and tonight as you guys are very well very aware of the second round of the 2024 25 NBA well the the 2025 NBA draft took place and I got to say right off the bat I was scratching my head left and right at some of the decisions that other teams were making but as the the the 49th pick and the 58th picks came up I was praying You guys already know that I had talked myself into very specific prospects and I think that is a practice you probably should try and steer clear of and stay away from anytime the draft nears because your heart is going to be broken And let me tell you my heart was broken time and time again tonight That said I do appreciate at the very least the fact that the Cavaliers are planning ahead in regard to Sam Merrill It was always going to be the case where you’re probably going to end up losing one of Tyrone and Sam Merrell And so what did the Cavaliers do they went out at pick 49 and took Tyrese Proctor Tyrese Proctor for those of you who are unfamiliar very very capable guard very capable scoring option This was Tyrese Proctor during the 2024 25 collegiate season for Duke 12.4 points three rebounds 2.2 assists He shot 45.2% from the field including 40.5% from three-point distance Not the best numbers in terms of the free throw line but you know what i’ll take it You look at the player that he is potentially replacing in Sam Merrill and you say to yourself okay you know what the Cavaliers actually got a little bit bigger right not only in terms of pure height but in terms of wingspan too out there uh with Proctor having a slightly longer wingspan at 67 and a quarter uh than Sam Merrill projected as So this was a solid pick in my opinion especially with Kobe Brea my number one my number one want my number one need at that 49th pick as I felt like the second pick was always going to be slated to get a backup pick So without being able to get Brea who went to Phoenix if I’m not mistaken picking up a guard that could potentially be yet another Melo replacement was a solid move I don’t really have any issues with that In terms of what Proctor brings to the table or if you want to learn a little bit more about him he was a 2024 25 allac team member He had an offensive rating of 123.1 this season which is sixth in the ACC 100.6 defensive rating which was 11th in the ACC He had a true shooting percentage of 58.7% which was 15th in conference and he knocked down 89 total triples this year which was third in the ACC conference So he’s got a pretty well-rounded game and I think he would have fit rather snugly on that bench And word on the street is that he is actually going to be signing a multi-year contract and not a two-way deal which is important That is what is kind of signaled the end or the potential end rather of the uh Sam Merrill era in Cleveland That is to me what really kind of cements it Now it’s not it’s not set in stone It is not a foregone conclusion So I don’t want anybody to think that is the case but at the end of the day when you’re seeing a second round pick sign a multi-year offer and you already have the current contract situations with Tai Drum and Sam the writing is kind of on the proverbial ball This is what uh this is what I’m referring to right here You got fact that he will be signing a multi-year deal and not a two-way meaning he is going to in fact be on that roster which that’s that’s pretty big news I think that’s that all but cements the the idea that we are likely to see Sam Merrill Depart And this is no disrespect to Sam I actually value Sam a lot more than a lot of people out there do Uh but I do believe I do believe that this is one that could benefit the Cavaliers in the long run right not only are you going to be potentially saving money you’re especially considering the fact that had Cleveland decided that they’re going to say “Fuck it We’re going to pay both Tai and Sam,” you’re going to be going deep into the pockets of one Dan Gilbert which I don’t think that would have been an issue had they decided to go that route But that’s a lot of money that they could have been responsible for And so I think this kind of signals the end for Sam And again no disrespect to him Uh I remain a fan of Sam Merrill If he returns uh that’s that’s fine with me If not I can certainly understand why with this selection So it makes a lot of sense So I’m not mad at that pick at all Not mad at that pick at all because I do feel like Proctor can add to the equation in some form or fashion this year Now again you look the one thing that stands out to me for him especially in terms of replacing the production of Sam Merrill is the three-point shot right the efficiency for Proctor was there u you know at 40.5% on very good volume might I add at 5.8 8 attempts per contest So it’s not necessarily a fake percentage or fake efficiency This is real deal shotmaking He is a career 36.5% shooter at the collegiate level through his three years at Duke but he topped out at 40.5% That is what stands out the most in terms of the stats to me as long as Proctctor comes in from day one and he’s able to not be a net negative defensively and we already see that being boasted with the defensive rating right being uh being pretty high up there in terms of uh defensive rating 11th in the ACC conference As long as he’s not entering the a the NBA as chopped liver on defense and he can move the ball and you knock down that three-point shot off the catch and shoot he’ll be a serviceable role player from day one I think this makes a lot of sense and I’m very very um satisfied with the pick So I think that that was good But I’ll tell you this I will tell you this right now I am not satisfied with the second pick I am not satisfied with the second pick Listen I don’t I don’t want to mince words here I don’t want anybody out here to think that I am immediately writing off Saloon Nang I’m not I understand the process and what exactly they are intending to do I get it that is a draft and stash type of pick He’s going to be a project They’re going to monitor his progress overseas much like they did with Luke Travers and what they did for uh what they’re still doing for Khaliba Jop which I’m hoping to see him this uh summer league Hopefully we do as July 10th summer league kicks off But I absolutely I put a video out right before the draft What did I say if they don’t draft a big if they don’t come out of the draft with a big I’m going to lose my And that’s what I felt like doing watching that occur This is no nothing against Southern Nang Nothing against Niang at all And by the way I would be I would be remiss to point out the the fact that they just selected a player that has the name Niang We would there there’s nothing else needs to be said about that the Nang lineage lives on in uh in Cleveland Cavaliers lore But at the end of the day for the love of God I really really wanted them to select a big with that final pick at 58A You guys know who I wanted I wanted Vlad Vlad uh Vlad Golden Vladislav Golden out of Michigan Danny Wolf’s running mates over there in the front court Listen I don’t get it I’m scratching my head I’m thinking to myself okay Amari Williams is off the board I was really down in the dumps about that one Trust me Trust and believe You know I got my drink right here Trust and believe I was really pissed about that one And yes I understand that Golden is undrafted and you could potentially get him undrafted The Cavaliers felt as if hey you know we can get this guy uh we can get this guy on the undrafted free agent market That is possible It’s possible but it’s also taking a chance I thought that they absolutely needed to come out of this draft with a center Now they are betting likely full you know full steam ahead If they don’t pick up an undrafted free agent center what they are very likely to do is turn to the veteran free agent market where they are very likely to only be able to hand out veteran minimums and try and find a guy that can fill that third big role Now I’ve already mentioned names that will possibly be available right larry Nch Jr If you can get him to sign on the dotted line for the vet minimum that is about as perfect as it gets from a theoretical standpoint because of how versatile he is It makes a lot of sense It makes a lot of sense to go out there and get somebody that can play the four and the five And over the last couple of years over the last couple of years Nance has actually played more five than anything And he showed last year that he is very capable of spacing the floor very efficiently And I get it was a smaller sample size and I think around 24 games or so of action before he ultimately got hurt but he on paper at the very least theoretically Nance would solve a lot of the issues There are other names out there I’ve mentioned Bismbo is one of them There there are going to be a few different names that may or may not be able to be attainable for the vet minimum Now I think Kobe has put a lot of eggs in that basket because I do not want to go into next season Uh I do not want to go into next season with Dean Wade and DeAndre Hunter functioning as Sudo third pick It cannot happen It should not happen It is malpractice Malpractice for them to be able to uh for them to be able to go in and have to do that again They have to bring in a viable third big I don’t care who it is And that is exactly that is exactly why I wanted them to draft a big Listen we saw them couple years ago They draft and stashed it They draft and stashed Cleop He’s had a couple of injuries over the past couple of seasons uh playing overseas ball which is basically what happened with him uh the prior summer league He had a wrist injury and subsequent surgery that required him to miss the summer league I’m hoping that he is able to go and we’re able to see him in summer like this time around but even that we really don’t know Like and that’s why I’m like why the did you not take Vlad golden when he was there and I’m getting the news now that he was going to the Heat That’s what I’m pissed about Listen again nothing against Sulang It’s all it it is all good in regards to draft and stash I understand the strategic value behind doing that but man I think this was a this was sort of a failure I’m not going to lie I’m not going to lie I’m not going to sugarcoat it Listen this could be solved Maybe I’m overreacting a bit but I think that there were some value picks towards the end of that draft where you you very likely should have taken you should have taken a backup big a backup five All I know is that this they better figure this out That is all I know because that is not going to the strategy here is the strategy here just it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of the second round I get it The second round is always going to be a dart board You’re always going to be throwing darts Nothing You cannot expect everything to stick And I very very rarely expect a second round pick to pan out I very rarely expect that But in this case when the Cavaliers with this new CBA finding um finding value picks finding value picks in regards to the second round is becoming increasingly important especially when you don’t have as much flexibility Uh and the Cavaliers have none right they don’t really have any real draft capital over the next couple years that’s going to yield like ready-made championship level players They don’t have that They don’t have a lot of trade assets right now outside of Jared Allen and you know Darius Garland in in the future But at the end of the day that is what makes these picks so important If you’re not going to use them to facilitate a trade then making them you have to nail them And at least for Nang uh you know it’s a bit of a headscratcher in terms of what was potentially on the board still in Golden And so I’m going to I’m trying I’m going to try not to harp on that but I’ll just say this man I hope that they’re able to address that position If anything else because the Proctor pick I I I’m happy with the Proctor pick honestly after Brea went off the board I Proctor Proctor is a very solid pickup and I’m glad I’m I’m honestly glad to hear that he signed a multi-year contract I was I was okay with that But I didn’t want any more tweeners I didn’t want any more guys that are 67 6’8 trying to play the center position I wanted a real center And so I hope they go out there and do that because I can’t I can’t watch another game of basketball with Dean trying to function as the backup five And that’s not on Dean That’s a that is a coaching and roster issue Dean is kind of forced into that specific role at times And Tristan Thompson nothing needs to be said about that He’s just not the Tristan Thompson of both So I hope they figure that out That is all I’m going to say And now uh you just look at some of the veteran additions the veteran um options that’ll be on the market You look at some of the undrafted free agents and you’ll have to see how that plans out So I’m going to start looking at this in real time before we go to the chat here But I can’t lie to you guys I was I was very very taken aback by the fact that they did not uh attempt to pick up a big with one of these two picks I understand it I get it like being able to find a way to uh to stash certain players if you’re unwilling to pay them And the Cavaliers like they’re cap strapped right now They’re in the Second Apron Second Apron kind of a lot of things up But I mean you look at some of these teams out there and what they’re already doing Again Miami already signed C uh Steve Settle the third and Vladislav Golden right milwaukee got Mark Sears Those are two big uh three big names You you you got some more you know uh Cookie Heburn another guard that that went to the Toronto Raptors already You got uh Caderi Richmond who signed with the uh Wizards Hopefully Cleveland doesn’t uh doesn’t do nothing Hopefully they bring in at least a a big body as an undrafted free agent But man I’ll uh I’ll I’ll just I’ll just have to I’ll just have to pray about that one And again there are options on this roster in terms of some of the prospects some of the two ways from this past season I’m still a big believer that Naquan Tomlin can be an an option to potentially replace Dean Wade as a four because I do think Tomlin profiles is much more of a four at the NBA level than a three or a five So for me if you’re able to do that you’re able to get good production and you sign him to a standard contract um I think that is an avenue to potentially navigate the expiring contract eventually of Dean Wade If you’re able to go out there um if you’re able to go out there on the veteran free agent market and acquire a third big then you’re okay at that point But there are no real bodies on the roster as presently constructed that can actually play the five because Tomlin is certainly not a five Monty Bates he’s not even in the equation in terms of real front court positions Uh Jaylen Tyson is versatile but he can’t play the five That is it man That that’s really it So you have to you’re either banking on some sort of trade And there are bigs out there that Cleveland could potentially be looking at There’s Nick Richards There’s uh Robert Williams or Duop Wereath over in Portland There are a couple of names out there that we should probably be keeping our eye on Uh there’s Jaylen Smith in Chicago But we need a center a true big body center somebody with real size And that’s where I’m at That is where I’m at And so this summer league I’m hoping to see Khalifa Diab Hopefully he’s made enough progress for the Cavaliers to sign him to a two-way contract because he would certainly fit the profile but it is really a dart throw right now to speculate what Kobe Alman and company are going to do because you don’t have very many tradable assets in terms of contracts it’s really Dean Wade or Isaac Auroro unless you’re moving a bigger piece and I do not see them moving Max Struce or Jaylen Tyson in some deal or DeAndre Hunter uh or you that’s really it I mean if you’re not moving off a piece of the core those are your pieces that you’re going to be working with in terms of trades So it’s really just going to have to be veteran free agent pickups on this market And I don’t know how many of you guys have actually looked at that market but it ain’t flush It is not a flush market So I don’t know what the plan is in regards to that I truly do not I I’m hoping that Kobe does have some some sort of plan in place But when you look at some of the names that are available on the back end because you can count out Brook Lopez you can count out Clint Capella you can count out Miles Turner and Al Horford and Kev uh Kavon Looney you’re looking at the DeAndre Jordan’s and the Mason Plumbies uh Plumbley’s and the and the Jericho Sims and the Alex Linds and the Beyond of the world I would be very very very um thrown for a loop if they were able to get one of the bigger name guys And that is why Larry Nash Jr kind of appears in a lot of these talks That’s why people throw out Luke Cornett as a possible um as a possible addition But again you have to get these guys to agree to sign for less salad than they can probably make in other locations because a lot of teams over 20 plus teams will be working with some form of the MLE that mid-level exception And where is our mid-level exception likely to go or equivalent in money because of bird rights it’s likely to go to Tai So now you’re really just handing out vet minimums That’s why I wanted them to pick up a big tonight And make no mistake it did it it did not matter who they picked with that final pick They probably would not have been a guy that can actually play like playoff level menace this year He would not have been a day one contributor That’s the case But at the end of the day it you would have you would have had him in-house You would have been able to develop him for at least a year or two before he’s actually ready you could use him as your backup B So we’ll see Um it’s just really going to be interesting to see what they do So I don’t want to beat a dead horse here but it is just I was not satisfied completely with what I just watched That’s all I’m trying to say That is all I’m trying to say Proctor fine solid pick especially after Brea was off there But I I hated the fact that we didn’t get a pick And again I don’t want anybody to take this as me throwing shade at Solu Niang cuz that’s not the case This is a happy moment in this person’s life They should be looked at favorably by the fan base but at the end of the day it is still a draft and stash a guy that we’re not likely to see for a couple of years So it’s a tough one to swallow And there was a lot of reporting that this was going to be the case I I I just I did not want to make myself believe that I was heading into this draft with the hope with the hope that they would have taken at least one center And I do this every year guys Right I I I’ve been right about some of them right i was right about the Khalifa Jop pick Um I was right about the Isaiah Mobley pick I knew well that was kind of telegraphed but Dott wasn’t And I picked him as one of the guys the Cavaliers would probably have picked up and they did Jaylen Tyson too I had that one that pick 20th him being in that range but that’s a first round That’s a little bit easier to foreshadow or forecast Second round is always a crapshoot Um and maybe the expectations were a little higher this time around but I think that is simply a byproduct of the fact that second round picks are becoming increasingly important Increasingly important Uh that that is that’s where I’m at with this team That is that’s that’s where I’m at with this team It it kind of sucks to see that be the case but it is what it is at the end of the day as we see more of these names on the undrafted free agent market roll out Ryan Nimhard a player that was linked to the Cavaliers at one point signed a two-way with Dallas Miles Kelly two-way with Dallas as well Tamar Bates signed with the Denver Nuggets Eric Dixon signed with the Lakers I know a lot of people wanted uh that name in Cleveland and he was actually being mocked to Cleveland and in certain places Hunter Dickinson with the New Orleans Pelicans who needed another center on the roster I I really want to know what the plan is here if you’re Kobe Alman That’s that’s where I’m at And there’s a lot of people there is a lot of people in the uh in the fan base whether it be social media if you just pull somebody aside on the street and ask them like what is Kobe’s favorite archetype they’re going to be like 6’5 66 you know he loves his undersized wings or combo guards Um and and to me I think Proctor is one of those rare cases where it’s like okay you can see why he made this pick Very likely to lose Sam Merrill It makes sense So now the Cavaliers have to figure out how to fill out some of the additional spots on this roster because if I am not mistaken if they’re going to sign Proctor to a multi-year contract and not simply a 2A the on the cap sheet right now they will technically have um I think 12 rostered players Uh 12 to yeah 12 roster players not counting the 2A’s because as of right now it is Evan Mobley Donovan Mitchell Darius Garland DeAndre Hunter Jared Allen Max Streus Isaac Auroro Dean Wade Jaylen Tyson Juma Okke has a I think he has a player option or team option this year You got Craig Pter Jr and then Naquin Tomlin is the only 2A that is still under contract So if you take the 2A out you will have 12 roster players um once Proctor signs his multi-year contract So you have three additional contracts to hand out via the uh you know the active roster and then you will have two additional two-ways as well So what they do with those additional three spots on the active roster that is entirely dependent upon the undraft or the u unrestricted free agencies of Tai Drome and Merryill and we already think Merryill’s gone So take him out of the equation theoretically that you know even if you resign Tai you still have two open spaces One would think at that point after you just added another guard to the equation or another wing however you classify Proctor um that you would have to fill out the roster with at least one more big maybe two We’ll see Time will tell Uh just a lot a lot to take in This is this is quite quite a night I think that’s that’s probably a good time to go ahead and hop into the chat HJ17 game says “I just pray Kenny doesn’t try to play him at the three like Merryill.” Honestly people hate this but Merryill was quite effective as the three And I think that had Mel continued to play at the three the problem with Merill at the three is that sometimes he was overused there There was honestly if you look at a not even an advanced stat point or an advanced stats standpoint Merrill there was a lot of there was a lot that backed him playing minutes there not always ideal especially against specific teams but Merryill playing the three is a positive um a lot of the times and not necessarily a negative Um Proctor may be some may have some of the same utilization in in in that regard And Proctor is actually slightly bigger than Samo so keep that in mind So I wouldn’t have a problem with that But um we’ll have to see how Kenny Atinson uses them No cap OVO says “Let’s go Cavs.” Uh I don’t know if you guys can hear me Let me know in the comments please It just said my mic just got disconnected Can you guys hear me or I’m just going to keep on yapping Um but at the end of the day I do believe that when you look at some of these some of these moves that they’re going to have to potentially make I think we’ll probably feel better after what we just witnessed But in the moment right now no I don’t feel super great about both of these picks only one of them and that is Proctor Cameron Dobson says it’s a very good pick He moves well off the ball can play on the ball making it easier to move off Sam and he’s for the future too I agree Jeremy Johnson says he looks like he could eventually be comparable to George Hill I can see it Coach Fresh says “Why not TJ isn’t their game the same?” No not really Um you look at the stylistic differences between what Merrill not Merryill what Tai and what Proctor do there’s some overlap there but I think that they play completely different styles of of basketball even though they share the same height the same position Um I I still would think that this makes more sense in terms of replacing Merrill than it does for replacing Tai Bet Jordan says Sam underrated Yeah Sam is underrated This trust me this is not about Sam being a good or bad basketball player This is simply about dollars and cents This is about money and about the contracts that they can afford to hand out And I don’t think they would have likely paid both of Sam and Tai I think you kind of had to choose one or the other They hate Colin says long live I hear you Um_2 says “Gonna miss Sam Merrill.” And and again this is just pure speculation Um I don’t want people to think this set it’s set in stone It’s just this is what this pick alluded to Uh especially with him signing the multi-year deal there I suppose it’s still theoretically possible that he returns but I would bet if I was a betting man and I am um I would think that Sam is gone No limit Tuan says Vlad Golden Yeah too bad Too bad man That’s all I can say because Vlad would have fit in nicely as a project piece for this Cavaliers team that I could have seen playing as early as uh the 2025 20 uh the 2026 27 season I could have seen him that playing during that year Maybe not necessarily a day one contributor for Cleveland but I definitely could have seen him adding something to the equation Cameron Johnson says Nang is just a project pick Yeah drafting stash it makes sense on paper because of where the Cavaliers are at from a roster and cap standpoint Kuyu Paul says Golden at 58 would have been a good pick Agree I’m devastated Clearly I’m devastated that we didn’t get either Omari or uh or Golden Those were the two guys at uh at center that I would have been very happy with HJ17 game says Proctor Tyson and Tomlin summer league is going to be fun to watch It will It truly will And hopefully we get to add DOP to that group We’ll see Well Talking and Grubbin Media says “What’s up Mack what do you think about the picks some fans are upset because they feel we didn’t get an impact player that’ll help right away.” To me talking and grubbin I don’t think I can’t speak for all fans I can only speak for myself And the reason why I am upset specifically is because we did not draft a center I did not go into this draft expecting either picks to be day one contributors a true impact player What I did go into it expecting is that they would draft at least one center and they did not do that And that is why I am upset That’s you know again I cannot speak for everybody else out there but that is why I am upset personally They hate cons They did it for the memes Me Yeah Um no limit Twan says “I don’t know why Vlad didn’t get picked It happens every year Guys slip Um Eric Dixon was thought of as being drafted too but he didn’t get picked up So um as far as the the Cavaliers not picking him Yeah I’m pretty pissed about that David says “Was Golden still available at 58?” Yeah he was That’s why we’re all upset here Um Nate says “It’s okay We are getting Larry Jr because the Hawks traded for Pzingis and won’t have room to sign him considering their center death.” I would certainly hope that to be the case but it’s not set in stone Larry will control his own destiny Does does Larry accept the veteran minimum the hometown discount to play for a possible championship contender i think that is what we would like to see but it is not a given Far from it Jeremy Johnson says they didn’t draft Golden because there is probably going to be a Jared Allen trade Truly don’t believe that And if you do trade Jared Allen guess what you still have to acquire a center They’re not I do not see them moving Evan Mobley to the five full-time this year I I don’t know why people think that that is going to be the case but it’s very likely not going to be If you if you trade Jared Allen you still need a viable third big The the the problems don’t go away So there’s a lot of different things that the Cavaliers needed to solve and I don’t think they solved all of them tonight and they never were going to but I think they could have gotten a step closer tonight by drafting a center HJ H17 game says also what the is people’s delusion with Ammani Bates he hasn’t developed at all Now all I’m going to say about Ammani in this regard is that I am still a believer in his long-term potential but I do not believe that he is anywhere near rotation ready at this point in time I need to see at least one more solid amount of uh some one more solid year of development from him before I can go in and have confidence in him battling for the rotation Because as things currently stand it’s an uphill battle He is fighting an uphill battle at the wing with DeAndre Hunter with Jaylen Tyson with Max Streus And I know a lot of people don’t think Max is a wing but guess what his minutes are going to come at the 23 Ammani is fighting the uphill battle And you just drafted another wing another combo guard who could probably steal minutes at the 2-3 So Amani has no shot at cracking the rotation and he’s not even technically under contract right now I’m still a huge believer in his longterm potential He’s only 21 years old Only 21 Slick Sophistication says Jaylen Tyson need more clock with Craig Porter Jr Um yeah he definitely needs more time Um I think that if you’re if you’re Kenny Actton and you’re not giving him a rotation spot this year something has gone wrong It’s malpractice Yeah I think he showed enough in year one to take somebody’s spot in the rotation And this is entirely dependent upon like who has moved because Dean Wade and Isaac Coral could still be on the move or one or the other I think that there’s certainly room for Tyson in the rotation at this point He adds quality rebounding at his size I think he is an underrated uh ball handler Has potential facilitator written all over him um the outside shot has still used a little bit more work and then defensively he has a lot of upside there to be to turn into a potential two-way player and I think you only really do that through play So we’ll see Richard Hacker says Wade is expendable You got to be able to be able to um find a way a solution for somebody to take his minutes and reliably Oh we hope that Naquin Tomlin or somebody that they pick up in free agency can do that but there is no like ready-made solution on the roster just yet You’re banking on a whole lot of internal development HJ7 game says “Matt Tommen our only hope.” Yeah And again he is not a five right i do believe in him but he’s a four Eduardo Gua sorry if I mispronounced that says “Hey Mac there’s not much chance of getting a premium undrafted free agent without any two ways available.” So yeah it’s a bummer man It is a bummer And I keep like refreshing here to see like what has what’s occurring here in real time in terms of some of these um undrafted signings but uh I’m I’m not loving it I’m not loving it Atlanta just signed Eli John Yay Probably that name up But uh that’s another signing that just occurred Uh you have Rain Smith who just signed with the Denver Nuggets Yeah there’s a lot going on and it this is always the case after every draft This it’s not just the draft that you have to watch out for But yeah Big Jbone says backup bigs aren’t that hard to find The Pacers had Thomas Bryant hitting threes on us Bro I respect your opinion I do just like I respect everybody else’s in here But that is uh I cannot agree with that statement I can’t agree with that statement Yes it’s one thing for Thomas Bryant or uh you know I think it was Tony Bradley is or Tony Bradley playing minutes in the finals for Indiana I think Uh but finding a reliable backup big has been the bane of Cleveland’s existence for the past like three years Since Kevin Love departed it has been a real issue especially if you’re talking about veteran minimum level bigs It is not an easy thing to find that can help you contribute in the playoffs Nobody gives a damn about the regular season at this point It’s about winning in the playoffs And yeah the Cavaliers are probably more than likely going to go small come the postseason but you still want a reliable option on the roster in case you need to go to a more traditional size center And you know as much as I love Tristan Thompson and it doesn’t work It is it is harder to find backup bigs than that and he might make it look like it’s difficult but it’s it’s not an easy thing when you look at the options that are available in the cap space that you have You’re banking on guys signing We’re we’re sitting here right now talking about Larry like like convincing Larry to sign a vet minimum If you’re not signing Larry the options are quite limited And again there are some out there that I like but you’re taking a a big chance with all of them whether that be Bombo or Jericho Sims There there are options but it finding one that can contribute at a playoff level is not an easy thing to do Um and especially ones that fit what the Cavaliers need in terms of rim deterrence and rebounding Not a lot not a lot of them that come cheap do all of those things And you’re it’s always going to be you’re gonna get some flaws but finding somebody that can contribute and you know 10 to 15 minutes if need be especially with Jared Allen and Nebul’s injury histories If either one of those two suffer an injury you’re playing small anyway so you got to get somebody that can contribute 10 to 15 solid minutes And I don’t think they’re ever going to accomplish that in the draft this year Make no mistake but it would have been nice to at least bring another body in and just see what they got see how they develop over the course of a year or two I don’t know That’s where I’m at I’m happy overall uh with the Proctor pick but uh cannot necessarily say the same for the Nang selection and we’re going to have to wait a couple of years likely for that one to yield any possible results We’ll see I would love to know what you guys think in the comments below As always tell you if you like to reach out you know I can It’s Capar_Pod on Twitter Tik Tok Instagram YouTube and more If you want to be added to the Iscapabler Discord chat you know what to do Leave a rating leave a review send a screenshot set review to issum.com and I will send you set invite If you want to support the show in a small but helpful way consider becoming a member over on Patreon You can do so for as little as $1 a month You know you can do so for as little as $1 You never know how much you help support your favorite creators by doing so But even if you don’t I’ll still be here to make the content because I love this team and I’m hoping that they’re able to solve some of these additional riddles that uh that they have this off seasonason Whether that be finding at least one to two viable backup bigs whether that be an additional wing um it may not be the case anymore It may not may or may not be a need anymore since you got Proctor So we’ll see They got a couple roster spots open three after uh Proctor signs his contracts and it’ll be very interesting to see how they fill out the rest of these and who who gets a 2A and who doesn’t And I would encourage you guys to stay by your phones to see who is picked up on the undrafted free agent market by Cleveland because these things tend to happen very quickly as they already are for many other teams So keep that in mind as you’re uh heading to sleep tonight Thanks for tuning in Go Cavs

Let's go Cleveland !!!
Use okoro for 2 more years then bring Niang over
They should give DJ Burns another try to make the roster at this point for a backup center.
Shouldve got Hanse
WE WANT TRAVERS
Now read garland to Portland for Sharon sharpe
Both Tyson and Proctor are replacing Jerome and Merrill. I can see us signing a big guard that can play both guard spots like Malcolm Brogdan.
I totally agree with this video! For some reason We don't want to get an big
More players who aint gonna see the court AT ALL
Go get Jaylen smith
I love the Proctor pick! More athletic shooter and ball handler. Ty or Merrill is gone. The stash pick was probably about money?! I think they will sign a vet big. Im honestly not a fan of rookie bigs 🤷🏾
Sam is definitely GONE…..someone else will sign TY! Elevate Tyson and CPJ!
Still can’t believe how bad the Cavs blew it in the playoffs last year 🤦♂️
I think it indicates to me that they feel good about a looney/nance/capella vet min salary signing
Nance would be great healthy
he's complaining about the pick immediately before basketballs Mr Ilrelevant? 😂😂
what do they got? less than a 1% chance of hitting? Ginobli then practically nobody since in the last 2 picks of the draft. that's kinda like griping about the Browns 7th round draft pick
Every year I hear we got this rookie steal. And Every year that rookie only play if it is a blowout.
I really wanted a big, but at the same time I’m not too pressed about it because I don’t think they were really gonna give them minutes. Though I do think it’s a fantastic way to find potential affordable role players. I need Koby to be aggressive to get a backup big this summer or I will look back on this draft differently.
Nope
They’re are like 20 min contract bigs that are better than goldin and all the other bigs available
Plumlee!!
