BREAKING NEWS: DUNCAN ROBINSON DECLINES OPTION WITH MIAMI HEAT | NOW A FREE AGENT π #nba #shorts
so for the first time in several years the Heat’s longest tenur player in Duncan Robinson is not technically a part of the roster as he officially exercised his early termination option which was worth about $20 million for next season basically what that means is he had a player option that he declined so now there’s a couple of options because he’s a free agent he can either go elsewhere go wherever the hell he wants and the Heat losing for nothing maybe he wants to go to a team that doesn’t have cap space so that he can facilitate a signing trade to get some assets back or maybe he resigns with the Heat which I don’t think is out of the question the reason he might want to do this is because if he didn’t decline his option the Heat could have waved him and then actually only owed him half of that $20 million but now he can resign with the Heats for a longer term deal and get some more years and more guaranteed money so it could work out for him too i like Duncan Robinson i’m cool if he stays but not for more than $10 million

Wouldn't it have made sense to opt in be waived and collect that $10 million guaranteed and then resign somewhere once he cleared waivers?
Time to move on and build with the young guys.
I hope he remains a Heat Lifer
Too bad Bam canβt opt out so they can renegotiate his horrible contract too.
I think the Heat told him to do that and so he resigns with the Heat.
He's a good player, not played effectively, so how does he help the Heat going forward. I like him, but the Heat needs to move on…
I like Duncan Robinson, but I donβt want to see him back on this team.
I donβt want to see Duncan playing over any young players, I donβt think Spo would be able to resist playing him over young players, and I just generally want a new energy for this team. Duncan, though I like him, represents way too much thatβs wrong with this team. 1 way, undrafted, overpayed, relied on too heavily player.
Itβs not a knock, but I value the empty roster spot more than Duncan for this team.
D-Rob is the new Haslem, gonna be signing 1 year deals for the next 10 years
Sign and trade him for a 2nd round pick like they did with Strus. We need the open roster spot to continue what I feel has been a really smart and sober offseason so far.
Tbh Duncan was more use during the butler era but now itβs time to move on heβs definitely gone be remembered wouldnβt be shocked if GSW picked him up they love three point shooters like DBO
God is good
Good he was NEVER WORTH 90 million. He isn't worth more than 8 million a season.
