so could the Toronto Raptors be trading away RJ Barrett to the Brooklyn Nets this 2025 NBA off season well here on the screen is a tweet on X from NBA Central which says “People around the league have been keeping an eye on the possibility of R.J Barrett getting traded to the Brooklyn Nets per Brett Seagull NBA.” Quote “Where Barrett could end up is a mystery at this time Uh but leak sources have indicated the Brooklyn Nets desire to acquire another lottery pick Is there a potential trade brewing between the Nets and the Raptors that could see Barrett in the ninth overall pick go to Brooklyn this is something many around the league are keeping an eye on as there is no guarantee Toronto will keep the ninth overall draft pick in this year’s draft So I actually have seen a lot of smoke regarding the Raptors and what they want to be doing prior to the 2025 NBA draft They of course were involved uh in the Kevin Durant sweep stakes um offering RJ Barrett the ninth overall draft pick plus some other assets that obviously didn’t get the deal done But truthfully speaking the Raptors want to acquire some help to this roster now Uh and they don’t really view RJ Barrett as a long-term fit and have the Ninth overall draft pick in a pretty deep draft as a legitimate and valuable trade piece So if you’re the Brooklyn Nets and you do want to acquire some more draft picks in this 2025 NBA draft specifically speaking in the draft lottery the Raptors could be willing to dance with you Now what’s this going to cost them what comes to mind right away would be some form of Cam Johnson and or Nick Claxton Uh maybe some you know other players as well But whatever the case may be uh the Raptors would be acquiring a bit of an upgrade over RJ Barrett Um I think the player they would be going after truthfully speaking would probably be um you know Cam Johnson in my opinion So if that’s the case this could be a pretty intriguing uh thing to keep an eye on leading up to the 2025 NBA draft And if you’re the Brooklyn Nets and you have your sights set on someone in the NBA draft this year this could be an awesome move for them as well If they’re able to have multiple draft picks this year in the NBA draft they hit on those players potentially they could have a very bright future Plus RJ Barrett in the NBA So in my personal opinion this is something to keep an eye on Uh what do you guys think an RJ Barrett Brooklyn looks like uh could Johnson be heading back in return i guess only time will tell Leave all your thoughts down below and I’ll see you in the next one
