so could the Los Angeles Lakers be trading away Austin Reeves to the Memphis Grizzlies this 2025NBA off seasonason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Jiren Jackson Jr and the Memphis Grizzlies receiving Austin Reeves Dalton Connect Maxi Cleba and a 2031 first round draft pick so I think with the Desmond Bane trade going to the Orlando Magic a couple weeks ago now a lot of people are looking at the Grizzlies as sort of the next team that could be blowing it up either this off seasonason maybe at some point during the 2025 26 season and with Jiren Jackson Jr entering the last year of his deal which by the way is very team friendly I believe sort of around $20 million if I’m not mistaken he could command quite a bit on the trade market despite him potentially being a rental now in this situation the Lakers would of course be acquiring the best player that being Jiren Jackson Jr and he solves their sort of issues at the starting center position so I think having a lineup next year of Jiren Jackson Jr LeBron James and Luca Donic this can be one of the best trios in the entire NBA now Jiren Jackson Jr offensively speaking can stretch the floor he could be a nice pick and pop player with Luca i think the fit offensively it makes a lot of sense defensively speaking I don’t know not the best rebounder so maybe this is where the Lakers could go out there and acquire maybe more of a defensive presence to kind of I guess complement Jiren Jackson Jr with in regards to the boards but uh yeah could be a good fit there from the Grizzlies perspective I actually do like this trade package quite a bit uh the focal point of course is Austin Reeves a good young player i think that if he were to go to Memphis and perhaps be maybe more of a of a factor in this offense he could be you know given the keys to the franchise he could blossom into an all-star caliber player he has that potential daltton Connect a good young player was of course a part of that Mark Williams trade uh back at the deadline he could very well be a nice piece for this Memphis Grizzlies team to have maxi KBA is more or less in here to make the money work and that very coveted 2031 first round draft pick could be the steel at the end of the day depending on what happens with this Lakers franchise so truthfully speaking a really solid trade for both teams if I had to pick a winner of this deal I’m going to probably actually go uh with the Memphis Grizzly just because of the uncertainty with Jiren Jackson Jr in his contract i think Austin Reefs going there makes a ton of sense those are just my thoughts leave yours down below

You don’t trade Reaves to another West team. For Grizzlies perspective, you can do better than AR and DK to be honest. Like, they had 4 1sts for Bane, what makes you think they’d take less than that for a DPOY + All Star in JJJ.
Plus the Desmond Bane trade opened up cap room enough to sign JJJ to the max he can get. So no, they’re not blowing it up now. Before the trade, JJJ was for sure on the table, but now he’s not. I would love to be wrong and hope this is what the Griz would want, but realistically? We can’t put up a package that’ll even make them look.

With AR, I see talent. I see stability in a player. To even include Knecht and future drafts is insane. Draft Kai Sotto and another big to add the team size (Jemison perhaps .train him hard) , there goes your unbeatable team.
