Knicks trade down for Mohamed Diawara & Luka Mitrovic | Highlights | NBA Draft 2025

Knicks trade down for Mohamed Diawara & Luka Mitrovic | Highlights | NBA Draft 2025

here we go let’s see who they select with the 51st pick in the 2025 NBA draft the LA Clippers select Mohamad Diawara from Paris France and Francis Cholay Basket mohamad on his way here to the New York Knicks he was actually an early entrance in the 2024 NBA draft but withdrew and now here’s his name called in the second round of the 2025 draft all right the 2025 NBA draft second round will be back after this all right so then it’s good mohamd Diara uh another French guy another French guy uh Uncle Fio says “Is he a drafting stash?” How i don’t know we’ll find out you know hopefully he comes to you know and he plays in summer league earlier before the draft there were some reports that said the Knicks were interested in this guy right the reports that you know said said he was they were interested um let me ask you this Tony what’s the purpose of making that swap what do What do the Knicks What did the Knicks get from making that swap with the Clippers i I would assume they got either uh another second round pick somewhere down the line or some cash yeah I guess so i guess it’ll be finalized later um Yeah because they I mean there’s no You have to have gotten something it wasn’t just the the swap of of picks i I can’t believe the second round picks so it’s not like they’re saving money by getting the 51 51st pick as opposed to the 50th those contracts are negotiable on you know what I mean whether it’s the 31st all the second round picks are negotiable they’re not uh standard numbers for each each player so they they have they have to have gotten something yeah so the next draft Mohamad Diwara um you know uh excuse me um I haven’t seen him play much i don’t know you know exactly what to expect from him you know uh um Dad maybe has a friend right i don’t know i not exactly sure who he is yeah i’m trying to learn a little bit about any type of information on him yeah you know he’s he’s he’s uh 20 years old 68 mhm forward that’s all I got right now he’s been he’s been he’s been playing in he’s been playing pro ball since 2021 2022 right he played for LNB ProA in 2122 2223 played Euro Cup 2223 again he played L&B Pro A 2324 Euro Cup the last two seasons he’s played with LN LB elite um you know he averaged five points 1.4 for assist shot 31% from the three-point line um guess we’re going to find out more about him in the coming in in in the coming weeks and months you know we’ll find out more about him now I mean listen I trust the front office and they’re scouting he’s 6’8 he’s a forward right the kind of the same attributes similar attributes to Kobe White i mean Kobe Sanders right similar attributes to Kobe Sanders you know so I’m assuming the Clippers really wanted Kobe Sanders and the Knicks thought that you know they were good with and the Knicks liked him you know it’s always good to have a favor down the line right right right uh Jason Benjamin thank you for the super chat he said “May I get laughed at but I would like the front office to look into Ben Simmons can handle facilitate and defend multiple positions at 610 what do y’all think?” Uh Jason I’m with you i’m with you i’m with you i’m with you but I got killed for it i got killed for it but I’m with you my brother i I’m I’m feeling you on it trust me i think it could work for this basketball team but we’re we’re going to have to talk about We’re going to have to talk about that later and thank you for this super chat you said “Is Kobe Bria still on the board good three-point shooter.” Uh he was not on the board i think he was drafted he was drafted earlier 31 something like that you know um I’m excited to learn about the kid i you know I’m not expecting him to come in and play let’s check out his Wikipedia diwara began his basketball career with the Parisian club la demy basket and later played for the youth team of St charles Basket and Sharon Leant in 2020 2021 he was trained at the French Academy and moved to Paris basketball in the summer of 2021 for which he made his first appearance in the French first division in the following 2120 season in the summer of 2022 he was named the best player at the Basketball Without Borders talent scouting event organized by the world governing body FIA and the NBA in Milan in December of 2023 the Aara was loaned to second division club Poier’s Basket 86 after receiving little playing time in Paris during the previous 23-24 season he was signed by first division club chalet basket during the 24 summer break all right so he’s been you know playing a lot of basketball uh since he was 13 years old diara played for the France under 17 basketball team at the 2022 FIA Under 17 Basketball World Cup and their team won the gold medal you know I’m I’m looking at some highlights mhm um obviously you know highlights you got to take with a grain of salt i’m going to be very interested to see who his player comp is but just from the highlights I’m looking at he he has a little bit of uh Pascal i already knew he was going to say that i I didn’t even watch any highlights i’m just looking at him and he looks like Pascal Seakum he looks like Pascal Seakum so I was already like well maybe he’s gonna be a Pascal Seakum yeah he could put the ball on the floor a little bit you know what I mean for his size which is great um I I don’t know what his splits are and percentages but it looks like uh it looks like he you know he don’t hesitate to uh shoot the ball as well so um I mean he looks like he’s going going to he it’s a good prospect you know what I mean i don’t know how how long it’ll take him to kind of pop or develop but for his size and and the fluidity in which he moves he looks good he might even look a little bit more more fluid than Pascal pascal I think he had to uh develop that over some years he might he might be ahead of that curve um but at the same time he’s 20 right now i don’t I don’t know how old Pascal was you know when he got drafted and how long it took him i think Pascal was a little older coming into the league okay i think I think I think it’s a little bit older um yeah you know they they they’ll they’ll uh they’ll st they’ll stash him maybe or maybe they won’t you know maybe maybe he’ll put him on a two-way you know maybe he’ll maybe Yeah put him on a two-way or um you know whatever it is you know some highlights here one thing about the Knicks Mhm they put a guy on the two-way if if he looks like he’s ready they they don’t hesitate to go ahead and switch that up and and give him a spot and put somebody else on the two-way and maneuver things around you know what I mean we’ve seen him do that from exhibit 10’s to two ways from two ways demoted you know or waved and then somebody else gets the two-way so I I I think if if he uh if he does show up and and and looks like a player yeah he he’ll he he’ll get a spot i mean looking at him here I mean to me he looks like he has raw talent pascal was 22 when he drafted to me right now just watching him play he looks like he has raw talent raw ability he has very long arms i mean he should at 6’8 but he has long arms um you know he’s he he he’s had a chance to shoot a couple times he just pulled it okay he pulled it from deep he knocked it down you know maybe he maybe he’s raw i think I think he’s raw and he’s going to need some development you know uh but I think he has he looks like he has the tools to be a good defender you know he he he he you know just made a nice block there uh he looks like he has the tools to uh you know play you know at 6 68 69 you know the the ability to maybe switch you know from playing a four to playing a three to playing a two defending a four defending a three defending a two you know he’s going to have to get his um I think I think he needs to get some of his balance together i think he needs to get footwork together um decent footwork there want to throw something up here he’s just a raw player he’s just a raw player you know what I mean you know he’s going to have to develop but I think he has the tools though just watching from what I’m seeing right now he looks like he has the tools to be um one day be a good basketball player but when I’m w I I It looks like he’s kind of offbalance sometimes when he has the ball every once in a while now when he has the ball and he’s ready to make a move it looks like he can make a move could jab step but every once in a while I just see him as like his feet are close together a little bit off balance but you know he’s young and and you know he’s uh he’s got to he’s got to grow young and he’s got to grow so you know what I mean uh I’ll bring those highlights back in just a second shins Durus said Nick Knicks also get the draft rights to Luca Mitchovich Mitchelovic knicks did work out Diwara before the draft he is raw offensively but very good defensively a 74 wingspan that’s what we talking about marcus thank you for the super chat he said Ian Begley said he’s playing in summer league that’s great that’s great want to see him in summer league um you know might be winning summer league might be a reason to go to Vegas [Laughter] any excuse any excuse danny Thomas compares to Wan Gabriel uh has good vision um 46 assist to 4.6 assist to 2.6 turnovers needs to work on his offense yeah i mean you you could listen he’s he’s a raw basketball player so he’s definitely got to work on all of his game you know what I mean and that’s okay that’s what you want from a um a guy that you’re trying to develop but you’re trying to develop a guy with uh the tools and and I think you know we asked you asked me I think last night uh who should the Knicks who would the Knicks would you go with the best available player um you know was he the best available player i don’t know but he has the tools he has the length right um you know he he seems to be nimble and quick on his feet you know so he has the tools and and he’s already a decent defender you know i mean that goes a long way right there because being a good defender in the NBA is tough right it’s tough task being a defender in the NBA you know so if he has the tools if he has uh uh uh uh can already defend you know he might be one step ahead of the game now he’s just got to figure out the offensive side of the game you know what I mean he looks like he can shoot the ball a little bit from the outside you know um Okay okay um I’m okay with it how do I mean how do you feel about it i’m good with it i mean I I like the fact that we we you know we got a guy and then we picked up the rights to a guy too so you know what I mean that’s that’s doubling up on the assets right um and yeah we we don’t expect him to come in and and and play or make make uh get a a spot but if he does that’s because of performance right that’s because he showed something so yeah we we we can’t we can’t expect too much from the 50 or 51st pick you know what I mean right at least not right away you know what I mean at least not right away can’t expect too much from him but you know uh you know he’s got good instincts he’s got good instincts so you know well he’s he’s going to have to he’s going to need a lot of development and I would rather him he’s gonna play in summer league so I would rather him be in the NBA be in the GLeague right and develop in the league than develop in France you know what I’m saying i I would much rather that because in the NBA you know in the GLeague you got you got you got he’s going to get NBA development you know building blocks any cat we drafted y’all were going to be good with with good without or good with i mean if if that’s what you Okay if that’s what you want to say all right maybe but maybe not if if they drafted someone and I looked at him I said “Man this guy is trash.” Then I would have said “No.” What you mean but you know I I you know I like I like adding guys like this to your young squad that’s in development uh that has the tools that’s what That’s all I’m saying bro the tools tools jason Benjamin thank you for the super chat he said him and Naji add length and athleticism add that with Huck Ocula Doier and we have much needed size and youth the new coach has to develop the traits um well we’ll see who that new coach is when that new coach gets here you know what I’m saying uh yeah but who’s Naji uh he’s the Knicks don’t have Nazi right i mean you know he he was he was a young guy I think um you know people were talking about the possibility of drafting you know so I do said Muhammad is from your country all right so maybe you know a little bit about him call up yeah call up let us know and you can call in ladies and gentlemen 516 3625212 let me know what you think about the draft pick what the Knicks are going to do uh moving forward you know talk to me a little bit i want to know what you think i don’t have that much time i only got about 15 to 20 minutes before I got to rock cuz I got a long ride ahead of me he also said he also says seak I’m like and he could defend too so you know I mean you you you can see you know Se I wonder if he played soccer at any point you know a lot a lot of players like Seakum and those guys played soccer which which bodess well because of the footwork you know what I mean jason said uh we have him in summer league nazi 611 big we have him in summer league okay sounds good so uh now that we got our draft over with um where do we go from here Tom now what’s next now what’s next um I mean we got to find a coach free agency is next you know free agency is next and that is uh not ideal to be making draft decisions and making um free agency decisions without a a coach and play without a coach and play for insight for direction you know you know what I mean for all all those things so I mean for me the next thing is head coach right hopefully it doesn’t drag out much longer because what we got uh 4 days till free agency yeah what’s that july 1st or the 30th one of one of one of the two uh like like June 30th at midnight so yeah i mean that that that’s what’s next for me this this coach’s decision or or you know who we going to who we going to have i mean not even it don’t matter who it is you know what I mean it it is who it’s going to be but it would be nice to start learning some of his philosophies some of um his strengths his weaknesses how we could envision him working with the roster so that’s where I’m at with it yeah um yeah that’s an issue that that that you know that that’s an issue you know because at this point in time if I’m a young player excuse me you know coming to a team I want to know who I’m playing for what the system is going to be like um you know all of those things now well I mean maybe not i don’t know maybe maybe I just I’m just happy to be in the league you know what I’m saying and and and I’m just going to come in and work hard and you know whatever happens happens you know what I’m saying um so you know maybe you know maybe it’s not that big of a deal to some of the younger guys that’s in the league you know i don’t know i don’t know i don’t know but the Knicks draft Mohamd Diwara they also make a move for another asset they get the rights to another player Luca Mitrovvic probably probably Vitch um you know not a player that I know who he is um you know have you ever heard of him no no but when I looked at his highlights for some reason I feel like I’ve seen him before or at least seen the team that he’s play he played for um I I don’t but nothing stood out um I can’t really tell if he’s a big or a center or a forward but he definitely plays in the paint he looked like a a slashing big if if if that makes sense um I didn’t really see any defensive highlights i didn’t really see any shooting in the highlights everything was really like pick and roll cuts to the basket um he does look ambidextrous um but all the highlights that I looked I seen they were short you know two minutes here yeah minute a minute here yeah i’m I’m I’m about to bring some highlights up on the screen you know to look at him a little bit um talk about ambidextrous you know this kind of off topic but did you see that there’s a young quarterback that’s in training who was ambidextrous the dude can go with both hands it’s crazy that’s kind of ill it’s real ill like like has there been someone like that not that I know of oh that’s that’s a game changer that’s a super game changer that’s nuts but anyway the Knicks acquired draft rights to Luca Mitchovich in their trade with the Los Angeles Clippers so the Knicks traded the 50th pick to the Los Angeles Clippers the Los Angeles Clippers wanted Kobe Sanders the Knicks got Mohamed Dawara and they also got the draft rights to Luca Mitch right so we’re probably wondering who we’re looking at and it’s this number nine guy mhm handling the rock getting inside doing some work uh you know not a guy any of us really know about or who he is but I’ll give you a a few uh few things about him he’s 32 years old well there’s there’s that makes a lot of sense why I feel like I did see him before i don’t know if it was the Olympics or what but 32 years old 69 225 so I don’t know if we’re looking at the right guy or not because this guy Does he look 6’9 he He I thought he would have been That’s why I said he’s not 7 foot so he he The guy I was looking at he could be 69 for sure i mean the guy I’m looking at is handling the rock he got What’s What’s What’s his uniform look like red and red and white uh right now he’s got on an orange and white uniform stripe no it’s not stripe let me see let me try to find it again 32 years old what we doing with him that’s what I want to know and and and and maybe he’s just a 6ix9ine guy that can you know that can handle the rock a little bit yeah uh anyway the Knicks acquired the draft rights to Luka Mitravich mitch M yeah Mitch guess I’m saying that correctly you know um so there it is ladies and gentlemen do you think Tony do you think it do you think it’s going to end up being a mistake you know I know some people are going to say “Hey this is the second round it don’t matter.” But you know Kobe Sanders um you know a lot of people think he could have been a sleeper do you think the Knicks might end up regretting that um I’m going to I’m going to say the Knicks did their homework right so um I don’t know about the Euro you you know what I mean the you said 32 years old chances are he ain’t never coming chances are he’s not coming to the He’s not coming i mean uh what’s his name came came at late uh Pedri yeah he he came at 30 or whatever age he was as you know he did or rookie something like that he did yeah and maybe there’s two Luca Mitraviches it’s very possible i might had the wrong guy up right now i don’t know actually I’m pretty sure there are two of them so So So then maybe this is maybe the guy we’re seeing is the right one the guy that’s handling the rock he got a you know what I’m looking He’s got a ponytail he He don’t move like no 32 year old the guy we watching right now does not move like a 32 year old so we’ll see luka Mitchovich ladies and gentlemen luka Mitchovich possibly a player with the New York Knicks you’re right house Fly said “I need to get Andy on the phone i’m I’mma get Andy i’mma talk to Andy and No andy and No we need International Andy in the building we definitely do need him in the building well the next steps man the next steps for the New York Knicks ladies and gentlemen hire a coach um get um hire a coach so we can get some things happen in the free agency and then of course we got summer league you know summer late anyway um folks that’s it for me cuz I got to get on the road i got a six hour ride ahead of me you know um I apologize that I got it in early i apologize I couldn’t you know cover the whole first part of the second round you know but I had to prepare for this trip that I’m about to take
