that the Celtics have a lot of assets they just selected Mario Williams at 46 like I mentioned we’ll see what they do with pick 57 maybe that’s a guy that they target on the two-way deal because JDavidson obviously got promoted to a regular standard contract and depending on if he is even coming back or going obviously that still opens a hole for the Celtics at a two-way spot but not only that they got a 2026 first a 2027 first they have a 2028 top 45 protected first one in 2030 two in 2031 and one in 2032 which gives them multiple multiple assets alongside other future firstrounders to use like I mentioned dangling around some of these contracts to maybe get off a Xavier Tilman who unfortunately hasn’t really panned out for the Celtics or maybe having a team really invest in a guy like name Kada as a potential backup big for the Celtics just to chop at the little ends of the salary to even give them you know three four $5 million to make it so they can have that flexibility to give Luke Cornet that money to come back or make it easier for Al Horford to come back as well so that they can uh not be as deep into the luxury tax here and then ultimately still have Amari Williams playing that center role like I mentioned with Amari Williams he’s going to be very very solid for this Celtics team i really really like this pick going into it here i think the Celtics rob the Orlando Magic and they still have another pick up today as well coming in at 57 like I mentioned we’ll have to evaluate if they do select at that pick who it’s ultimately going to be but even if they do trade it for some future seconds or something like that that’ll also be something to keep an eye on but I don’t expect Brad Stevens to be done following draft night cuz like I mentioned the Celtics are still in the first apron but want to shed potentially even some more salary so what does that say for guys like Anthony Simons Sam Hower and even the guys like I mentioned like name Kada and Xavier Tilman well you got to stay tuned and we got to keep up to date we’ll figure out what Brad Stevens has in mind as the Celtics gear up for free agency in just a couple days so let me know your thoughts down below in the comments section following the draft the Celtics are going to be focusing on this new wave so obviously have some more updates so if you want to stay up into everything with the team hit the subscribe button let me know your thoughts on this draft selection like I mentioned and I’ll catch you guys in the next one have a great rest of your day and go Boston Celtics peace out everyone

  1. Every pick we’ve made will never play one second of meaningful minutes for the Celtics. Guys face it we’re tanking this coming season.

  2. this is a joke of a video… Stevens only idea for center is to get down on his hands and knees and beg Al Horford to come back and play for us till he's 90

  3. Amari Williams should be starting for us now because Bruhh this dude game is great. He needs to start and JD Davis needs to be on the bench playing for us as well. I think Brad needs to allow guys to play this year and see what you got. It’s time for JD to play let these guys play while we have them cheap

  4. Love ya. But if they likes him that much they would have picked him at 32. I would tone down the expectations for a mid second round pick.

  5. Im a Kentucky fan…i hope he works out for you up in Boston. He is a great person, and his skills could really translate to the pro game.

  6. I watched this kid all year he’s our best big today. I just watched another page and someone needs to pull the plug on their production. They said they’d rather have Kornet because Williams can’t shoot? Maybe the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a while, because we all know kornet is a sharpshooter. Boston is the most subtle racist city and I just can’t sit back silently watching it anymore

  8. The two best teams has a total of 3 of the types of people the Celtics feature. Is this a recipe for success? Our draft was fairly weak. We skipped over a lot of guys who could contribute. Then we pick shulga? He sucks

  10. The odds of a player selected at 46 and ever seeing it out of the G league is 10,000 to 1 at best. you never know, there are surprises, but not very often.

  11. I’m so Sick and tired of people saying he can’t shoot we need a big that can stretch the floor no the heck we don’t we have 1000 shooters on the team elite snipers we need a big that can play some dam defense and rebound well and this kid can do both and plus a good ball handler and passing big to get the ball to the elite shooters on our team this is a great pick a bigger Rob Williams type guy if you know ball you will understand ☘️☘️☘️

  12. Do you really think he will do anything the Celtics haven't had a decent player come out of the 2nd round in more then a decade fingers crossed he is good because I would love it but I need to question it because of the failure

JA MORANT (GUARD)FROM MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES TO BROOKLYN NETS

DEANDRE AYTON (CENTER)FROM PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS TO SAN ANTONIO SPURS

NICHOLAS CLAXTON (CENTER) FROM BROOKLYN NETS TO CHICAGO BULLS

STEVEN ADAMS (CENTER) FROM HOUSTON ROCKETS TO CHICAGO BULLS

NIKOLA VUCEVIC (CENTER) FROM CHICAGO BULLS TO MILWAUKEE BUCKS

DeAndre JORDAN (CENTER) FROM DENVER NUGGETS TO BROOKLYN NETS

IVICA ZUBAC (CENTER) From LA Clippers to New York Knicks if Giannis Antetokounmpo will NOT be acquired by the New York Knicks.

GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO (FORWARD/CENTER) FROM MILWAUKEE BUCKS TO NEW YORK KNICKS OR LOS ANGELES LAKERS OR MIAMI HEAT.

The trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee Bucks to Miami Heat is still possible but has restrictions due to Salary Cap. If the deal for Miami Heat will not push thru, Giannis Antetokounmpo might move to another team. Another issue: Since Kel’el Ware, a young 7’-0” rookie Center is already dominating in the Miami Heat big man position, a deal for acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee Bucks to Miami Heat might NOT push through.

Therefore, Giannis Antetokounmpo might be traded to New York Knicks instead as additional firepower for the Power Forward Position. In this case, Karl-Anthony Towns must play the Center Position.

Another option is Giannis Antetokounmpo might be traded to Los Angeles Lakers to play as the Power Forward Position. In this case, Power Forward Rui Hachimura might be traded somewhere else since he will be replaced by Giannis Antetokounmpo.

On the other hand, Victor Wembanyama must be acquired by the LA Lakers so he can play the center position and Lebron James will play as the number 3 position/Point Forward. If a deal will push thru for Giannis Antetokounmpo to be at LA Lakers, I suggest that Rui Hachimura will be traded to Miami Heat to play the Power Forward position to partner with Miami Heat Center Kel’el Ware.

If in case, there is a Salary Cap Issue in Los Angeles Lakers, they will be limited to options.

The LA Lakers will do the option of acquiring just 1 big man and that is either Victor Wembanyama or Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Case 1: If LA Lakers will acquire Victor Wembanyama, the LA Lakers might not push to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo due to Salary Cap Issue. Giannis Antetokounmpo might find some other NBA team to settle down. He might go to New York Knicks or any other team or he can still stay at Milwaukee Bucks.

Case 2: If LA Lakers will acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo, The LA Lakers might not push to acquire Victor Wembanyama again due to Salary Cap issue. Victor Wembanyama might find another NBA team if he wants to be traded. He also has the option to go back in France or in Europe to play for any French Team or any Euroleague Team.

CHET HOLMGREN (CENTER) FROM OKLAHOMA THUNDER TO BOSTON CELTICS or MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES

Case 1: Does the Boston Celtics have plans for Chet Holmgren? The possible trade deal for Chet Holmgren from Oklahoma Thunder to Boston Celtics may not push thru after Boston Celtics has acquired a 7’-0” Center Amari Williams from the #46 draft pick. Amari Williams may be still a little raw because he is still young but he may develop into a very dominant center in the future. This will be a huge gamble if the Boston Celtics may opt to trade out Amari Williams for somebody else or keep just him and develop him to be more dominant.

Case 2: Chet Holmgren might be traded into Minnesota Timberwolves. The Minnesota Timberwolves might be very interested to sign in Chet Holmgren thru trade to become the starting center to support or replace the aging and slowing down current center Rudy Gobert. BIG ADVANTAGE: Chet Holmgren is a Minnesota native. He was born and grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

If Case 2 will push thru, Minnesota Timberwolves will have 2 options:

A.) Minnesota Timberwolves might trade out Naz Reid to either Golden State Warriors or Los Angeles Lakers, sign Chet Holmgren and keep Rudy Gobert.

B.) Minnesota Timberwolves might trade out Rudy Gobert to San Antonio Spurs, sign Chet Holmgren and keep Naz Reid.

DENNIS SCHRODER (GUARD) FROM DETROIT PISTONS TO BOSTON CELTICS or MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES

Case 1: Remember Rajon Rondo? Remember the 2007-2008 season and the 2008 Finals Boston Celtics team of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen? It was those moments that Rajon Rondo dominated. Boston Celtics might need a veteran and very dominant point guard with the name of Dennis Schroder who is very similar to Rajon Rondo. You can check at Youtube his highlights, skills and abilities are very similar to Rajon Rondo in fact, Dennis Schroder is a better outside shooter, better ball handler and more physique. Dennis Schroder is by the way the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup MVP with Germany winning Championship the title. If Dennis Schroder will be signed by the Boston Celtics, he will be a huge addition to the firepower of the team. He will contribute big on the experience, veterancy and leadership. He can control the pace of the game as point guard and he can also make veteran calls of play. He may not replace somebody else in Boston Celtics but he will surely be a formidable addition of strength, firepower and leadership to the team.

Case 2: If in case Dennis Schroder will not be signed by Boston Celtics, He may still have the opportunity for Minnesota Timberwolves. If Minnesota Timberwolves will sign Dennis Schroder, he will be the perfect replacement for the aging point guard Mike Conley Jr. (37 years old). If this trade deal will push thru, Mike Conley Jr. might be possibly traded to San Antonio Spurs.

    FINALIZED TRADES:

KEVIN DURANT (FORWARD) FROM PHOENIX SUNS TO HOUSTON ROCKETS

JALEN GREEN (GUARD) FROM HOUSTON ROCKETS TO PHOENIX SUNS

DILLON BROOKS (SG/SF) FROM HOUSTON ROCKETS OT PHOENIX SUNS

JRUE HOLIDAY (GUARD) FROM BOSTON CELTICS TO PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS

ANFERNEE SIMONS (GUARD) FROM PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS TO BOSTON CELTICS

CJ McCollum (GUARD) FROM NEW ORLEANS PELICANS TO WASHINGTON WIZARDS

KELLY OLYNYK (CENTER) FROM NEW ORLEANS PELICANS TO WASHINGTON WIZARDS

JORDAN POOLE (GUARD) FROM WASHINGTON WIZARDS TO NEW ORLEANS PELICANS

SADDIQ BEY (FORWARD) FROM WASHINGTON WIZARDS TO NEW ORLEANS PELICANS

KRISTAPS PORZINGIS (CENTER) FROM BOSTON CELTICS TO ATLANTA HAWKS

GEORGES NIANG (POWER FORWARD) FROM ATLANTA HAWKS TO BOSTON CELTICS

  14. Finally we drafted defensive players that can match up against okc . Hugo and Amari are young , athletic, and affordable for now . We needed to balance our offense with some defense .
