Hawks Trade For Kristaps Porzingis, Sending Terance Mann, Georges Niang To Celtics & Nets

the summer of trades continues to happen ladies and gentlemen kristoff Porzingis Kristoff Porzingis is heading to Atlanta boston Atlanta and Brooklyn are finalizing a three-team trade that sends Kristoff Porzingis and a second round pick to the Atlanta Hawks terrence man and Atlanta’s number 22 pick in the 2025 NBA draft goes to the Brooklyn Nets and George Niang the hometown kid heads to his childhood team if you guys didn’t know I interviewed George Niang last year and he told me he couldn’t say because he was under contract but he said it would be cool to play in front of his home squad and now he gets a chance to play in front of his hometown team yes Kristoff Porzingis is heading to Atlanta and I like this regardless if they extend him or not they now have a fiveman rotation of or six-man rotation of Christoff Porzingis Jaylen Johnson Zachary Reese Dyson Daniels Trey Young Onako Congu and that’s awesome they’re going to probably bring back Harris Leverts for Boston they just got rid of salary and they got themselves a shooter i think Boston did as best as they could but Atlanta had been scouring the market to take themselves into a position to be able to be a team that contends cuz that’s what Quinn Snyder and Trey Young want and now they can do that by doing this deal the Boston Celtics are now at a projected $180 million in tax penalties as this gets them below the second apron and that’s all that they wanted so with the rest of this I think the biggest thing is that you’re going to look at is Atlanta is a team that now has everything going their way as we mentioned earlier Terren man George Nang out of the window they still have Kobe Buffin they still have as I mentioned earlier Dyson Daniels or Neko Kongu Jaylen Johnson Zachary Reese and Trey Young they have V Cr they have themselves Don Barlo Mo Gay and they this is wild because the deal of Terrence man and George Niang gets you to about 23.7 and I think the biggest thing is if you’re going to look I think the biggest thing here is this is Atlanta trying to become contenders trying to build around Trey Young while I think the the Boston Celtics are keeping their window open while also gaining calf flexibility and jumping through the hoops that is salary cap gymnastics that was created as a result of the second apron now what I find most interesting is does this push them over the edge I think if they’re healthy maybe if they’re not it becomes a lot more questionable but man this Atlanta Hawks team seems scarier and way more loaded also Terrence man did I say Treyman I meant Terrence man ladies and gentlemen not Terrence but yeah let me hear your thoughts down below in the comments section what’ you guys think of this And if you guys did agree with me that this is a wild one as they’re trading I think this is a great deal if anybody won this deal I think both teams won but the team that won the most it was the Atlanta Hawks because they took that that step to trying to be a competitive team so that’s my two cents let me hear y’alls bye

Cyro Asseo breaks down the blockbuster three-team trade that sends Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks from the Boston Celtics, with the Brooklyn Nets also involved. The Hawks acquire Porzingis and a second-round pick, while the Nets land Terance Mann and the No. 22 pick from Atlanta. Boston receives Georges Niang and a second-rounder, clearing nearly $30 million off their payroll and moving out of the second apron.

Porzingis, on a $30.7 million expiring contract, averaged 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.5 blocks last season—despite missing significant time due to health and conditioning issues. Brooklyn now holds five first-round picks (Nos. 8, 19, 22, 26, and 27) in the upcoming draft, setting up for a major youth movement.

Stay tuned for a full breakdown of what this trade means for the Hawks, Celtics, and Nets heading into next season.

  1. I'm expecting the Hawks to make the 2nd Round of the Playoffs as a minimum, provided Jalen Johnson and Porzingis stay healthy during the playoffs. Big year for Risacher as everyone will see take the next step and his cutting will be even more of an advantage with someone of the skill and intelligence of Porzingis in the team
