lil G he’s coming on back home to the buckaroos don’t snooze gary Trent Jr garius Trentavius June Bug there’s never in any doubt that brother is a buck he’s coming back two years $7.5 million and this is coming after uh Kevin Porter Jr 2 years 11 million so it’s like 6 million a year bobby 3 years 44 million so it’s like less than 15 million a year and then we got um wait I think that was it wait no Tori and Prince for basically like a minimum contract and I’m not going to lie y’all these are things of beauty and I’m a little confused as to why Gary isn’t worth much of anything i’m assuming he probably could have got a little bit more somewhere else he seems to probably like in Milwaukee and you know the opportunity i I I would at least expect that he could have got a little bit more but it doesn’t seem like there was like a lot of reports of teams like really wanting to get Gary Trent Jr and he’s flawed he’s flawed like his defense isn’t great it’s not terrible but sometimes it can be a little rough where he falls asleep off ball and he has like some dense moments we know game five of the playoffs you know it was great until it was some really stupid stuff and so you know he’s got a little bit of that in him just a little bit so I you know I get that but this is a guy that shot like 41% from three is not like some liability disgrace defensively and a guy that can put the ball on the floor and get you a bucket a little bit you know better than a lot of spot-up shooters can and so in a world where you’ve got Sam Merrill and Sam Hower making uh what is it eight figures 10 plus million dollars 12 plus million dollars um this is just such a phenomenal deal for the Bucks because Sam Merrill I respect what he did for the Cavs he moves a lot off ball he’s great for that system a phenomenal shooter but for my money I’m taking Gary Trent Jr over him and I’m almost definitely taking Gary Trent Jr over Sam Hower and he’s getting paid like a what like 3 million that’s like a fourth of what they’re being paid so this has just been a phenomenal off season so far for John Horst where you look at the free agency with the money the Bucks have left to spend with Giannis under contract obviously Dame Koozma still being under contract there’s wasn’t going to be like some massive move that they were able to make and you look at the guys that the Bucks could potentially trade like Kyle Kosma there was not going to be any decent deal for that and so the move had to be this off season get good contracts that can help you pursue bigger trades moving forward because we have like no assets and maybe you could get an asset in a packet trade by taking on a a salary dump or something like that and so you got to be open to that but other than that this has to be a pat a offseason of patience where you bring back guys that could potentially be a part of a championship re retool rebuild moving forward maybe next season maybe by the end of the season after the trade deadline maybe two seasons from now something like that guys that could potentially contribute to that kevin Porter Jr Gary um Bobby Poris but also guys that could easily be trade chips to help you get back assets to make a big trade you know what I mean cuz right now it’s like we’re sitting with the worst of a pick swap and then one draft pick in 2031 and hardly any assets to work with and so what John Horse has done is said “All right well if we want to be able to acrew assets to make a big trade when we are like one move away maybe this trade deadline maybe next off season what we could potentially do is package really cheap deals that teams would want to take um like Gary Trent Jr like Kevin Porter Jr maybe Bobby Portoris um even Tory and Prince we could bring in assets and that could help us facilitate another trade or even they could just be throw in to help us get off of the Koozma deal and help us be more uh flexible next off season so this works on multiple levels um for the Bucks just straight strictly as a player obviously it’s a huge bargain and he’s a guy that especially when you don’t have game scoring like he’s a guy that could easily get the Bucks 15 16 a game next year um fairly efficiently and not being a liability defensively so you know for the Bucks on the court it’s great um and yeah moving forward there’s no reason that he couldn’t be a part of a winning championship team yeah he could be dun a little bit at times but we’ve seen guys like that win championships we saw it with Bobby Poris we’ve seen in the past with J.R smith winning championships so it’s not like there’s no championship ability just because sometimes he could be he could be a little lackluster falling asleep and stuff like that um so yeah this is just phenomenal for the Bucks this off seasonason so far has been great and yeah right now the Bucks are not championship ready but there was no really no path for them to be after this off season but it’s possible that the Bucks are going to be a lot better than people think it’s possible that you know bring Ryan Ron’s back he’s has a little bit of a breakout maybe Andre Jackson starts to do something more um there’s the possibility Kevin Porter Jr really plays great and has the type of numbers he was having at the end of the season when Dane went out there’s a whole lots of possibilities maybe Tyler Smith comes out of nowhere to do something i like Tyler Smith and so there’s a whole lot of possibilities that could really change the fortunes of the Bucks and then you have guys that are just regardless of what happens based off their career they’re clearly on team friendly deals that will be positive assets in a world where you’re getting some guys that aren’t that good getting pretty big to real money like Sam Hower like Sam Merrill um some of the contracts we’re seeing it’s it’s big money even Alexander Walker he’s good he’s very good but like the type of money he’s getting it’s like over 15 or no it’s like Yeah it’s like 15 million a year o over 15 million a year and am I positive he’s way better than Gary Trent Jr i’m not he’s a better defender than Gary Trent Jr for sure but Gary Trent Jr i think is a better scoreer and a better shooter so um yeah for this type of deal it’s phenomenal and this is a guy that worst comes to worse like I said even if like we have AJ Green Kevin Porter Jr is playing phenomenal ryan Rollins has a breakout and it’s like if Gary at some point becomes not super necessary it’s going to be just a great asset like in the worst case scenario so yeah great job John Horst every Bucks fan I’m pretty sure is happy to have you back Gary i almost cried when the Bucks brought you in i’ve been a fan of yours since college no clue why you weren’t a first round draft pick back in the day you’ve been slept on your whole career he did get his money on that one contract with Raptors so it’s not like you know he’s living okay he’ll be fine um but yeah he continues to be slept on uh he’s better than this salary that he’s get getting signed for but as a Bucks fan we’re glad to have you back little gear
