so could the Miami Heats be trading away Andrew Wiggins to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a tweet from NBA trade report on X which says the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heats are engaged in trade talks centered around Andrew Wiggins nothing is imminent but both sides are motivated to complete a deal so there’s actually been a lot of reporting the last you know I would say 24 to 48 hours regarding uh you know Andrew Wiggins and his time maybe coming to an end in Miami the Lakers at this point seem to be the most interested in him but I’m sure there’s lots of other teams out there calling the Heat wanting to maybe see what the framework would be for an Andrew Wiggins trade now from the Lakers perspective Andrew Wiggins would be an upgrade for them um especially to if you want to slide LeBron James maybe to the four um have Luca play the one Austin Reeves of course play the two i think at the number at the three-hole for him as a as a small forward uh Andrew Wiggins kind of is a bit of an upgrade for them there i think offensively speaking if he’s a third or even a fourth option offensively that’s probably a perfect thing for Andrew Wiggins to go to kind of like his time back in Golden State a couple years ago when he was an NBA champion so he knows what it’s like to play in that role um I think that if the asking price form wasn’t too significant this could be a good trade for the Lakers to make now the flip side of that coin is that the Lakers need to address the starting center position a little bit more so in my opinion than the starting small forward position now if they were to trade for Andrew Wiggins could this potentially lead to them flipping Austin Reeves for a starting center it very well could so I’m curious what the domino effect would be for the Lakers after making this deal does an Austin Reeves go for a player like Jiren Jackson Jr or something around that line so I keep an eye on that happening now from the Heats perspective they want to make a move they want to acquire some good talent um I think maybe in a perfect world they would want to go after maybe a larger package here but if they’re able to get rid of Andrew Wiggins’s contract which is somewhat expensive uh and he does have a player option next year as well and if they’re able to get back some good depth maybe some draft capital which they could maybe then flip for a different package down the road this could be a good move for them as well so one of those trades that if it were to happen I’m curious more about what the domino effect would be uh but what do you guys think a Lakers uh Andrew Wiggins rate looks like leave your leave your thoughts
