Grizzlies Trade Incoming.. Multiple Team Targeting Memphis Big
there’s another Grizzlies trade incoming multiple teams targeting Memphis big Santi Alama with two players possibly getting ready to make the move to Memphis hi everybody welcome back to Grizzlies Digest i’m Tristan Harland back with you to talk more trade talk with the Memphis Grizzlies of course Santiama has been a guy we’ve been bringing up I feel like since the season ended that is a trade that is a possible trade suspect to be going to another team and before we get underway I want to remind everybody that 95.6% of you are not subscribed to the 4.4% of you now if you enjoy what you hear like what you see want to get more involved in talking about the Memphis Grizzlies our favorite team make sure you’re clicking that red subscribe button it’s everybody’s favorite price free.99 and I will continue to say that until that 95.6 6% is on the other side for subscribe so if you get tired of me saying that make sure you’re clicking that subscribe button like to get to at least 500 subscribers by the start of free agency i know you guys can do it you’re loyal fans just like your loyal fans of the Memphis Grizzlies so I believe we can get it done so yeah Santi Adama is a is again back in the trade talks i mean it seems like as I mentioned since the season ended he has been the number one guy that the Grizzlies were going to sign and trade away now myself I thought it would already have been done i thought it would have it would have happened before Desmond Bane got traded but such is life you don’t always get your predictions right ladies and gentlemen especially in sports just doesn’t happen also I want to shout out Williams Baptist University conference champions last season in women’s basketball they have two players by the name of Carmen and Charman Taylor so if you’re a Simo fan Simo women’s basketball fan more specifically be on the lookout for those those players because they are quite quite fun to watch also real quick before we really dive into anything I want to give a shout out to Joy Lee Mcnillis former Memphis University Memphis State University women’s basketball coach who retired as a Southern Miss basketball coach i senior coach great coach or some you know he’s coming up in the college ranks he’s somebody to be on the lookout for you if you’re in the college game if you like watching women’s college basketball I know kind of had a spike in popularity this last five years so that last name is someone to look out for but Coach McNellis was announced as a class of 2025 Memphis Sports Hall of Fame inductee so again congratulations to her wanted to bring it up since you know Memphis Grizzlies and the University of Memphis Memphis excuse me both play in the FedEx Forum both have deep connections to each other so again congratulations to coach McNelis but anyways back to the main topic of today’s video santi Alama now Santi Alama he again like I said like I’ve said three times now talk trade talk since the season ended and a lot of people want him to go to different teams other people want him to stay in Memphis um here’s one idea that I seen on Twitter that I wanted to kind of talk about um the Grizzlies do a sign and trade with Detroit with Santi signing a four-year deal at $56 million um Jaden Ivy expected back priists send Dennis Schroeder in a second round pick to Dallas while Kyrie Irving is down of course with the draft coming up which we’ll get into in our next video um Cooper Flag going to Dallas and combo forward PJ Washington to Memphis now that’s a loaded trade um Santiadama going to Dallas or going to Detroit sorry excuse me the only issue with that is is per the signing trade rules which I didn’t know about this until here recently you cannot add another player onto the signing trade a signing trade you can only add draft picks so maybe that’s something they look to do with the 16th pick who knows i personally want to see them use the 16th pick but again we’ll get to that our next video where I’m here on with you on Grizzlies Digest but speaking of PJ Washington real quick we’ll look at the stats real quick as my graphic decided to make a heel turn on me uh PJ Washington averaging just about 15 points a game just shy of eight rebounds a game and of course you see that field goal percentage just shy of 46% with 45.3 and his three point 38% now that’s what the Grizzlies have needed they needed a Ford that could shoot of course with Luke Canard not coming back uh Santi Odama looking to be traded desmond Bane now in Orlando seems like the Grizzlies need a Ford that can really shoot the ball of course this is all rumored to happen nothing is guaranteed now and and I got a little something I want to get off my chest real quick earlier on Twitter if you guys are paying attention NBA Central put out a tweet about the betting odds of where Bam Adabio was going to go he’s not coming to Memphis sorry he’s not they A Memphis can’t afford him b they’re not trading Jiren Jackson Jr for for him and C they’re not trading John Morant for him indeed this is the same team the Miami Heat for those of you that don’t know that just told Kevin Durant no or I’m sorry the Phoenix Suns know when they wanted Bam or Tyler Hero for Kevin Durant kevin Durant who is a multi-time MVP and they said no when the Suns wanted either Hero or Bam Adabio so if the if they’re telling the Suns no for Kevin Durant there’s no way Bam Adabio comes to Memphis now would love to see it but there’s no way so don’t buy into those rumors don’t buy into those theories because that’s all they are is they’re theories and it’s just people who run social media accounts that are bored because the draft is coming up and they don’t have nothing else to talk about but nonetheless that was one hypothetical with PJ Washington coming to Memphis now again that would be a fantastic pickup for Memphis getting that three jiren is a stretch four jay Huff as your starting five for a little while so Zach Editi gets off the injured list and hopefully he’s not in any other sort of predicament if you know you know with him getting pulled over going over 100 miles an hour and a 55 mph limit edy what are you doing brother but another another move that was rumored to happen in the NBA was with the Sacramento Kings as I hit the wrong button excuse me h it’s sports ladies and gentlemen we’re working non-stop draft night is just upon us and we’re trying to get as many many many many many videos out so that we have stuff to talk about leading up to the draft but anyways the Sacramento Kings have reportedly been shopping Malik Monk and Devin Carter on the trade market per Mike Scott now again this is coming from NBA Central where he said quote where they said quote the Kings have expressed a desire to acquire a first round pick in the 25 NBA draft league sources told hoops hype amid those conversations Sacramento has gauged the trademark it on guards Malik Monk and Devin Carter sources said now here’s a here’s a crazy theory here’s a crazy idea for those of you that are watching Send Santiama to Sacramento send Santiama to Sacramento again this is going into a possible possible hypothetical here because I just said I want the Grizzlies to use the 16th pick send Santi in the 16th round pick to the Kings and get Malink Monk and if that doesn’t work throw Santi to uh to that Detroit deal the three team trade deal and possibly look to give Cole Anthony the or send Cole Anthony to the Kings and get Malik Monk now a Malik Monk a lot of people were kind of like “Oh no the Grizzlies don’t need Malik Bunk they don’t need a guard they they need a four they need a center.” Blah blah blah blah blah but again here’s the thing if Jaden Wells is your starting two that’s fantastic jaden Wells has been proven in the league that he’s a consistent scorer that he can be there where the Grizzlies need him most but if he is still injured you’re going to need somebody to start the season out at the two now I know Contavius Cwell Pope technically is a guard can also play the three but if you’re looking at putting KCP at the three you still need a two you still need a five and Jiren being at the four so you have J you have Jaw at your one question mark at year two KCP at your three Jaw or Jaw Jiren at your four and possibly Jay Huff to start the season at year five jay Huff didn’t get the love he deserved he’s a great player even if the Grizzlies take a center with the 16 pick and they do not move it or trade it for an asset we’re gonna put Jay Huff there just for haha some funnies for right now so bear with me but Malik Monk a guy who’s from from close by in with Bentonville Arkansas being just just around the corner gra played high school there graduated high school from there um family’s from there now of course he didn’t play as college ball at Arkansas but he’s got roots near the Memphis area and I know Bentonville and Memphis they’re a while ways from each other but crazier things have happened trust me lived in Memphis live in Arkansas now graduated Arkansas State it’s all one big happy family but anyways back to the main point is that Malik Monk averaging 17 points a game shoots just about 45% on corner threes he’s getting 82% of his threes off assist shooting 44 point 44% from the field i I mean what more can you say you want from the guy i mean now again I want to remind everybody all this is hypothetical i am not on here saying the Grizzlies are going to trade for Malik Monk i’m not saying the Grizzlies are going to trade for PJ Washington i’m not saying the Grizzlies are going to trade for Giannis onto the Kumbbo or send Jiren or Jaw in a package deal for God himself i’m not saying that what I’m saying is this the draft is right around the corner 16th pick we’re going to get into that later what do the Grizzlies need to do as I’m for whatever reason tearing up what do the Grizzlies need to do everybody’s torn with that answer they need a two they need a four they need a five they need a three they They need a new coach they need a new mascot they need They need a better stadium or arena grizzly Saints are torn let me tell you they are torn but if you ask me in my unbiased honest opinion when it comes to being a Grizzlies fan we’ve seen this before going into free agency the number one priority is going to be to extend Jiren Jackson’s contract next season it’s going to be to extend J’s contract they’re not going to trade him away they’re not going to do anything that will ruin the chances of extending Jire and Jackson Jr now I want to repeat that because I am confident in that they will not do anything they being the Memphis Grizzlies front office will not do anything to jeopardize the ex the extension of Jiren Jackson Jr former defensive player of the year now if you see any reports on social media that they’re going to trade Jiren Jackson Jr they’re false i can confidently say that there is the only way Jiren Jackson Jr gets traded from Memphis is if it’s an offer they can’t refuse and there’s not a lot of offers that Zach can’t refuse right now two names to possibly look at being in a Memphis Cruisers uniform come opening night is PJ Washington or Malik Monk now if you ask me personally I think Malik Monk is the better option now again a lot of people were torn on that idea but for me personally I would love to see Malik Monk in a Grizzl jersey i can’t tell you how many times over the years playing NBA 2K I have somehow someway got Malik Monk on the Memphis Grizzlies roster whether that’s in free agency trading assets away and it being second round picks whatever i I would I would love to entertain that idea now again possibilities are endless in the NBA right now i don’t want to say that I am a source for any trades i just bringing up hypotheticals and interested to discuss that with everybody here so again if you enjoy what you hear enjoy what you see and you you wanna you wanna you want more you you just want a little bit more 95.6% of you are not subscribed now the last time I was here on Grizzlies Digest talking to you guys I saw some comments saying you enjoyed what I had to say that you clicked the subscribe button to those I say thank you and I see you for those of you that are enjoying it that you didn’t comment that you’re kind of on the fence about whether or not you want to subscribe or not trust me once again it’s everybody’s favorite price of free.99 so make sure you’re clicking that subscribe button because hey breaking news All the kinks are gonna get worked out my friend. Those little hiccups are to be expected. You’re up and coming. I sense big things ahead for you. Keep grinding
You cannot do a SNT with current draft picks for all intensive purposes. It is illegal to discuss contracts until FA opens making a SNT impossible to agree to. Now once FA opens you could trade the draft rights in a SNT, but that almost never happens. If we want Washington it likely is something like Clarke/16. Really don't see the point though since he is an expiring and is a 4/5 and wants to start and get a new big deal. Monk as a 6th man would be ok, but don't know if I give up 16 for that role.
Ok. Watching u know. Jus found. 🤷🏽♂️😂👍🏾
Jarrett Allen at Center. Derrick White or Malik at 2 guard and maybe keon ellis or ben Sheppard as a bench wing behind KCP. That's who they should target. We don't need a third option. We need role players that balance out Ja and Jaren. Sorry Jaylen Wells, Edey and GG are backups.
R.I,P Joy Lee-McNeilis
Aldama, the 16th pick, and a future 2nd rd picks for Trey Murphy III
Monk ain’t shit
I don’t want to see him leave this would hurt a lot. JJ is not as good as him and ja morant is too young and dumb who can’t stop using guns and can’t be a pg13 type of blue collar player. He makes the organization looks bad.
