Bucks re-sign BOBBY PORTIS

so the Milwaukee Bucks are ressigning Bobby Portoris for three years $44 million and as someone who’s always been Bobby Portoris’s biggest hater a guy that gets a little annoyed when Bobby Portoris will like knock a ball out of bounds and he’ll be doing look at me you know a guy that doesn’t really defend the best and you know is a little bit tunnel visiony on offense a guy that I watched take long fadeaway twos when Giannis Dame and Chris Middleton were on the floor he’s a guy that is not my specific cup of tea as a basketball player but with that being said grand slam home run Johnny Hor you just got yourself a little steal my man and I say that because I felt like before his contract was fine you know he was saying to the media I’ve been taking pay cuts with the Bucks no you stinking haven’t 13 million I felt like was fair that was like a good market value but with two things I think right now getting paid a little under 15 million is a big steal because for one we’re seeing contracts continue to go up where Nas Reed is getting paid 30 million and now I think Nas Reed is like a better version of Bobby Pores i think Nas Reed is better defensively um I think he I think Yeah he’s just better defensively that’s probably the main thing um he’s a little bit more dynamic offensively could put the ball on the floor a little bit more but like he’s a better version of Bobby Portoris for sure but Bobby Portoris under 15 a mill or Nas Reed for $30 million oh that’s a steal he is not Nas Reed is not more than twice as good as Bobby so like in a world where Nas Reed is getting five years 125 million in that world it would make sense that Bobby Poris gets three years like 60 million maybe even 70 million and so getting my 44 million this is the first time I feel like yeah you actually did take less than what I would think that you’re worth Bobby and I and I appreciate it thank you very much i mean I don’t know if other teams were offering you more pro maybe not because he said he wasn’t going to take less than his worth but whatever i I don’t know if other teams were offering him more but I do feel like he is worth more than this so um I’m happy about it i’m very happy about it for the Bucks and um I think it’s the second reason why it’s also a steal is because now the Bucks really need him i never felt like they really did in the past as much as Bucks fans felt because it felt like a team especially when Dame got here where it was like Dame Giannis and Chris Middleton were never going to have trouble scoring let’s see if we can make a trade for Bobby Poris and get defense in here but now that Chris Middleton was traded for let me not even get it get started with that but we know that deal damen Lloyd out with a torn Achilles a big man that could space the floor and potentially get you like 18 a game this year and knowing that Brook Lopez is leaving so his floor spacing is going to be even more important where when Brook Lopez was here especially a couple years ago it was like “All right they’re similar shooters bobb’s a little bit better of a scorer but they’re defensively the same other than Brook Lopez can actually protect the rim and so I feel like Bobby was just like less necessary but now with Brook Lopez almost definitely walking with um Dane being out for the year you needing the scoring Chris Milson no longer being there it seems like yeah he’s extremely valuable to the Bucks um this year and I love it because for Yeah for two reasons i think this year it’s going to help the Bucks stay competitive to keep Giannis around and then that’s going to be very tradable especially when you probably you should expect he should have the best season of his career when you see that with Giannis you’re always going to be competitive so he’s not going to be like putting up numbers on a terrible team and um and with Dame out no Chris Wilson anymore like I’ve said and not really a lot of money for the Bucks to spend and go get like some major guy and no assets to go get some like huge difference maker um you play him out for the season or up until the trade deadline and then um move him when he’s maybe averaging 18 19 and seven or something like that and with that contract it’s going to be so tradable that that might actually this might actually be the Bucks ticket eventually of getting off Kyle Kosma because they might say all right you know what we’ll take on Koozma’s contract we like Bobby Poris at that money that kind of balances it out so this is something that is going to help the Bucks big time this year um and when the Bucks do get better scoring they get Dame back um it’s going to be something that’s extremely tradable you would think and so especially with the NBA getting bigger right now you know there were some years where small ball was a thing with the Warriors and teams were like really over mainly the Bucks overvaluing length um right now we’re seeing like just size not even just long arms just like having putting a big unit out there um teams are doing that you know Thunder just won a championship starting for the most part uh Hartenstein and um and Chad Homegrren and throwing Jaylen Williams out there against the Nuggets like Yeah and so um having a guy like Bobby Poris honestly it feels like the NBA is going a little bit back towards the direction of having a guy like that um in some ways although defensively you know he’s not nearly as good as any of those guys I named Chol Grant Hartenstein or Jaylen Williams even but um yeah I I I don’t think that it’s like he’s going to be getting significantly worse or anything like that and uh I think that this is phenomenal for the Bucks so um a lot of people man coming up until now why no trades they only drafted this guy they didn’t draft somebody I love in the draft and I think John Horse so far has had perfect perfect offseason you’ve got to be realistic knowing we don’t have assets right now and we’re not one move away from a championship the move is to be patient and maybe let our guys that we have build up value and then maybe come at the trade deadline will be the time to make a move where um somebody’s going to have to score points and so when other teams start to see Bobb’s averaging 19 and seven this year now we’re going to give you something for him or Kevin Porter Jr comes back oh he’s averaging 166 and six oh now we’re going to give you something for him and so I think it makes so much sense right now for John Horse to be patient don’t give up your last assets just resign guys that you think could put up good numbers this year on a team that will be competitive and then be able to make moves not even necessarily throw away this year and say like the gap year stuff maybe make a big move at the trade deadline and if not that make a big trade next off season um and this should be a retooling off seasonason to try and get guys that are on good contracts and start to yeah just beat a better team that is not as desperate like the Bucks were taking on Koozma’s contract and a whole bunch of bull jive and so so far things are on a good track john Horst don’t listen to any annoy annoying Bucks fans that want you to do something in desperation like trade Kyle Koozo for Demard Rosen or anything like that hold Pat make smart signings get guys on reasonable deals allow allow flexibility moving forward and Bobby I’m glad to have you back i’m a critic of yours sometimes you annoy me you actually showed up for the most part pretty well in the Pacers series this past year one of your better playoff performances ever um and you took a contract that I like a lot so um I’m happy to have you back brother if you’re watching and uh yeah let’s go Buckaroo maybe we’re
