a Kell Johnson Milwaukee Bucks trade makes perfect sense for the 202526 NBA season and the first reason is that it basically is sort of the package that has to be made in order for Giannis to go to the Spurs i think at the end of the day the Spurs weren’t super keen on a Kevin Durant trade because they would rather utilize their young assets as well as their plethora of draft capital uh for someone who’s a little bit younger and for someone who’s a little bit better and Giannis fits that box so just because Giannis won’t be getting traded this off season it still could very well happen at some point during the season or maybe at the conclusion of next year if Giannis becomes unhappy with the team wants to compete for a championship and the Spurs of course have the assets to make it work so first and foremost Kell Johnson going to the Bucks makes perfect sense because he would be a valuable piece and an asset that could them that could allow the Spurs to possibly acquire Jonathan Turko from the Bucks perspective if they are going to make a trade for Kelvin Johnson it’s going to be because Giannis is heading back to the Spurs’ way and in this is in this situation you want to go after some young assets that have shown signs in the past of being you know really solid players or have the potential to become all-star caliber players in this league and I think that Kellen Johnson personally speaking kind of checks both of those boxes so this past year for Kell Johnson he had 77 games played just averaged 12.7 points 4.8 rebounds 1.6 six assists shot 48% from the field just 31.8% from beyond the arc 77% from the free throw line and just overall had a bit of a down season now this is a player that also has been talked about uh in regards to trade rumors for quite some time now so yeah last year was a bit of a step back for him but just a couple years ago in 2022 23 he had a phenomenal season like he was a 22 point per game guy so he’s sort of a nice blend of a player who is still relatively young just 25 years old entering the prime of his NBA career has shown flashes of being a superstar from a couple years ago like he was a 22 point per game scorer so Kelvin Johnson makes a ton of sense for not only the short term but the long term of this uh of this Milwaukee Bucks team as well and if you’re able to package him with some other players perhaps like Jeremy Sohan maybe a Stefan Castle maybe a Devin Vel plus draft capital they’re going to have the assets to make this trade work so I think if you’re the Milwaukee Bucks I’d be going after many of these players and then of course Kell Johnson would be one of them now the last reason is that Kell Johnson as I mentioned before 25 years old very affordable contract um he has three years remaining 19 million bucks next year and then two years after that only 17.5 million so if you were to go to the Milwaukee Bucks have a larger um role in this offense maybe maybe be a 20 plus point per game scorer you’re getting tremendous value here without breaking the bank financially speaking so I think Kelvin Johnson going to the Milwaukee Bucks makes perfect sense to me what do you guys think
