LIVE Garden Report: Celtics Free Agency Reaction

hard hat’s all about showing up to play hard doing what it takes to win
if you want to cement legacy win another
he’s your third center
you don’t want to pump him up too much but it’s hard not to this is maybe the most I’ve ever agreed with you what’s going on everybody the Garden Report NBA free agency show we are 22 minutes away from the opening of the negotiating window 6 PM Eastern time here a bunch of deals could be struck literally right at 6:00 and there’s already some stuff in the works right now uh no deals can be made official until the league year begins on July 6th but whatever we hear today is what’s happening the Celtics as we know are not really in much position to do anything other than lose stuff and that’s what everyone’s kind of holding on to wait and see what happens already some not so great uh vibes or reporting for those out there uh hoping that Al Horford will return we’ll get into that also uh this is a really difficult time so I want everybody to pray for Bobby Manning because we don’t know what’s going to happen to Luke Cornett last year he was the first free agent to make up his mind returning with the Celtics at like 60001 uh so we’ll see if Luke does that again whether he comes back guys we’ll start with you right now and again have we finally reached the point where we understand that if anything happens it’s probably not going to be good regarding the Celtics this off season are we there yet or is anybody feeling something different
i got I got there on Wednesday you saw Brad’s demeanor you saw the draft picks they made not filling any needs and since then not moving in any direction to create flexibility to resign these guys i I think we’ve seen over the last four days here that this upcoming season is looking like a reset year so I don’t feel great going into today obviously there’s a report on Horford now that doesn’t look great and I don’t know maybe they’ll do something to restock their center depth here depending on which way this goes today but definitely and I wrote it this morning doesn’t feel like it’ll be a great day in Celtics history today this this last 50 days here John is just unimaginable when you think about if we go to 50 days ago you’re probably still thinking “All right Celtics probably going to beat the Knicks probably the favorite to win the championship here maybe they’ll run it back next year go for a repeat and now here we are talking about a reset year with no Tatum and multiple players now at the door this is This is tough this is a tough tough uh month or two here for Celtics fans you’re muted John
well surely Noah can put a positive spin on this i’m not going to put a positive spin on this i actually will say I don’t agree with how the Celtics front office has necessarily navigated this year because I think there was a case to be made to keep next year’s team as competitive as possible and to see whether Tatum comes back in the latter half of the season or the following fall but you had a competitive team there and I know that there’s always a case to tank and try to get a you know high draft pick and see that how much that player can help you but I I have a feeling I I don’t like the direction that things have headed and I think the initial two trades I didn’t have a problem with because you kind of had to get rid of those two contracts i don’t love the way that the draft went not and I’m gonna I have said this before but like I’m not a draft expert but I I would have liked to see them grab a player that has a high ceiling that could impact winning right away that is a little bit more highly regarded and I don’t I think they went more in like a little bit of a long-term direction um across all the picks of trading 32 not you know picking up a more of a younger higher upside prospect with 28 so all these moves together and we’ll see but it’s not looking great for Alan Luke based on reporting from today we’ll see what happens here in the next hour but you could potentially have lost pretty much your entire championship roster minus Derek Tatum Brown and Pritchard from the rotation you know um and Hower and so we’ll see what happens here but I I think it’s clear John that your initial instinct around like this team is going to be pretty bad next year it’s increasingly seeming obvious um that this team is not going to be competitive um but I don’t think I think that was not I don’t agree with that being the pathway like I think that there was another alternative pathway you could have taken and we’ll see because there’s other teams that to lost their best player to an Achilles rupture like curious to see how the Patriots look next year because you can build and you can look different without one player but not
jumping off the Pacers bandwagon no that’s not what I said i’m I’m saying the opposite like I’m saying that the Pacers give us another potential pathway of like what do you do when your star player goes down um we’ll see though they might not have you know they’re looking longterm they’re looking 10 years down the road five years down the road so there’s a lot of things to consider but I don’t I don’t think you have to necessarily just uh accept that you’re going to be like out of the playoff race next year
yeah i mean look I I Go ahead Bobby sorry
i I I was going to say to your point on the earlier moves the reason was flexibility right and you would have thought okay maybe they’re trying to move around some money here retain a center or two i think you know if they’re able to retain one of these centers we’re having a different conversation here but if you lose both of them today that’s where you start talking about a reset year tank whatever you want to call it and again we’ll get into how feasible tanking is here with the core intact but if they’re going to move forward here with this core and the different role players that have been crucial to them heading different directions here and two of them are obviously already gone you’re just in such a difficult position even next summer and I know they’re going to have first apron space and they’ll be able to make different kind of trades and all that but to your point John I’ll set you up at the lob here you don’t have draft pick assets necessarily or elite ones you don’t have super tradable contracts and you don’t have cap space anytime soon given the two super max players so you don’t have even next summer many avenues to improve here and listen we’ll see what they do the rest of the summer here it’s not all about today
but they don’t have great tank
you do if you tank and you clear the books of all unnecessary uh uh not
how are they going to tank though John i I don’t like I said I don’t want to get into this all over again because I we people don’t know at all what any team is going to do ever we we guess wrong by 30 wins on some teams so just looking at the East and saying it’s impossible is I think is a fool’s errand you know like with the exception of a team or two for the most part sometimes you just don’t we just don’t see it right now and I just don’t think you can guess how low this team can go uh right now without you know uh you know I I’ve put this on paper but without this is the best case scenario without signing anyone i I put Hower and Jaylen in there with Kada whatever it doesn’t matter if this is if this is your team and you’re telling me that this is more than a 30 30 to 35 win team then something went tremendously right and you’ve got big leaps from Baylor Sherman Jordan Walsh uh uh uh uh things you didn’t want you know things you didn’t expect to see in year one from Yugo Gonzalez possibly even JD Davidson showing you something sam Hower making a leap uh Jaylen Brown proving he can be an alpha anthony Simons in a new system all of a sudden yeah I said Sherman right off the bat if this team gets you to 45 wins
then that’s awesome because that means a lot of good things happened uh here uh with this with with players that you’re hoping can make some sort of leap or or prove that they belong you know each one’s a little bit different so I I think it’s great if they somehow squeeze a playoff a top six appearance out of this roster however if you don’t it’s not the worst thing in the world i kind of think they’re in a win-win position here just in terms of what happens this year you’ll accept either result because if they play themselves into the playoffs that means they’ve got more in the bag than they expected and you know and if they tank then you’ve got you know potential at a at a premium player at a high draft pick and who knows what happens there but I to Noah’s point earlier I don’t think it was like I’m not taking a victory lap over like I said I said they did it i I I think what was always the case was this was a step back year but they knew in Tatum Brown White and whatever is left around them eh we won’t be great but these guys these guys can win 45 50 games on their own and and and we’re not going to add anything we’ll deal with a little bit of pain and we’ll see if we can reset the deck in a year or so that was the plan that’s been the plan for two years we’re going to strip it down they weren’t caught blindsided or flatfooted by this they knew it tatum goes down and I think all of a sudden the wheel spin and like a wait a second maybe we don’t need to worry about next year at all
how is this looking with Tatum it’s looking a little
This is where this is where they’re at um and I think they’re fine with it we just have to embrace the reality you don’t have to embrace the tank and you don’t have to root against them every single game every single You just have to We have to embrace the fact that they’re punting on next year so there’s not a concern like Celtics fans or we will look at it like what are they going to do at center and I don’t think they’re thinking that way i think they’re just thinking we’re going to play the we’re going to play the guys we have and and and live with the results and we’re and and we’re fine with it and that’s kind of where we’re at and I think where people will probably I think it’s I mean realistically I think it’s more likely to get worse than get better if they can find a suitor for Simons um and shed some more salary there which I do think that that’s probably the realistic scenario and then you hold on to White Brown Hower Pritchard and then Tatum coming back and that’s your core and that’s where they want to go with it and that’s that’s all they’re going to do but they’re not
so I I I do anything else and I think that they’re I think they’re I think they’re okay with it it’s just a matter of you know Celtics Nation getting okay with it
i mean certainly not having an established center is a great way to be unstable going into a year and it’s not just about this year
it’s not just about this year for me certainly because I think you wanted to be in a good spot when Tatum returned to at least be competitive and without a center locked down and I think Cornet would be a great way to go in that direction horford even I think could have given you two years of some stability at that position i like Kada i I I think he’s capable and I’ve supported him throughout last season and thought they should have played him more i don’t know how he’d hold up if this is going to be a full-time role for him or maybe they go out and get a stop gap guy i don’t know what they’re going to do there but I think you know to your point Noah about the direction and what they’ve decided to do here I I just think you needed to come out of the summer with some sort of plan at center for the long term having a guy under contract at the very least
because here on that I don’t get that
because I think it’s the hardest position to find in the league i think when you take young guys it’s a very
Not really you go trade for Mark
you go trade for Mark Williams done like big deal does he fit your system does he play well with the stars like there’s a lot that goes into it
it doesn’t matter
it matters
i think of course it matters what I’m saying is
it took you five years to get Luke where he was
i But so we we’re not talking about Luke though you’re talking about like you went and got a guy like Porzingis you know after having had Rob who was imperfect and Al who’s not really a starting center per se he’s just extremely capable big man who can do a lot of things for you but in terms of like getting that rock pure rocksolid center you just really you haven’t really had it you didn’t even really have it in Porzingis the last couple of years so like you can build an uber talented roster and have something that’s okay there and be okay around it like I’m not I don’t How many teams out there are rocking like awesome centers right now where it’s like you know well that’s the difference
three centers
yeah they were just overloaded with talent at that position and to potentially lose all three of them was a pretty shocking result out of all this but what do you think Noah
yeah I think my my qualm with like the gap year thing which I understand from a team building standpoint like probably if I was general manager I would have to embrace it because this is just kind of the life cycle of the NBA and they’re inevitably nobody builds a team to try to be a fifth seed right like that’s against the way that this league is constructed and honestly that’s kind of unfortunate because every fan base deserves to have your your TV as competitive as possible and the way the league is currently structured 10 teams every year are not really worth watching because they’re actively trying to lose after January so that’s more of a commentary on just the way that everything is set up than any particular team’s decision my think thing is though the reason that I don’t like the pathway of being like well we don’t really it doesn’t really matter who they have in the front court and what exactly things look like because Tatum’s going to come back and we’re going to reset is is that there’s a sense of like when Tatum comes back then they’re going to be go back to being contenders and he’ll be good and he’ll be back to first team all NBA and that’s where they’re going to go from there and I just don’t I would not want to hinge the entire franchise on Tatum coming back from an Achilles rupture now first of all you have to make sure that he’s the same player which he may or may not be fingers crossed he will but also you have to make sure that there’s enough good players around him that he wants to stay in Boston long term like stars ask out literally all the time right so you can’t just expect that he’s going to be there forever if the p the pieces around him aren’t great so to me it’s like I I would have much preferred them try to keep as competitive as a team as possible tatum comes back he’s that missing piece that they need and you know what if none of it works and you blow up then you hit the hard reset but like we’re you’re not really doing a reset because you’re still building around like when he comes back in 2026 and so it’s all very short term and it’s all one draft maybe that you have a good draft pick not multiple so I don’t know i just I I I get a feeling of like it’s really really dependent now on him coming back and being content and fully healthy and the pieces like coming together next off seasonason potentially and it just feels like a lot of things have to go right to get them back in the right spot
no no again this is like that’s the other part of the uncomfortable conversation that people just don’t want to have there is no solution to filling the roster with more talent unless you go and go further down and so again this is the debate we’ve had you can hold the line with Tatum White Pritchard Hower and Jaylen with and and hope that you get a good pick next year but then you’re not gonna have another good pick for a while if those guys are you know it keeping you in the top four top five every year and you’re not really sure whether they are uh you know finals contenders without pieces around them and without a center without you know uh you know rim protection or any sort of depth at that position and acquiring it is going to be extremely difficult unless you trade players so yeah you’ve got problems like you’re going to be spinning your wheels for a little bit unless you do something dramatic and that’s trade either Tatum or Brown and that’s a hard hard reset and a conversation people don’t want to have it’s just not something you need to do right now that’s something that you can entertain potentially next off season if that’s a direction that you want to go so
their strength is that Tatum and Brown are signed through 29 yeah and they might and they might so that gives you the opportunity to stay with those guys and see what happens around them and maybe you catch lightning in a bottle maybe you you fall so low this year you end up somewhere extremely high in next year’s draft and you get a superstar and all of a sudden you don’t have to worry about anything because now you’ve got a new core of star level players and it makes it easier to potentially trade a supermax guy because you’re not going to be sacrificing as much and you can kind of reload the cupboard and get more lean and more affordable
so there’s there’s there’s ways there but right now you’re right no it’s kind of like a dark path of like there’s not really you can’t really see you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel right now you’re just kind of hoping some stuff happens for you um before we get to it because there’s f Go ahead Noah sorry
no I was gonna say I mean you see it you see what their the vision is the vision is the pieces that are here are going to get better tatum’s going to come back he’s going to be great but what if he’s not then what was this whole plan and so that’s why I just like I think that maybe this is like the the most negative take I could have maybe this is I’m being opposite to my usual self but I just think like this is this is not a normal rebuild situation this is normal not at all
it’s very hard to compare this situation to other moments in NBA history and that’s why I I you know you can’t have the same thought process typical rebuild would have
it’s the Warriors to some degree cuz
those guys were old
they kept a lot of their key pieces though
yeah i don’t know i don’t know that it’s the Warriors and also the Warriors had like had really high ranks and they missed them they missed on him but they had an opportunity to really reload this the Celtics don’t have that that’s their biggest problem is again I keep saying the same thing i’m kind of I’m bored with myself but like they don’t have premium they don’t have they don’t have premium draft picks and they don’t have ascending young talent and so you’re hoping all of a sudden Baylor Shyman is like a starting caliber player which is a huge which is a big like a like almost an unrealistic expectation for somebody drafted 30 overall um but
with the new draft picks it’s almost complete
and then the new one so who the hell knows so like you’re you’re kind of in role player land with most of the people that you have around it except for the known commodities which is again Pritchard you know very well what hower can do and then you know what you have in Tatum Brown and White and that’s what you’ve got whether that’s enough without people around them making leaps or going out and getting other people I’m not necessarily sure let’s run through some of the things that we’ve heard because things could come fast and furious in four minutes here uh but before we do that we want to give a quick shout out to our pals over at Prize Picks uh number one daily fantasy sports app in all of North America make sure you sign up today if you’re interested in playing you can get in on any action that’s going on right now and that includes uh women’s basketball professional baseball and of course you want to really be ready locked and loaded for when the professional football season gets underway i know a lot of people have a lot of fun with that so check it out download the app pick more pick less two or more players up to a thousand times your cash it is that simple my friends play it however you want you can cross and mix and match sports i usually like to lock in personally on one game so I can watch the whole thing and I get a good vibe for what’s going on there that’s how I play it uh you might choose to do it differently but a lot of fun lot of options fun promotional opportunities as well free Square opportunities being given away all the time so you want to kind of stay up to date on that because those are gimmies you can insert them into your lineup automatically and that’s a W so download the app promo code CLNS new users play five get 50 instantly in your account win or lose once again download the prize picks app enter that code cls play five get 50 instantly when you play prize picks run your game let’s get into a couple of pieces of news because it could come fast and furious it was slightly ominous reporting first it was Al Horford’s not close to making a decision uh and probably won’t in the first 24 hours of this free agency window opening and now one of those kind of like we know it but we’re not saying it yet because I don’t want to get anybody in trouble sort of reports warriors making Al Horford a free agent priority this now coming out from mult multiple reporters and the way that this is being put out there makes it seem like this is a done deal yeah and I don’t know how the structure of this is going to look because they’re in a tough cap spot and I I wrote about some of the destinations for Horin and Cornet this morning zeroed in on like the Hawks Knicks on mid levels hawks obviously going in a different direction it looks like at this point knicks had some trouble too here and they were obviously a team linked to Horford but the Warriors on paper made some sense i don’t know what’s going to go on with Kaminga here cuz he’s another floating piece and they’re real tight against the Second Apron here but I do think they’ll be able to squeeze just enough space for him to take a $5 million midle here and this one’s frustrating because you probably could have done that would that have been the end of the world bobby we’re still Bobby we can’t we can’t move forward
i know we’re gonna disagree on it John it’s fine
no I I Yeah we’re still stuck here like they’re not trying to win next you’re only going to bring somebody here on this team next year if you think they can help you two and three years from now we have to stop looking about what’s going to happen next year we have to stop cuz they’ve stopped so we have to stop right unless you think Al Horford has long-term value beyond the Warriors making literally one last run at this thing next year again I just think that they both sides know we’re so happy you came back we we we helped your Hall of Fame candidacy you got your title everyone is happy this is a happy ending to the Horford story i don’t think we need to push this any further i do think Luke
you thought was gonna play for a different team before the end of his career i absolutely thought Al Horford if he chose not to retire was not returning to the Celtics next year without question
i never in my mind though right
no I just assumed that they wouldn’t be able to afford him this year because of their cap situation i I even was healthy
yeah Al Horford’s been gone in my mind for a year for for I I’ve always looked you it’s just the reality of the cap even if you traded Porzingis and Holiday you knew you had no money to resign anybody so at most I’ve always thought maybe Luke on a minimum but I didn’t think Horford was coming back and I didn’t you know did I again I don’t know maybe maybe Tatum changes the equation in my mind Horford’s been gone um but
I don’t think Horford’s going to be thrilled to make this move i I think Boston’s a place he liked i think this is a team and teammates he enjoyed competing with but I think there’s a point of pride here of a role
windows open by the way we’re we’re open for business yeah I think this is a matter of a role because he’s probably going to be a starter here I’d imagine alongside Draymond and payment for
Yeah it’s a great fit but payment also for what he earned last season at this point and again there was some metrics and stuff that said he was a 189 million player last year that doesn’t look like a guy who’s going to play one more year and then be done here i wouldn’t have minded the Celtics going two years 10 million for him if that’s what it’s going to end up being here maybe the Warriors went three years that would have been a little bit of a tougher pill to swallow if you’re Boston so we’ll see what the details are on this contract but it’s not a matter of needing something John i think it’s a lot of intangible stuff helping Tatum get through this rehab helping this team get through a difficult year and then eventually being there when Tatum gets back to help this team start winning then I it’s not a high p price to pay it’s I think tax money at this point we’re talking about with stuff like this like is it worth paying tax to have Horford around here and obviously I don’t think they determine that that’s the case and so
it’s assets Bobby what what is a greater asset to the team to the Celtics right now if you’re looking two and three years down the road is it Al Horford on whatever it is that you can afford him and in order to get him you would have to probably trade a Hower a Pritchard or more likely Simons um so what’s the greater asset holding on to Simon see if you can get anything for him at the deadline or just letting that money walk and getting $30 million back off the books year or Al Horford for two years like there’s no question from an asset and again Brad said the term a million times they’re trying to manage their assets right now al Horford at this stage in his career on this team is not an is no longer an asset to them so you have to look at Simon’s simon’s greatest value might literally be to let him no longer play for you whether you trade him or whether you let him walk and you get 30 million off the books then you’re clear then you can start to do things and and and and operate a little bit differently but I just don’t how Horford is no longer an asset for this team yeah I don’t I don’t I don’t know if I agree with necessarily because there were different pathways to clearing five million this year that’s all you really had to do and maybe they hit a
where are they
maybe they hit a brick wall with that
nyang Hower and Simon obviously the biggest Nang you could you you could and should but you’ll have to send out some picks too but again I don’t understand Bobby asset asset management sending out Nyang and two picks so you can resign Al versus hanging on to those two picks to make a move later on for something that’s going to impact you longer term it’s again you have to look at the the asset not the player al Horford is better than anybody that they’re going to be able to sign now or a year from now probably and he’d make a huge impact on their team next year but I I think from an asset management standpoint you’re just not viewing Horford as an asset i think they view the picks as a greater asset i think they view Simon’s contract as a better asset i I No I don’t know if I’m if I’m wrong here you have a different take i think that if there was a good trade to trade Simons they probably would have traded Simons they would have that space to sign Al i’m assuming they didn’t find anything that was they were that they felt
and that’s a mistake too honestly and so I don’t know i don’t know what the market was out there honestly the Colin Ston trade seeing that he has no value despite coming off of a very efficient year and being an awesome player who I love has molded my thinking that maybe these undersized scoring guards are just there just on a market for them
i told you no i looked across the whole league i couldn’t find and so I think that’s one of the that was one of the challenges the other thing I would say is that are you looking at 2026 2027 as a season where you want to contend like do you want to be a championship contender that year is that how much of a priority is that are you more thinking down the road you want the window to be open from 27 to 30 like that’s one of the things that I guess maybe is a little bit of a discrepancy between my viewpoint and the other front office because I think if you’re prioritizing still next year as like a real title year then Al would be more of a priority because he can still help you then but if you’re not if you’re viewing next year as like year 10 comes back we’re probably going to need a few years and let’s look later in the decade as really where this team has a couple opportunities to be competitive then al doesn’t fit right and so that’s the big question to me is like whether or not that that timeline is like more shortterm or long term and based on the sense that I’m getting here like it’s very possible that it’s not next year well things could move fast Noah and that’s the thing i I think the timeline is difficult to say because as you’ve mentioned a million times one you don’t know what Tatum’s going to look like coming back and how that’s going to affect what you’re able to do the year he returns or really in the subsequent years because he could be slow to start it plays 50 games that first year back as they’re ramping him back into play you don’t really know what you have or whether he’s all the way back for a while and you’re stuck a little bit kind of like wait are we going for it are we not going for it so you don’t actually know there but also because of the CBA and the amount of parts that are going to be moving around with a lot of teams and teams are going to be constantly looking to shed payroll and teams will find themselves in the position that the Celtics are in as well you will be able to reload a little bit faster and more easily than you could in the past i mean they already did it with Porzingis and Holiday they got those guys on the cheap picking the bones of teams that wanted to get rid of of uh salary and it got you a title so again I don’t think it’s crazy to think you could do a fast reload um I just it really comes down to the the bigger conversation for me is and will continue to be throughout whether it’s feasible to do it without much in the cupboard and two supermax contracts that’s that’s the challenge whether it’s possible
let’s talk about the tradable contracts it’s
preured to some degree that’s on the small side now in the cap scale or two it’s a small contract on the cap scale like you’re not getting that guys who are out those contracts
yeah even if you combine them with 17
those guys are out picking their contract by a lot that’s the thing is like you you’re going to spend more to get the same player if you get rid of those guys i I see no value in trading Pritchard or Hower
at all unless somebody lost their minds and gave you multiple first round picks or something but like I I can’t see any value in that so So Yang’s not an asset it doesn’t look like Simons is an asset and we can debate what options they had for Holiday but his salary coming off the books is useful even if that’s all it is
i think you need to get back salaries that you could move for his i think that has to be the goal there because if you just let him
What’s the difference you get salaries that you can move for what second round you’re getting crap players that’s how that’s how he just disappears what’s that noah
you’re talking Bob you’re talking about being able to acquire good players down the road right because right now like nobody’s a free agent and so it doesn’t help like it’s hard you know you’re almost better off having trade assets than having
and they’re not going to be in a good money position a year from now it’s still going to be a overthe cap team with it’s pretty tight up against the first apron because of all these contract
not if you’re trading if you trade Simons down you know
that’s what they have to do
you trade Simons down into two smaller deals you trade you trade somebody into somebody’s midlevel or you send somebody off with a pick or two to someone else that can get they can use that money the point
but how are you getting talent back John that’s
not you’re not that’s the point you’re just getting rid of the money no matter in your tradeown scenario or in the Simons walk scenario you’re basically just getting uh cap flexibility because no matter what you’re either sending out picks with the lesser players to get rid of them and trade them into somebody’s uh mid-level or or you’re just letting them walk at the end of the year because they’re expiring no matter what all you’re doing is getting 30 million off the books that’s what Simons that’s what Simons is whether that’s through trade and you do it now or you let him walk later trade just expedites it but like
and so that’s the frustration
that’s kind of his value talent’s not coming back for him just just just cap relief
so that’s that’s the frustration to me in losing Horford and potentially Cornet today is that you don’t have avenues to replace those guys in the near term maybe your draft pick does that but that’s a complete flyer these salaries you have don’t do that you don’t have premium draft picks going forward so the thought that you can just reload next summer and put a title contending team around and Tatum probably isn’t the case and maybe they know that maybe they know they need maybe that’s why they assess White and Brown’s value to the degree that they did this summer because they know they have to might they might have to make a move there down the line but as of now you don’t have talent at the center position or you know starting caliber talent there and there’s no straightforward path to replacing it so yes Horford was an imperfect option there as he approached 40 but it was something you knew he could play with Tatum and Brown you knew he played well last season and didn’t show major signs of decline and then for Cornet in particular who I hope they figure out a way to resign here today miraculously that’s a guy who grew into a significant role this year flourished for you this season and now is possibly going to walk out of the door for nothing and think of how long I mean it took the span of the Garn Report John pretty much since this show existed for him to reach that level that’s the kind of time it can take for a center to reach his full form full potential at that spot so no we’re talking about
it’s like it’s like find a starting center report years yeah yeah he he’s he’s aged well uh I got to say something that’s that’s that’s bugging me right now is it uh the the last tweet from Shams was 44 minutes ago woge would have sent out about 40 by now what are we doing here can I just say Shams has been blow blowing up this off seasonason for so long that I need un unrelated to the Celtics I need like a big thing to happen tonight because he’s been saying every time he goes on ESPN I don’t know if it’s because it’s his first
LeBron right
I don’t know LeBron’s it is player option like who could trade for LeBron like I don’t know but I keep thinking like he keeps saying that big things are going to happen stay up tonight that was like a week ago nothing happened that night like
that one was out of context no I watched it live I had my TV I’ve been watching hours of Shams every day um I think it’s because it’s his first year with yet and so he
Yeah
he doesn’t know like how to like do the news cycle plus the reporting like he’s still figuring out the balance you know
noah you’re not a Harry Potter fan
no
no all right there was in one of the books Hermione uh who was like the the the straight A student um in that cloned herself so she could be like in a million places at once i swear that that’s you no she cloned herself she had a time turner so she could turn back time and she could literally so you can go to multiple classes at the same time i’m convinced with all that you do all the sports that you cover being able to watch literally every Celtics podcast that’s out there plus hours and hours of shams there has to be more than one of you there’s no way there’s no way there’s one Noah yeah i wonder what I’m giving up yeah i mean there’s only one but perhaps spending too much time consuming NBA and WNBA content and games no it’s a Pa Paige Buers made the uh All-Star team while while you were on here
paige Beckers
yes
and also Brad Marshian signed a six-year contract with the Florida um I almost said Marlins Panthers for a six-year contract for 37year-old Brad Marshian for those of you out there wondering Yeah whether there’s whether there’s life left for uh for uh for uh someone is saying something terrible right now what’s that
simmons to the Celtics no I think it’s a joke
it’s a joke right
hey don’t fall for the chat anymore they they got me so good last week
it’s a joke they’re trying you think that they’re doing it together
shouldn’t have said it
what did they get me last week what was it
it was I was like panic oh I think it was Jaylen traded to the Bulls something yeah
and I was like who do the Bulls have um that’s what it was
chris Haynes saying on NBA TV we used to report agreements at 601 that time has changed right now i don’t know why that is
i wish they told this show yeah that’s slowly been going away from that i think part of the reason was they didn’t want this illusion of tampering going on before the six o’clock time frame so watch that a little bit
but they did it anyway
yeah so I think that’s part of it it’s not fun certainly though and you know we can glean what’s happening here potentially there was some great reporting from Stein earlier that a bunch of different guys are going in certain directions and it seems like it’s Nikquila Alexander Walker going to the Hawks nuggets in the mix there as well dorian Finny Smith is in the mix for the Rockets obviously we’ve mentioned um Horford and the Warriors uh the Tai Jerome deal with Memphis looks all but done so it looks like a lot of stuff is going to potentially move here fast including John Dennis Schroeder getting a nice deal with the Kings
that happened already
12 million I believe the part I just saw is that they were meeting they were meeting with him and Brogden um so and uh I think an important one I think an important one from a Celtics standpoint is um the Mavs have obviously been trying to fill their point guard position while Kyrie’s out
there was a lot of holiday buzz there chris Paul they’re looking at him lonzo Ball obviously went to Cleveland which was another guy looking at there
breaking news the Jazz are guaranteeing SPE’s contract for next season
that’s the That’s we’ve got
honestly good for him though i I like that guy
a lot of guys are not in the NBA anymore that were in his position and he found a way he played well that year when he played in Boston wasn’t much but
this is a wild off season so far brogden is he going to stick around in basketball yeah
yeah he was part of the Kings uh shopping uh shopping list here my point with the Mavs was uh that was one of the very few Simons destinations I saw just because they need a guard and they had some you know some mediumsized salaries to send out there and that one to me is the bummer that you couldn’t get Washington or Gaffford back from them for holiday because those are again sturdy good players medium-sized contracts guys who can play for you that’s what you need to build into the future if you have the Celtics here sham’s notice the Grizzlies are are extending Jiren Jackson okay
those are boring people those are boring we need something more
we need some Celtic stuff
but yeah my point with the Mavs is I don’t see them as a Simon’s destination anymore um don’t see Milwaukee as a Simon’s destination after resigning Bobby Portoris i know they’re trying to trade Conetan maybe that combines with something else there i don’t know do Do you see any Simon suitors though i I just can’t find one i’m not sure i mean
I mean who who wants a guy making 27 million who hasn’t been proven specifically on the defensive end i think also the the fact that Portland the best Portland could do for him is Drew Holidayiday who obviously a great player but is not not doesn’t really perfectly fit their timeline maybe confirms the fact there wasn’t like a great trademark for him
let’s let’s put ourselves let’s put everything we have together and let’s unite because we are a little fractured with everybody feeling and wanting and thinking different things and you know fans are starting to turn on each other in the chat i think we I think we can all agree bringing Luke back is a is a win-win across the board it’s a win for Luke win for the Celtics win for fans big win for the Garden Report um and again it does give you a little bit of stability and normaly there at the center position because I do believe that while I would prefer they lose as many games as possible next year you don’t want it to be like a sham because you you do start to it’s I’m not I’m not worried about culture for people that have won their whole lives like all of a sudden Derek White and Jaylen Brown aren’t going to be bad culture um you know or you know they’ve seen winning this team you know they won a championship they’ve they’ve done nothing but win i’m not worried about that i am worried about people getting pissed off and starting to look for the exits um and that kind of thing happening and I am worried I mentioned this before i’m definitely a little worried of like Brown and White kind of wondering like is this how did you guys how did why did you guys do me dirty like this it’s like what am I supposed to do with this
and we know Jaylen Noah he will not keep his thoughts
he’s going to let it be known
private there will be some
part of it is that we were excited about the prospect of like seeing well you and I Bobby I don’t know about Stephen was on our side Jaylen kind of leading this even what that would look like and like this is not gonna necessarily reflect well on anybody what happens next year if there’s not a big man right like that you know you’re not putting guys in the best position um
I was saying All right oh put
Oh my god on a breaking news show dude i’m just reacting to what Noah is saying right there cuz I said “Sorry
keep pouring with Brown.” So he has an outlet so he has some ability to lead this offense so he just isn’t thrown into this position that’s destined for him to fail in and they don’t do that so it’s like okay you know keep Al there as a you know pick and pop auction guy he’s been playing with since 2017 they’re not doing that so can you at least keep Luke with them a guy that can set a screen and roll and give him a target and pull defenders and all that i just center so important on both ends of the floor i don’t know how a team can function without so again John your point if you want to tank great but for White and Brown who are going to try to keep this team above water this year and get the young guys up to speed and all the different stuff that they’re gonna ask them to do and certainly pay them handsomely to do it’s just going to be grueling and it’s going to be frustrating and I think those guys will probably catch some flak if they struggle we know Jaylen will right no one’s going to go lightly on him making the $50 million if he struggles this year
this is going to be a bad
They’re putting these guys in very difficult positions and
let’s talk about what this is yeah I don’t know if there’s a mandate John and we obviously we asked Aaron about that the other night and we’re always going to wonder that right like that did this team go into this off season knowing that they couldn’t pay tax that they couldn’t be above certain apron lines that ownership just said “We’re not doing it this year well Tatum’s out.” That’s tough for our front office that’s tough for the players and I’m not going to blame them for something that they haven’t done yet John but if they don’t bring back Cornet and Horford and they just die below that tax line what are we going to be saying a week or two from now
but they again it’s bringing back Horford and and Cornet have nothing to do with that tax line they still have
there’s no way to keep those guys with a tax line i’m saying they have a ways to go to get clear of money if if their goal is to get below the first apron and then below the cap they got to clear a lot more money so there’s I mean again I I don’t think Brad or Xarin could have put it more bluntly without actually saying the words but basically we we’ve got good players here we went asked both of them same answer to the same sort of question i know Noah had asked asked it you know at least of Xarn if not both of them and the the it no one indicated that we’re going to be aggressive to see what we can do even though we know that it’s tricky they both just said “We got good players here we’re gonna we’re gonna we’re going to play with those guys they’re playing with what they got.”
The quote you love John was I think we’re always trying to compete with the guys that we have
and and again This is
they have made a lot of people
yeah they have made a lot of people drink this Kool-Aid about the the the flexibility and the draft picks and all of those things it it’s you know if there’s nine if there’s 10 slices in this uh second apron pie nine of them are money and one of them is those restrictions of flexibility um there’s no reason to restrict yourself and penalize yourself when you’re a loser when you’re when you’re not going to be a winner but if this team if they were running it back and Tatum were healthy and the owners didn’t give a crap about the tax they would absolutely stay above the second apron and they wouldn’t care um
I get this reference John [Laughter] sorry for scaring everyone
that is funny 1 21 uh
we had a actually I’m gonna I’m gonna do one of my tangents but Kenny Young uh who is a uh who’s over at ZLX you guys some people might know Kenny um was I graduated with him and our senior show we did a we did a spoof on Back to the Future called you know South to the Future and Kenny was the professor candidate uh it was a professor character in it and we had a girl in our school called Helen Watt and it was uh the line was 1.21 21 Helen watts of energy and it was pretty funny um and that’s all I could think of when I see that line now um so shout out Kenny Young he’s freaking hilarious for those of you who still listen to terrestrial radio check him out on ZLX he’s the B he’s the best yeah that’s right zlx kenny’s freaking awesome uh
we talked about Al
we’re into this
there’s no fireworks um so let’s get into Luke i am a couple of things are interesting the eight and buyout here reset the big market a tad because it shoved everybody I don’t know if you shoved them down but it created another opportunity for some people to fill a need among the teams out there that you thought might come looking for centers um so that’s another I can’t believe people want him
i can’t either i
just because he’s bought out doesn’t mean you have to sign him
so I’ve always been higher on him than other people how how what is there to like like I hate I hate to do this about players and I usually keep it to myself but he’s the one guy really like like what where is the whole
So you never like him
no but I’m I’m talking about right now like where how like what is there to believe in he’d have to have like a personality and like a everything overhaul like I we we’ve already seen how he how he plays so I was I was talking to John when this happened the other night about my experience interacting with him and it wasn’t great and I could tell that that there was some stuff there that’s probably a lot to handle just interacting with him it wasn’t great
um I I obviously there’s a lot of reporting there was like the video game stuff years ago right and again it doesn’t seem like that he’s made the most of his potential I would say but even with that being the case he’s still been a double double every season of his career he’s still a force offensively i think he hit like 50s something percent of his mid-rangers last year he he was great on that end of the floor pulling up from like 10 to 15 feet he’s so talented i remember back when I was locked in on college basketball this is a guy would tune into every night at Arizona just basically dribbling up the floor every time and scoring every time when he was the number one pick that year and then he was the starting center on a Suns team that went to the finals and went up two nothing and he was hailed as one of the few centers in the league that could switch and guard every position so I don’t know how we went from that to this clearly there’s behind the scenes stuff I’ I’d imagine involved here and work ethic or just fitting in on a team or all that stuff um but I’ve just the player know I’ve always liked that the talent is undeniable here so that’s why teams take a chance i know that doesn’t always translate into guys succeeding or thriving but the Suns didn’t get better trading him away for Nerkich in that deal i’d take a fire on him i don’t know if the Celtics will but the talent’s there with a guy like this it’s just will everything else match yeah guys like him i just think about all the guys that don’t get opportunities that could have a ceiling but you know probably will never get the chance because they didn’t play for a big school or they were undrafted or whatever i would take a fly on one of those guys before I would take a flyer on Aiden i’ve just seen enough that’s that’s my take there’s like there’s like five guys in the NBA that I have that stance on where I’m just like I don’t he’s he’s one of those five
and they obviously value the character stuff right and they’ve done well with that over the years recently so I get it if you want to stay away I don’t mind you know the Lakers have tried Dwight and Wood and
the Lakers are linked to him right now right
yeah so they they’ll try any center who’s available out there just regardless of the problems
so let’s let’s let’s talk let’s talk Luke um so Bobby you know I don’t know if anybody here knows Luke well
um or has a pipeline to Luke um but uh right now again short of clearing out space which the Celtics did not do and yes look is it possible Celtics make a move to go back over the second apron and then go back down yeah i mean that Memphis extension right now puts them in a really weird spot moneywise they’re going to have to make moves off of it you prefer to do it beforehand rather than after because once every team knows that you have to shed salaries you’re in a position you’re in a desperate position but the Celtics didn’t do stuff to go lower that doesn’t mean they won’t i think they’re going to I think very much they’ll let those guys go out there and see what’s available and then come back to them and say “Okay I was offered 10 here can you can you scrape together eight you know for three i’ll come back for that.” That’s possible um and the Celtics could do that go over and then see if they can make a move or two to get themselves back under um that second apron if that’s the bare minimum that they’re expected to do again we don’t know the owner’s minds but let’s just say just getting under that second apron was the most important thing and they’ve done it if that’s their line for this season I think that they could find a way to get Luke back i don’t know about Al but I think they can find a way to get Luke in i’ve grown increasingly discouraged just because of the money and when you look around the league there aren’t a lot of teams that can offer him the full mid level but there are a few and the Spurs have been connected to him that’s a team that needs a center next to women or at least playing behind him the Hornets to me make a ton of sense they don’t have a center right now so he could step into a starting role there get the full midle familiar with the coaching staff all that the Bucks are probably going to lose Brook Lopez here they’ll have a full mid level as they try to piece this thing together around Giannis and he played there briefly uh during the emergency COVID contracts and all that he was probably there for like a couple weeks but uh Clippers even I know they’re linked to Clint Capella right now so they’re probably going to go in that direction I’d imagine so there are a handful of teams here that I think could sign Luke and I don’t see the Celtics without a move here like if there was a move yesterday that said Simons went out and 10 million freed up here and the Celtics now have 15 million under the second apron I’d be like “Oh here we go they’re about to sign Luke to you know full mid-level money here.” I’ve said all along I thought there was a chance that they could keep him for five years 20 million i thought that there was a pathway to if they squeezed a little further under the Second Apron maybe you could get to like 25 28 cuz they have bird rights on them so they can pay him whatever they want it’s just not crossing that line like you mentioned there John but when we’re starting to talk about two years 28 at the minimum three years 44 which is what I think the Spurs and Hornets can get to here and if we’re talking in an hour here whenever this thing’s going to happen about a four-year deal worth over 50 million i mean there was no way you were getting to that so I don’t know what’s going to happen here yeah i just see a lot of bigger roles available to him out there and bigger money available to him out there and I said it at the time he had a $7 million offer last summer for one year with Utah and he passed that up to take two three million from the Celtics you can’t do that this time around when you have this kind of opportunity when you had the season you just had um 30 years old like none of that’s promised especially with the team dismantling a little bit here and I talked to him last fall about why he made that decision to take so much less money when there were multiple other offers available to out there and the biggest thing he mentioned was that the whole team was coming back and he wanted to be part of that and now that’s obviously not the case here and his exit interview to me was the first time when I was like “Oh geez.” Cuz it wasn’t oh I love these guys and you know I really want to be here and all that it was let’s see what’s out there a free agent deal reported dorian Finny Smith four-year $53 million deal with the Houston Rockets um that’s man they’re going to be a monster next year
that awesome season
that’s a change of teams right there um so that’s the first someone Well and now that one person has done it everyone else can do it right
yep and remember substantial Lakers just let him walk for nothing yeah I don’t know what’s gonna happen with the Lakers but
think of where Well I’ll let you weigh in on Luke first Noah i mean listen if you’re if you’re building this team around who’s going to fit alongside Tatum in the future Luke should be at the top of the list and
I do think that you know is he the end all beall for this off season no but he’s 30 so his he’s not like I get the I get the Al thing i get the Al thing as far as we’re talking three four years from now you know Al’s 39 um but Luke’s 30 and Luke’s playing the best basketball of his career so I would say if there’s a any way to keep him like he should be one of the priorities this offseason and Brad said on Wednesday you know our priority Luca and All are like among our priorities but
he he doesn’t you know he’s going to command more than a minimum contract i don’t know what they offered him but it’s he’s only made 14 million in his career so it’s time for him to get his payday
so this real quick I want to point this out the the Luke doesn’t warrant this much discussion guys luke Cornett is the most that’s going to happen to the Celtics this in free agency here it’s the biggest thing that’s going to happen there’s nothing else to discuss outside of
I’m not going to get caught up on this cuz I think the Luke approval rating there was a time where it was really frustrating and I don’t think people saw what he was capable of or what he brought to this team i’d say the Luke approval rating is over 75% 80% at this point in Boston so I don’t have to fight comments like that i think they’re few and far between at this point
no I mean yeah
I think most people realize what he brought to this team and it was right in front I mean did you watch game five like it was right in front of you the whole season what this guy became for this team so yeah you’re not going to replace him with anything close to that and so I hope for the detractors they’re prepared to see a real step back if they lose
i don’t even know if it’s detractors versus people just thinking it’s not it’s not sexy or interesting it’s literally the only thing they can do at this point so like I don’t you know I I don’t know what else people are hoping for but with $4.7 million I don’t know what you’re getting you’re getting a vet minimum guy at the end of free a when they could after they couldn’t get a mid-level deal somewhere else that’s about it you’re getting scraps um so Luke is the best you’re going to get out of this deal
another thing that was ominous to me on Wednesday Noah
the comment you’re talking about about wanting those guys back the line he said at the end to me said a lot though just along with his demeanor that day like you could just tell it was like and everyone got caught up on the Second Apron thing he said and I I agree that was more reflective of just general frustration about the situation they’re in rather than him not knowing what the second apron meant but the line at the end
we’d love to have him back and all that and you know they’re going to have plenty of options all over the place welld deserved at the same time I don’t want to put pressure on them it’s their call ultimately but yeah we’d love to have those guys back they knew what the market was it It was going to be hard to compete with some of these teams out here paul Reed to your $11 million deal to the Pistons uh com compare that to Luke that’s what 5.5 a year
yeah well done
so that’s m small mid-level money i think Luke’s gonna are both better players than than Paul
they are
so it’s just the market like in recent days I think it became apparent to me you know these Thank you dirk’s got your back Bobby yeah
we talked about we talked about Miles Turnig getting like 30 million a year
thanks Durk we need Luke andis is not walking through that door is walking through any door even Even Fox got bored of his freaking nonsense um I haven’t I haven’t seen him anywhere
should we get him on the Garn Report
no
i’m sick that day
yeah nope pass i interviewed him in Syracuse at one of his camps that year when he came back for the second stint with the
Is this um Darwin putting this out here the story on Yugo they’re drafting him because they thought he’d take a below slot deal oh this was something so this is warranted of mentioning here there was a report I think it was from Fishower that the Celtics were and again this is just something that was indicative to me of where they’re at moneywise and what they’re about to do here this off season there was a report that they at the number 30th pick which is what two three million slotted salary and if people don’t know how this works there are salary slots for draft picks so you’re set to make an amount of money based on where you’re drafted cooper Flag’s going to make 13 something million the 30th pick in the draft makes like 2 million but there’s a little room for negotiation there and it’s either 120% of the number that’s you know posted for you or attached to your pick or you can go down to 80% of what that pick is worth and so almost always every single pick they even if you look at some of these cap websites they just put the number that’s 120% of that because that’s just what teams pay almost every single rookie contract you look at is 120% of what the associated you know pick number is there and so at the Celtics spot you’re probably talking about like 2.7 million and if you go up to 120% of that it’s 3 million if you go down to 80% of that it’s 2.5 million and so Fischer reported that the Celtics were canvasing for prospects that would potentially take 80% of the rookie scale and that to me just says so much because you’re saving what no like $700,000 on something like that and I know that’s significant when you’re battling aprons and tax and all that stuff but I’ve just rarely heard of any effort like that where you’re just going to try to take you know tell a rookie to take a pay haircut there and Fischer reported that Gonzalez isn’t going to do that we don’t have Gonzalez’s contract yet but yeah the fact that they were trying to make a rookie 30th pick take a little haircut to shave off another couple hundred thousand dollar there to me was just like all right
this is a tax thing this is a spending thing this is
trading down yeah that was another I said that at the time too you’re trying to take a guy who probably would have taken if you drafted Ryan Calbrunner Noah that’s like
it’s a guaranteed deal yeah and they picked two guys who are going to take two ways which don’t have cap hits so they were trying to save money in the draft too clearly here and they’re trying to save money a little bit everywhere so that to me doesn’t make me feel great about Luke coming back here
yeah couple couple super chats here um because we’re going to wrap and we are going to we’ll come back should there be breaking news but we are going to wrap this we’ve been going an hour uh Nate want to see Al play for a contender durk had put this up here thank you Nate uh Durk had put up the we need Luke uh wanted to give a shout out there again and uh Christopher Alcott am I the only one who thinks trading Simons to have the chance to bring Luke back is absurd again it it really all depends
i would have expected them to do that
all of the money coming back not just for Luke but you would do it to create a level of flexibility and to get even lower under either the first apron or into the tax as well so we’ll see there guys I’ll before we wrap it I’ll let you do this
am I making too big of a deal out of that them trying to shave a couple hundred
well they didn’t end up doing it though like I don’t know how often teams are calling to assess players willingness to have different contracts the reality is they still grabbed a guy who is not doing that based on Fischer’s reporting so
I I thought it was kind of an Had they been like “Oh we passed up these three guys to take the guy that’s willing to pay $200,000.” That’s more of a story but this was more of like a process story that I’m not sure
Yeah how newsworthy it is compared to the usual years
because if that’s the case you’ll just trade down and out and just and then deal with whatever
yeah they still selected Hugo with the 28th pick they still paid or they’re still paying him the whole thing so
yeah if you want to get out of that stuff and you want to get out of a slot you probably just kind of trade down and just I don’t care i’ll take the next guy available this doesn’t mean a lot to me so I think they liked him enough to take to stick and pick so maybe not i I might tend to agree there with Noah i do think the trading down out of 32 was very much because we don’t want to pay it and that that doesn’t sit well
that might have been where they found the savings that they were
because that’s like again you got you got to take shots at players if you thought if you even thought any of those guys had a 10% chance of being um being a contributor in any capacity uh trading out to save a couple of bucks is is is is not great um I’ll ask you before we wrap guys each of you here the fact that we don’t know anything definitive yet makes you feel better or worse about Al and Luke it doesn’t have to be you don’t have to have an answer that fits for both of them u you know what are you guys thinking right now that we didn’t have the 601 reporting on it
it makes me feel like free agency’s washed because I feel like we this was like the high part of the offseason i don’t think it means anything there’s been nothing really going on around the league um you know Adam Himlsbach reported yesterday that a Al might is mulling his options and that he’s not expecting anything today so it’s possible that that was kind of his plan but as it relates to Luke or just in general deals like nothing’s really nothing’s really been happening here there’s been a few deals in the last 40 minutes which is unusual so I think it’s more of a reflection of people trying to not get spined the way that the Knicks did a couple years back with the tampering stuff
yeah especially with reporting coming out ahead of time i I’m interested what’s going to happen with Horford because listen he was at the facility over the last couple weeks his family’s here all that maybe that stuff’s overrated i do think until pen goes to paper there with Golden State i’ll be curious about you know both sides maybe at the last minute trying to figure something out there because again I I think that just be a tough ending for that player for this team you know what they’ve meant to each other over the years here it’s probably still going to happen the way the stuff’s reported John like you said when you start getting like serious interest and all that stuff it feels as good as done but I’m holding out hope that something can happen there and then of course with Luke I think there’s going to be money out there for him but we’ll see what happens there as well and
I think that’s another guy who from everything he said to me would be hardressed to leave the Celtics here but you have to do what’s best for you and your family at a certain point and like Noah mentioned he hasn’t made the most money in his career so he’s got to cash out no doubt about it
that’s what I don’t that’s what I I don’t get from a Luke perspective is what are you returning to and again this is your one shot you’ve been making $2 million every single year and someone’s about to throw 20 million at you over however many years like you got to take the money
20 million John that’s the thing you can’t expect Luke to take a pay cut i think Al’s in a different spot but at a certain point like he’s never really cashed in
yeah Al’s made money
and he’s coming off of a career year and who knows you know you don’t know when you’re going to be healthy and all these things like you have to capitalize i looked it up
14 million for Luke career 238 million for right they’re in completely different positions
yeah yeah come on
and Luke’s in their prime right now
and also
in his prime so
yeah this is his last best shot at it and so I I would imagine he’s going to try to try to cash in here and I think it’s the right thing to do so if you truly loved Luke Bobby you would set him free um but that’s you know that’s just how it goes it’s going to be devastating and we’ll talk about it if it happens but yeah

  1. Typical still being emotional. You would trade Simon's to keep a 40 year old Horford ?????? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 yall work for the team and straight delusional. That makes noooo sense.

  2. These takes are insane! Anytime you have an upcoming star or a star in Jaylen brown and Derrick white you don’t wanna tank a year. It’s not a rebuild year it’s building around those 2 players

  3. 2:25 good grief guys get a grip, minus the Tatum injury we all knew this was gonna happen after this past season, we’ve been in quite the playoff run the past 8 years with a championship to show for it, it’s just a down year possibly…let’s not act like this is the 1996 Celtics level of doom and gloom🤣🤣🤣have a little faith in Brad guys!

  4. bobby always cutting noa off lmao cmon bro let her cook she actually has good takes ppl want to hear them
