It’s Official…
it’s official now folks as Bobby Webster has made the first move of his tenure as being the top dog of this Toronto Raptors team and a lot of people were looking forward to who is going to be the main veteran mentor for this Raptors group and a lot of eyes were pointed towards Kyle Lowry filling that position this off season however things are now official in terms of who has taken that role at the end of the bench of the Toronto Raptors and we now have some insight in terms of how this roster is going to look entering free agency and that has some serious implications in regards to what the Toronto Raptors are going to be able to do in terms of bringing in some talent especially at that backup center position so we’re going to break down what Bobby Webster’s first signing was as the top dog of the Toronto Raptors and how it impacts the Toronto Raptors going forward and the hopes and dreams of landing Kyle Lowry to retire retire with the Toronto Raptors so much stuff to break down out here in this video but folks you guys have been crushing it hitting the subscribe button as of late this is what I took the screenshot of this morning we’ve already crossed 38,300 so appreciate everyone joining us on on this ride to hit 40,000 subscribers so make sure you guys hit that sub button if you haven’t already it’s free and you won’t miss a single thing that’s going on with the Toronto Raptors even on a Saturday night when we get a signing so let’s dive straight into it as Shams came out and dropped a mini Shams bomb then saying that free agent Garrett Temple intends to sign a one-year $3.6 million deal to return to the Toronto Raptors sources tell ESPN uh the Raptors and Mark Bartles and Priority Sports reached this deal for Temple who will enter his 16th NBA season so of course we’ve had Garrett Temple on the roster for a couple years now at this point this isn’t a groundbreaking move just on the basketball court but behind the scenes out there you know in terms of a leadership role a guy being in the locker room garrett Temple has been amazing for mentoring the young players and happy to have him back again some people are saying “Oh he’s eating a roster spot he’s doing all this that and whatever.” Of course I don’t expect him to have an impact out there on the court he did have some sneaky good games for the Toronto Raptors last season and didn’t have horrible averages either if we take a look at his stats it’s two points per game one rebound and uh you know 21% i I’m I’m looking at this here but essentially Garrett Temple had some big games in the back half of last year i’m thinking of a stat in my brain when he had uh you know some extended run in the last 10 games of the season but Garrett Temple of course 39 years old isn’t going to be an impact player but an impactful player in the locker room so happy he’s back but that’s not the main implications of what this signing means to the Toronto Raptors because of course this team is entering free agency right now without their president of basketball operations Messiah Jerry and unknown who’s going to be filling that role whether it’s Bobby Webster whether or not one thing first is this is positive that Bobby Webster is making moves here now at this point he’s not waiting for this president of basketball operations to get hired to get brought in in order to be a little bit active out there in the trade market as well as free agency garrett Temple was signed brought back quick and a couple concerns you might have about this in terms of uh Garrett Temple is why was this deal done right now because summer league hasn’t happened just yet there hasn’t been a lot of uh you know we have a bunch of young guys that are signed out there in terms of undrafted contracts playing in this summer league action and if some of them are playing really well if they come into their own and then we don’t have a roster spot for them at the moment you know at the end of the season in the end of offseason after summer league and Garrett Temple’s eating that spot that could affect the basketball area for a guy that probably is on his last season now again we thought that was the case last year but I digress i don’t mind having a veteran in the locker room where our team is still very very young so I’m not disappointed in this but that is one thing people are a bit frustrated by second thing you know keeping it outside of the big free agency plans of the Toronto Raptors is it’s official that the dream is now dead for Kyle Lowry to return a Toronto Raptor at least for this season now looking at Kyle Lowry play on the court last year you’d imagine this is his last upcoming season for uh in the NBA take a look at his stats they aren’t that swell either you know four points per game for Kyle Larry two rebounds three assists per night shooting 33% from the three-point line 37% on corner threes he is 39 years old himself but again if we’re looking for a guy to mentor this team come off the bench and uh you know being a long tenure Raptor it would have been cool to have Kyle Lowry back especially in a season after you fire Messiah Jury you part ways with one of the faces of your franchise it would have been cool to have Lowry back into the mix back on this team you know for this current year but of course I don’t mind Garrett Temple being back he’s familiar with all the players in the locker room has those relationships and a lot of the young guys that are on this team play that similar position to a Garrett Temple and we can take a look at this here right now in terms of the roster you have Grady Dick you have Jacobe Walter rj Barrett’s becoming a vet now at this point but still a relatively young player out there in the NBA you have AJ Lawson you have Oiabaji all these guys and you know Jameson Battle as well all these guys play that similar position as Garrett Temple and you know that experience that Temple has had being in different organizations being a journeyman throughout his career and having a long NBA tenure I mean that experience is probably more relevant to those guys kyle Lowry was an all-star he was you know a guy that was the top dog for a franchise for a while and all that type of stuff garrett Temple is a guy that had a very successful career as a role player so can probably give really solid advice to the new young guys coming out in the mix even you know now with our you know wings we just signed out there in the or signed drafted whatever you call it you know Colin Murray Boilles as well as our guy Elijah Martin so that’s uh I don’t mind G temple being in the locker room that stuff’s all good but what does that mean now for the Toronto Raptors ability to make some moves out there in free agency because this team has a lot of contracts on it that are locked in for this upcoming year happy uh Sports Track updated their actual salary stuff so you don’t see Temple in here now at this point we can add him into the mix but you know you have your two-way guys of Olar Shamsh Joe Roden and uh you know uh are the newest one signed today Chucky who his name is slipping me here now at this point then you have second round picks you know Elijah Martin you have first round pick in terms of Col Murray Boils and then you have a lot of other guys that are under contract for this team here right now so you have Jacobe Walter Grady Dick Ochiabachi all playing the wing position you have AJ Lawson and Colin Castleton on ungaranteed contracts but fighting for these different roster spots jameson Battle under contract mo Shed all under contract so again if a guy like AJ Lawson who showed flashes of brilliance at the end of last year they have a really strong summer league they come out and are really effective for this team there’s an opportunity there’s a possibility where a could a guy that could contribute as an actual role player for the Toronto Raptors on both ends of the court this upcoming season away that couldn’t be the case with a Garrett Temple just given his age that roster spot is eaten up so that is one thing to take into consideration that is one thing to uh you know reflect on like okay do we need to make this decision here right now but I guess you know the vets they want to get paid and maybe there’s demand for out there for a vet like Garrett Temple across the NBA but I digress on that point but there’s a lot of different players out there the bigs or the wigs that are getting roster spots and unless there’s a big trade happening and this is why this signing happening right now indicates to me that there is trades happening now we broke down the last video upload to the channel emanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett are still getting shopped we’ll break up that report as well here now at this point as there’s conversations right now that the Raptors are still going to be looking at the trade markets for both RJ Barrett and Emanuel Quickley of course that is coming from Jake Fischer so the fact that we brought in Temple we have a loaded roster like we have so many players out there on guaranteed contracts for this Raptors team signals to me that a move is coming and as this report I got to update these graphics now without Messiah Jerry’s face in them but as the reports were saying the Raptors were trying to land a big fish and the reason why is because ownership was pushing for it that’s why I broke down in the last video make sure you guys watch that if you want all the updates there but the Toronto Raptors are looking for a big fish the way to do that is to aggregate young talent together and then acquire those types of guys so it’s uh I expect trades to be coming i expect the roster stuff to be handled by the end of free agency by the end of the summer and hopefully the backup center position will get addressed in that way because if there are no moves if there are no trades there are minimal avenues for the Toronto Raptors to find a consistent backup center for this team that’s the reality of what’s going on bobby Webster would have to have some trust serious trust out there in Aler Shamsh and being the backup center or believe that Jonathan Mobo can be a backup five out there if uh you know need be for certain times of course Yako will be the starting center but if he gets hurt which he has been at times over the course of his Raptors tenure then he is going to uh you know we might be in a tough spot in a season where we are trying to get back to competitiveness so those are all things we’ll take a look at we’ll analyze all that stuff as the summer goes along but the Raptors in a very interesting spot and as I discussed a few days ago the writing is on the wall even more chris Buché is definitely out if this signing this vet signing ended up going to Gear Temple $3.6 million the cap during our new cheap era owner of uh Edward Rogers at this point then it’s going to be no contract there for Chris Bush i think that’s safe to say now at this point but let me know what you guys think about all this in the comments section down below you guys have this far subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already anyways I’m signing out cheers
The Toronto Raptors have made their first signing of the off-season bringing back Garrett Temple on a $3.6M contract. Ben Rogers breaks down this signing and what it means for the dream of bringing Kyle Lowry back home.

Come on fam WHAT'S GOIN ON with thiz organization? They are supposed too keep Borcher….
Who cares about Garrett temple
Would loved Klow back but hes home so all good. Old G is more of a darko guy anyways and has pull with the fellas.
Still wouldve like to see klow set the rooks straight and with that 'dont poke the bear' grit, heart and toughness.
what a stupid thumbnail, im unsubbing just because of that after watching you for years. you litterly made it look like we got lowry and made me think that for a second. "ITS OFFICIAL!" with a picture of kyle lowry in the thumbnail. if i could slap you right now, im sorry but i would 100%
He's essentially a player coach with minimal floor time(if things go well).
And Lowry said how he'd return a long time ago. On a 1 day contract to retire as a Raptor.
So we got a $3M cheerleader. Love the guy but is that the cost of doing business? Could we have not paid more to have an actual contributing player (ie Boucher) instead?
I've seen enough, make Garrett Temple the President of Basketball Operations!
Should used that 3 mil to pay Masai or at least fans should have had a chance to start a go fund me to keep Masai
Great signing
How the heck did Temple last 16 seasons 😅
I love the pregame dance 😂
Bruno will be ready in 2 years
Lowry never said he was coming back here to play. He said he would sign a 1 day contract to retire as a raptor.
this guy making as much as John Tavares
I love temple but can't lie I wanted klow to return, but hopefully we sign him on a one day contact next season 🎉🎉🎉 …oh ya trade sloppy barnes
Ed Rogers – pulled the trigger anticipating Masai and the raptors would make the playoffs and therefore would have to extend Masai unwillingly. Disgusting owner – ethically unwarranted.
Last year Raps were terrible when Poetl was out…how do you draft another wing player? Especially when Maluach was still on the board? Not taking anything away from CMB but with Barret, Barnes, Ingram, Mogbo, Walter, Dick…how do you even find playing time for another wing player?
This is so dumb😂Bobby is not him. So many young guys need minutes, especially with more rooks coming in, but u waste a roster spot and not to mention that they are close to the apron. I don't understand why they don't hire him as a coach. 3 milli as an assistant is decent money.
Why temple ffs
guess the Masai departure is the end of my fan support for this franchise…. raptors digest its been a slice..no longer watching or following the raptors..✌ p.s we should boycott rogers too
Thank god, that means bouchier is gone
Don’t be surprised when raptors run a “non” big line up with the back up minutes. Scottie, walter, Ingram, CMB and mogbo as the “centre”
That’s 4 guys with 7’ + wing span and jakobe is around 6’8” wing span I believe
Everyone seems to think they should’ve gone with Kaman in the draft but I honestly think ya he theoretically has huge upside but so did thabeet centers tend to isully take extra time to adjust to the league and often time it isn’t in their first contract that you see gains from it. So you could prob grab a young center with upside in free agency after another team gets impatient
@benrogers rogers wont pay luxury tax, and its likely one of RJ or IQ are moved. they have done trades with kings before so they have a relationship. kings need a starting pg and perry is very high on IQ as he drafted him with knicks.
so raptors could get maxime renauld a 3 pt shooting 7 ft center the kings drafted in 2nd round with filler for IQ and the hornets 2026 2nd round pick. maybe get valanciunas back as well.
Bring Lowry back. Just sign temple to be a coach at this point
Scottie Barnes becoming a raptor was the downfall of the Toronto Raptors. TRADE HIM ASAP
IDIOTIC I am starting to hate this organization.
If Lawson Castleton get waived there is still one spot available but for who is still the question i see this move meaning there is going to b atleast a trade before the season starts
A good move
A fringe NBAer who didn't get that many minutes for a non playoff team. What a waste.
Why waste a spot on the team.. Garrett Temple could be an assistant coach for the same money. This makes no sense
What a waste of
Nah, sorry
I could easily come within two points in one rebound of his stats for $3.5 million less
Never understood why they had Temple on the roster.
Bobby should be President, Tolzeman the GM and will likely save them money compared to the outside hire
Signing Temple and giving him a roster spot doesn't make sense and is useless. The team barely uses him last season. I know he can be a mentor for the young ones but then make him an assistant players coach and give that spot to a player who can contribute better on the court.
Lowry won't come back here without Masai. Believe it or not…neither would Demar.
3.6 Mil is scrub change in the NBA. If that’s the big news…..yawn
Actually, hearing you say the dream of Lowry coming back is dead made me think that BECAUSE of the backlash that they somehow didnt see coming from firing Masai, I could see that as damage control, they would be "willing" to "waste money" to do it to try and convince fans that they do care lol..
Such a short sighted and all around bad and blind decision made by the nownownow+greed mentality that is almost poetically shown here by a major CORPORATION where the ONLY and ultimately fully blinding goal of money NOW over everything–even the long term + SUSTAINABLE + BETTER + inevitably more profitable future..IE: Rogers with their narrow, profit now/greed viewpoint seeing this as their "peak profit" time to fire Masai, thinking things are set and they can now let go of the "heavy" contract of Masai and let Bobby Webster help lead and/or guide it through on a "discount". I hope for the best, but this is the first time where im actually considering if I want to continue holding onto my 10+years of season tickets because of this short sighted tell
