Kevin Durant is PERFECT for the Rockets

kevin Durant is a Houston Rocket tyresese Halleurn probably just blew out his Achilles prayers up to him and the Oklahoma City Thunder are the NBA champions after a very underwhelming game seven there’s so much to talk about in such a little time let’s start off with the obvious and that’s Kevin Durant in Houston [Music] now as a Houstononian myself I am happy and sad that KD went to Houston not sad for basketball reasons but sad because I don’t live in the city no more so I’m not going to be able to watch KD on a consistent dayby-day basis but I am happy though aside from the fact that he’s in my city I love this move for the Rockets and Kevin Durant but before I get to all the positive with Houston and KD let’s talk about the Suns and that bum Jaylen Green for a second i’m going to tell you right now Devin Booker if you are smart and you are intelligent which I believe you are you need to get the out of Phoenix right now do not get it twisted about that finals appearance you had a couple of years ago really think to yourself about what these have done before and after that situation absolutely nothing before they ever got you Chris Paul and y’all made y’all little playoff appearances and finals run don’t forget they were drafting like Dragon Bender like Josh Jackson like Maris Chris and trying to put those pieces around you in draft classes that had guys like Jiren Jackson Jr Luca Donuch De’ar Fox Larry Markinet Trey Young these are guys they passed up on just to give you a bunch of bums and then when they finally made some decent decisions drafted Mikuel Bridges Cam Johnson got Chris Paul they blew and threw all that away so they can get Kevin Durant which was okay at the time but then got Bradley Beal and now when they move Kevin Durant they got you Jaylen Green debook wake up and smell the roses it’s over okay this team has no assets their future belongs in Houston and my next season you’re going out there with the starting lineup of you JG Bradley Beal Ryan Dunn and Nick Richards like I said it’s over you are their only asset to move forward so demand that trade ASAP so as far as the negatives and positives for the Phoenix Suns that’s really it because I’m not going to lie I want to give a shout out to the Houston Rockets for how they got this deal done for those who don’t know Kevin Durant’s on the last year of his contract and sure he is still putting up great numbers at this stage in his career but the man is still almost 40 years of age he’s still injuryprone and in simple terms he just doesn’t impact the game the same way he used to he does not shift defenses like that he does not get to the rim like that and as a creator he ain’t separating off defenders off the dribble the way that he used to in OKC and Golden State that burst is damn near gone but the value of him is that he’s still a seven-footer he’s a solid defender and versatile on that side of the ball and can shoot over anybody he can give you 25 points per game like it’s nothing he’s still Kevin Durant but with all the drawbacks that I mentioned earlier combined with this is last year on his deal I definitely think the Rockets did not give up too much because when you look at this team they still got Amen they still got Sangun they didn’t give up Jabari or Tari Een and I think keeping Van Vleet was also a great move because for one they’re going to need a point guard with that team but also his contract is so much that they can use that as filler to move him to get another player because they still have so many other assets the Rockets played this thing very smart if you look at what they gave up they really didn’t give up anything of true value to what they’re trying to build jaylen Green it was very clear after that postseason he was getting moved let’s keep it real and that production is very easily replaceable with Kevin Durant if not it’s obviously in surplus then you remove Dylan Brooks from the equation that’s probably going to free up more opportunities and shine for guys like Jabari Smith and Trey Een who will replace that easily with their production and on top of that they did move off of his contract and the 10th overall pick is really nothing special for the Houston Rockets who are trying to compete right now and when you look at the other assets that they still have I’m not going to lie I could see them still making another move this team still has a boatload of first round picks from the Phoenix Suns and trust me there is nothing the Phoenix Suns can do to turn their fortunes around next season absolutely nothing i don’t care who they flip JG for because let’s be honest all roads lead to them having to trade Devin Booker when I look at this Houston team man I really do love what I’m seeing last year the halfcourt offense was the biggest issue now do I think KD fixes all of those problems no i still do think they need a little bit more playmaking because KD Sangun and Van Vleet I don’t think that’s enough i don’t know how great Sangon can really be as a cornerstone of an offense that’s really to be seen yet and Fred Van Vleet even though I think he’s a better playmaker than people give him credit for he’s still not the player you ideally want at that starting point guard position and then as far as KD goes his playmaking issues are still there at this point in his career especially considering the handle just ain’t as tight as it used to be but I still think that’s doable right now because this team is still a great defensive team they didn’t give up too much defensively and now they’re going to give more minutes to guys like Jabari and Tari who are still great defenders in their own right and even have the capability to be better defensively in adding a guy like Kevin Durant who can not only alleviate pressure off of a guy like Singon and Fred Van Vleet he’s going to give you more spacing more flexibility with some size on the interior and I know this is about to sound basic and just pure hooper talk but when you get into these playoff scenarios like they were this year against Golden State game seven you need someone that’s just going to get you a bucket it was supposed to be Jaylen Green for them but now he obviously failed and didn’t work out amen he ain’t there yet sangun he ain’t there yet but you know who is kevin Wayne Durant and that’s really where his value is going to be shown now I still want to address one thing with the Houston Rockets because they could this up and nobody’s really talking about it kevin Durant has been to multiple teams and when he’s gotten there pushed for or at least wanted certain things done that obviously crippled them financially first we saw him want to get James Harden and I’m not mad at him for it but they did push for James Harden to come to Brooklyn which led them moving and leveraging a lot of assets out of there like Jared Allen and Caris Levert a lot of that depth had to go to the point they had to sign guys like Wash to Blake Griffin then we saw in Phoenix the same thing happened with Bradley Beal now that he’s in Houston I would hope I would pray that Kevin Durant understands that patience is not a virtue it’s a strategy and keeping it P right now and just going with the flow and how this team is being built over time I think is the best thing for him this is the place that KD should retire you got two upand cominging young guys especially an Aman Thompson who I think can take the league by storm he’s already doing it in a front office that obviously has a plan with a whole bunch of assets of picks of the former team you were at that you know was in freef fall and they have no future whatsoever because the team you’re on right now currently owns that future just chill go out there and hoop work on your craft and try to win that NBA championship because sure I don’t think they’re contenders really right now but I still do think they can make some noise in the Western Conference after OKC i just wouldn’t want the Houston Rockets to rush into the idea of getting another star to pair with KD because if we’re really being honest Aman Thompson could just be that star in himself sangon could be that third option for them running a full season with this roster I think is more beneficial than a lot of people want to admit and if you’re going to move Van Vleet it doesn’t have to be for another star player it could be for a decent couple of role players because let’s not forget the Rockets have a lot of players that they’re going to eventually have to pay jabari Smith Jr is still on his rookie contract alrren Sangon just signed an extension last year amen Thompson’s still on his rookie deal tari Een is still on his rookie deal and KD next year will be a free agent so at some point they’re going to have to pay and probably go over the apron for keeping all these guys or hell if they want to get a little cheaper they can move some of them i don’t know but they have so many assets and so many possibilities of what to do with this roster that I think the best thing is to just take every day one step at a time not just rush into hey we got to get somebody else we got to get somebody else because we’ve seen too many scenarios especially in recent history where teams rush into decisions that they were not prepared to deal with the consequences for example just look at the team KD just left the Phoenix Suns and embarrassment

  1. 1. If the Suns draft Egor Demin, then there a world where the Suns would have a nice young piece next to Booker that can control the offense and add a couple more valuable pieces to be at least play in the team as their floor

    2. Call me crazy, but I think that the Rockets could have instead pursued LaMarcus or Kevon Murray. With Durant, playoff teams are going to load up on KD and dare Thompson, Segun, and Jabari to beat them with perimeter shooting, and use that number 10 pick to draft a young perimeter creator that can be a number one option like a Water clayton jr

  2. Sheppard and Whitemore will be unleashed next season off the bench! I better not hear Durant ask for another star when they already have a solid seven man rotation. Houston should fill their bench with role players this offseason (preferably players that can space the floor) with the available money they have and/or trade for to potentially have one of the deepest teams in the league next season.

  3. I don’t see there being an issue with him. Ime isn’t a pushover like Bud and Nash and KD doesn’t have that kind of leverage anymore

  4. Devin Booker gonna sign that max next year and then leave he tryna get the bag first before leaving

  5. Book needs to go to the east. If I was Indiana I’d trade depth for Book and run him, Hali and Pascal. I know Hali is hurt but no better time to change up the team

  6. April/May of 2026 I'll be coming back to dumb ass videos like this. Way too many young fans believe real life is 2K. KD has been on how many super teams now and couldn't win. He's not a leader, he's admitted he's not a leader, and Houston is a young team with no leadership. Also, KD is gonna be 37 yrs old in Sept and he's always injured. Go look at this games played the past 5 seasons. Rockets won 52 games and were the #2 seed but couldn't get out the 1st round. KD isn't changing that.

  7. imo they are the 2nd best team in the west they have depth off the bench in tari reed Adams Whitmore they have a great starting lineup if they can just get a backup PG they are right with OKC imo

  8. Yeah no way you can have a 44 million dollar a year point guard that ain’t top 5 at the position when you have KD 😂 gonna have to dig deep and figure it out

  9. As a rocket fan, we need to keep praying the Phoenix Suns collapse so there draft picks get even better 😂

  10. I’m just glad we didn’t have to give up much for kd. I also saw that Houston would decline Fred team option to bring in James harden. IMO they should decline it anyway and restructure his deal if they wanna bring Fred back. 42m for 39% fg shooting is way too much

  11. Actually, DBook, if you’re reading this, please wait one season to demand a trade. That’s because the Rockets don’t have the Suns picks until 2027. So do your boy KD a favor and sit tight for a season. Then get your ass out of Phoenix.

  12. “KD dont impact a team no more” “Rockets still aint contenders” this ngga yappin bs foh

  13. they have to get booker too. give fred + couple first round picks and couple guys to fill it oh yea baby thats the contender for everything
