Chicago Bulls UDFA Tracker: All The UDFAs The Bulls Signed After The NBA Draft Ft. Caleb Grill

[Music] what’s going on everybody welcome into the Bulls Report my name is Patrick Seatman and coming up on today’s show we’re going to be diving into all the UDFAs that the Bulls signed after the 2025 NBA draft we got some shooters and we’re going to break down both of these players here in a second but before we dive into it if you guys could hit that subscribe button today we’re closing in today and help us reach 12 a.5,000 subs so the first UDFA the Chicago Bulls decided to grab after the NBA draft was Caleb Grill an older prospect here he is 25 years old he’s played six years of college basketball and he actually started off his collegiate career back in 2019 at Iowa State transferred to UNOV went back to Iowa State for two seasons and then finished with two more years at Missou so this guy’s a six-year college player and this past season at Missizzou put up some decent numbers um 13.7 points per game 1.7 assists shot 47.2% from the field and 39.6% from downtown he was averaging around 2.7 to 6.8 three-pointers per game so he can definitely shoot the ball and he can score in a you know multiple or a multitude of different ways here um he can get to the bass he uses body pretty well um he does have a mid-range game and I think the one thing that he’ll offer the Bulls and specifically for the summer league team is just spacing out there on the floor um he is undersized for the position and tends to have defensive lapses but I think this is somebody who the Bulls would just you know bring in to help space the floor during the summer league because you do have an athletic wing now and Noah Sen who’s going to be playing probably a whole lot during the summer league and if you want to make his job easier allow him just more space on the floor to create get some shooters around him so I like this pickup of KO uh Grill here also awesome name KO Grill and he’s also got some sweet hair so I’m a fan of this pickup but I’m also a fan of this guy Wugga Popppler what a fantastic name um that is as well but played his last year at Villanova now he did start off at um Miami for his first three seasons of college basketball didn’t play a whole lot during his freshman campaign only 8.6 minutes per game but he jumped up to 23 his sophomore year 31 minutes his junior year and then this past year at Villanova almost playing 32 points a game but again this guy is a shooter as well each of the last three seasons in college basketball shooting over 37 and a half% from downtown putting up about four three-pointers a game and this past year at Villanova solid numbers 15.3 points seven rebounds 1.3 steals and he shot 46% from the deck and specifically this past season shot 38.7% from three and as is or on his career he’s actually an 84% free throw shooter also averaged about a steal of game as well throughout his first uh four four years of college basketball but both these guys both can shoot the ball um they’re both 38 plus percent three-point shooters their final year in college so I think this is just a spacing play for the Bulls because obviously you got a guy like Asen he you know one thing he can do very well even though he is a very very raw prospect he can get to the rim he can dunk the ball he’s a great cutter um and I’m curious to see who the Bulls are going to bring in for the point guard spot maybe it’s a DJ Stewart they bring him back um I know Bulls summer league legend Javon Freeman Liberty won’t be joining the group but that would be pretty cool as well also curious if Modis Buzzel is going to play at all i would like to see Bzeelis just for maybe a game or two you’re obviously not going to run him the whole summer league um but still I like the Bulls just add in these shooters here probably be your you know maybe your starting two and three guard um and they got a Si in there maybe a little DJ Stewart then the fiveman maybe Senogo’s back for the summer league but I just like the Bulls adding shooting um just helps space the floor in summer league and also summer league ugly basketball um a lot of these guys are obviously going 110% defensively trying to make a roster um and summer league hoops it is definitely the ugliest brand of basketball you will see so having some shooting out there definitely does help now if you guys want to welcome the new guys to the Chicago Bulls hit description of today’s show chatsports.com/bullscombo all right so Jake Weinbach tweeted this out um and he’s been pretty on top of uh the latest NBA rumors and he connected the Bulls to actually Bradley Beal saying the Bulls are potential landing spot for Bradley Beal as the Sun to actively explore avenues to part ways with the three-time all-star Beal does have a no trade cause in his contract but Phoenix is reportedly preparing to offload the veteran guard whether that’s through trade or a record-breaking buyout this off season so I was trying to just imagine what a trade could look like for the Chicago Bulls and with a guy like Bradley Beal and you know him having one of the worst contracts in NBA history it’s definitely tough to find out what a deal could look like so this is the best I could come up with you obviously got to somehow match his salary well thankfully for the Bulls Kevin Herder Patrick Williams their contracts combined for almost $37 million this upcoming season throw in Javon Carter he adds in that uh $7 million you can get to that $53 million figure just around it to make the trade work but obviously the Bulls taking on that contract taking on Bradley Beal one of the worst assets in the league the Bulls would be acquiring a 2027 first round pick now would the Suns be willing to offload another first round pick considering they just sent their 29 first uh to go acquire Mark Williams i have doubts on that but also I have doubts on the Suns just wanting to play Beal Jaylen Green and Devin Booker like those are three shooting guards that all need the ball in their hands and you just going to let them just all three of those guys go put up 20 shots a game i find that unlikely now could they just keep be on the roster and just be like “Hey you’re just not going to play we’re just going to have you sit at the end of the bench um and we’ll ride out this contract for the next two seasons.” But I think the Bulls should consider this deal like you’re not really giving up any valuable assets i guess you can maybe consider Patrick Williams um you know still being young could develop into a nice 3 and D player but we obviously have not seen that whatsoever and the one connection I was thinking about with the Bulls and the NBA draft and Bradley Beal well they traded down 10 spots to get cash considerations so could the be uh could the Bulls buy Bradley Beal out possibly where if you trade for him and he would buy out the $110 million left on his contract I find that incredibly unlikely that Jerry Rindorf would even consider that does Jerry even have that type of money to buy out Bradley Beal i have no idea but I do say uh I will say it was interesting the Bulls apparently it’s reported they picked up around two to$4 million from the Lakers to move down 10 spots maybe that was in their long-term plans where it’s like all right we’re going to move down we’re gonna go get a guy Lachlan and then we’re gonna go trade for Bradley Beal buy him out just to get that extra first round draft capital um from the Phoenix Suns but also if the Bulls do trade for Beal Beal and Billy Donovan they had a connection they played with each other um back when Beal was at Florida so I don’t know why the Bulls would be interested i would maybe only guess because they could get this 2027 first round pick but I’ll ask you guys what would you do would you accept this trade are you giving up Patrick Williams Kevin Herder and Javon Carter for Bradley Beal and a 2027 first round pick give me an A for accept or give me a D
