so could the Toronto Raptors be trading away RJ Barrett to the Portland Trailblazers this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself But this trade would see the Portland Trailblazers receiving RJ Barrett and a 2028 second round pick and the Toronto Raptors receiving Denny Avida Matis Thyel and a 2031 first round draft pick So in my personal opinion from the Raptors perspective this would be a awesome trade for them to make Uh getting Denny Avida and Matis Thibels for some more depth um in this team It basically kind of complements the core of this group which is Jacob Purle uh Scotty Barnes and then of course uh Brandon Ingram So I think if you’re able to add some good secondary pieces there um and plus that 2031 first round draft pick from this team in Portland that could very easily be a lottery pick So uh this would be an awesome move for the Raptors to make especially too because they have been pretty I guess open about uh them shopping RJ Barrett this off seasonason So RJ Barrett of course is not a long-term fit with this Raptors team if they’re able to flip him into two bench pieces plus a 2031 firstrounder That is some awesome work from Saiou Jiri and the rest of this front office Now from the Blazers perspective like RJ Barrett individually speaking is a very solid player especially with them getting rid of Anthony Simons perhaps you know RJ Barrett can be a nice replacement there Um he’s a good player He can be you know sort of around that 17 to 20 points per game maybe in this player system he gets the keys to the offense a little bit more He could be a nice player but uh the Raptors don’t want him And if they’re able to sort of flip him for this value in my opinion uh this would not be a great trade for the Blazers to make just from a trade perspective and from a asset management perspective because the Raptors they want to get rid of this guy So why give up too much for him that’s my only question mark here So if I had to pick a winner of this deal I’m going to go with the Toronto Raptors mainly because of that 2031 first round pick But as always leave your thoughts
