malik Beasley what are we doing what are we doing i know you Pistons fans you’ve already seen the news over the weekend malik Beasley uh the biggest by far free agent for the Pistons has potentially gotten himself into some legal trouble so let’s break that down i also have a name that the the Pistons are believed to be interested in to replace Malik Beasley but first let’s start with the Malik Beasley news this came out yesterday i couldn’t believe it breaking news by the way follow us on social media breaking news detroit Pistons guard Malik Beasley is being investigated by the US District Attorney’s Office on allegations of gambling related to NBA games and prop bets the Pistons were in serious talks on a three-year $42 million deal to bring Beasley back talks have now paused i I I can’t believe what I’m reading um I cannot believe it i think all Pistons fans know how important Malik Beasley was or is hopefully can still be but at this point in time with allegations like that the NBA does not play all right Jonte Porter just went through this he is banned he’s out he’s done so if if these allegations are true Malik is finished like and that’s the thing that is the most confusing is if you’re a professional athlete making millions of dollars why are you getting yourself into these situations it makes no sense it’s stupidity that’s exactly what it is and he just is now now since this if this gambling thing is true Malik will miss out on $42 million or potentially more if he were to enter free agency and sign with another team i’ve interrupted the video to tell comcross.com let’s get back to the video i can’t believe it um and it’s uh it’s very disheartening for the Pistons because Tim Hardaway Junior is a free agent Dennis Shruder is a free agent and now Malik Beasley who was a free agent probably not coming back to the team um if these things are true which by the way this is just my opinion um if they’re investigating him they have something all right they obviously have something there’s something that was a red flag or something that popped up so I don’t think they would just randomly select Malik Beasley so as much as you want to have hope that they it isn’t true my gut’s telling me that this is probably true but we’ll see innocent till proven guilty let’s not forget that now let’s talk about who the the Pistons could bring in to replace Malik Beasley because that’s the reality at this point malik was a six-man of the year candidate one of the best three-point shooters in the league i’ve bet out no pun intended not to be ironic I’ve bet on him a bunch this year and he won me a lot of money so uh I understand his importance shooting the three ball uh what he did in stretches for the Pistons and the value uh for him to come off the bench and be able to hit the shots at the level he hit them at now where do they go from here well it’s being reported by someone that is uh pretty reliable i would say that the Pistons along with other teams are interested in free agent Nquille Alexander Walker now it’s not just the Pistons i’ve seen the Hawks are also interested but it says here Evan Cittery uh which I believe I want to make sure I confirm this uh he is from uh Forbes NBA contributor for Forbes and uh he’s he’s semi-reliable and I haven’t this isn’t the only post I’ve seen of this by the way uh he puts here in the tweet “The Pistons are preparing to pivot from Malik Beasley amidst his newfound gambling allegations to Nquil Alexander Walker when free agency opens detroit possesses the full mid-level exception which would go to Alexander Walker.” And he also writes here that Nquille Alexander Walker has a handful of teams ready to pursue now when you talk about Nquil Alexander Walker and kind of look at what he’s done uh and I have this here and I can kind of show you he uh is he will be if he signs with the Pistons a very good bench player uh he is he’s a very good combo guard he’s a good shooter when you look at his career statistics he has been someone that in the NBA you see right here uh obviously was with the Pelicans at one point Tjan Langden guy so there’s the familiarity um but the value he would have with the team the role would be kind of a perfect Malik Beasley replacement role look at his three-point percentages every single year now the one thing you can point out is the attempts uh which I I do like seeing right the attempts you see four and a half attempts he shot 38% this year four attempts the year prior he shot almost 40% like if you’re shooting over four attempts a game and you’re close to 40% three-point shooter he’s playing about 20-ish minutes that’s pretty good all right so I think Nquille Alexander Walker would probably be the best replacement um he’s 26 years old so he’s he’s young and that’s kind of what the Pistons need at this point right now is someone that can come off the bench that can shoot the ball this team needs as much spacing as possible and I think Nikil Alexander Walker will probably be even cheaper than Malik Beasley at least he should be um depending on just who’s offering them and what what’s being offered but I think this would be a great pickup the Pistons have some work to do here now you know Tim Hardaway Jr like I said Dennis Shruder Malik Beasley assuming Malik doesn’t come back but Tim Hardway Jr not guaranteed to come back dennis Shruder he already came out with a video and kind of hinted that the Pistons it’s not really working out so far uh to resign him even though he wants to be back in Detroit so you got to get somebody like Nikquil Alexander Walker you know I think that’d be a great replacement at free agency they just drafted Chaz Laneir shooter which I love the pick by the way it’s especially with this Malik Beasley stuff happening you’re seeing why they need as much shooting as possible but the Pistons have to spend money they have a lot of money available they have to spend it you get penalized if you don’t so they’re going to make moves and I think Nikil Alexander Walker uh to Evan Ced’s report is probably a free agent that people should keep their eye out on so what do you guys make of the name do you like it do you not like it do you think he’s a great fit i love it personally i mean you’re not Again Malik Beasley let’s just get him off the table who’s the next best option i think in that role the Kale Alexander Walk would be really interesting um I’ve been a fan of his game for a while and he’s a very solid role player but let me know in your in the
