Reality is he just isn't/wasn't that guy. You can't build a championship around him. He chokes in the playoffs and doesn't play defense. The only way he can win a championship is if he's not the best player.
Problem is… Harden is a great 6th man. Regular season stats never translated well into playoffs. Take Kobes 81pt season. Out on the first round against the suns. Its how it is, his gotta facilitate and learn to be more of a vocal leader in the game, but his always so quiet and passive. Its hard when the leader of the team is scoring 35plus but doesn't say much during playoff moments. Even Duncan and Kawahi talk in big moments. Harden is best coming off the bench as just a pure scorer, he excels at it. Then defense wont be able to double him and he can have more success being a second unit leader who doesnt necessary need to lead the team.
I think some nba players don’t care about winning a championship because they are making so much money but there is a few players who do really want to win
