Miami Heat Need To Get It Together According To Dwyane Wade After New Failed Kevin Durant Pursuit

hey welcome on in guys tobin here with you and thanks for checking out the channel i hope you’re doing well out there if you guys could subscribe that’d be great appreciate you stopping by so I wanted to get to uh something that I was said this week by an absolute legend the Heat Goat himself Dwayne Wade who had some comments on Kevin Durant not joining the Miami Heat on his podcast on the Y network they were discussing the free agency and the trades that were going on and it was interesting because Dwayne Wade uh had some pretty pointed comments not only about the whole Durant pursuit and how many times the Miami Heat have tried to go after Kevin Durant and why this may be a little bit of a sore spot for D.Wade Wade in this uh in in the timeline that is his entire career because he said uh he said an interesting thing when uh they were discussing the idea that he ended up in Houston and you know certainly this was not something that I uh took well at the beginning of the week you know now that we’ve had uh some time to separate and we’ve gone into the midst of this week you know I’m still not pleased that Kevin Durant’s not on the Miami Heat don’t get me wrong but uh I’ve obviously chilled out from the time uh that has been since Monday whenever whenever the hell the trade went i guess it was Sunday at the Panthers parade is when we found out i was elated at the Panthers parade so I’ve had uh some time to to soak it in and and get ready for you know whatever the hell the next move is for Miami i don’t know what it is it appears right now like the next piece of business is Andrew Wiggins there was some more Andrew Wiggins father this week uh surrounding the Lakers there’s some counter reports saying “Hey that’s not so close.” The other name that got kicked around today I believe it was from Mike Scott of Hoops Hyper Clutch Points i forget where he works sorry Scott but uh he said that Andrew Wiggins is garnering interest from the Milwaukee Bucks that that is another team there’s also a lot of Warriors buzz as far as like the Warriors want to get some perimeter so could there be a reunion there if this Kaminga stuff is real would that be it i know in his same report he’s saying like “No that’s not a that’s not a match made.” Um but it would seem like a pretty obvious switch it’s just a matter of do the Miami Heat really want to pay Jonathan Kaminga talked about this a little bit in the Davon video but you know there are reports that he wants 30 million a year um seems pretty steep seems seems pretty steep for for somebody who you’re basically you know making the coronation there’s a lot of like Kings stuff that’s starting to get out there in Bulls like to to me those teams almost make a little bit more sense just because of where their their teams are at where their salaries are at i could see a Kaminga Vousvich swap pretty easily that seems to make a lot of sense for at least the Golden State side of like what would they want in a sign and trade i don’t really know what Miami other than John other than Andrew Wiggins i don’t really know what they want i suppose Duncan Robinson but I don’t know if uh I don’t know if Duncan Robinson we don’t even know i mean Duncan Robinson could be a free agent tomorrow for all we know but as far as Wiggins getting interest from the Bucks you know their salaries are just a little bit strange right now because I was like “All right what do they have in this just for a straightup deal?” And you know right now what’s on the books you got Bobby Portoris on a player option for about 13.5 million um so you know there’s there’s that if he opts in um Pat Conetan at 9.4 and then the other contract that that’s in that eight in that range is Kyle Koosma who makes 23 million this year and 21 next year and you know I just I I’d rather honestly just as a straightup player verse player I think I’d rather have Andrew Wiggins than Kyle Koozma i don’t really understand what what would really be the purpose of that move i think you know you know from the standpoint of I I would get why the Heat want to move on from Andrew Wiggins and is certainly in a case of like you’re going to get an expiring deal but to get somebody who’s also going to eat into the salary for next year just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me you know i I don’t I don’t really understand that one from a from a Heat perspective so the Bucks while all right they’re out there it it does seem like a bit of a weird match brook Lopez isn’t under contract with them and then you got Giannis and you got Dame obviously they’re not going to trade Giannis for Wiggins at least you don’t think they are and then Damen Lillard’s got the torn Achilles so I just think it’s a little bit of a weird match i guess you could do a three team deal but just straight up looking at you know a Heat Bucks swapperoo it’s a little bit weird it’s a little bit weird so just there there’s that regard but Dwayne Way went on his podcast uh the Y network and he was talking about Kevin Durant and he said “The man the he been trying to get KD for 10 years it’s one of the reasons why uh I ain’t blank no more because they went out this summer and we’re like “Hey we’re going to try and get KD.” So do you want them or do you not want them right now they’re just playing a couple of games uh and they’re not going to turn in their chips until like they feel like they have a winner they didn’t want to give up with uh what was offered for KD to come there and the Heat look at the age they look at injury they look at a lot of things and as a Heat fan you just can’t be too mad i also understand what they’re doing said I said this 10 years ago when the Heat were trying to get him he’s not following LeBron why are we recruiting somebody who’s not going to do that i didn’t like it then and I didn’t like it now i’m glad he’s in Houston that ain’t it i don’t want to be one of those old dudes uh who can’t come back and get celebrated he get this bleep together so you look if you guys remember the history of this um yeah there there was this was not a great time for the Heat and D wade’s relationship remember there was a lot of frostiness with LeBron leaving a lot of Pat Riley frostiness with with LeBron leaving and there was a lot of incorrect animosity from the franchise especially Pat being put on Dwayne for because the Heat felt blindsided and back then you can guys can go back and look at the there was this famous video back in the day of Dwayne Wade on the tarmac with LeBron James and they having this long animated conversation where it very much seemed like a goodbye but D.Wade didn’t know or didn’t maybe didn’t directly know and didn’t let anybody from the Heat franchise know and he eventually of course ends up going to Cleveland we all know the breakup story right and it was always felt like for some reason the Heat and particularly Pat like had this weird set of blame or animosity they had at DWade because they were blindsided and you know mind you DWade comes back uh Chris Bos gets the the the Uber Max because Houston’s pursuing him dwade we’re going to make it good and then they get to this summer of 16 where they max out Assan Whiteside who’s getting pursued by the Dallas Mavericks and they were going to go after Kevin Durant kevin Durant he has this big thing in the Hamptons and the Celtics are going after the Cap had a huge boom this year people were making crazy money tyler Johnson got a huge extension mozgo was getting max money like it was just crazy the amount of money and Assan Whiteside got this hundred million dollar deal because you know he was this G-League sensation that comes out there and the Heat boom basically take care of him at midnight you know it’s it’s it’s it’s done and then they’re going to have this pursuit of Kevin Durant and they always kind of felt like hey DWade you’re on the back burner right like D wade’s not going to go anywhere we’re going to we’re going to make it good right and you know it it just it built I think for Dwayne a lot of hostility because like how can you try and expect to recruit Kevin Durant to the Miami Heat without having Dwayne Wade on board it’s just weird you know you’re not you’re not going to be in this spot where um you’re going to feel like you have an actual chance to go get this guy while your franchise player isn’t in this position where he wants to uh where he wants to help you recruit and so it’s like they’re trying to they’re they’re trying to to get KD and they’re forgetting about the guy who’s like the furnace of all things they’ve done that is great now mind you also on the back end of this and I don’t know if this has anything to do with Dwayne Wade saying because he is just I know what it’s like to be on a on a microphone you just kind of rant and you have a take so I don’t know how genuine this is or not but let’s not forget there was a little bit of a tit for tat back in the day in the big three era these were these were the teams the Heat and the Thunder were looked upon as like and the Spurs eventually overtook the Thunder but like when you got to that 2012 and KD’s at the peak peak of his power not even really the peak of his powers as like the individual guy before he ends up going to Golden State ends up getting the MVP in 14 but there was a time where he took issue with like a top 10 list that Dwayne was still on and he I believe said something to the effect is that oh James Harden should be on that list not Dwayne Wade now mind you this was Dwayne Wade fresh off of the fresh off of the Miami Heat kicking their ass in the finals like gentleman sweep heat and five D.Wade sending Kevin Durant crying into his mother’s arms as as a young man and it was actually this was the Instagram post still up 92413 Kevin Durant said James Harden should be replacing in the top 10 note to self make him respect your place in history dot dot dot again and that was uh you know so September of 2013 he obviously uh you know would go on to uh to get one more finals so this was actually I guess this would be a year after winning the finals so they had already beaten him in the finals and then they were backtoback champions and he’s sitting here saying “Oh no no no james Harden should be in the uh James Harden should be in the top 10 not Dwayne Wade.” And then Kevin Durant back then said “Show me don’t tweet me.” And actually you know what I forgot to do i wanted Kevin Durant on the Heat and I just happened to like I was like I was like I was like just doing some like rabbit hole stuff here looking back at the old Twitter beef from 12 years ago and Kevin Durant the tweets still up show me don’t tweet me and I actually comment tweeted on that back in the day when you had to put like you couldn’t even comment tweet you had to put RT Kevin Durant tweet show me don’t tweet me and it’s a picture of him crying into his his his parents’ arms and it’s a good thing he’s not on the Heat otherwise I would have had to delete something like that whoops but look man like this was it i don’t know if it ended up being a beef because I know there’s been respect d wade said like “Hey the guy deserves a statue one day.” Like I think you know Kevin Durant said “This guy is my like I think there’s been probably like a thawing of the frostiness.” But one thing I do know is as much as D wade has love for the Heat and all that stuff that man does not forget beefs and he doesn’t he he’ll forgive but he won’t forget and so I do think there’s a little element of to him that has like a little PTSD of hey man this Kevin Durant thing brings up something in me that I don’t like because it makes me think of probably one of the most unhappy times professionally in my career and also a guy that like you know this James Harden DWade thing I don’t know how much Dwayne buys has you know I don’t know how much he bought into it his career but certainly has made the remember the whole you can’t get to that floor thing like yeah we all know it’s like it’s it’s this weird obsession it’s like Twitter basketball as opposed to winning basketball um that people have tried to fall in love with and so for Kevin Durant to kind of be the first guy to throw it out there in the ether oh James Harden should replace Dwayne as a top 10 player and look James Harden ended up having some great years um he could kick rocks with the argument because like he never won anything but you know he ended up winning an MVP so you want to say KD was right that’s fine you could be that but you know it’ll never he’ll never be in Dwight’s class my mind as a Heat fan DWade being the GOAT but I can think that D wade if there’s ever a KD heat discussion my guess is it just brings up something in D wade that he doesn’t like very much it’s not that he has like real hate towards Kevin Durant or that he has real animosity towards Kevin Durant or ill will towards Kevin Durant i just think the idea when he says I didn’t like it then and I don’t like it now it’s it it is to me as a person who has just takes in sports I can respect it because it’s just like you know what I get you D wade why would you want this guy who you you basically is looked upon as one of the the the exit routes on your breakup with your franchise where you ended up on the Chicago Bulls and at a time with the Cleveland Cavaliers why would you want that guy in your franchise’s jersey and and then mentioning that the he got to get their their bleep together like I mean you couldn’t you couldn’t echo the sentiments either you know any more than I have uh from from that and I think that you know he said this last year at a statue ceremony where he was jealous of Boston he goes like I want to be back there celebrating with those guys and I do think there’s got to be a part of him where you know he’s put a lot of expectations on Bam Abio he’s put a lot of uh you know he obviously had a lot of thoughts on the breakup with the the Jimmy Butler thing where I think he you know towed the towed the line uh really great between a guy he’s got a relationship and a franchise he really cares about but I do think he leaned more towards hey you can’t accept behavior like that as an organization if you stand for something stand for it and I do think there’s a little bit of him looking at this being like you know you used to because don’t forget one of the things that’s impressive about you know with Dwayne and he’s talked about this uh before about the years where it led up to the big three and then the impatience that it took it’s like this is a guy who probably looked at an organization that had that literally was steps ahead of everybody to to plot to get that big three together and it just feels like you know that organization I think is is is the same because all the people are the same but they don’t feel like they’re operating the same and so when he says get their bleep together I I do I think there’s probably part of him that’s like “Wait you’re still like you’re still getting in the chase for like the whales and doing the old things and you’re kind of being set in your ways like this is you’re still pulling the same moves like and this is and it’s still not working.” So yeah playing a little like you know pop psychologist on it i think that’s that’s that’s why it kind of draw drew the eye of D.Wade this past week from the organization look I was pissed too but it feels like he’s pissed for different reasons than than the fans are or or um or anybody who like looked at this even like you know you think about like Marcus Morris or Stephen or people who came out and being like how could you not give up more for Kevin Durant and I think D wade is looking at it a little bit in the uh the scope of like you’re still running back to the same idea like it was stupid then it was and and and it’s not the way to go now and so I I did find it uh I did find uh the the rant very interesting go check it out if you missed it go check out his podcast you can go uh see it it was a good discussion i listened to it today when I was uh on the way to my uh to my kids BJJ class um but uh yeah very very interesting dwade still still not loving the whole Kevin Durant thing on the Miami Heat he’s glad that it didn’t happen

  1. He needs to get it together. Stop with that painting your nails fruity stuff, get his act together, become a real man so his son isn't confused anymore.

  2. The Heat front office is stuck in limbo and believes there own hype a bit too much. Jimmy’s gone Pat and these boys aren’t that good. There won’t be any point to where JJJ or Jovic will be on KD’s level. Idc if it’s KD year 22

  3. I remember when KD said that bullshit , mfs really think Harden is better than Wade 😂 insane

  4. Thank you Wade, everyone was so behind Pat riding off the bridge. When Pat put Wade on ice just to try to recruit Durant after you beat him in the finals a few years prior, he was never coming to Miami and Dwade knew that. But Miami put their FRANCHISE player money on hold for KD was diabolical. Thats when I started looking at Pat differently way back when. A dude who won you 3 rings at this point. Fast forward back to today, get Pat's old ass out of the driver's seat and put him in the back seat as a consultant. Dude don't resonate with today's world. Pat probably still making calls on the iPhone 3 when you can't adapt or evolve with the times. Then it's time to let it go on whatever you doing and move on….

  5. Let's keep it a buck fifty Dwade can see what the rest of us non Pat stan's can see, and that's the fact that the heat are in NBA purgatory. And this team is about to be stuck there for a long ass time !! 💯😂

  6. for once im thankful the heat were cheap. but shows theyre going younger. i think they finally realize big 3s are no longer feasible without gutting your team. or maybe they were just lowballing. but i hope they dont make the mistake of signing kuminga who is asking for bam money. this is finally an opportunity the clear the books. if we trade wiggs we should replenish picks. who knows in a year or two when greek freak, luka, ant become available, then the heat will have enough cap room and picks to compete. those are the guys you target and not some 37 year old. for now our young guys are so intriguing. we need to develop them and see where were at. and FFS why inst dwade in the front office yet???? if anyone deserves to be there, its him!

  7. I respect Wade, but we need to value our youth. Move in Bam/Tyler's age bracket. If our development team is really that good, we wouldn't need stars from other teams to save us

  8. Watch the Heat do good this year and all of you fickle fans willl praise how well the front office is doing with drafting and resigning players 😂

  9. The heat has no superstar or to be superstar talent… expect them to be in the middle for another decade… their roster is overrated period

  10. Fuck that all da heat try to do is build up players from the bottom and make them compete this day and age you need talent that’s not cool. Get it done. Pat need to retire.

  11. Pat need to retire-
Damian Lillard, Kevin Durant, Donovan Mitchell, Giannis, never got Jimmy Butler any help smh oh also I’m just waiting for Walter clayton jr. to be the next best thing in the NBA. He also begged the heat to draft him.

  12. Miami is doing the right thing, look at what happened to phoenix, when you just go after a star player just because you have to make a deal,Oklahoma waited and look what they got and Indiana don’t have a legitimate superstar and almost got a championship,it’s all about putting the right pieces together.

  13. This is why we aren’t moving anywhere as a franchise to much PRIDE. Can we not let anything go at this point? It’s always our way or the highway. The league has left us in the dust.

  14. Maybe Pat will surprise us and pull off a Giannis trade, reality is he’s an old fart that will end up running it back

  15. He said that right after he oversaw his kids frank and beans getting lopped off smh 🤦 hes a total beta male what a disappointment hes turned out to be.

  16. The heat front office is a solid 7 (who think’s they’re a 10) that only wants to date 10s in finance, trust fund, 6’5, blue eyes.

  17. ✅ 'ripe for retirement' kd NOT needed by 🔥. Be grateful for this 'sweet miss'. Sure was a stupid idea to begin with..! 😄

  18. At this point I don’t listen to rumors on the heat. Pat is going to do what Pat wants to do. He believes he can win with this team. 🗑️

  19. Once KD (or his team) included Miami as a preferred destination, Heat’s hands were tied. They may not have loved the idea of Durant, but they had no choice but to present a trade package is my guess.

Imo they presented a package for KD the Heat org could tolerate if Phx accepted. Good for Phx (and probably for the Heat) that another team presented a more compelling trade package.

I’ll add a little to what Wade said: “KD’s not following LeBron, AND KD’s not following D-Wade either”. Were the Heat really in the running for KD or was it just publicity from KDs camp to drum up more interest?

Heat need to focus on re-tooling the team via less experienced, yet very talented players ala that young D-Wade, UD, Caron, Odom etc. team. Then once more of their players are developed, Heat can choose to continue with them or go after a whale.

  20. Yup mainly talking about our max players that ain’t consistent and getting a bag like if they all around players he just ain’t want to say no names
