what listen it’s late i’m up editing next thing I know I get a notification from Sham Serrania that the Boston Celtics have traded Drew Holiday back to the Portland Trailblazers for Anthony Simons in two second round picks what i just can’t fathom why Portland would do this other than Joe Cronin being a dumbass petty bum but if you remember they originally had Drew Holiday as a part of the Damen Liller trade before they rerouted him to Boston so now they’re getting Drew Holiday back except he’s a couple of years older and he’s going to have a very terrible contract cuz he’s making a ton of money when he’s very old why would Portland want that as a rebuilding team who’s not ready to win now i understand Anthony Simons is an expiring contract and if you weren’t going to keep him you want to get some value for him but Drew Holiday is not the value they should be looking for boston’s going to need a scoring punch without Tatum next year simons gives it to them and some ice pick

I'm not in love with this trade but, here are my first thoughts on how to make sense of this….
I think you look for hopeful title contenders with aging rosters! Preferably a desperate franchise, with an older roster of vets, who believe to be in "Win Now Mode"and are willing to give a good draft capital in exchange for Drew holiday and a chance to win a championship! So basically to keep it simple, I believe those types of teams would give up more draft value for Drew holiday then they would Ant man… With jrue Holiday you're more likely to get a first-round draft pick or 2 and that type of draft capital is something that Ant can't get you at the time I don't love the trade because I love Ant-Man Damian Lillard protege so I don't love the trade but this is the best way I can make sense of what just happened
