Giannis Trade Is NOT DEAD After All
the Giannis Antakoupo trade front not dead after all i’m Trevor Lane this is the basketball bulletin make sure you subscribe right here to the channel turn on those notifications as well it’s a crazy time of year around the NBA joined by Donnie Freeman donnie this this is crazy we had the Kevin Durant trade finally happened yesterday and now now the Giannis Anttompo trade front gets somewhat kind of sort of reignited here clickbait that’s not not us it’s not from us
chs is the one click baiting that’s what it is
it’s Chams and you know what I mean i think this could have a very drastic impact on the NBA’s offseason market
and and change a lot of things and what we’re going to see coming up in the next week and a half or so so this is Shamstrania on the Pat McAfee show talking about Giannis Antono said his future uh is not going to be tied to the draft his future is not going to be tied to free agency this is a player who’s at the peak of his powers prime of his career he’s going to be able to dictate when and where if there is movement in his career when he wants that to be so in other words saying Giannis doesn’t care if the draft draft is coming up giannis doesn’t care if free agency is coming up he’s gonna do things on his timeline because from an NBA perspective
the time to ask out would have been like two three weeks ago if not earlier that would
it would have been a while ago i just think it’s interesting he says where i don’t know about where but the when for sure
maybe that could have just been you know him putting those two together and not you know clarifying much on that
right exactly exactly but check this out my understanding is he’s giving the Bucks every opportunity this off season the draft free agency uh the trade period we have summer league coming up what can the Bucks do to elevate this team and surround Giannis onto Doupa with players he’s been there 12 years i think he owes them that they owe him that i expect that’s all will be the focus over the next sever several weeks then after that two or 3 weeks into July Donnie free a summer league was going to be about over by that point giannis will then have to figure out do I feel like the team I’m on right now is a championship contender because that’s what I want out of my future so
all of this comes down to Giannis is going to wait and see what the Bucks do so this idea that Giannis is not asking out may not actually prove to be true instead he’s giving the Bucks an opportunity to go trade for players go sign players draft players whatever that are going to make him feel like he’s on a championship contending team and if not we could be talking about three weeks into July Giannis suddenly asking out
yeah that uh man we are he’s on that that Kawaii timeline you know Kawawaii made his decision when summer league was ongoing you know back when he was deciding between the LA teams and stuff
giann and and similarly Kawawaii shut down the NBA market now I don’t like Giannis isn’t outright a free agent or anything like that but you’ve got to wonder some teams are just going to be like “Yeah I’d prefer to wait because what if by chance Giannis is available a couple weeks from now and then we’re kicking ourselves.” Now the thing about it is is that their GM has probably the hardest job in sports right now because they have to put a team around Giannis that he feels is able to compete now the problem is Dame went out with one of those uh what Achilles injuries and he’s going to be out for a prolonged period of time
probably the next season if not all
exactly and who who knows how he he comes back from that at at a you know mid-30s or early whatever
mid30s yeah yeah um you know smaller guard things like that who knows right um and then they don’t have assets they’ve bled the team dry to try to get the pieces that they have and they’ve now got to pivot away from that and get this team younger get better players in there that Giannis feels comfortable with being competitive like I I don’t know like what’s what does compete mean does that mean win a championship immediately because I know the East is going to miss a couple of contenders next year but like still unless Giannis is going to take it to the next level which is kind of hard to do i I think that bar has to be a little bit lower like
I don’t
that’s just it right they don’t have a lot of a lot of pieces to work with out on the trade front they don’t have a lot of free agency uh money to spend under the cap they uh may be losing Brook Lopez they may be losing Bobby Portoris i I mean this is a a very difficult spot i mean to the point where Donnie I’ve been saying all summer that if Giannis wants to win a championship he needs to leave Milwaukee at least if he wants to this coming season now maybe that’s changed because the Eastern Conference is in shambles it is absolutely crumbling unfortunately that was absolutely devastating to see what happened with Tyresese Hallebertton last night in game seven but now the Pacers don’t have Hallebertton the Celtics don’t have Tatum and they’re going to offload talent and the Bucks don’t have Damen Lillard all three due to Achilles injuries the The East is wide open so maybe Giannis looks around and says “Hey you know what the East is so wide open i’m that damn good just get me some decent players go do something Milwaukee it’s been We’ve had a long relationship here i love being here give me a shot and we’re good.” Maybe Giannis gets to that point and says “You know what maybe Dame comes back end of March and then we’re good to go for a playoff push maybe something like that happens but I still think if he really wants to win a championship this next year he probably needs to go somewhere else
but this new it’s it had seemed in the last week or so that Giannis leaving was not going to happen now Shams is saying no no no that decision’s not been made giannis is going to wait he’s given the Bucks a chance to prove themselves here then he’ll figure out whether or not he wants to stay in Milwaukee i mean that that to me has the potential like you said to shut down the offseason market to a degree because if you are for example is this perhaps why the Miami Heat didn’t want to surrender all of their assets in a Kevin Durant deal
don’t give them that cop out
i’m just saying pump faking is what it is they love pump faking
well they do they do i mean they did have Dwayne Wade the pump fake king so but if you are San Antonio for example who wanted to keep the powder dry reportedly for a bigger trade
could this be why right like if you’re Santa now the problem is if Giannis isn’t deciding until the third week of July guess what by then free agency is all but over teams have used up their roster spots which open roster spots help make trades more flexible more fluid that it makes it a lot easier to make deals uh a lot of cases they’ve they well they’ve certainly made their draft picks so if you’re looking for draft capital this year in return if you’re Milwaukee it makes it a little bit more challenging to do that now you could still trade players but once they sign those contracts uh at say the beginning of July if they pick a player in the draft coming up day after tomorrow and then they’re they’re officially signed to their team contract there’s going to be a period of time where those players are not trade eligible and most players will not play in summer league unless they have signed their contracts so this whole thing gets very messy just by Giannis waiting until as Shams is saying the third week of July to decide what he wants to do and whether or not he wants to actually stay with the Milwaukee Bucks
yeah and I like a few of the guys that they have like Green Jackson i like some of the guys and maybe uh Cous has a better year next year you know he’s he’s done it before in the past he’s had a few years where he’s just kind of been whatever toiling away in Washington but maybe he has a good year next year but the reality is is that they’re just so far away and things like Conetan picking up the option things you wouldn’t want to have happen ideally are knew
they knew they knew he was going to but you would you would hope he does it right but like you know he is
i would hope I would win the lottery too with Pat Conan’s Pat Conan’s not an idiot he’s of course picking up that option
yeah so like they just don’t have anything else though anything that they can really do and I can I think it’s admirable i do like that he wants to
uh give them a chance i do like that he wants to if possible stay in Milwaukee i think something needs to be said about that for sure um but I just I don’t know where else they can go from here
and they’re in a weird spot because like if they because we know they need to retool the roster if they try to make any trades well the market’s going to get squeezed on everybody’s going to say “Well we know you need to keep Giannis.” Exactly so actually how about you give us XYZ and they’re they’re like “Dude we don’t have that.” Like we can’t we can’t give you this extra pick we can’t we can’t do So like I don’t know how they pivot from here because teams are just going to play hard ball
exactly with this and that’s exactly what just happened to the Phoenix Suns right you had Houston you had Miami all these other teams looked at the Suns and said “Oh well you guys have to trade KD your season was awful last year so you’re going to get nothing and like it.” Right that’s that’s what what happened with Phoenix in the Kevin Durant negotiations and I think the same thing will indeed happen in Milwaukee milwaukee makes these strong pushes to go try to get somebody teams are going to go “Oh you’re desperate to try to appease Giannis.” So uh we’ll take everything you’ve got which admittedly is not much for Milwaukee so this puts them in a in a difficult spot now I don’t fault Giannis for doing this for you know he look he’s an MVP he’s an all-time great he’s a first ballot hall of famer he’s a champion he can decide whenever he wants to let Milwaukee know what he would like to do and remember he is under contract for multiple years so they don’t even have to trade him immediately they could wait until the trade deadline they could wait until next year to trade him all of those things are certainly possible but in terms of the NBA’s offseason market what could happen is some teams could look and say “Well do we really want to sign that free agent or do we want to have an open roster spot so that we could have more flexibility to go try to trade for Giannis?” And I think it would take an extreme leap of faith but maybe Giannis is that kind of player that you do something like that for because it’s no certainty that Giannis is going to ask out it’s no certainty that any particular team will have enough to go get him but might it cause some teams to think twice with some of their trade deadline or or offseason activities because they’re gearing up for the possibility that Giannis asks out somewhere near the middle to end of July i think there will still be some on the margins moves that you know you can get done regardless whether or not like if you were pivoting towards Giannis or not and there are going to be some teams that aren’t going to really be in on him because they just flat out don’t have the assets right sure and I think those teams will still be trying to be active or trying to position themselves in potential trades as a you know uh third team or something like that
but for the teams that are truly in and possible uh to get a Giannis yeah I would expect for them to be sitting and you know I liken it to Kauaii you know remember for LA when Kawaii chose not to go to the Lakers they had guys that actually waited right
and so I’d imagine that there may be some guys that are okay with waiting as well too until Giannis makes a decision
well that and that’s true unless that other deal is out right i mean like Danny Green but he also got more money I believe from the Lakers than he was going to get somewhere else um and so that was part of why he was okay with waiting but they weren’t going to wait for too long so fortunately Kawai’s decision did did come along eventually but you know Donnie I think the last piece to this it’s not just about what the Bucks do what does everyone else in the East do you know what I mean we just saw Orlando they went and bought on Desmond Bane what if Atlanta goes and gets somebody what if Indiana finds a guard to hold them over while while Hallebertton is out for the season what if the Knicks add more pieces the Cavs right now are the betting favorites to come out of the East what if they get stronger what if Milwaukee is not able to make those moves and everyone else in the East says “Oh my god it’s wide open.” And they all go by
does that contribute to Giannis taking a look around the room and saying “Damn we’re not going to have a shot at this.” And then asking out so I think it’s not just about Milwaukee and what Milwaukee does it’s about what does the rest of the East do now that there is clearly a power vacuum and there’s a wide open run through the conference for next year
we were saying that prior to the Pacers getting uh or prior to Tyrese going down
um and that’s not a shot at that team or anything like that in fact I think they’re better than they got credit for being you know pushing the Thunder to seven that tells me those teams were pretty evenly matched right like I I think that the Pacers were great and they they would have been one of the teams I would have absolutely bet on making it all the way back but that being said now that they potentially are out of the mix on the top end um there’s even more open space here and like I said in the beginning of the video if you’re Giannis what is acceptable right we know he wants to win a championship he’s he’s made that very clear publicly privately all that stuff we know he doesn’t feel fulfilled if he doesn’t win more championships or as fulfilled correct
and so you’re you’re 31 years old you’ve got a few years left on your deal are you okay with saying “Well we kind of got ourselves into this hole realistically there’s not a ton we can do.” And yeah they probably will get better yeah they’ll probably make some moves but it’s not going to be anything drastic you You’re missing a $50 million player like it’s kind of hard to really do anything when you’ve got that $50 million player out for a chunk of the season and maybe you can look towards the end of the season hopefully he’s himself and you know he’s going to need to ramp up get back to playing sometimes it takes guys a bit of time right
so I I think the question is what’s acceptable is it okay to say well this year not so much but maybe next year because some of those contracts Exactly because some of those contracts fall off cuz will be inexpiring assuming he’s still on the roster so will Dame like you may have pivot options next year but unless Giannis is able to go to being a 36 point per game seven eight assists like I unless he goes up another level I just don’t see them getting there
and if you lock into a a playoff series anything can happen right so there’s always that but
I just can’t see it in the landscape and it’s it’s one thing with with what the East is doing but what about the West because even if you make it through the East and again you get in a playoff series anything can happen but I wouldn’t bet on this current roster to beat a couple of the teams out the west right
sure i mean especially you know Houston just got better with Kevin Durant you’ve got it’s a strong Western Conference and OKC is obviously going to be the favorite going into the season but yeah it’s going to be it’s going to be interesting to see what Giannis ultimately decides i still think it comes down to if he wants to win a championship this year he can’t do it with Milwaukee maybe they get enough financial flexibility next summer to do something to make some significant changes but right now I don’t see it um maybe Giannis’ ties to Milwaukee are strong enough that uh that he just winds up staying but it does appear that based on what Sean Strroni is saying the whole Giannis trade spectacle this isn’t this is far from over the Bucks now have essentially a month to prove themselves they’ve got to prove to Giannis that they can give him a shot maybe in a diminished East it doesn’t take a lot but like you said Donnie the question is where is the bar for Giannis Ant Koopa what level do the Bucks have to be at in order for him to say “Okay I’ll stay.” Or what level do they have to be at in order for him to say “That’s it i want out.”
Yeah
in sports
I don’t know
big time
big time most difficult job in sport no question you got to make changes you got to improve the team and you don’t have a lot of ways to do it in Milwaukee but everybody let us know your thoughts on the Giannis Antoupo situation obviously now changes everything this is not dead and there there’s still the potential for Giannis to ask out but will teams wait will they wait to find out what Giannis is going to do will they make their offseason moves anyway and just try to adjust if and when giannis says he doesn’t want to be a Milwaukee Buck anymore because right now the Giannis timeline is not is not a good timeline for other NBA teams as they’re trying to build out their roster so let me know your thoughts in the comments section down below don’t forget to subscribe right here to the channel till next time everybody see you and stay safe

Dame for Beal and the #10 pick haha
Clickbait
Stop stop it and yeah do your research correctly Gianni's said that he's not leaving Milwaukee
Everyone is only focused on Giannis for trades. What about Jokic? 3x time mvp with a roster that won’t win anything else!! This shit every single damn year is old as a Bucks fan!
No one has more assets than OKC. They can get him if they want him.
All time great? Let’s slow it down a bit eh. Another ring or two to be categorized as such
Maybe he will hold up the market like Kawhi did and Pelinka will accidentally throw a championship squad together out of scraps again
😂
Reaves, Rui, Vando for Giannis! 😂
ORL to finals 2026!
Best thing for the bucks would be to move Giannis NOW ! Worse thing in world would be him asking out next summer when they have zero leverage
It’s not really admirable just yet … the truth is Giannis would be in the best position if he waited until next summer to ask out … he could fully dictate where he goes without said team getting gutted
The day after KD, Gianni’s is back in play, bc there is no other “news” to report 🤦🏻♂️
You know Legm working behind the scenes to get giannis. Just LeBron trying to buy himself a ring as usual nothing to see here🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Giannis is not being traded
Bradley Beal, “You are a Milwaukee Buck”
Miami was reserving to be able to go all in on Giannis. Makes total sense and i hope thats the case just to shut up all the band wagoners we have down here!
Giannis is going to the wizards
He needs to go to the San Antonio Spurs and pick up 3 more chips !!!!!
They should go after Beal, maybe they can get the 10 pick with him
Bucks don’t even have to retool like that. Giannis needs to stay East. Nets should make a big 2 or big 3. They have assets.
Can we ask obbi toppin from IND?
I thinks that’s fair from him to his team.
Who,the NYK or another NBA club.
The Bucks need to move him this offseason, otherwise we will get back a package similar to what the Suns got for KD.
Trevor makes a good point, other teams may play a roll in Giannis's future with the Bucks. They could sign all of their free agents, and refuse to trade with the Bucks unless the trade involves Giannis. The Bucks would have difficulty improving their roster.
Lakers new owner and he would spend money !!!! Let’s get it done lakers !!!
We know we not getting Gianni’s without trading the whole team which we not doing
Probably gotta trade Mitchell Robinson, Josh hart , and Karl Anthony towns for Giannis
If the bucks dont make any moves to improve, I dont blame him for asking for a trade. The east is getting better and having just Lillard and Kuzma on the roster isnt enough.
cough Raptors cough
I’d trade same for Beal tbh, stay somewhat competitive
Lakers incoming
4:53 – 11:18
Staring at that roster in the background is kind of depressing. Even if Dame was healthy It’s still awful.
Hes not going anywhere unless milwaukee gets blown away with an offer. Ive been saying this all along.
Not only is it dead, it was literally never alive.
Stop with this garbage please!!! So sick of this crap! NBA media is horrible, thought this channel would be different. My bad should’ve know better you are Lakers fans.
Shams is certainly not listening to the Milwaukee media or even Giannis himself when he flat out posted on X that he “misses Woj” — that was a shot at Shams. They’re just keeping this alive for clicks—the East is more wide open than ever w/the Hali injury.
Ad for giannis
The Spurs are waiting for him 😅
They actually just signed his old favorite workout partner in Milwaukee- Sean Sweeney as their new asst. Head Coach in San Antonio, he won't feel alone when he gets there if he chooses to leave the Bucks.😁
Nobody coming to Milwaukee
All them maybes 😂😂😂
Greek going to nuggets for Porter and Murray
Giannis texted “oh oh!” when Durant to the Rockets became public. I think Houston and the Bucks make the trade. Something like Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr, Reed Sheppard and a handful of picks.
No tatum no haliburton no lillard I mean the heat might win the west.. Defo cavs and Knicks will be feeling good
hey Trevor, look at this bs… some other guy is using your video and talks over it as he is fabricating some misleading content…

We will give them DeAndre Aton in Jeremi Grant for nothing, just make it lineup because we the Blazers are dumb.
Giannis is not going anywhere
Rui, Jarred, Dalton, Gabe, Maxi 2026, 2028, 2030 Firsts for Giannis. Bucks Get 1 Defnder whos still young, one big potential scorer, and 3 expiring contracts to clear cap space for a big singing. Lakers get, well they get another Chip!
