574: MIAMI HEAT BEAT FREE AGENCY LIVE SHOW

[Music] miami [Music] Miami [Music] welcome welcome welcome to the Miami Heat Beat podcast i’m your host Ron Carlo Nas with a free agent special live here at 7:17 p.m eastern time on a Monday we got Frankie G what’s up Frankie da da da
bruce Brown one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets
oh wow he’s coming home look at that breaking news live on the show we got Saucy Takes playing through a flu game coach Luke
what is up what is up it’s It’s officially here pat’s bedtime let’s go
7:17 got that chamomile all warmed up we got Tiffany Meeks reality check master what’s up Tiff
what’s up guys it’s been a minute i’m in a undisclosed location
reporting live from the closet um
first of all I don’t know if that was supposed to be a pride joke that was
No it actually wasn’t and then I’m like take yourself out
wow see how See how quick I am with it
i thought about that in the moment and I was like that probably wasn’t a good idea i was like that felt bad that felt bad when I lift my hand front rim um so we are here to talk about the free agency period that everyone is making fun of on Twitter uh because nothing’s happened uh we have a bunch of role players staying or going the most important thing that’s happened is uh Dorian Finn Smith to Houston and Cam Johnson and a first round pick denver’s only first round pick that they could trade was traded uh for Michael Porter Jr so Michael Porter Jr Denver’s first round pick go to Brooklyn and Cam Johnson goes to Denver that’s really important uh in the West and that’s just incredible for them and Miami hasn’t done anything dorian Finny Smith potential target for them off the board um they haven’t been linked to them but we Frankie and I had talked about it yesterday that that was a guy that you know we we like um Bruce Brown uh just as Frankie said just signed with uh with Denver that was another guy that we talked about like hey we could maybe like that um really Miami hasn’t been linked to a lot of guys um what do you got Frankie da da Cavon Looney two-year 16 million deal dollar deal with the New Orleans Pelicans
wow cavon leaving that’s crazy um he’s been really
So who coming in somebody’s coming in
oh Horford I’m guessing or or Capella
or Capella
capella’s on the board
capella’s been linked with the uh with the Lakers though i’m expecting that i think I think Brook Lopez and Horford are probably who they’re uh the Warriors are going for
so I mean I mean really Lou we we can start with you i I don’t really think that Miami has any of these targets just to sign i think anything that they do at this point is going to be Dunc Duncan Robinson centered whether that’s signing and trading him or keeping him and I kind of think that anything that they do is going to be a trade
yeah yeah i don’t think that this um I don’t think that this free agent market as it currently stands um is something that they are even planning to dig into like they are I don’t think they’re going to use their midle because I think if they do they’re like right at the cusp of the eight you know you know them in tax
if they use their mid level they if they use the mid level is 14.1 and everybody has different tax numbers that are plus or minus one but the mid level is about what their taxes give or take one
one million
yeah so so that’s something that you know that they like to stray away from significantly so it you know it’s just something that like you said I think the first domino chip to fall for the Heat will be something Duncan Robinson related whether that’s him leaving to like a team like Detroit that’s been mentioned or him staying here or whatever it may be you know um cuz you know they’re very good at uh letting guys walk out the door instead of getting value for them but I mean right now you know it would suck if it is Detroit because I do think they have the cap space required to sign him without bringing anything back in a deal so not really and and I and I know I tweeted that i want to make a correction you know if they’re going to keep Hardway or any of these guys those cap holds get in the way of that so signing Tim Hardaway Jr you know who has a really big cap hold you know they’d have to renounce guys like him in order to have $17 million of cash so it’s not they can have that cash if they want i haven’t seen any news on guys like Tim Hardaway Jr or whatever so they could in theory have that although they just signed um Bball Paul Paul Reed although you can stagger these signings to to make things work but signing signing him you know as a free agent just makes things tough for for them and everything so continue no I mean I think that’s that’s practically it i think that’s the biggest uh domino chip right now in terms of like it’s probably the one that’s going to happen the soonest like I think we’ll have a response with Duncan situation maybe not today but I think it’ll be soon um you know
it better be today
yeah maybe but you know 7:17
preferably within the next 40 minutes
jesus you’re pushing it i heard 8:00 is the vampire’s bedtime um but uh no u that’s the biggest thing is just Duncan where is he going to go like obviously you know somebody that we’re going to talk about here shortly is Wiggins and how some of these deals have seriously impacted the possib or maybe even improved the possibility of uh the Lakers opening up as an option them losing Dorian finish to the Rockets is something that them being linked to Wiggins like you know like now it the money stuff is difficult to work but ultimately it is an option that is undoubtedly going to be explored at least by the Lakers uh I don’t know how serious their offer is going to be i don’t know how serious the Heat are going to be to move off of Wiggins but you know it’s something that is is at least it’s in the air i don’t know if it’s on the table but it’s in the room with them you know what I’m saying
it’s roaming
it’s roaming
tiff I want I want to ask you about this like so in regards to a guy like Duck Robinson what is what is your preference do you want them to keep him do you want them to sign and trade him do you want you to let them walk for nothing and have the roster spot like if you had your pick what I guess I have two questions what do you think is gonna happen and what would you like to happen with him sadly I think he’ll he he might just end up walking for nothing cuz I mean we’ve seen this before but um my preference um would be someone else leave and Duncan stays one because you don’t have shooting too because if you have this idea floating that you’re keeping all these young guys you need people to space the floor for them like you need to you need to have if you’re keeping Haime then you need a Duncan on the court to space the floor for him so he can kind of get his work in the mid-range do we need to see Haime shooting threes not really like I’d rather see him get into the mid-range and do what he looks like he’s more comfortable doing um you know it also might be helpful having a veteran in the locker room cuz once if you’re starting to unload the older guys you do need a couple to hang around and you need a couple of good guys to hang around um but the reality is at the end of the day you should probably move Duncan to be perfectly honest
however necessary
i think that’s where I am i think that signing him either signing and trading him right now or signing him and trading him at the deadline makes sense to your point about the veterans
listen you’re paying Kevin Love $4 million to I don’t know do what that’s that’s your job big That’s your That’s your job big dog
i actually want Kevin Love I want Kevin Love gone though yeah well they’re stuck i mean he has a he’s last year of his deal
and doesn’t he have a trade clause yeah I believe he has a no trade clause he’s uh he’s in it to win it and by win it I mean playing baby
zatty will be staying another year he will be whether he plays i mean they have that two-way guy at center i don’t know how much Kevin plays but
I do think they value him in the locker room but yeah I mean it’s it’s kind of
that that that’s kind of it and I kind of feel bad because you know people are tuning in to to listen about the free agency stuff but Miami is really frankly at this point held hostage by that by whatever decision Robinson and the Heat make because that is their final roster spot they have 14 players under contract they have the qualifying offer for Drew Smith’s two-way contract and the last roster spot available is for Duncan Robinson if if he signs or a free agent but they have one left not a uh not official news but Mark Spears says uh there’s progress between the uh Warriors and Kaminga to bring him back
oh there you go i didn’t buy that for I didn’t buy that Miami was into him for a second
leverage
yeah i mean Ethan I don’t know if you guys saw Ethan had a report that said uh when the organization heard that they were interested in Kaminga they said news to us yeah so
so damn it
that’s where we are uh with with Robinson
yeah they they just need guys uh like whatever they do they they need to focus on uh asset acquisition and like making some sense of the roster um yeah you know if if you’re losing Duncan you need to replace it with some shooting badly that’s your uh best shooter on the roster your uh best movement shooter and um he get like you said like Tiff was saying like he provides a lot of spacing and uh help and and playmaking for the roster that frankly not there and there’s no clear-cut guy to to step it right in so that’s got to come out outside of the uh current roster
i have a question though like I I guess like you’re right but like
what what do we got luke Cornet four years 41 million American dollars to the San Antonio Spurs
my What are they What are they doing
the The East gets weaker
the East gets weaker the East
The East gets weaker
another
I always thought L Cornet looks like the guy from dodgeball that’s uh that dates the the girl on the other team
that likes the weird looking [ __ ] yeah yeah doesn’t he i hope there’s an option in that i hope there’s an option in that deal let me tell you
I see I see Dennis Shruder is a king now
huh
oh did he do his Zoom interview
oh yeah it’s official apparently
did you know what the Zoom interview was
sign that contract to talk to me about
what are we in COVID times what are we
like what was
What the [ __ ] was that
it was It was like we like you but we don’t like you like you
like we ain’t flying you out like that’s you know first class ticket right right we not trying to wife you we just trying to date [Music] um so as as there’s motion around the league guys I think an important thing here is is uh is tick tock on the LA Lakers uh do you hear that sound it’s Andrew Wiggins and they don’t have wings dorian Finny Smith has left to Houston after what appears to be Pelinka badmouthing his health to tank his value to other teams which apparently got back to Dorian um
that’s crazy
so yeah genuinely insane work just I don’t even know what’s going on in LA but um
evil evil
tell me that’s not L Cornet
it does look like Cornette it absolutely does
just give him some scruff that’s L Cornet right there
yeah just a little like a little you know little facial hair yeah um
you dodge a wrench but not a basketball
so Frankie I mean they Tik Tok I mean the price is going up the price is going up like the price of eggs
yeah man they they and and that’s great but the Heat need to strike on this [ __ ] cuz they this is not historically what they do and uh I’m I’m very encouraged that there’s even rumors about this cuz in my 22 years of heavily following the Heat they they have never I’ve never ever seen them operate like this before uh and I think it’s great man and especially cuz also Wiggins is just like an awkward fit for Miami and I think another season with him I think his value is going to get lower like uh just cuz they don’t really have the playmaking like they’re asking him to do too much on ball and like that’s not where his strengths lie i agree i agree
i als I can I just say too I also just feel like he was slated too high
yeah in the order
as far as in the pecking order like I don’t think that that’s his game and he needed a lot more from him than than than he was either capable of doing or or willing to do at this stage of his career
now imagine him next to LeBron James and Luca
uh LeBron are we sure about that
i don’t buy any of that lebron’s son’s there now if LeBron left his son alone in LA that would be very funny
package deal
dude yeah yiannis go what do we got Frankie what do we got who do we got clint Capella three years 21.5 million houston Rockets return
that’s a great deal so Capella three years for 21
yeah I don’t understand that one
i don’t like it at all
especially you just brought Adams back
7 mil capella wanted to go home i’m surprised the Lakers didn’t I mean the Lakers have been desperate for a center and I don’t know
but you gota want to go there
that’s true but I I imagine the Lakers could have could have offered you know more
you got to want to play there
that’s true
okay fully guaranteed three
fully guarant all right
that’s not our problem
you got to have one stinker in there
that’s not That’s not our problem
that’s making fun of me because that’s a great deal so is Houston now paying between Adams and and uh Capella $60 million for two backup bigs like let’s guys and then they paid Jabari Spitzer be be [ __ ] for real
i think they still have Jollandelle
listen this is their version of going all in
if if my version of going allin includes Clink Capella I’m going all in the wrong direction let me tell you
I’m I’m not mad about him being on there and and he’s not a starter i I I I like it i I
I like it i like finished with there too because they’re they all play differently they’re getting the ability to play different styles with different people
that’s fair
they’re just going to all they’re just going to try to gang rebounds 74 offensive rebounds tonight like no threes being shot like they’re just they’re leaning into this
they say they say if KD’s not shooting it it’s coming off the glass
it’s coming off the glass his assists are off the back of the They’re doing something
oh I know their front office is at least awake what is this like six deals in the past week i think that’s more than Pat Riley in three years
i I agree with people that are like Shenun Adams and Capella multi-year deals is funny um I just think the Capella figure is good i don’t really I think I think I think a rim roller is good but
it’s not it’s not bad but you know I know going uh three years more than two years on a backup like you’re you’re destined to be o uh paying a benchwarmer at the end of
on a backup that has peaked on an over backup yeah
but is but but isn’t this where he’s probably going to retire
probably i listen I I I don’t have a problem with it who’s our backup kevin Love and that two-way guy sorry no I’m almost here lost myself here we go this affects the heat too what do we got what do we got harris Levert two years $29 million with the Pistons now they are they have been rumored to be getting more than one guy so Duncan still might go well they already got Bball Paul
yeah but be he was already there um and he he’s a good like third string backup for
that figure frankie just to add on screams midle screams mid-level two for 29 is mid-level’s 14.1 so
that screams midle by the way
so 29 yep
or or like they’re going to midle one or the other but you know it screams midle
signing so you you get you get 8% annual raise so you you can you can fudge the numbers um or whatever you need i still think they could use Duncan Robinson tim Hardaway Jr still on their board i imagine we’re going to hear something about him and then get some clarity now now they have to sign and trade for Duncan which may kind of make sense which we said at the top of the show with kind of all their cap holds and everything so Kaminga we said looks like he’s making some some advances with the Warriors um all you know Detroit kind of using their money is Miami gonna get ducking back on a really cheap deal what’s going on what is What is with these agents if he stays here on like a mega cheap deal I have a lot of questions i think he just wants longevity like he had one year for like 19.6 if he can add two years for 20 on top of that like I think the figure that you threw out on Twitter was pretty accurate like somewhere in like the Yeah three for 39 to three for 45 I think Duncan is ecstatic about it and the Heat are happy too cuz it keeps some under that you know the most haunting thing that to them is that damn luxury line
i just also think if Duncan stays and this this whole script remains the same
where is he playing the these are part of the problems like he’s nice to have for some of the young guys but then it’s like you can’t keep everybody and then think everybody
Yeah and then think that young guys are going to get opportunities when last year right
when they were hurt the young guys were not getting opportunities so I listen I know pain this is what it feels like
i think we’re all in agreement that I don’t think which is why like I don’t like the idea of like John Collins here or something like that where No
I want them to play the young guys i want I don’t want John Collins to get minutes over Nico
i I don’t need that i need Nico to play a lot i need Pel to play a lot i need Jaku to play a lot i need him to play a lot for better or for worse i need their young guys to play a lot
like that’s what this is about and if they’re bad they’re bad and if they’re good they’re good you know if they if they scrge up a six seed playing all the young guys that’s okay
that’s fine you don’t right Tiff like you don’t actively [ __ ] with that but also like let them let them figure it out like if you get a good draft pick you get a good draft pick
right that’s this is and that’s and that’s where I like at the end of the season that’s where I landed i was like if you’re gonna if you’re going to draft a guy then you got to play the guy you got to play that guy along with Nikki you got to play him with Pel like yeah I get it we got to weave in some vets you know every now and then but these guys got to get real minutes because like we need to know if Haime hit like a wall last year like who’s the real Haime was it the first season or was it the second season like we have no idea i mean we kind of know but we have no idea i was about to say now
Draft B had her first
speaking of Draft B having it first uh I do want to give Tiffany Meeks credit for putting uh we we checked the We checked the tape and reviewed the film and Tiffany had it first
with the Casper Siakonis uh selection she went she was like
“That’s money.” Tiff Tiff told us like a long time ago like “Uh well have you guys looked at this guy?” And and we hadn’t seen him because he wasn’t projected to be in our spot tiff had her first ball
she beat the deuces which is pretty huge just so y’all know that’s going to be the only draft information you ever get from me uh I want to talk a little bit about uh while we while we kind of wait for his news to trickle in i want to talk a little bit about um this this rumor of John Collins to Miami because we just kind of brought it up a little bit where he’s being linked to Miami a lot of people are saying “Oh you know he that’s a that’s a likely destination if he gets moved.” And to that I ask how because the Utah Jazz have cut every have tried to clean up their guard rotation they sent Colin Saxon who’s a better player than Terry Rosier away with a second round pick to to to get off his money they bought out Clarkson why would they trade because everybody’s like “Oh well Rosir just straight swap for Collins kind of makes sense moneywise and everything.” And then I just asked like “Why would why would they do that?” And they’re like “Oh because they could just cut him.” And I go “Well you could just cut Collins.” Like you know like any I don’t understand why why Utah would do that and why Heat fans have diluted themselves into that i don’t want Collins for all the reasons that we just said but I just wanted to talk about that a little bit um do you guys see a way that that makes any kind of sense for either team i mean I see why it makes sense for the Heat if I’m being honest like I know that we don’t but at this moment in time we don’t have any big behind like Bamon and Kell so if he’s willing to come in here and come off the bench and just play um I don’t think he takes any of the young guys minutes truthfully away like well at least he should
play 20 minutes a game dude like
yeah which is at least
but but to uh you know gee to to that point I just don’t know who is going to play those 20 minutes of backup five like if if is is it still going to be Bam who’s going to be the third big it’s going to be some
we could do Yeah what I’m trying to what I’m trying to say is we could do worse than trading Terry for John Collins and from the Utah perspective is they’re trying to lose again like they this team does not care they like look at the trades they’ve made so if they get Terry it’s like he sucks so bad we don’t have to play him like the film’s out on him last year it it’s a to me it makes sense from their perspective
you don’t have to play John Collins yeah but like you know last year apparently they they got into some trouble for that
like I don’t know i just I just don’t really I don’t really get you know I don’t know i just that doesn’t make it makes sense if it’s part of a bigger Wiggins trade that if they’re a third team right and that salary gets moved or whatever it also makes sense if you have an identity
like what what is what is this you like this is you’re literally just adding players like no shade I’d rather just keep slow-mo like I’d rather just keep somebody you already got in house instead of bringing in someone who is a starter expects to start now you’re telling them they got to come off the bench because he ain’t starting on this team while you got Bam like none of that none of this makes sense to me I feel like you got you’re taking a guy now you got to force him to buy in we did that with Terry and look what that look what that got us
playing back
hey
I just think also like take get the worst of the worst just get rid of what you got because then they ain’t got to play you can play the young guys until they can’t play no more get guys who may not expect to play get pics just get [ __ ] groceries like I don’t care just don’t bring right do anything but don’t bring in guys that are going to expect to play over who you already have cuz you’re not winning you’re not contending so like just see what you got
unless they’re young unless they’re like young and you like DaVon like DaVon like okay I’m bringing in a project who I see could be a part of the future you know not super young but not you know kind of in a place where we can invest time in him and whatever what you got Frankie according to Barry Jackson oh [ __ ] at least for now has bypassed setting up a meeting with Warriors restricted free agent Jonathan Kaminga and did not aggressively pursue him in the first hour of free agency there’s been contact between the parties but no aggressive heat pursuit as of this point
so uh
Kaminga going to the Lakers they better they better start making some Wiggins calls before he goes to the Lakers so so can you repeat that again Frankie could you read that tweet again at least for now the Heat has bypassed sea set setting up a meeting with Warriors restricted free agent Jonathan Kaminga and did not aggressively pursue him in the first hour of free agency there has been contact between the parties but no aggressive heat pursuit as of this point
what are they looking at across the bar what does that mean
they sent him a drink and they said
sent them a drink and it was and it was and the beer was flat that that means there was no Zoom meeting no Zoom meeting where’s Ethan ethan answer you for your cry
ethan said uh that that they’re they’re hearing the same thing it was overstated at least for now
okay well
that’s Ethan’s response to it
so that’s a big that’s I man you got me excited when it was Barry Jackson i was like “Oh Barry.” I go “What we got we got news we got local news.”
Trilly said Barry’s uh articles in and out update there is no update that’s all Barry has to say anymore no I I I get what Lou is saying though about the Collins idea um I I don’t like I I don’t like like Collins is fine like he’s serviceable but like uh and they do need a a legitimate backup um unless they’re going to go like super small with Kashad
what about the What about the two-way guy isn’t don’t they like
G G We need NBA players like come on
do we we’re trying to lose i thought we were trying to lose
what are we doing we trying to lose but we need we need
What happened to tank what happened to tank season what happened to all the the you know be bad picks
i mean they’re going to be bad regardless of what we do
like it’s it’s not just losing like you know like yes I would love for them to lose you want to you want a stealth tank you want to develop you want to develop
it’s it’s not it’s not any of that to me personally it’s you already you already took a chance on the Rosier experiment and it very clearly failed john Collins is a local kid who has had some upside if all it takes for you to get him is Terry Rosier and then you can reflip him at the deadline when his value is high enough
oh agreed i just don’t think that makes sense for you
no and again my point of view from them is they don’t even care anymore but I I don’t disagree with you i don’t disagree i’m just saying I would like for them to take if they’re going to make a trade and it’s going to be a trade that’s like a like what is this like a whatever trade
for your bad guy
yeah a my bad guy for your bad guy [ __ ] take the take the bad guy that you know has had some recent stretches of of being able to fit into the team even right now like cuz the the if we expect Golden to be the backup big then we really are let me tell you that might make me real happy but in upset fashion real quick to uh Barry Jackson goes on the bright side the Heat have a playing super team one of the best playing teams of the modern era
the best playing team of the modern era hang the banners
go guys there go there there you There goes your free agency right there what were you gonna say back it up i don’t know i’m not a big component i’m not a big like believer in like bring somebody in get their value up and then move them all all value isn’t created equal and we’ve seen Collins be nice and we’ve seen his ass be invisible you don’t He’s Jacqueline High you have no idea where you’re going to get with that dude
he doesn’t have like Jeff you talked about identity he does not have an identity as a basketball player
i know that’s what I’m saying he’s Jacqueline Hyde like I don’t even my whole thing is if you can get off Terry in some other way I’d rather just do it in that way and I don’t and you know what I mean Frankie saw your face
i I don’t even I was looking at Colin stats i I don’t even Go ahead Luke
oh no I was going to say like um I kind of you know like to Tiff’s point yeah he is jackalin high but [ __ ] Terry Roseir is just disappeared like he’s not even he never comes in so I’ll take somebody who’s semi-productive if he can buy into like a a storied franchise a franchise that has culture this this that and the third um he’s still young enough where maybe there’s something longterm there for like cheap or again like he can leave next year you can get more back in a signing trade if he’s a free agent for example than if Rosier is a free agent and that’s kind of where my head is at i I want them to give themselves the best chance to acquire an asset and I think Terry Rosier is horrible you want a starter to buy in there’s a difference if he was a if he was like a high caliber role player sixman then hey go do what you got to do
he’s in Utah i think I can sell him on coming to Miami no you can’t
even Even if it’s off the bench I promise you I think they can
you can’t you really can’t because he wants to be a starter that dude that’s that’s that’s part of him that’s part of his identity you gota convince him to come to be a backup to who where well that was kind of like Frankie’s thing with Nikil Alexander Walker where I was like that could be a guy that they could target you know and because of his age and everything and Frankie’s like he’s not going to come here to play behind Wiggins
right would you
i wouldn’t if I were him no
like Poster Go said
I don’t I don’t know that he’d get like Frankie we talked about like he might get in the 20s i talked about that with with Rohan as well um I’m not going to read that and
I will
is it
what happened
there’s a
Is it
and chat says there’s a huge difference between Mormon ladies and Latinos in South Beach
only people think that if they haven’t had one or the other i watch I watch Secret Lives of Mormon wives you know I I know the truth john John’s tired of soaking john’s tired of soaking his crazy take He took himself up who said that what those those people at BYU be whing um yeah so Chad’s like “Get get Alexander Walker for the mid level.” I just I kind of think that that’s I don’t think he’s like I talked to Rohan today and Roan’s like I think he might get in the 20s and I was like I don’t think any team is going to pay him that because the only team that can will be Brooklyn or signing trade but I I I think he will get around the mid-level i just don’t think that he’d want to come here he could play for better teams there’s a better teams that he can play for and play for like real things instead of a rebuild project like guys like that join a rebuild project if like you have like $25 million to give them and they’re like “Fuck it i’ll I’ll be on my I’ll be in Miami get paid and be bad [ __ ] it who cares?” Um you know they’ll get good again eventually but that’s not the situation they don’t have like more to offer than everybody else and I’m not judging them based off of this week i’m judging them off of what the team’s like in February because I think they should that’s when the deadline is that’s when the trade deadline is they got to trade guys they have to They have to show me that they’re committed to playing the young guys they have to show a direction go ahead brook Lopez two years $18 million deal los Angeles Clippers
oh wait did you say Clippers
clip that’s crazy
oh
he’s gonna be interesting
uh Zubac so he get he he he went for the backup role instead of going to the Lakers that means probably DeAndre Aton’s going to be a Laker yeah would make sense kind of go there it’s the last man standing at this point i actually like I think Eightton’s better than Brook Lopez at this point also i’m going to be honest
yeah but I don’t think a serious team is is starting Aton well the Lakers i think if there’s a team that could it’d be the Lakers mostly because they’re unserious and LeBron is LeBron and and Luca will get something out of him
and if they can’t no one can you know what I mean like
I mean can you get defense out of LeBron and Luca
uh you can get out of LeBron not
I know they’re not getting it out of Eton they’re not damn right that team is going to be a nightmare that is going to be awful defensively but you know Wiggins can compete on defense he’s rangy he’s range
i seen him
he’s got five holes
what wings man tik Tok
he’s the best defender on the Heat i’ve seen
He is nontop he got a non-stop motor dorian Finny who um yeah chat’s like “That’s domination to you.” Lamest nickname ever bro
i gotta be honest with you we let Dwayne Wade slide with a bunch of nonsense nicknames cuz we loved him
no we didn’t we let him three three was ridiculous
when you’re great you get to When you’re great you get to do whatever you want and say and call yourself whatever you want he was allowed cuz the [ __ ] banners in the arena all belong to him
exactly i didn’t worn
oh no father Prime and the Lob Father were great
yeah wow was the worst one way of Wade um I thought Dwine was funny
i’ve never heard that one
when he when he dropped the wine line
he’s like “It’s Dw i’m Dwine now.”
Okay
i’ve never heard that before
g just raided up
no I swear got hit by a [ __ ] uh NBA Sentel
yeah he did
senel before Sento Sento’s brand now there’s tennis Sentel i actually tennis Sento is actually kind of funny i’m not going to lie i got
How many first round
G how many first round picks we got
they got two
they have 20 uh they have 20 30 and 20 32
to trade but we got 26 and then one of 27 28 and then all the way to 32
in the next seven years the Heat only owe one pick
which is the Rosier pick
derry so they actually own they actually own six of their seven picks for the next seven years which is how far you can trade out the issue is is that that Rosier pick is protected so the it’s kind of the same thing with the with the Moharkas pick with that Oklahoma City had where like you have these protections and that means that well because you don’t know if it’ll convey in 27 then 28’s also blocked off which means that the siphon kind of the radius of the siphon increases so they have two picks that they can trade right now if they get the Lakers 2027 pick in 2027 they would have four picks to trade as opposed to three when that day comes and they’d be three right now so pretty big you know I think that they I that they value that pick a lot for that reason and I if you trade Tyler Hero which I got to be honest with you I think that there’s no appetite from this organization to trade hero um we’ll see by the deadline right now there doesn’t seem to be a market for him
that that dude that dude sat down with somebody who hugs the Aryan Nation and you didn’t hear peep from anybody oh yeah i was like who you talking about forgot about that
so you didn’t hear Peep which means guess who’s who’s in your starting lineup
they for sure got mad at him there he got mad at everybody for everything there’s there’s no way that their PR team thought that was okay whether regardless they don’t want that they wouldn’t even let Josh Richardson play video games with us there’s just no way they allow that
the eyebrows who’s that yep exactly
is that real see I thought that was Sento i thought Tyler Hero shaved eyebrows was Sento
oh no
you know what was the worst part of that for me was that he was with Terry it’s just like
he lost his eyebrows gambling he makes bad decisions on and off the court too she said he lost his eyebrows terry Ros [Laughter] I’m back
oh my god i missed Tiff
oh my god dude diabolic that is diabolical also true she’s so [ __ ] bad i can’t Yo I I can’t I I can’t believe they cleared Rosier after they saw that film man that’s the most disappointing news of this option
but can we But can we honestly say maybe he did mess his neck up like for real like maybe he literally like whatever happened like maybe he just whatever that nerve from the neck to the brain maybe all of that just all just got messed up
you know what
he looked he looked okay when we got him he ain’t looked great he ain’t looked good he looked decent he went from decent to unplayable and and we don’t even know how the next thing happened
exactly
till this day um gambling dispute right right we don’t know like we saw maybe he was with Jay Leno
i was going to say you think Jay Leno whooped his ass oh man chad says whiplash from big winnings he turned too quick to claim his money he said what ah my neck and my back hero went to Canal Street to get his eyebrows done
oh my god uh G stepped away real quick well uh
Oh boy
no news anymore uh as of lately so we’re we’re trying to keep uh tabs on it uh for right now see if there’s anything to discuss but man
what a what a dull start i was gonna say um because you know we like something I wanted to bring up today is we saw what um what Santi Alama signed for today uh three years 52 and a Oh my goodness one second uh three years 52 and a half million for Santi Alama u you know somebody whose stats and age is two years older two and a half years older than Nico um 17.5 million per for three years is a hefty number and they they had very similar similar splits do you guys think that the Heat would be missing out um or or not missing out like do you guys think that the Heat are making the right decision by not extending Nico this off seasonason or would you rather have him extended why like cuz I’m I’m pretty I’m firm i’m on team extend him a you know right now i think that they Okay go
the cap question first because I you know how I feel about all the numbers where we are now with the cap if you extend him
does it hit
against the cap now or
No it’ll be it’ll be effective next off seasonason so this year he’s he’s locked in for I think like four million the extension will hit next year 4.4
4.4 so it’ll be
So it doesn’t count against you today if he signed today
no no
okay okay
and that’s why I want Tiff that’s why I want to do it because um I think if you allow Nico to play the role that he played for those two months um while the whole Jimmy dispute was going on and he was a six-man off the bench in those 25 games he put damn near up the same stats that Santi Alama did two years younger with you know like a rebound less but a whole assist more same amount of points similar efficiency so to me it’s um you know this is something that he haven’t typically done is get around on these things early they typically literally wait until like the I think the only time that they got around on like the last time they did it I think it was with Tyler um but they overpaid for him then because they waited for him to
I think they have a history i mean they did it with Winslow and Josh you know they did it
but those those two deals were good in the at the time is what I’m saying they they took a chance on those guys before they got too expensive that’s what I’m trying to like that’s what I’m trying to I think they should do it now because if Nico puts up what he just put up what he just put up this year for let’s say 65 games like Santi Alama just played if he does that for 65 games and he’s a whole year younger 3 for 52 is a starting price and it only goes up from there and I think that’s a more uncomfortable conversation to be had uh if Nico can be had for 17 and a half to 20 I think most people would be like I’m good off that but if you can get him now for around 13 to 14 for three years I think a lot like I think in the end in the long run it’ll pay dividends for you having a you know a player who can most like in my opinion will outperform that contract or not be a negative asset to the team under that contract and that’s that’s what I think that he should be focusing on like long-term how to capitalize now cuz their situation is kind of bad anyways um so that’s kind of where I’m at with the whole um Nico conversation yeah I I I think getting ahead of it is good especially at this rate like uh if you can get it for cheap you save money in the long term and like he like you know somebody in the chat saying Nico’s overrated and stuff like whatever whatever you feel about him he’s a productive player and uh you need to stack those chips and like those guys are valuable because their upside like a Nico at at 12 million is going to be worth more in a trade than Duncan at 12 million even though Duncan has the resume just because of age and upside that Nico has potential to get better duncan in all likelihood is probably going to stay the same and and and drop down that’s why you want to stack those guys because like like Lou mentioned Josh and and Justice even though those guys never uh really like got better from the from the time they signed those guys were still really valuable in trades josh helped them get Jimmy justice helped them get off of Dion and James Johnson and get them uh Iguodala Crowder and Hill
yep that’s what I’m trying to say like you want to stack the chips and they Davon’s their only midsize contract so getting Nico on there uh for the future helps
yeah this doesn’t mean sign him and and he’s a Heat lier forever it’s just sign him to build an asset because if he does really pop off you know he’ll be a good asset a great asset a sensational asset i sound like Let me let me Hey delete that i don’t know i don’t like who I sound like when I said that but um realistically like he’ll be a valuable player as opposed to um like somebody’s still going to believe even if he gets hurt or something like I I truly think that’s the only way that the value is not um like that he tanks his value is due to like some serious injury
so I I think the only ar the argument I could see against it is I think that they like to sign those deals and extensions in years that they have plans when they’re going to do it right so it’s like they like to work with the players whether that’s right or wrong or antiquated they like to like okay like we’re not going to pay your attention now we’re going to give you your money just like sign it like after because of the order of operation that makes this easier for us to make a move or not right that’s typically what they like to do which is why they wouldn’t um chat yes it is indeed a Jeezy shirt I got at the concert I went to on Friday went to the Thug Motivation 101 20th year anniversary i should have wore [ __ ] cowboy boots and a cowboy hat there
if we if we trying to if we trying to one up G
Listen I’m wearing my new shirt i got on Friday i was I was I was excited that’s my It’s my guy it’s my favorite I I said this last show it’s my favorite record that’s my favorite rapper
uh you know
it’s cute or whatnot
g said it was the the best night of his life in front of his girlfriend uh she was she was a good sport hold on Tim so let me let me let me answer Lou’s question here so next in in the 2026 season when um his extension would theoretically kick in the players they have under contract are Bam 51 Tyler at 33 Wiggins at 30 if he’s still here Mitchell’s final year at 12 uh and then a bunch of unre a bunch of unrestricted free agents and Kyle Anderson right k also a non-g guarantee that
he’s a ng guarantee they have Khil Wear uh they have Haime and they have
just the young guys
perfect
and and J and Jaku so that’s kind of what it is tyler that’s Tyler’s final year before he’s an unrestricted free agent and I think they want to make I I imagine if I’m I I know them they want to make that decision together they they want to sign Tyler’s first and then um and then do uh Yovic’s i think that they’ll offer them around the same time next year i think that they’ll probably do that with Hero as well because I think they want to know what their 2026 is going to look like before they give him that money whether that’s right or wrong I agree with you i would just give him the extension now but that’s what I think that they’re thinking well that’s what I was going to chime in and say i I love Nikki but like you don’t have a plan you don’t have a plan like it just seems like we have a collection of players we don’t have a plan for any of the young guys so it’s kind of like what it’s just kind of like directionalist like I like get into this season see what you want to do play him that’s first and foremost you have to play him
yep
um I don’t know how you’re gonna play him because Wiggins is gonna be playing there
haime needs to play there like I don’t So I don’t know how any of this is going to work but like you don’t you don’t know what you’re going to do with him so to even to even pretend to invest in him right now for to me would be foolish like either you’re going all in and say we love this kid we’re going to offer him the extension or not but like if you’re not sure then you need to go into the season with him playing i agree
i mean I I don’t disagree and just to like play a little bit of devil’s advocate to that Tiff is we we’ve seen the flashes that he’s already shown and they’ve been reluctant to play him like imagine if they feed into like okay this is somebody that we want to eventually develop into something or maybe we can get something out of him if they believe that which is to your point and it’s the whole premise of the argument you don’t know if they do [ __ ] i don’t know either to be honest but if they if they let’s say in theory they do believe that then there is no better time to give him that extension than right now because he has not even peaked because they haven’t even put him at the forefront of like what they’re trying to do in terms of development long term or whatever it may be the Boston Celtics agreed to a 2-year 5.5 fully guaranteed deal with Luke Garza
whoa let’s go Luke Garza they got their
I have another one i have another one give me the sounder atlanta and Minnesota are in an active conversation on a sign and trade for Nquila Alexander Walker
told you it was always Atlanta for him big news active conversation that’s big news that That’s huge huge news
i just want to be fun why can’t we just be fun i want to be free atlanta’s going to be fun to watch like because Atlanta has a guard that can make [ __ ] happen we got a guard that that you know he’s pretty good not great who are you talking about
tyler tyler’s pretty good not great atlanta has a guard that can make stuff go you know that that young man over there Lollipop he can you know he can really stir a drink
because they’re two different players
well yeah one’s a lot better than the other i don’t like doing that because I like Tyler and I I think people
I like him too say Tyler’s better no he’s not
don’t point g is not the Tyler hater guys it’s me
no G is not
i think I’m very I think I’m very in the middle on Tyler i think I’m like so in the middle
tyler is a good player he is not great
he’s okay yeah
he he is a good player but you need other things around him to accentuate his goodness does he agree with that Tiff
yeah all I see him on my timeline is Panthers news and people complaining about NBA free agency
bill ZTO GM of the year
whoever that is
he was robbed i’m ready to run it back
i Tiff you know before we get into our last topic I don’t think running it and Frankie and I said this yesterday i don’t think running it back is a problem i think it’s the intention to which you run it back
i think if you run it back with with intentionality to play your young players to develop Khalil Wear to develop Jaku to develop these guys give them
I’m calling him Jaku
what is his name
cash
i call him Cash Money
that’s a great name
cass Cass
nope
kj i call I call him Cash Money and y’all going to find out why uh Tiff knows Tiff knows Illinois um I would like them to if they’re going to run it back just play those guys and invest in their future in that way and by the deadline I want guys gone i want if they’re not going to bring back Haywood Heismith I want them to trade Haywood Heismith haywood Highmith is a really good basketball player who can help a team they if they get seconds for Haywood Heismith they get seconds for Haywood Highmith doug if Duncan Robinson’s here he should be gone by the deadline i want Andrew Wiggins gone by the deadline i want these guy I I want these guys traded for stuff to help their future and in an ideal world I think they should try to move Tyler Herro don’t think that happens um if anything which again it’s every day that passes his value decreases cuz nobody wants him on an expiring contract when they have to pay him a ton of money what happened Luke
um we need the sounder guys
oh I see it soundera oh oh me i got you way to fumble
hey sorry guys ah
don’t worry get him out of here get him out of here nikio Alexander Walker four years 62 million big ones

  1. We need to withdraw for the league better to join this team for G-league,, even we supporr and cheer but now one likes to join on Miami, no one like to negotiate and Patt is hard headed and full of pride, the End of God Father Era. Better sale this team.
