The Indiana Pacers Took Liberty Sixth Man Taelon Peter 54th Overall in the 2025 NBA Draft 🔥
by far the most interesting pick of the 2025 NBA draft to me was the Indiana Pacers selecting Liberty sixth man Talon Peter in the second round with the 54th overall pick And yes you heard that right He was Liberty’s sixth man this past season But coming off the bench didn’t stop Tenon Peter from being very productive leading Liberty in scoring with 13.7 points per game shooting over 45% from three and leading all of Division 1 with a ridiculous 72.4 true shooting percentage You look over at his career numbers this past season for Liberty Played in 35 games only started two His freshman year at Tennessee Tech he only appeared in six games But you’ll notice there’s a three-year gap here So where was he During those three seasons Talon Peter was playing division 2 basketball for the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys And yes that is their real name Over those three seasons he averaged 15 points five boards and two assists a game shooting 47% from the field 37% from three and 83% from the free throw line Then he transferred to Liberty for his final season of college basketball where he was the leading scorer for an NCAA tournament team When you watch him play he’s obviously a highle shooter with a quick release an efficient scorer who I do think has the athleticism to hang in the NBA There’s definitely some questions He’s well-b built and athletic but doesn’t have great length so you wonder how viable he’s going to be as a defender He’s not a great playmaker definitely more of a scorer than a facilitator at this point But just factoring in the crazy efficiency it does seem like the Pacers may have found a diamond in the rough He wasn’t on any mock drafts wasn’t really in anybody’s top 80 prospect rankings And if you’re still not buying the pick just note that Talon Peter was drafted during a Taco Bell commercial If you know you know Obviously the Pacers must have really seen something they like to have spent their second round pick on Liberty’s sixth man Shout out to them for grinding the Conference USA tape And if it doesn’t work out then hey it was the 54th pick But I’m very intrigued by this Very interested to see what Tailon Peter becomes
