Kevin Durant TRADED To Rockets Is BAD

did the Rockets make the right move trading for Kevin Durant
when you’re talking about uh upgrading if we’re talking about Jaylen Green versus Kevin Durant then yeah you you upgraded but it all depends on what is your lineup you still need a shooting guard i mean if you have Aman at the shooting guard it kind of you know you got Jabari you still got the young big pieces where you can play at the three four five however you want to do that you were safe with that you still got them young boys coming off the bench that can put the ball in the basket with Shepard and
Cam Whitmore
cam Whitmore right so you you you got you got something my thing was you know with the PG you’re a small guard if I’m expecting you and Kevin to be the the pushers over the top I I think you need one more piece
what kind of piece
one I got to identify what is a man to me he is that freak of nature looks like he can do a little bit of everything do I treat him like Scotty Pippen put him at the point right i I’ll take the point out of him if somebody’s pressuring if we’re playing against Indiana or something like that but if there’s if you’re just sitting back there put him at the point he can use like your go downhill he’s big
draymond Green roll
you know yeah so he’d be like my point forward where you know then you know now the Shayes and all these big guards we don’t have to worry about doubling or anything because they they gonna pick on Lan V uh Fred then from there I need a experienced shooting guard

Why Gil’s Arena ISN’T BUYING The Kevin Durant Trade as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil’s Arena Crew react to the blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets and break down if the move for the future NBA Hall of Famer was the right call for an up and coming Rockets team. They discuss how losing Jalen Green to the Phoenix Suns leaves the Rockets with more work to do to surround KD & Alpren Sengun with championship level talent and analyze how Kevin Durant’s age puts H-Town on the clock to compete sooner rather than later. Next, they react to the blockbuster Kevin Durant trade that saw the NBA Legend get traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and a handful of draft picks and set the sports world ablaze ahead of Game 7. They debate if this was the right move for the Houston Rockets as they look to elevate themselves into the upper tier of the NBA and discuss what’s next for the Phoenix Suns after dismantling their superteam and leaving Devin Booker with a floundering franchise once again. Finally, NBA Champion Metta World Peace enters Gil’s Arena to give his take on the incredible NBA Finals, break down his experience playing alongside legends like Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady and reveal the truth on being the face of the D-Band. Please give us a like and subscribe!!!

Gil’s Arena premieres every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.

  1. Im hoping KD gets to play alot with the double big lineup… he'll get alot of good second chance looks with Adams and Sengun

  2. I disagree with Gil when he talks about positions. Always have.
FVF, AMEN, KD, Smith & Sengun is an outstanding lineup that’s problematic for any defense.

  3. They dont need no more pieces. They have excellent young dudes in Whitmore and Sheppard waiting to get more minutes. They have Adams as backup C and Eason as a solid 3/D guy. They have as solid of 9 player rotation as you can get.

  4. So now that KD in H-Town, where does this actually put them in the West? And what does this mean for San Antonio, who was in the mix for KD, and turned down two different scenarios that Phoenix threw their way.

  5. Rockets will regret the trade in 2-3 years. They will be a tough out next year but are not the favorites and right now. Teams have to build a young team to compete with OKC.

  6. U can’t act like they ain’t finish a quiet 2nd in a strong western conference…. Without KD , Don’t See How They Not Instantly Better

  7. Dillion was the back bone watch the team might not be better. When he was on Memphis they were number one rockets number 2 so let’s see

  8. What if HOU traded VanFleet and Whitmore and some picks to LAC for Harden….. that would be wild. Not saying I would do it but it would help the problem Gil is talking about. It could be a deep playoff run for HOU or it could be like Brooklyn when they got KG and Paul Pierce and everyone was just too old and their bodies couldn’t hold up all season.

U kinda got to go all in since they traded for Durant and bringing James back to HOU would be dope for the NBA

  9. They fucked up, KD is just ruining franchises futures at this point. Nets are rebuilding, Suns are rebuilding, after trying to “win now” with KD. Rockets should have just developed their core like the Thunder, Pacers, Nuggets… Jalen Green is gonna have a breakout year. KD is a great player but he’s only getting worse at this point in his career.

  10. I’m glad Gil is saying this. The KD trade helps the rockets but now they need a guard who can get to the rim at the very least and shoot.

They will need to add more because they aren’t where they need to be to be over the top (even if I think the west is wide open)

  11. They don't want Amen at PG because it wouldnt fully utilize his athleticism. Give the kid a moment to develop his 3pt shot and keep using him at SF or SG

  12. I say no! The Suns clearly won the trade! I think the Rockets pushed the panic button on this one! Jalen Green is only 23 and already averaging 21 ppg. He's only estimated to get better with age and experience etc. Rockets also gave up defense by trading away Brooks. Durant is almost 37 Lord Willing and is injured prone. Did Houston really get better with this trade? Maybe but better than OKC, Minnesota, Denver or Lakers etc? It's hard to tell but obviously Durant being 37 shrinks your championship window 🪟 opportunity etc.

  13. But upgrade what are we talking about Jalen green will never be the lead scorer on your team to win and dillions brooks is an average role player it’s freaking Kevin Durant we’re talking about

  14. On 2k25 I usually play Amen as a SF or SG. At SF he can be a defensive menace and he is good on the break. When at the SG he still has great Defense but is a liability from the perimeter offensively.

  15. Bari/Fred/Cam/ are all solid shooters in any possible way you can take a jump shot and Reed/KD are great. Off the catch/dribble, going left/right.
    Gil is out there man.
