New York Knicks Summer League Roster | NY Knicks Rumors, News

the 2025 draft is in the books and we are on to summer league and the roster seems like it is coming into form for the New York Knicks we’re going to break that down as there are some surprised players we got to talk about but first if you’re ready for summer league hit that thumbs up icon last couple of years it hasn’t really been something I’ve been looking forward to but with the rookies from last year a couple of these names I’m excited hit that thumbs up icon if you’re with me welcome in to New York Knicks now by chat sports i am your host Marshall Green summer league is almost here free agency does start Monday and we’re going to be live on the channel for Monday Tuesday and probably Wednesday as well breaking down free agency and I want to see you there so subscribe and turn those notifications on let’s start with the 51st overall pick for the New York Knicks mohamad Diawara the forward Frenchman he is expected to play in the summer league for the New York Knicks so we’re going to get to see him up close and personal and what his game is all about like you I stayed up all night last night watching every single highlight and clip and game film that I could see on Mohamd Diwara and I also started to listen to a lot of interviews as well he talked about how he thinks if he’s going to be a player in the NBA it comes on the defensive end he knows that is his calling card he even talked about look it’s something that people don’t want to do but I’m willing to do it cuz you can make a lot of money doing it and he’s got the athleticism and the size to do so clearly a project piece for the New York Knicks but he’s someone that’s young he has size and tools to potentially be a defensive differencemaker in the NBA and I’m excited to see him play in the summer league which is coming up in a couple of weeks shout out to the newest Nick Mohamd Diara his buddy Pomeier I expect to also be playing in summer league and I’m really pumped up about this one as well the secondyear player first round pick from France we saw some moments some plays and some spurts of some really good stuff from Dier in the regular season i want to see him just take that entire step going into year two i don’t want him to feel like a rookie in summer league i want him to be confident i want him to really just take over he should be able to do so you were the 25th overall pick you were touted as a guy that’s going to be able to score in this league and at 6’8 210bs a year older more mature wiser an NBA season under your belt I want to see take that next step on offense and on defense and I’m hoping by the end of summer league we’re talking about him as a standout i think Tyler Ko will most likely be there as well and we saw some moments from him where we were really excited about his future with the New York Knicks can he be ready to make an impact this year for the Knicks in the big leagues because that’s what you’re going to need that spot for the backup point guard is wide open and I think that he’s got the ability and really the basketball IQ to be there but it starts in the summer league and I want to see him just be the captain of that team set the table control the pace take care of the basketball get the ball to the guys in their spots where they feel comfortable and just be a point guard do what you did at Marquette and light the summer league up ariel Hucky i know we all love Ariel Huckporty and shout out to Walt Clyde Frasier who maybe said he compared him to uh Bill Russell kind of joking not really he did say it at least not what he meant but Hucky a lot to like about him he’s got good size almost 7 foot 250 lbs still growing into his body as well he’s got the length he’s got the agility his feet are really good he showed off that soft touch i remember when I went to a game in Indiana this year I could not take my eyes off of Ariel Huckport in pregame he looked like a seven foot Julius Randall with a better vertical an athletic freak we know he can make plays in the pick and roll i want to see him grow on defense be a leader communicate better continue to grow as a shot blocker and excited to see what he does in year two in the summer league we’re going to get potentially our first look at Kevin McCull Jr who had some injuries really all the way through his career at Kansas had a lot of injuries and the Knicks kind of just took it slow and steady with him this year but this was a player that a lot of people thought was a first round pick going into the 2024 draft but due to the injuries he slipped to the second round and there’s a lot to like about him he competes he’s got a high basketball IQ he’s shown the ability to hit the outside shot he could defend multiple positions he’s supposed to be a readytoplay prospect in the NBA and with the Knicks and their summer league roster Kevin McCull Jr Pome Dier Tyler Coick and Ariel Huckporty as well as Mohamd Diawara and a couple other names we’re going to talk about i’m excited for the summer league it reminds me and I’m getting the same feeling I had when it was Emanuel Quickley and Obie Toppen playing in the summer league so going to have some young talent young players on this team that you selected in the NBA draft in the last two years playing with really an identity of the team with those five guys so excited to see that and I think they could be pretty damn good i also expect Johnny Davis to potentially be a part of the summer league roster for the New York Knicks remember he was a lottery pick who played for Washington and then he got traded but he spent time in the GLeague last year for the New York Knicks and this is a guy that I really liked coming out of Wisconsin he was a bucketter in the half court he took tough shots he made tough shots he just didn’t shoot the ball all that efficiently in college and he hasn’t done it either in the NBA he did average 19 points per game in college like he can fill it up he is an offthe-bound scorer hasn’t really found his lane and footing though in the NBA i mean throughout his career he’s played in 112 games but he’s only shooting 39% for the four and 27% from three can he be a guy that the Knicks continue to develop and get better and better in this league we’ll see or as he reached his ceiling he’ll at least be a fun player to monitor in the summer league it’s being reported that James Nagi is likely to leave Barcelona pursue a career in the NBA and be a part of the 2025 Knicks summer league roster he was a player that was involved in the I think it was the Carl Anthony Towns trade or the Bridges trade i think it was the Towns trade off the top of my head but this is a guy that was the 31st pick in the NBA draft just a couple of years ago by the Detroit Pistons and I’m excited to see what he does and it sounds like he’s coming over for good new York basketball the best account on New York Knicks Twitter saying James Naji uh whose draft rights the Knicks got in the Carl Anthony Towns deal has told Barcelona he wants to leave and pursue the NBA naji almost 7 foot still just 20 years old a 7 foot five wingspan uh mobile athlete rim protector excited to see what he does and there were people in the 2023 draft that said he has some of the best tools of any prospect in this class so the Knicks hopefully getting maybe a backup backup center in Naji also another article here talking about how special of a prospect he was coming into it a lot of people really liked his size and length the defensive measurables and it sounds like he is going to pursue being on the New York Knicks summer league roster so that’s exciting on that note and you want to see these young guys who have talent upside athleticisms go out on the court and play in summer league so I’m excited for that one naji someone I’m really gonna be focused on he pops off the page and he’s had some success in the summer league before i think I actually wrote a note down um what do we got one game in the summer league was that 2024 10 points five rebounds three blocks four rebounds five blocks four rebounds five blocks james Nagi let’s see you light up the summer told me so go to chatports.comrealnicks marjan Bochamp is someone I’m expecting to be on the Knicks roster for the summer league as well he joined the New York Knicks at the a end of the 2025 season this is a guy that’s played in the NBA before he’s shown that he’s an athlete he’s been able to hit the outside shot a little bit um was a first round pick as well uh so I want to see what Marjon Boamp could do as he continues to develop in this league still just 24 years old so that’s exciting um yeah let’s see what he’s got as he uh is going to join potentially the New York Knicks summer i at least expect him to do so 24th pick in the first round drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks back in 2022 anton Watson someone that was also on the next G- League team and was on the end of the bench as well expect him to be there and you’ve got a lot of players that have played in the NBA already that are going to be or rumored to be a part of this summer league roster with Watson and Bo Champ and all the other players we’ve already talked about so that’s exciting i want to see what he’s got and I want to see this whole team compete like come on you got a lot of good players could they potentially win it does it really matter at the end of the day i don’t know but I’m juiced up to see it another player that is rumored to come and join the New York Knicks for their summer league roster is someone that a lot of people on Twitter seem to be excited about and once again shout out to New York basketball australia’s Bwale Bales i hope I’m saying that right i’m sure I did not so I apologize to him but he will play for the Knicks in summer league according to his agent the 23-year-old 6’1 guard played for Hawaii and has won two NBL championships he’s averaging 28.6 and a half rebounds and six assists for the NBL1 Sydney Comets so a guy that’s played professional before put up some good numbers going to try to find his way into the Knicks roster on the summer league and uh maybe even on the G-League roster as well look this is a squad that I think could potentially win the whole thing like Tyler Kook should be able to have his way in the summer league as should Ariel Huckporty can Pakome Doier be able to show off any of the goods that got him selected in round one are we going to see Kevin McCull Jr put some good games together is Mohamd Diawara going to lock some people up will James Naji shut the gym down with his athleticism a lot of stuff to look forward to and we’re even thinking about doing some watch parties for the summer league and if you want that to
