Spurs Walker Kessler Trade?
what’s going on everyone so according to reports Utah has made everyone on their roster available right that doesn’t mean that they’re necessarily going to trade everybody but they’re at least listening and open to essentially everybody right they want to kind of hit the reset button rebuild i don’t imagine Ace Bailey or anything like that’s available but you know they want to kind of shift into a new direction right and there’s talks about the San Antonio Spurs being linked to John Collins that they’re one of the teams on the list that you should kind of keep an eye on did a whole video about that um but the guy that I really want I’ve talked about this before and I love the idea of it is Walker Castler if you can get anybody go get Walker Kler i would even be okay if they paid overpaid for Walker Kessler because of how young he is and and what he does and his potential and upside you’re talking about outside of Victor Wimyama the best defensive center in all of basketball and that’s not like an exaggeration that’s not my personal opinion that’s literally a statistical fact he’s also better than Wimby in several metrics defensively you would have the best defensive front court in the NBA by a large margin like literally Walker Kesler and Victor Womenyama are like head and shoulders above everybody and all these like different metrics and stuff walker the only thing that Walker isn’t great at is like the help defense right he’s great at being a deterrent he’s also really good at defending without fouling but he does kind of have his struggles when he has to be the primary help defender but that’s where Wimby can step in right wimby could be that and so you have the guy and then you know if he needs help you just swarm him with Victor Wimman right but Walker Kesler he’s 23 he’ll be 24 going into next season next month he’ll be 24 years old so there again fits your timeline be your center for the next 10 plus years he’s very talented very gifted he’s even shown a little bit of the ability to stretch in the floor and knock down the three ball it’s not something I’d want to see him do right now it’s not something that I you know keep him back to best but it’s something that as he progresses through his career that’s something that he could maybe definitely work on and develop but he’s shown the ability to make plays make plays for himself make plays for others he’s a guy that can score around the rim he could be a lob threat he could be basically everything you need out there on the basketball court do a little pick and pop action walker Ker would be fantastic i also and I’ve talked about this before I also like the idea of bringing in a center and moving Wimi to the four because of the way in which he wants to play he doesn’t want to be around the rim right and look I’m not saying Wimi shouldn’t be taking threes right i’m totally okay with Wimi taking threes but he shouldn’t be taking half of his field goal attempts from three the guy is 8 foot2 and you know and has you know 22 feet go gadget arms and he wants to take 10 threes a game like that’s the issue i love Wimi right i do and look I I’ve seen people try to justify as like hey they’re trying to develop him and let him work on his three-point shot like you can do that without taking 10 threes a game right like and also aren’t you trying to win games and stuff i’m just saying like I just think that that’s an excuse to justify it right but look if Wimby wants to take 10 threes a game that’s fine then he probably shouldn’t be your center because you’re going to need somebody to help you get offensive rebounds and do all those things right it’s kind of hard if Wimy’s taken 10 threes a game and to put this in perspective again this past season he averaged 8.8 three-point attempts per game like literally midway through the season he was at almost 10 he was at like 9.8 or something like that and so he kind of you know took fewer as the season progressed but 8 point literally 8.8 three-point attempts per game put that in perspective right he took 18.6 field goals period so literally half of his attempts came from three-point range the previous year he took 5.5 on 16.7 attempts so if he’s getting 18 to 20 attempts and if he’s taking like five threes a game like a basically a quarter or a little more than a quarter of your attempts are from three perfect right you’re going to have a little couple pick and pops you’re going to have some threes you know you want to have some diversity there as far as the offensive report that’s one of the things that makes Wimby so great right but I also don’t like the idea of him just taking 20 threes a game i mean Carl Anthony Towns like the most threes he’s taken in in a season is like six I think i don’t even think it’s that many right like and he’s one of the if not arguably the greatest big man shooter ever right there’s again there’s differences so fine if Wim is going to do that and Wimi wants to take those many threes and he wants to be more Kevin Durant than Hakee Elijah and he wants to take more threes a game and he wants to be more perimeter oriented then you need to go get a guy what happened with OKC Chadgren right tried the center he want he doesn’t want to be an inside guy he wants to be out on the perime he wants to take eight threes a game he wants to be in the mid-range and knock down and cross dudes up he wants to be that so what did OKC have to do they had to go get a starting center they had to go get somebody that they could slot in that could play and be that that interior presence help you offensive rebound you know help you be you know protect the rim do the dirty work do all that stuff so that way they’re they’re you know sevenfooter unicorn could be more perimeter oriented you’re probably going to have to do the same thing with Victor Wimyama right so I look at kind of Walker Kron I’m like “Dude that guy would be great in that regard.” Like that guy would be fantastic in that regard um as just like a a big man that you can play in the middle he’s already a double double guy right this past season he’s averaged 11 points and 12 rebounds per game with two assists he’s a real sevenfooter he’s got good size good strength i mean the guy can do everything out there right um so if you can go get him problem is they want like two they want like three first round picks so I mean may could you maybe offset that with like a player because also you got to keep in mind Kesler has is going to be doing a new contract you’re gonna have to pay him so it’s something to keep in mind too but you know if you could get him for I don’t know like I mean salary wise you could just match one of these like random guys but you know could you maybe do something where maybe you’re doing Kesler and Collins right maybe you’re getting both right and and having Collins come off the bench or something like that and you just get both and then do like a I don’t know Kell Johnson and whatever else and go make it happen right so thing is it’d be easy to go trade for him if that’s the route you wanted to go um is my point but what did he give you what did he do well last year 58 games played 58 games started also keep in mind because if you’re like 58 games right keep in mind the Utah Jazz did like the ultimate tank move and sat their starters lit like weeks at a time like it’s not an exact like literally like weeks at a time um 58 games played 58 games started uh 30 minutes per game literally on the dot uh 7.2 field goal attempts per game shot 66.3% from the floor three-point range this past season on point6 attempts shot 18% um again not something that I’d want him to do right now but he’s shown the ability to stretch he doesn’t have a bad looking shot or anything something you just need to work on with him which maybe Wimi that could be a big thing that Wimi kind of helps him with um as far as two-point range goes 6.6 attempts um and took 7 point or 70.6% um from two-point range efg of 67.1% he also shot which this is a big area he needs to work on free throw shooting 52% on 2.6 attempts right he’s a career 54 and I’m being nice rounding up 54% free throw shooter right but it also helps that you have Wimby so like if they do the hack a Kesler thing you can always just like slide Wimi to the five and you know put in a Carter Bryant or something like that at the four if that’s the route that you needed to go but just something to kind of keep in mind he averaged 12.2 rebounds including 4.6 offensive rebounds 4.6 offensive He averaged almost five offensive rebounds a game there’s some big men in the league that only average five rebounds a game let alone five offensive rebounds a game he already he averaged almost as much as like some starting centers in this league right um and then uh assist 1.7 assist a steal uh two and a half blocks per game and 11.1 points per game again this is a guy that’s already a double double guy this is a guy that gives you everything you’d need for now and the upside in the long term um he’s a guy that can easily slot in play the role for you uh just do multiple things out there on the basketball court but can kind of you can continue to kind of shape and mold him the way that you want to shape and mold him and the vision that you have for him i think he’d slot in beautifully alongside Victor Wimyama i know that there’s some people that think like “Oh Wimby can’t play alongside a center.” I disagree it’s one thing to play against a Rudy or play alongside a Rudy Goar that you know can’t score outside of five feet you know Walker Kler that actually has you know he’s not like this like you know savant offensively but he is a guy that can score around the rim he’s got the little hook shot over both shoulders right little pick pop stuff like he he’s better offensively than a Rudy Goar it’s also different when you’re swatting him alongside like a Zack Collins who was like unplayably bad last season which I think is funny because he was actually pretty good for the Chicago Bull he’s actually great for Chicago he had some like real moments especially filling in for uh Nicole Vousvich was like where was that on the Spurs like that guy showed up they never would have traded him right uh but anyway I think it’d be fine i think you go get him it just depends on the cost but again even if you have to slightly overpay for him one at some point you’re gonna have to make some moves you just have so many assets and things like that and best case scenario is you go draft a guy like him right so if you can get him now and it’s not like a guy that you’re trading for that you know you only have like oh man I’d only have this guy for like four years no literally you’d have him probably the entire tenure of of Wimi right so again it’s something to kind of keep in mind but anyway as always this is a discussion pass question to you let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments that being said if you haven’t liked this video hit that like button helps me out so if you enjoy these types of videos I truly appreciate it not subscribe channel hit that subscribe button turn on the bell notifications appreciate y’all see you in the next one thank you
The San Antonio Spurs could really use another big man and center. Spurs pairing the Utah Jazz Walker Kessler would be fantastic and give them the best defensive front court in all of basketball. Spurs Victor Wembanyama and Walker Kessler could be elite.

I’m down for kessler on the spurs, but as always, what’s the price?
This would be a good way to dump Vassell's high priced contract off in a trade for him! Good riddance* Might could get Collins too!
I like Kessler. But Danny Ainge will charge us with Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, 3 future firsts (at least one unprotected), 10 2nd rounders, 1 million dollars, 1 million Ethereum, 51% ownership of the SSE…
I’m kidding, but the point is Ainge will overprice this transaction, and the Spurs should tread lightly.
Johnson, Vassell, 2 first rounds and 5 2nd rounds done deal for Collins and Kessler
I’d love this move. Wouldn’t mind throwing in some draft capital. We stock all this picks know we can’t draft 20 guys in a few years, then trade away picks on draft night? This move can be done without losing any of the main untouchable core. A more low key move , sick of the “big trade “talk .
Ludicrous. Makes no sense for the Spurs.
I think moving Victor to the four makes all the sense in the world! In a similar but different way to how Timmy was put in the four.
Hopefully Wembley will start taking more shots in and around the paint now that he has gained some muscle (if what I heard is true about him gaining over the off-season). He can literally dunk the ball with flat feet!
Yes
Honestly we should look into Ayton just to have some big body in our front court.
…I've been saying this since last summer…I would give up the hawk's 2026 pick swap…the hawks 2027 unprotected 1st in 2027 but would make it top 5 protected 2 second round picks and vassell…I know that's a lot…walker Kessler is the perfect player we need… doesn't need the ball he rebounds and plays defense…I would over pay for him to…we don't need anymore rookies at least for the next two three years… spurs should focus on getting to the playoffs and start winning without thinking one more lottery pick…with Kessler we would have a complete team…I would even give them 3 1st round picks and keep vassell..
Would be great if he joins Spurs😀😀😀
Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes.
We would then be set for the next decade!!!
Would love to have Collins & Kessler. If we can dump the oversupply of old guards (ie not named Castle, Fox or Harper) on trades along with picks & keep Barnes that would be great.
Wemby playing (4 or 5) with either Collins or Kessler, or both depending on mafch-up (?), OR Collins playing with Kessler while Wemby is resting – what a luxury since Kessler's & Collins' D will still be formidable with Wemby resting.
