drake Pal first burst onto the national scene as a defensive stopper but it’s the potential growth of his offensive capability that will ultimately determine his NBA ceiling pal’s numbers from his lone year at North Carolina don’t leap off the page at you but it’s the combination of everything he does while just scratching the surface that has him in conversation as a potential firstround draft pick one of the single most impressive plays I saw this entire season of college basketball was Drake Pal hurdle an opponent block that opponent’s shot by grabbing the ball out of midair with two hands and then lead the break back the other way a surprise this year was Pal’s ability to shoot cashing in on 37.9% of his three-pointers at 661 195 with great length and mobility Pal can switch defensively up and down the lineup he can lead the break straight line drive but he’s better off the ball similarly Pal on the defensive side is great as the primary defender but he needs growth in his offthe-ball defensive capacity the team selecting Pal’s going to need to put in the time to refine who he is as a player
