it’s official right it’s official even though we don’t have details
right we don’t have details on it but Fred Katz is a respected NBA writer he’s been around for a while he says Shruder and the Kings
will agree to a deal does that mean Zoom calls off or Right i know right did they wrap it up and say “All right you got the job or what?” Wow it’s going to happen

i’ve been on months big fella right after the season Dennis Shruder was one of the first guys I mentioned i said “You know what looking at the free agent landscape if we were going to do a stop gap who would make the most sense?” And I thought Dennis Shruder and here’s why
and and we’ll see you know when it becomes official and you know other people start and we get some details but here’s the thing about Shruder that I love he’s a gamer ladies and gentlemen look at him at Detroit this past season 28 games 10.8 points 5.3 assists in 28 games he played 25 minutes and I thought whoever we got at that point guard position and I know a lot of people like Tus Jones but we saw what happened to Tyus Jones in Phoenix tyus Jones got ran over like a speed bump by Kevin Durant he kind of disappeared disappeared booker and Durant said “Give me the ball and get out the way.” You ain’t doing that with Dennis Shruder shruder is running the show shruder will look off Demar will look off Zack and I’m not saying you know uh he should be doing that but there are certain times within the game where as a point guard you got to realize no Keegan’s got it going he has the mismatch and I feel like Shruder can do that and he is not afraid of the smoke he was the leader of team uh Germany at the FEA World Cup a couple of years ago that won the gold medal the MVP out there at the FEA World Cup this guy is built to compete he’s not going to just blend in and be one of the guys pass the ball and go stand in the corner you’re going to feel the impact of Dennis Shruder i think this is a massive move for the Kings here in the short term just in a year or two he was a very good maybe even an excellent player with the Hawks early in his career yes and the Hawks were not a bigname team they had they they were really good team but remember they had the five guys that were named co- players of the week uh with Mike Benhenhoer and then he kind of lo well
he kind of got lost in the shuffle a little bit he had an opportunity to sign a big deal turned it down right bet on himself and lost a lot of money
a lot yeah he fumbled the bag on that one he fumbled the bag on that one and he’s been going from team to team for many years now playing reasonably well but I’m hoping that Well I was going to say I hope he’s found a home but this probably is not a very long-term deal either
no probably not i I would say two years you know uh with a team option for the second quite possibly
yeah and people are asking about the years of course we don’t know we don’t know yet so a source uh uh last week I texted with about Dennis Shruder he said “I’m a huge fan of this person very good player he did say fit is the question you know uh I disagree i think it’ll be fine but this person said fit is the question called him super competitive physical smart more scorer than traditional point guard durable and tough that’s what we need at the at the point guard spot the fact that he said super competitive and physical
that’s Doug Christie and Scott Perry’s and Mo right there I think right yes and so I if if this comes to fruition I I love this move i I think this is a good move for Sacramento

it it is interesting i haven’t really seen anybody double down on it just yet okay oh yeah nobody else put put that out there

yeah he was having a really nice year with Brooklyn 23 games there really you look at the numbers really solid year then he went to the Warriors and that just did not quite work he did not fit into what they were doing there uh and then with Detroit ended the year with Detroit and really helped that team that was a
Yeah I thought he was really good off the bench for them uh provided that toughness uh provided uh leadership at that position and you know he’s not the guy for the next 5 to seven years we all know that we we understand that but if the Kings do make this official and sign Dennis Shrutder to me he’s the perfect stop gap because we know he’s a bonafide NBA player this guy is going to compete night in and night out we don’t have to question how good is Dennis Shruder or ah can you know can he fit with the like I don’t think we have to question who Dennis Shruder is we know who he is and it’s not the answer forever Kings fans is not the answer forever but I guarantee you mark my words Whitey and Jay Dennis Shruder on this team is worth in my opinion at minimum three to five extra wins
