The Houston Rockets Look Dangerous After Kevin Durant Trade

The Houston Rockets Look Dangerous After Kevin Durant Trade

kevin Durant’s voice was heard around the league not only with the Suns but really everyone his preferences were prioritized to an extent his two preferred destinations the Houston Rockets and the Miami Heat essentially competing against each other and the Rockets made the best offer with Jaylen Green Dylan Brooks but most importantly the number 10 overall pick the NBA draft is on Wednesday it was very important for them to get this deal done before that point but listen around the league make no mistake the Houston Rockets made this trade because they are in win now mode they want to go win a championship the Houston Rockets just blew up one of these super teams in the West to potentially form another one after getting to the second seed and taking the Warriors to seven games the Rockets had one thing on their mind this off season that was to acquire one of the greatest players of all time and still one of the top players in the league 15time all-star Kevin Durant while the trade can’t be formalized until July 6th when the new league year begins everything else about the trade has already been finalized in return for Kevin Durant the Houston Rockets have sent former second overall pick Jaylen Green former Memphis antagonizer Dylan Brooks this year’s 10th overall pick and five second round picks early indicators point to the Rockets getting a huge win in the trade but that hinges on this one specific aspect which could flip things completely upside down we’ll discuss that further on in the video but did the Rockets make a mistake in trading Jaylen Green what about Phoenix did they make a mistake not getting more for Durant two lottery picks Dylan Brooks and five second rounders doesn’t sound like much but Durant is about to be 37 years old in a couple of months either way what we do know is things weren’t sweet inside of Phoenix and the Rockets were desperate for a power move what led both sides to this trade and is it possible that both sides have now become worse you are watching [Applause] just recently news broke that things had gotten really bad in the Phoenix Suns locker room how bad there were reported fist fights amongst players on the team it’s a tough cell considering there were no leaks regarding any such incidents on top of that Kevin Durant came out and called BS on the claims stating “I have to contest this 94-footer this some BS to throw on us yeah yeah yeah we were trash this year haha but we never got close to this never.” Well considering how the Suns started the season versus how they ended it there might be some truth to the claim the Phoenix Suns who went 12-8 in their first 20 games to start the season only managed to go seven and 13 to finish up the year while it can be argued that they had dropped the season there were many signs that all wasn’t well the trade deadline fiasco when they tried to move Bradley Beal who was an immovable contract because of his no trade clause had latched onto the franchise and wanted no parts of a potential trade to the Miami Heat the team couldn’t seem to figure it out on the court with Durant at times getting furious with former teammates Ysef Nerkich screaming at him saying “We’re a team pass the ball.” Clearly KD learned a few things when he played for Golden State a similar issue occurred while Durant was with the Warriors six years ago in a regular matchup between the Warriors and the Clippers both teams were tied at 106 apiece kevin Durant brings the ball up and pulls the trigger on a deep three to get the two for one the Clippers missed their next shot when Lou Williams tried to make an isolation play while being defended by Iguodala leaving 6 seconds on the clock when Draymond grabs the rebound instead of giving it to KD he tries to bring the ball up himself and ends up losing it you can see here in this clip KD screaming for the ball while he is ignored by Draymond needless to say Durant ended up not staying with the Warriors many fans to this day still believes Draymond ruined the dynasty in the case of the Suns however Nerkich ends up getting traded at the deadline to the Charlotte Hornets for Nick Richards clearly Katie just wants to play with a big man who passes the ball but there’s more to the story than just a wild claim being made on social media and Kevin Durant denying it demarcus Cousins actually directly responded to KD’s denial tweet saying “The source was one of your teammates killer and I wasn’t referring to you save this for the others homie.” If you don’t know who Demarcus Cousins is this man does not mince words cousins is the only player to get banned from the league because he simply does not play around i made a video some time ago about this specific topic which I’ll post a link in the top right of the screen as well as in the description so you can check that out later but beyond that Cousins also recently got kicked out of the Puerto Rico National Basketball League for a huge brawl involving him and a fan after some exchange of words Cousins grabs and yolks his manhood before putting his hand in the fan’s face his teammate came to his aid to break up the altercation but things got further heated when Cousins got ejected from the game and fans began to throw beer at him from the stands as he tried to retaliate he had to be held down by security to prevent the situation from escalating even further that’s not the last we’ll hear from Cousins however as he’s regularly interviewed in the media for his takes so getting this information regarding the Phoenix Suns locker room isn’t far-fetched while I’m sure KD will easily put Cousins away in a 1v one I’m not so sure what happens if they leave the court with that being said the Suns knew things were not working with their trio of Booker Beal and Durant beal wasn’t leaving so that left the obvious choice of KD trading for Jallen Green most definitely doesn’t help the Suns who despite having horribly fitting pieces before the trade have even worse fitting pieces after the trade while Beiel could arguably fit in the back court with Booker squeezing Green in there would create a ton of issues the 10th overall pick that they received barely moves the needle as a player like Booker is looking to be a part of a team that wants to compete for a championship this would point to the Suns only just getting started with their offseason trades expect every asset the Suns acquire to be a potential trade piece to go big game fishing for a player that would fit better alongside Booker and Beal in the case of the Rockets they still retained part of the team that worked well together they didn’t have to move on critical pieces like Amen Thompson or Alan Shangun shangun and KD likely mesh well together because Shangun is a big man who actually likes to find his teammates with former champion Fred Van Vleet who did some of the heavy lifting for the Rockets in the series versus the Warriors and Jabari Smith Jr who was coming off the bench but looks like a certified starting piece who can play off ball the Rockets seem ready to make a competitive run in the West next season so why did they move off Jaylen Green this move was a long time coming green had been one of the sore spots for the Rockets due to his lack of consistency there were nights when Jaylen Green would be the best player on the floor and conversely there were nights he’d seemed like the worst while his averages look great statistically they don’t tell the whole story everyone knows Green could give you 30 points one night and then six points the next as he did in consecutive games in Denver and Miami in March earlier this year it has been rumored that he’d be traded on multiple occasions however the Rockets have consistently reaffirmed their commitment to Green even giving him a 9 figure extension earlier in the season with year five on the horizon for Jaylen Green however did the Rockets make a mistake in trading him the flashes we’ve seen from Green could potentially translate with his next team if he figures it out and becomes consistent this would even the tradeout somewhat considering the current advantage the Rockets have in acquiring KD jaylen Green becoming an all-star next season isn’t out of the question and would make the Rockets wonder if they made the right decision what would seal the deal on those speculations however is what happens moving forward with Kevin Durant durant has averaged 25 or more points per game ever since his sophomore year in the league in the 2008 to 2009 season while his recent numbers have seen a slight dip he still remains one of the most dangerous offensive threats in the league without even a second thought Durant is a better fit in Houston after the trade the Rockets are likely to run a lineup that includes Fred Van Vleet Amen Thompson Kevin Durant Jabari Smith Jr and Alprin Shenun if KD gives the Rockets the same thing he gave to the Suns this year this team is immediately a contender not only do they have proven champions their matchups are elite at every level if they see any sort of improvement in Jabari Smith Jr who’s about to go into his fourth year and have shown remarkable improvement as an outside shooter I expect Houston and OKC to be battling it out for the best team in the West the loss of Dylan Brooks could be a factor however as they might have some defensive issues but as we’ve seen from a team like the Pacers team defense can trump individual ability the Rockets can lock down the perimeter and they do have Steven Adams to come in and provide defense in the paint so this team might be all set for the off season there’s only one problem at 37 years old Kevin Durant isn’t getting any younger at any point in time his production might start to decline which if that is the case this year how much he declines would largely be the driving factor behind Houston’s success while it’s not foreseeable that he would decline much it’s still a factor to consider a significant decline from KD and improvement by Jaylen Green would be the worst outcome for the Rockets and would be the only way this move would prove to be a loss for them my take is it was a risky bet for Houston with KD available and the cost not being that different they gave up an inconsistent player for one with proven consistency the Rockets are clearly gunning for a championship this season and with one or two likely good years left for KD they might be able to get it done but let me know what you guys think about the trade no team since the Warriors have found success with KD so is this a losing bet for Houston what move should the Suns make next post your thoughts in the comments below just be sure to like the video subscribe to the channel and turn on all 1. Yeah, right, whatever. What everyone fails to realize is that Kevin Durant is NOT a leader. He's an amazing scorer, but a LEADER he is NOT!!! How many other established teams is he going to run to, to try to win a 3rd ring?

  2. KD has found no success with any team since he played for the Warriors.
The Suns won the trade because they could not win as the team was constructed. Now they have a chance at a rebuild.
The Rockets can win the trade if (and it's a big IF) KD stays healthy and he is available during the playoffs. The Rockets were a young team without much playoff experience and KD addresses that deficiency.

  3. Tell u what if warriors don’t make a move Houston will end the 5 year wall they run into in the playoffs against the warriors

  4. MIGHT I REMIND YOU THAT WE HAVE HEARD AND SEEN THIS MOVIE BEFORE ON KD…….EVERYWHERE HE HAS GONE SINCE LEAVING OKC, HAS ENDED IN CONTROVERSY……..NONE OF HIS TEAMS HAVE EVER REACHED FULL POTENTIAL, NOT EVEN HIS WARRIORS STINT……HE CANNOT SEEM TO FIND A HOME, HE IS LIKE A SHIP AT SEA THAT WILL NEVER REACH HIS DESTINATION. IF FOR ONE MOMENT YOU THINK THAT KD, ALPEREN SENGUN AND AMEN THOMPSON ABOUT TO DOMINATE THE LEAGUE AND WIN THE WESTšŸ˜€, then I want to try what you smoking! When will we realize that his greatness and he is great but it’s not going to translate to winning…..the best basketball fit for KD was in Golden State and he literally walked away from an opportunity to maximize his NBA career……..we must face the fact that KD only cares about his personal satisfaction and not winning……he has said it to many times…..I ONLY WANT TO HOOP……AND THAT IS OK, IF THATS WHAT MAKE HIM HAPPY BUT THAT WILL NEVER TRANSLATE TO WINNING AGAIN UNLESS ITS WITH STEPH CURRY AND DRAYMOND!!! They fit his game because their games complement his ball dominant game….

  5. It was only one show for Houston, they haven’t proven anything yet, let’s see if these glorified role players in Segun, Thompson, Van Fleet and Smith can provide consistent role play a second year……I can’t see it because Thompson did a lot of holding and fouling on Steph and we called that great defense šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ and he is reckless, I can see him getting injuries like Ja Morant who also played with reckless abandonment…it’s his only shot at being effective, Thompson is not a skilled offensive player. Then you have Sengun, he struggled against Draymond in that series and was not consistent, there is nothing special about Sengun’s game it’s the same every time and his defense ain’t that great either…….then there is Fred Van fleet, can his game go to another level, I doubt it….he is a six foot guard and does nothing elite…..finally you have Jabari Smith, he has not shown much to his game, what does he do great, he is 6’11ā€ but he is not dominant in anything, that to me is not enough to win the West and they have a below average bench, so one injury could shatter their hopes. Then you got KD, he is a superstar but not a leader, he will show up consistently and get you buckets if he has one on one coverage……so what do you do? You do what Draymond and Andre did in practice one time against KD, you double him every time he touches it and make him be a facilitator and make one of those role players beat you……make the Rockets change everything they want to do with KD in the lineup…..GIVE HIM THE STEPH TREATMENT AND LETS SEE IF HE CAN HANDLE IT…….then let’s see if these glorified ROLE PLAYERS CAN WIN GAMES OVER THE COURSE OF A SEASON. They lost their only guy that could get thirty and was super athletic and put fear in defenses even if he wasn’t consistent……now you have a non athletic vet in KD that gets you thirty a bit more consistent but he does not put fear in the defense and he is injury prone if you use him too much during a very long season……so I see the Rockets being about the same, maybe a little better but certainly not putting fear in the teams in the West šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ā€¦ā€¦

  6. Don't expect Rockets to make the playoff next season. And if they do, they not making it out the first round. Dunant will never have success like he did with the warriors. Check the last 2 teams he been on hmmmm

  7. If the suns are going to rebuild i hope the warriors get booker šŸ™ we needed a consistent like klay player. Buddy hield is not good for the heart šŸ˜‚

  8. The rockets took their most inconsistent shooter and weakest link( in Jalen Green) and turned him into the most consistent shooter in the league šŸ˜‚

I dont think KD on the nets or suns can weigh in on how this will playout for the Rockets.
Kyrie had all those issues with the covid vaccine and whatnot, and Harden also had injury issues, and that team almost went to the NBA finals( KD foot on the line).
The Suns simply dont know how to build a balanced roster, and ruined any chance of improving the KD+Booker team by adding Beal.

  9. For all the ignorant people in the back talking slick. Y'all just hate KD went to the Rockets with fresh start, and for hooper like KD that's all he needs on a team with a coach that has a vision. And just so y'all know, Ime is the brains of the operation, and he conducts his team with a professional touch as a coach, and KD knew that, that's why he wanted to come to Htown, and we're glad he's here, because now we don't have to worry about scoring in critical moments. You people love to live in the past, life is ongoing while y'all just trudge through life hating. Keep that same energy tho, my Rockets are gonna do great things and I'm calling it now . Rockets in 6!!! šŸš€šŸš€šŸš€šŸš€šŸš€

  10. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜… they said this every time he went to a new team

  11. KD is a top 10 all time player. He’s older and it’ll be tough without serious load management for KD to make it through a long long NBA season.

  12. This is a win for Houston. The Warriors had the number of Houston. They got a player in Kevin Durante who is a Warrior killer and knows GSW very well. This move just might win a championship for the Rockets while GSW can’t get past Steve Kerr’s coaching.

Steve Kerr’s hand print was all over the draft for the Warriors. You know what I mean…..History will show that Draymond and Steve Kerr destroyed a dynasty.

  13. Injury prone.šŸ˜… Older KD.šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø Who cares where he goes. He should have kept his ass in Golden State. šŸ˜‚ He ain’t never win shit without them.
