SHOCKING Warriors Signing Incoming? – MAJOR Free Agency Development | Warriors News

warriors free agency reports are heating up right now especially after the bombshell that was just dropped from Shams Trannia revealing that DeAndre Aton has been bought out by the Portland Trailblazers now we all know the Golden State Warriors need to load up in their front court this off season it’s a priority for this front office and DeAndre Aton just became one of the most interesting free agency targets out there on the market and the Golden State Warriors have been linked by multiple reports so we’re going to break down what these reports are saying what’s going on with DeAndre Aton coming to the Golden State Warriors and whether or not it makes sense for Golden State Warriors to end up pursuing this path so lots of stuff to break down in this video but of around the NBA right now first and foremost what just dropped from Shams Trannia as basically news came out breaking DeAndre Aton is finalizing a contract buyout with the Portland Trailblazers to become a free agent sources tell ESPN and right away as soon as that dropped you saw that report there the Lakers Celtics Warriors and Bucks all have clear needs at the center position entering free agency tomorrow as an immediate reply Brett Seagull threw out to the Shams Chirania report that DeAndre Aiden was bought out now we know DeAndre Aiden is by no means a perfect basketball player he is a talented player obviously was on that Phoenix Suns team that ended up making the NBA Finals but if he was one of those ideal top five centers in the NBA he wouldn’t have just been bought out by a team that’s probably not going to make the playoffs out there in the Western Conference so what is he as a basketball player we take a look at his stats first cuz I know there’s going to be a lot of people already have commented that this is stupid they’re frustrated with DeAndre but he is a guy that averaged 14.4 four points per game 10 rebounds 1.6 assists and one block per night for the Portland Trailblazers last season again doesn’t take a high volume of threes so don’t worry about him being a three-point shooter chucking up 18% of those threes going down but he’s still only 26 years old he’s a sevenfooter and he has shown the capability of being on a winning team out there in the past and of course then end up getting traded to the Portland Trailblazers so he’s of course a player that if we take a look at him you know seriously there’s been some concerns about attitude effort and just kind of coasting on talent that’s been the big gripe and that’s been the big thing that is offputting for you know Warriors fans and fans of any team around the league when you get linked to a DeAndre Aiden trade report or rumor or whatever the heck it is but the reason the Golden State Warriors are going to be tied up and reports linked because you know we also had a report drop that DeAndre Aiden is expected to draw interest from multiple teams per source the Golden State Warriors have shown interest in the past but may not have the financial flexibility to take a series push we’ll take a look at that financial flexibility part because there are a lot of avenues for this to go down but of course the Warriors are a team that have expressed interest in eight in the past and the reason is because when you have that talent as a sevenfooter and you’ve shown it in flashes and at the highest level you know he was pretty good out there during those Suns playoff runs until Monty Williams ended up benching him that’s a guy that you take a risk on and the Warriors of course need some help out there in their front line trace Jackson Davis think has a lot of upside you know can block some shots can do a lot of different stuff out there on the court quinton Post you know brought back by this Golden State Warriors team stretches the floor had some big moments in the back half of last year there’s a lot of uh you know solid guys out there in Golden State Warriors and we’ll see if Kavon Looney ends up coming back but basically DeAndre Aton is in a different class in regards to talent there’s no really arguing in that and right now he’s bought out so there’s some options to where you don’t have to give him the course what 20 plus 30 plus million he was making on his previous contract i believe it was roughly around $26 million annually so DeAndre Aton maybe it would was more it’s bought out so it doesn’t matter out there in this current scenario so DeAndre Aton is a player that coming in would increase the talent level out there in the front court will get some scoring has a nice touch around the rim but the Golden State Warriors want to get back to winning championships and can you do that with DeAndre Aiden out there on your team and uh you know if he’s eating some part of your uh your minutes and rotation stuff so the Warriors of course have Curry have Butler have Draymond Green keeping this those guys around we’ll see what ends up happening with Jonathan Kaminga have a ton of videos coming out on him over the next few days yep gemsky and then you know a lot of the talent a lot of the guys that are guaranteed rotation staples are in the back court are guards and wings for this team so it’s really just uh you know Jackson Davis as well as Quinton Post that are those main pieces that are competing out there at that center spot so even if there are questions about DeAndre Aton over the course of a reg uh over the course of a postseason run hey will he be locked in will he be not taking plays off or those types of things i think just the value he’d provide out there in the regular season especially if it’s at the right price would be immense for this team because the Warriors have start right championship pedigree steph Curry Draymond Green Jimmy Butler didn’t win a championship but has that intensity has that same mentality out there with these guys so they’re going to be able to do it in the playoffs but they can’t do it for an 82 game run it’s just it’s going to lead to injuries it’s going to lead to just issues that we’ve seen in seasons past when you put too much load on some aging stars so if you can have Aton just eat up some points eat up some minutes just eat up some possessions over the course of a season take those hits take those bumps and you know be a guy that’s able to play consistently over the course of the season that will be very valuable and then the other part of this is the same way we saw with Andrew Wiggins as a guy that’s not locked in all the same stuff that’s said said about DeAndre Aiden right now that was all said about Andrew Wiggins and probably too you know probably louder in regards to Wiggins owners were coming out and doing all this stuff now it never got to the point where Andrew Wiggins was bought out the Portland Trailblazers are in a weird position they have you know Don Mclling they just drafted a center in Hansen Yang uh they they have a lot of guys they have a lot of guys out there at that center position and Robert Williams is out there too time Lord so we’ve it’s it’s happened before it’s happened before with the gold sores i try slowly talking myself into DeAndre and I didn’t think I’d be in this position here but you get him over the course of regular season talented puts up numbers does his thing and then in the postseason comes to an organization like Golden State is around Steph Curry is around Jimmy Butler’s around Draymond Green day in day out the same way Andrew Wiggins got maximized with this Warriors team you could see that type of leap out there for this Warriors team now the question marks also are you know how would this work financially well Bobby Marks came out and said that uh you know so if uh this here DeAndre Aiden is free to sign with any team despite earning greater than $14.1 million the waiver restriction for second apron teams only applies during the regular season he had $35 million left on his expiring contract okay so I I was thinking 26 it was $36 million so even more significant in terms of that price like again a lot of the discourse about how bad DeAndre Aton was as an asset as a piece just you know you don’t want him on your team is because he had that significant contract eating up that much cap in the modern era where finances are so important like DeAndre Aiden just wasn’t worth that those types of numbers but if we’re in a situation where the Warriors you know currently have are relying on Quint to be you know the go-to guy at the big bad position and don’t get me wrong the floor spacing is immensely valued he’s 25 years old continue to develop all that but if he’s going to be your starting center on a championship team like a team that’s going to make a run out there in the playoffs there there’s some concerns when you know say what you want about DeAndre Aton he was the starting center on a team that made a run out there to the NBA finals just a couple seasons ago so I mean I think it’s worth taking a flyer on him the Lakers are probably going to be a team that’s interested and if the Lakers sign him that leaves other free agent opportunities out there on the board so I’m sure Brook Lopez will be talked about a bunch over the next couple of days you know former teammate like uh Robert Williams for the Portland Trailblazers there’s a lot of big
