NBA Draft 2025 Instant react: San Antonio Spurs select Dylan Harper at No. 2

hey this is Joe Garcia with the instant reaction with the Spurs selecting Dylan Harper at number two first of all it was not a surprise many reports heading into tonight’s uh drafts were saying that the Spurs are going to keep number two and they did just that getting Harper just adds another dynamic player guard the Spurs can use in their rebuild a player who was pretty much positionless can play the one can play can play the three can play the four he’s exactly what the Spurs need in this positionless NBA look we all know what he can do right he has a step back shot he has spins he has steproughs he has elite ball handling skills he can finish at the rim his upside is incredible 19.4 points per game 33% shooting from the three 4.6 rebounds and four assists last season with Rutgers he has a wingspan of 610 and he’s just 19 years old spurs definitely have themselves an instant impact player to pair with Wimbeyama Fox Castle and the rest of the crew in San Antonio this is huge this helps propel the Spurs as just a big step forward out of their rebuild and possibly possibly a play or a playoff spot next season as I mentioned his upside is incredible he’s getting coms to guy like Kade Cunningham he went to his father Ron Harper which is not a bad NBA player nevertheless the Spurs are knocked out of the park it was an easy pick uh he is the consensus number one guard in this draft the Spurs did right getting him at number two look whatever happens now with San Antonio with that three guard rotation look they’ll figure it out it’s a good problem to have either that means having Castle come off the bench uh next season or having a player like Castle come in and give Fox a break give a guy like Harrison Barnes or Deon Villa a break it would just be an instant lethal weapon for the Spurs to have whether on the bench or starting as the season progresses so once again yeah a A+ grade for the Spurs i mean dare I say maybe they got the best player in this NBA draft and not flag number one yeah so we’ll see how this pans out again this is Jeff Garcia here at Lockdown Spurs as we’ll have a show coming up tomorrow regarding what the Spurs did in the first round of the NBA draft make sure to subscribe to Laon Spurs wherever you get your favorite
