so the Raptors have parted ways with Messiah one of the most respected front office people in the game today and I understand where they’re coming from After the 2019 Toronto Raptors chip nothing really was the same Oh man that was a I didn’t mean to do that reference My only thing is that I think the timing is crazy Doing this a day after the NBA draft What and I’m just a guy I’m not an expert but this has all the symptoms of a surprise because the social media team has him smiling talking to the people he just drafted That was like a couple of days ago This I I don’t know I’m not a I’m not an expert I’m not I’m not insider It feels like it’s a surprise The city of Toronto Raptors fans and a lot of NBA people around will have a lot of respect for that 2019 Toronto Raptors championship run Messiah brought a great culture to Toronto And my favorite thing is the Messiah prospect where it felt like any 68 or 69 guy with high defensive upside and could handle the ball a little bit but like had trouble shooting we’re like “You’re a Raptor bro We We all know it We all know it You’re a messiah you’re a SAI guy you know like but I’m sure he’s going to be able to find work anywhere else in the NBA if he wanted to

    I think Masai had something really interesting going on with the roster with their switchable, 6'8, 7'+ wingspan idea before they traded Pascal Siakam away, and I think they just needed a few more seasons to see where the experiment led, but Masai (or FO pressure, I'm not extremely familiar with the situation) just seemingly gave up on it and they just seem aimless at the moment.

    I'm kind of bummed to see him go as a Nets fan. It's rare that a GM can hype up a rivalry successfully but he fucking nailed it. 'Fuck Brooklyn' will go down in history.

    Imo this is a perfect example of why the North American ownership model for pro sports is so flawed. Masai had issues with the executive chairman of the company (Rogers) that owns the controlling shares of the group that owns basically all of Toronto’s pro sports teams (MLSE), in what world does that make sense? Not a soul in Toronto wanted Masai out so why does that one suit get the right to kick him to the curb? I hope he brings success to another team. Very disappointed with the whole situation

    Masai is an African and a very proud one. Whether or not he knew about getting fired it DOES NOT MATTER. He will not put or sob or not do his job. Masai was actually aware they were letting him go it just speaks HIGH HIGH VOLUMES to how he was grown up and his total character. Masai is an amazing person and a gratin leader

    Raptors got sold from BELL to ROGERS.
    Rogers owns the blue jays . See their lack of success from 2001. But yea NEW wonder ship came in town boys
    For reference Bell and and Rogers are telecommunications companies in Canada. Two of the biggest and they are rivals

    If you know Toronto sports ownership like fans of Toronto sports teams know them, this isn't at all surprising/out of the ordinary. If you're inept, they'll keep you until you die.

    Basically… Rogers Telecommunications bought all of the sports teams, and now they fired all the GMs and team presidents. Maple Leafs, Raptors, TFC… Everyone's fired. It's down hill from here😢

    It makes me so frustrated that they’re sending him out this way. He deserves more for sure and I’m sure he’ll find success elsewhere
