New Orleans Pelicans Sign Hunter Dickinson My Thoughts!!

you also want to guys this Houston sports talk back into the video today and today the New Orleans Pelicans have signed Hunter Dickinson from Kansas who also played three years at Michigan spent the last two years at Kansas and his college career is three-time all Big 10 all two twotime all big 12 and NCA all region as well um Big 10 all freshman in his freshman year too um his freshman year played pretty well uh with Michigan he played really well with Michigan and um you know then transferred to Kansas and I think there were a couple times he could have potentially entered the draft when he was with Michigan and and been drafted but didn’t transfer to Kansas uh even though there were times where he was really playing good basketball still did not declare for the draft and I I think there is a lot of talent there for Hunter Dickinson this is a guy at 71 averaging a double double in two of his last seasons but this is why he didn’t get drafted there there might be other reasons why he’s get drafted but another reason this is a I think a big reason why he didn’t get drafted is because no one’s going to draft a guy who played five years in college there were I think there were a couple players who did play four or five years in college that did get drafted tonight but it’s just not it didn’t happen it’s very rare for that to happen you saw in the first round 18 freshman’s get selected in the first round teams like Young Bucks and that is something Hunter Dickinson definitely isn’t being a five-year college player and yes he was great when he played but you know he was old he’s old um and even though he’s young to a lot of people uh you know like I said you know people that are the guys that are making these picks the the GMs the draft you know you the draft scouts they like the young guys and I think that’s the big reason the maybe the biggest reason there might be other reasons but that I think that is one of one of the biggest reasons why Hun Dickinson did not hear his name called in round one or round two but he averaged 17.4 points per game 10 rebounds per game this year with Kansas shooting 52.6% from the four i think something that also hurt him this year uh specifically this year shot 28% from three i mean the two the two prior years he identified himself as a as a 7-1 big man who could shoot the three ball shot 42.1% 2022 23 season with Michigan and then shot 35 1.5% in the 2023 24 season with Kansas and those numbers go down to 27.6% this year and so um I think that hurt him as well i think his age his numbers being down from three-pointer this year and other reasons are why he was undrafted but now the Pells take a chance on the 71 big man who spent five years in college three with Michigan and two with Kansas and it’ll be interesting to see if if he can prove himself let me know your thoughts on the signing in the comment section and peace out
