so could the Boston Celtics be trading away Derek White to the Toronto Raptors this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a tweet from Legion Hoops on X which says “Report the Toronto Raptors have offered a package to the Boston Celtics that includes the number nine overall draft pick for Derek White per Brett Seagull.” So leading up to the 2025 NBA draft which actually does take place tonight um at the time that I’m posting and recording this video this trade’s going to happen relatively soon if it were to happen of course to include the ninth overall draft pick or else it’s not going to probably happen now I don’t think the Boston Celtics are actively shopping Derrick White but there has been some reports especially two following uh the trades of Drew Holiday and Chris Sporzingis of them getting a lot of interest in Derek White and them fielding quite a bit of calls so I guess if the asking price is right in this situation in a you know a top 10 pick in a pretty deep draft uh maybe some other good young assets whatever the case may be could this potentially be enough uh for the Raptors to pry uh Derrick White away from the Boston Celtics i guess only time will tell from Boston’s perspective if they want to get even more draft capital uh get more young talent whatever the case may be the Raptors do have that at their disposal uh they have some draft picks they have some good young talent uh that they could include i would imagine that RJ Barrett would probably be involved in this deal as well so I’m not sure if there could be a deal to be had here especially with two Eastern Conference rivals but uh Dererick White if he is dealt could be going to Toronto as they’re willing to trade away the ninth overall draft pick as they of course were in the Kevin Durant sweep stakes and if they’re able to pivot to a younger pretty solid defender in Derek White who could potentially be the point guard of the future for this team that could be a good move if they’re able to keep players like Brandon Ingram Yako Purle and Scotty Barnes and they throw Derrick White into the mix there the Raptors got a pretty good young core for next year and they could definitely thrive and develop as a team and potentially be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference if they were to make this deal so very fascinating stuff what do you guys think a Derek White Toronto Raptor trade looks like for happen leave your thoughts thanks again for watching and I’ll see you in the next one
