i hate to invoke the word but I mean we we we have a pretty detailed process here Um and you know I think it starts at uh the high school level and all the pre-work before the in the years prior to their coming into college uh with national teams with with everything Um and that process continued through this year No I mean I think we were seriously considering pretty much you know early in the process it was about six and it was down to four and then we were uh deliberating up until the last uh few days uh down to who we would pick and uh as we dug in we felt like VJ was by far the best best choice So

Philly drafted the wrong player. It's Jayson Tatum / Markelle Fultz all over again.
The problem with this pick is not the player; it's the fact that we are the ones who selected him. If you are drafting number three overall, you better get a player that can be some sort of starter for you, either now or in the future. VJ is not that player for us simply because there's a logjam at the guard spot. McCain's not coming off the bench, Maxey is not coming off the bench, so we drafted a role player. That's not ideal when you have the number three overall pick because you need someone who can be a starter, and he's not going to get started minutes now or in the future unless an injury happens.
VJ to me is a better version on offense and similar defender is Matisse thybulle β¦ with 3rd pick im not too big on this
Why not trade back if you weren't taking Ace? VJ is a one trick pony, you could've gotten that later. Ace was the wing we needed like Porter and Bridges from years past. Another fail. Can't wait until this team gets sold to someone else.

As a Philly eveything fan, i know some of you donβt follow the flyers. Well we drafted a guy who didnβt want to play in Philadelphia 5th overall a few years ago and had to trade him. It doesnβt matter if ace bailey turns out to be the best player, if he doesnβt want to play in Philly and everyone knows that we have no power in trading him. VJ is a great player and shouldnβt be thought of as a consolation prize, heβs a bonafide baller
