Golden State Warriors UDFA Tracker: Warriors Sign 6 Players After NBA Draft Ft. LJ Cryer

[Music] what’s going on Dub Nation you’re watching Warriors Today by Chat Sports i am your host Tyler Smith and the 2025 NBA draft is officially in the books but that does not mean the Warriors roster moves have stopped yes they have signed multiple undrafted free agents here in right after the NBA draft and we’re going to break those signings down on today’s show as well as the rest of the Warriors summer league roster that we’ll be seeing here in the coming weeks but with that being said if you guys want us to go live for summer league the California Classics coming up and we’ll have Vegas summer league as well if you guys want us to be live for watch parties here on the channel make it happen by going down below and hitting that thumbs up icon like today’s video if we can get five 600 maybe a thousand likes we might just go live for every single Warriors summer league game go down below hit that thumbs up icon the first player the Warriors signed to an undrafted free agent contract is LJ Crier and this is going to come on an exhibit 10 deal we’ve seen this with a couple different Warriors young players before remember Yuri Collins was on exhibit 10 um I believe Braxton Key was on exhibit 10 for a good bit and now they bring in LJ Crier the Houston point guard national champion at Baylor during his freshman season and he’s been a big shot taker and a big shot maker for the Houston Cougars man this is a guy who was depended upon day after day for Kelvin Samson’s group to go out there and create offense they didn’t have a lot of shot creators in that Cougar lineup and LJ Crier was easily the best to go out there and do it shot 42% from three-point range last season at um Houston and this guy like is is a legit defender as well like he plays both ends of the floor took seven and a half attempts from the beyond the arc a game like I’m a big fan of LJ Crier he’s been a leader for multiple seasons and I think that he can kind of carry that to this Warriors summer league roster that he’ll be playing with this season so I’m I’m excited a lot for this pick we talked about LJ Crier the Warriors previously worked him out in the pre-draft prospect process as well this is a scoring point guard but don’t make any mistake about it he absolutely can play good solid team defense isn’t the overall biggest prospect but he’s been in college you know four or five years like naturally these these older players who really have seen most of their production at the collegiate level not much NBA upside are going to slip into this undrafted free agent territory and LJ Crier I think he’s you know one of those guys where you kind of just look at what he did in college was a good leader put up the numbers to show it and put up shooting numbers that can potentially translate to the NBA level so I’m all over LJ Crier here i’m excited to watch him on the summer league roster also excited to watch in the back court Chance McMillion as well guard from Texas Tech who absolutely lit up the Big 12 this this past year received all Big 12 honors another exhibit 10 deal here for the dub so you can potentially see both of these guys both Crier and McMillion as a part of the Santa Cruz Warriors roster for next season so it’ll be interesting to see if they end up earning a two-way contract potentially down the line but at 6’3″ Chance McMillion is an absolute sharpshooter from Beyond the Arc took 57% of his shots this past year for the Red Raiders from three-point range and hit a blistering 43% from back there and was efficient overall from the field like he was efficient on his two-point attempts even though those were where less uh less than half of his shots were generated from and he really got a uh a chance to elevate himself in this Texas Tech lineup a little bit early in January when Big 12 play began and you know he kind of took that in stride and never really relinquished that you know top scoring option type of role with the Texas Tech Red Raiders like he was awesome as a movement shooter he also had the pull-up game as well so I’m excited for you know him to get a shot here with the Warriors summer league team god knows that this roster uh come 2526 is going to need some more shooting around the edges so McMillion 43% I’m not going to shake my head at that whatsoever and then Coleman Hawkins was the final player that Golden State did sign to an uh to a UDFA contract and it was at least the collegiate level uh he gets a summer league invite here we’ll talk about more of the international prospects that Golden State’s bringing on for summer league in just a little bit but Coleman Hawkins played uh previously at the University of Illinois was briefly a teammate actually with Warriors Brandon Pacheki so that’s pretty cool that they’ll get to reunite for a little bit here decided to transfer to Kansas State for an absolute bag last season i think he got like $2 million or something like that in NIL it was unprecedented type of money at the time especially for a player who I didn’t think was all that great at Illinois yeah he gives you a ton of heart he’s a team player through and through but I’m not going to lie if your best asset is you being a team player you probably don’t offer that much on the basketball court he is solid in the pick and pop game can hit the outside shot with some consistency so I I I don’t hate you know bringing him in as somebody who’s going to give you 110% effort on both ends of the floor for summer league if you want to make a deep run in Vegas then you’re going to need those guys written and grinding it out he can crash the glass and he can put the ball in the bucket at multiple levels and solid defender as well can poke the ball away active hands he had two two steals a game last year for the Wildcats and Jerome Tang so interested to see how his uh professional career will pan out we’ll talk more about the Warriors summer league roster in just a moment but make sure you guys get hooked up with the Warriors draft hats from 2025 the ones that Will Richard and Alex Tui were dawning last night get them at this link right here chatports.com/2025draft hats you can get the white with the blue brim you can get the royal blue all together i think these hats are absolutely fresh and I don’t usually say that about NBA draft hats i love the script doesn’t even say draft anywhere on the hats this is 365 days a year to wear get yours today this link right here chatports.com/2025draft hats i put that link in the comment section and description of today’s video as well to make it easier for you guys go get yourself a fresh Warriors cap today all righty let’s talk about it man Warriors Summer League is on the horizon and we are seeing the return of the California Classic once again we’ve seen this for the past couple of seasons and this year the participating uh teams will be the Warriors the Lakers the Heat and the Spurs and I think that these teams have been the ones um that that have been participating over the last few seasons i think the Kings have played in it a couple times as well but the California Classic games will include rookie schedule selected in the 2025 draft along with you know rest of the summer league rosters and you know last year the team featured Reese Reese Beakman Yuri Collins Trey Jackson Davis Kevin Knox who ended up getting signing in a guaranteed deal with the Warriors to end the season pajki and TJ D we know uh played really really really well in summer league to start last year and then Jackson Row and Pat Spencer were a part of it i’m curious to see if any of those guys who were part of that group will end up being on this year’s roster but if we have we have the schedule there at the bottom the Warriors first game will be Saturday July 5th at 3:30 p.m against the Lakes Show against Bronny James and all those cats over there aduierro will join the Lakers as well and then they’ll they’ll follow it up with a back-to-back game on the 6th against the Spurs and then then Tuesday July 8th they’ll wrap it up uh against the Miami Heat so looking forward to that and looking forward to seeing all of the Warriors draft selections get involved as well alex Tui will be a part of the Golden State Warriors summer league roster and look I was not too fond of the Alex Tui pick last night but after doing a little bit more research I I’m excited to see what he can provide man I he’s kind of a jack of all trades and really projects as a solid defender at the next level he’s got the the size profile to do it 67 225 like good enough size and length there uh to be able to defend players at his position but be switchable as well can maybe guard a two a three or potentially some fours in the small ball game as well and last year in uh his time in the MBL he was able to put up 11 points a game he can get out on the fast break he’s going to do well in dribble handoff situations as well so a solid you know archetype fit in the Warriors offensive system here movement you know doesn’t make the bad decisions can play within the flow of an offense and and run around the perimeter and and you know just kind of create spacing for his teammates so Alex Tui I’m excited to see what he’ll do especially on the offensive end and see how his creation will be in summer league as well also a part of the Warriors summer league roster will be Quinton Post and I did forget to put Will Richard in here as well but he is um going to be a part of the summer league roster as well we’ll talk about him in just a little bit but QP will be back as a member of Golden State’s summer league squad and I’m excited for this man cuz to be quite frank like he was a legit NBA player for Golden State’s uh you know end of season stretch where they were on a 60- win pace after making the Jimmy Butler trade so hopefully he’s only going to dominate the uh NBA summer league circuit this off seasonason and hopefully we’ll be back in the Warriors rotation as the either starting center or first one off of the bench next year it says uh per multiple reports that Golden State’s putting a lot of faith in QP for the next couple of seasons also Taran Armstrong who was on a two-way contract with Golden State who really showed some flashes with playing in Santa Cruz this past season uh he’s going to be a part of the summer league roster as well and was not a member of Golden State’s squad last season so I’m excited to see what he can provide and I’ll be honest with you guys I didn’t watch a ton of what he was able to do for Santa Cruz this past year but the numbers the counting stats look pretty solid it is a G-League so you got to take that with a grain of salt but I I’m excited to see what he’ll do against some of the you know future NBA talents that will be playing in Vegas and California will Richard we t we talked about and he’ll be a part of this team and I think he’s might end up being like one of the focal points of this war this Warrior summer league roster from a scoring standpoint and he can do it in multiple ways it’s a little bit of an in-between game also going to hit the knockdown uh shot from the outside yeah he shot at 36% last year people were saying in the comments section last night they were like “That’s crazy.” Like you’re saying that’s some sort of B like you know great percentage in college that’s really really solid that’s above average in college basketball this really really tight perimeter defense not as spaced out of a floor so shots from the perimeter are diff more difficult to come by at that level i expect him to though to really show his uh prowess as a defender on the perimeter at multiple levels can guard ones can guard twos can guard some threes as well plays bigger than his 6’4 frame believe his wingspan is 6’9 so he’s going to be able to get deflections and play solid defense get out in the fast break i think in summer league that’s going to be where a lot of games are won and lost in the transition game will Richard is going to be a big part of that bez and Bang out of Yale this is going to be a fun UDFA uh try out here for Golden State and the reason I didn’t include him in the previous graphics earlier is because we don’t have that in our system but shout out to the Ivy League player of the year Bez and Bang difficult shot maker out around the uh painted area can also hit the the jump shot uh from the outside from here and there off of the catch and he’s a really really good rebounder for his size at only 6’3 6’4 and he’s really really good at at playmaking like he was the driving force of back-to back um app NCAA tournament appearances for the Yale Bulldogs so this is a guy who doesn’t make bad decisions with the basketball and is a very high IQ basketball player with the ball in his hands so I’m excited to see him get a shot here as as a ball handler off of the Warriors summer league bench alex Higgins Titcha from Australia and look I I scoured the internet uh trying to find information on some of these international prospects that were brought in from for Golden State summer league roster and it was funny because like these guys were actually uh received summer league invites a couple of weeks ago funny enough so Alex Higgins Titcha I really don’t know all that much about his game but a 68 forward from Australia averaged six points four boards last year in the NBL he actually as a matter of fact was a teammate of Taran Armstrong there in the MBL uh for the Caperns or or whatever the the nickname is over there for that squad so that’ll be fun to see maybe the those two play a little bit of a two-man game in the Warriors summer league this offseason and then finally Leopold Delane Delane Deon may maybe he’s a Frenchman uh 23-year-old 6’4 player um was playing over in the French league last year and he averaged eight points five boards three assists i’m not going to lie don’t know much about his game but I had to bring you guys the news here about who’s going to be on Golden State’s roster so with that being said who are you most excited to watch on the Warriors summer league team this off seasonason is it one of the players that Golden State decided to draft is it Chance McMillion or LJ Crier the players that Golden State
