The Knicks just ROBBED the NBA…

the New York Knicks just robbed the NBA as they just pulled something off that was pure genius in the NBA draft tonight as not only did they add a very special talent to this team they also were able to make a huge move manipulating their salary cap issues while adding on a player who has a ton of tools and there is a ton going on about this and we’re going to break it all down what’s up guys welcome back to Nick’s Digest it’s Chris here and we’re going to jump right into things as always if you guys are part of that 70% that’s not subscribed we got daily videos like this that do not stop coming out this video is coming out at 12:30 in the morning after the draft it might be Friday morning right now or a Thursday night whatever you want to call it does that mean we’re sleeping on the night the NBA draft’s happening absolutely not we’re on that grind so make sure to subscribe but let’s jump into it there’s a lot to talk about the New York Knicks many people are going to look at them and say “Oh well what’ they do in the NBA draft that was so special?” They made one draft pick it was towards the latter part of the draft what’s the issue here well how’ they rob the NBA here’s how the New York Knicks just pulled something off as I adjust myself in my chair look the Knicks they have salary cap issues they just manipulated that in a beautiful way while getting the player that they wanted the entire time throughout this NBA draft the Knicks did not work out too many people into the NBA draft it was not a big process whatsoever however there was a couple names that we recognized from the past i mean we see a list of guys here none of them were too highly ranked and the highest ranked guy on the list was Muhammad Diawara now Muhammad Diawara you probably know the name by now and that is because he was drafted 51st overall by the New York Knicks but the Knicks pulled something off while doing this the Knicks it’s evidently clear that they have a couple issues to address going into this free agency offseason period where effectively you look at this roster they do not have forwards they do not have wings off the bench the only one is Pakome Doier who obviously is going to his second season from France well the Knicks they have turned their sights well more towards development when they’ve started looking for their coaches it’s very clear they want a coach who’s going to prioritize developing players and running a deeper roster and the Knicks they brought in another guy who has so much potential to be great in the NBA and Knicks fans they’re loving this right now as Chris Persian mentioned Muhammad Diawara is the pick for the Knicks at 51 6’9 in shoes with a 7 foot4 wingspan a 9 foot2 standing reach raw on offense and as a shooter has all the tools defensively be a switchable forward experienced via chalet France under 20 starter jumper as a swing factor great motor those are the things that we look at when we initially look at who Muhammad Diawara is cbs Sports gave the Knicks a B for this draft pick i’m giving them an A because they’re just considering where Dawara got picked and all that and how it fits the Knicks here’s what the Knicks did in the process they made a move they made multiple moves in order to spend no money on this draft while also get a player that they’ve believed in the entire time the Knicks loved Dawara this was nothing new they’ve loved Muhammad Diawara for a bit and now they got a guy who they’ve been interested in all along they were able to trade down to get him add more money to their team and less pressure towards that second apron in the process of getting the guy who they wanted to draft all along but they tricked enough NBA teams so they did not have to trade up they didn’t have to do anything for Diwir they just had to move back a spot in order to land him and save money at the same time leon Rose did Leon Rose things as per usual brock Aller the salary cap manager helping as well now Ian Begley mentioned Dawir is also good friends with Nick’s 2024 first round pick the 20 over the 20-year-old overall Diawara is viewed as a good athlete and a strong defender he spent time defending the opposing team’s lead ball handler for France’s under 20 team muhammad Diawara will play at summer league with the Knicks while his contract details are to be decided on top of that Persian mentioned that the role is inherently matchup dependent but Dio often guarded the best offensive player on rival teams his length and strength have helped him stifle away many primary offensive options the drawbacks to Daw’s game are the easily identifiable stuff on the stat sheet he makes 55% of his free throws and less than 30% of his three-pointers when he started on France’s under20 team in Euro Basket he averaged seven points on 51.4 shooting enough offensive output in 19 minutes per game to help them win gold so Dior what we’re seeing right now out of him is a guy who’s got a ton of potential who looks like the Knicks have wanted him for a while he fits the team well this aggressive guy who’s going to be an excellent switchable defender and if they can get the offense down he’s going to be a really dangerous player at this NBA level now taking a look at Diwir stats they’re not going to jump out at you but also Euro stats rarely ever do he put up six points in 19.6 minutes played and he shot 31% from three so his three-point percentage output went up a lot and also he started hitting them at a more efficient clip he has gotten better at shooting which makes people think that he absolutely can get there as a shooter he was shooting from the field at a 38% clip so not as good as well he’s going to need to spend some time in summer league in the G-League potentially overseas getting ready and getting things going but once he gets things going there is a lot of hope for Diawara i mean we look here he does have the ability to hit threes and he’s got a nice jump shot the form is nice he gets out in transition he moves fast he flies high towards the rim he does all these intangible things he spots up in the corner hits his corner three and again the shot form is nothing to really worry about he’s aggressive he’s a point of attack defender he’s got a great ball handle for someone who’s six foot nine attacks the rim well he’s got talent he said that he feels like he’s a big guard and he’s shown it now obviously the free throws are the concern but it’s not like they’re a guarantee to be missed or anything and it’s something he could work on and look he’s got a nice dribble there he attacks the hoop well he’s aggressive he gives you all the things that you want out of a project pick because you could tell from watching it he does want to be great and he has the ball handling he has the ability to create his own shot already there which is something you have to teach a lot of guys now it’s a matter of just getting more efficient on that offensive end and cleaning up the defense a bit and Mohamd has got real potential to be an excellent player for the Knicks while at the same time since they moved down a spot since the front office pulled that off what we’re seeing is the Knicks owning or owing Dawara less money and that obviously could come into effect when regarding what things are going to look like and as Steve Paer mentioned the Knicks selected Diwara at 51 a 6’8 6’9 N 20-year-old from France early guess is that he will be the equivalent of trading out of the draft a draft and stash player however that’s not exactly clear because Diara will be playing at summer league it’s very likely this ends up being up partially to Mohamd Dawara he’s not expected to get minutes with the Knicks next year i mean the Knicks are a conference finals team he’s the 51st overall pick no one’s going to expect him to get minutes however he could decide to come onto this Knicks bench and make a lot a lot more money than he’d be making overseas but at the same time almost nothing on the Knicks salary books so it’s not going to really impact them too heavily in regards to getting that second apron or getting close to that second apron or into the second apron the Knicks ultimately decided to not trade up because they didn’t have any prospects they liked enough to trade up for so they went with Do someone who they liked someone who they worked out and this is good stuff because the Knicks they have Walt Perin who’s been great at identifying overseas talent before for instance French talent like Rudy Goar who he identified for the Jazz back in the day so we’re looking at a guy in Dawir who’s got a ton of potential just like Pomeier and the Knicks they don’t have a ton of draft picks in the future so taking these project picks taking these shots they’re worth it you have a great team this year at 51 you’re likely not finding someone who’s going to be in your rotation consistently year one the Knicks have a bunch of guys who look like they can enter their rotation in Tyler Kohlick in Ariel Hooki in Kevin McCuller Jr so getting getting another project pick onto your team could completely change your future if it works out as good as they think there is the chance of it working out and we look at the Knicks it’s not like they worked out a ton of guys they kept things pretty pretty slim so it felt like they knew that they wanted Diawara and he’s been their plan for a while now now the Knicks they did draft another player for a few seconds it really drafted on behalf of the Timberwolves and that was Kobe Sanders now Sanders was someone Knicks fans were briefly excited about when it got announced that he was being drafted by them he put up 16 points four rebounds and four assists shooting 46% from the field and 34% from three 79.5% free throw percentage as well sanders was a solid player in college and a lot of Knicks fans did enjoy that selection i thought it was a solid selection as well but ultimately the Knicks decided to move him to the Clippers so they can move back a spot spend less money get a guy who might be drafting stash so they could avoid the second apron for another year if they so choose and on top of that does have the potential to be a breakout player in this league i love this draft from the Knicks i really do i’m not just saying that i think these stats are going to be overlooked and people are going to be like “Oh well he can’t perform under these stats or whatever.” That’s not true and as New York basketball pointed out Muhammad Diawara on his game said “My shooting my defense the way I could play many positions I feel like I’m ready.” I spoke with Pakome that’s my friend do I have any weaknesses more regular on my three i got to be working on it and then said he loves Jaden McDaniels and Pascal Seakum as guys to compare him to and I mean if you just look at the way that he performs the way that he plays to go back to these stats there is a bit of a Pascal Seakamish vibe to the way he moves i mean he’s getting out in transition he’s leaking out we see him playing aggressive defense looking for his open shots taking these open threes as a forward and on top of that attacking the rim and just attacking with the ball not afraid to bring the ball up again there is shades of Pascal Seakum here and I think fans should be looking for Seiakum as a guy to compare him to so I like this pick i think it’s a good move by the Knicks i think they did something safe here while also really taking a swing for the fences and if you’re at 51 and you find a chance to to get a guy who you think could become this like Pascal Seakum type player 100 out of 100 times you go do it guys what do you think on Diara let me know in the comments down below like this video subscribe turn on post notifications have a great day go Knicks

  1. NOW HOW DO YOU KNOW HE IS NOT GOING TO PLAY TIBBS AINT HERE TO RUIN THESE YOUNG PLAYERS NEW COACH NEW RULES HE WILL PROBABLY PLAY THE YOUNG KIDS WHICH IS GREAT AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED

  2. There’s no rookie scale salary for second rounders. The Knicks didn’t save money for trading down a pick and the cash considerations don’t go towards their salary cap. It’s hard to tell if this kid has a future with the Knicks or not until we get a head coach and what their tendencies are with playing rookies.

  3. Just a heads up for the media newcomers analyzing and critiquing: this is a future asset for potential trades. That’s how the NEW YORK Knicks should operate in a big market. He will be well taken care of, learning from some of the best, and then used wisely. It's Leon Rose's philosophy for this specific team.

  4. Mohamed Diawara is certainly a C+ prospect with a lot of potential if placed in the right circumstances, like a small market team where he can thrive and make significant improvements. To me, he resembles a mix of Pascal Siakam and Antonio McDyess.

  5. You need to stop with the overhyping he is a dam project Leon rose got robbed last year listening to brunson by BK Leon is overhyped

  6. Sounds like a great replacement for Precious should he not return. However we absolutely need to resign Shamet, Wright, & Huk. Those are no brainers.

  7. I don't know if anyone else knows that he is best friends with DIATET. THE KNICKS ARE definitely going to use the rookies. This is One of the main reasons why THIBS IS NO LONGER THE COACH. LEON POKER FACE ROSE IS DEFINITELY NOT AN IDIOT . HE THINKS WITH THE IDEA OF KNOW, LATER AND NEED. WATCH 💯💯💯.

  8. yeah they pulled off a huge heist…idiot…"fans" liked you are the last thing this team needs….
