Who should the Timberwolves’ TOP TARGETS be in free agency? | Joe Ingles is back, Luka Garza is not

hello and welcome in to another episode of Lockdown Wolves nba free agency has started and the Timberwolves are not completely sitting this one out we know of a couple guys that likely will not be back we know of a player that’s returning and we’ll give you a list of guys the Wolves may be targeting in free agency to fill out the roster now that free agency has officially begun it’s all come and welcome in you are locked on Wolves [Music] you are Locked On Timberwolves your daily Minnesota Timberwolves podcast part of the Locked On Network your team every day hello and welcome to the Lockdown Wolves podcast part of the Lockdown Podcast Network your team every day my name is Ben Beacon i’m the host of Lockdown Wolves today’s episode is brought to you by FanDuel right now new customers can get $150 in bonus bets when your first $5 bet wins happy Tuesday everybody happy NBA free agency of course didn’t start at midnight like it used to instead it started in the afternoon late afternoon early evening on Monday and uh the Wolves despite not really having cap space did a few things on Monday we’ll talk about all the moves that they’ve officially made to this point as of this recording on Monday evening as well as um what could be up next for Minnesota i’ll give you a list of guys that I think Minnesota could target to fill out the roster they’re officially as of right now two roster spots open and perhaps a little bit above the minimum in order uh that they’re able to spend to fill them so we’ll talk about all that here on the show today first though a big thank you off the top for making Lockdown Wolves your first listen every single day of course this show is free and available everywhere that includes YouTube as well as all of your favorite audio platforms wherever you like to listen to podcasts you can find Lockdown Wolves can also watch on the Lockdown Sports Minnesota app on both Roku and Amazon Fire TV all right so I’m going to hit a couple things early here like the so the Wolves moves that actually happened let’s talk about that and then I want to give you a list of names of guys that I would target if I were the Wolves and I think the Wolves may try and target to fill out the roster with and the headline as of this recording and I I recognize that things can change i thought about doing this live but then I was like I I want to have the ability to just kind of hit refresh here and anything crazy happens um you know I can I can take a minute to gather my thoughts and then uh and then jump back in um but I I am just kind of mashing refresh uh here on Monday evening with with Twitter and uh and and hoops rumors.com and everything um but the the the the headlines right now are that Nikil Alexander Walker remains unsigned and right before recording this Caris Levert reportedly agreed to a deal with the Detroit Pistons they were supposed to be one of the primary suitors for Nik Alexander Walker especially following the uh Desmond Bay acquisition by Orlando and of course the news with old friend Malik Beasley getting into uh uh some trouble um unfortunately once again for Malik and uh he his his situation is kind of in flux so Atlanta looks like the primary suitor for Nikil Alexander Walker there is a chance Minnesota could complete a sign-in trade where they get an asset back it’s not likely to be a significant asset maybe a a second round pick swap or a heavily protected second round pick or um maybe just a straight second round pick because Naw actually has quite a few suitors on the open market there just aren’t that many teams that can afford him into cap space so he could settle for a slightly lesser role with the team that has the mid-level exception available uh but in terms of teams with cap space it seems like Atlanta would be the uh the the the most likely landing spot for Nikuel Alexander Walker the other big things for Minnesota are we know that Joe Engles has resigned um and don’t don’t get bent out of shape about the reported 3.6 or 3.9 or whatever the the contract is it’s a veteran minimum so it counts against the cap the same as signing any other vet minimum guy would so whoever your favorite vet minimum guy is that’s what Think of that as what Joe Engles is getting paid he’s just been in the league for a billion years so the actual money paid to Joe is more than a guy who’s been in the league for three years but the cap hit is exactly the same so there’s no impact other than the roster spot um it doesn’t preclude which related it doesn’t preclude them from spending more than the minimum on their last spot my math tells me the Wolves have just a little bit over the the vet minimum to fill their they have two spots left and they have to sign one more guy to hit the roster minimum so there will be at the very least one more signing for Minnesota they should be able to spend slightly more than the vet minimum now we just don’t know um we don’t know all the specifics about the Nas contract and and some of the the likely incentives that count against the cap and some of that stuff um so like there’s a lot of there’s a lot of uh kind of minutia here so again the import the important thing is Minnesota has the two roster spots to play with they have to sign one more guy and they can’t afford much more than the vet minimum which means Nick Alexander Walker is not coming back unless Minnesota were to pull off a completely unexpected trade uh which is is really really unlikely so what is Minnesota going to do with those final spots also the reason why they have the spots available is because they did not accept the option they declined the option I should say on both Josh Minot and Luca Garza and and I was wrong on Monday’s show i I had cited a um a source that John Kruinsky had shared that was on Twitter that was saying that Minot would be back and nobody really knew on Garza the Wolves apparently declined both options and I was a little bit surprised because I think Josh Min I I I know I will die on Josh Minut Hill um and and and you can find plenty of shows i did a couple of like entire shows on why Minot would be a rotation guy and he failed when he had the opportunity last year and I I can’t really blame Chris Finch for not trusting him more last season i do blame well I shouldn’t say blame at this point i would have kept Josh Min because we’ll talk about some of the names that are out there and and you know who knows what the Wolves end up doing with the rest of the roster but I think Minott’s got a future as a rotation player in this league i don’t know that he’s going to be like I don’t know that he’s a starter i think he’s a rotation guy and I think he’ll play for a solid team and I hope for his sake he gets an opportunity on kind of a fringe playoff team that has a role for him i don’t want him to go to a bad team and necessarily play 35 minutes because I don’t know that that necessarily unless it’s like a one-year deal and he plays really well and he can he can then parlay that into being on a better team but I hope he gets like a a rotation spot he can play 25 minutes a game he could do Josh May not stuff which in my mind is rebound a lot offensive rebound play crazy defense get lots of blocks um and and just kind of dunk on guys and hopefully hit down knock down some corner threes um in the half court I I think he’s got a future as a rotation guy at the NBA level the other thing Minnesota did was uh they extended qualifying offers to both Jesse Edwards and Tristan Newton who were two of the three two-way players at the end of the year last year remember Minnesota signed Bones Highland to the final two-way spot they did not offer him a qualifying offer which makes sense um but they did remember Rockco Zakarsski the second round pick from last week at the draft he reportedly got a two-year two-way deal so he’s one of the three two-way slots the other two they offered qualifying offers to both Tristan Newton who was claimed off waiverss from Indiana uh like what Decemberish last year and then Jesse Edwards the undrafted big out of West Virginia who played summer league for Minnesota he was a five-year college guy i think three years at Syracuse two at West Virginia maybe four- one um and you know kind of a a Rudy Gobear archetype if you will um archetype not really not a lot else like Rudy Gobear uh other than he’s really tall and he’s a shot blocking big that you know isn’t all he’s that’s the type of player he is right um I don’t I don’t want to get too worked up about how they use their two-way deals because in for a contending team that has designs on an NBA championship the two-way spots are not guys that you think are going to have to play rotation minutes for you they are developmental or they’re break glass in case of emergency you could argue what’s Jesse Edwards because you’re not going to use him in emergency and he’s already like an older secondyear guy he’s like 25 so I don’t know i don’t really know but I also don’t think it’s that big of a deal tristan Newton would be more of a developmental type one as is Roco Zakarsski last year Bones Highland was more of a break last case of emergency at the end of the regular season because remember they’re not postseason eligible and also kind of throwing a bone pun intended to a Tim Connelly guy who he had acquired originally in Denver so that’s the two-way situation so sitting here right now Minnesota has two regular roster spots and they have one well yes one two-way spot available that’s what the That’s what the roster looks like for Minnesota as of right now um so what’s Minnesota going to go ahead and do um I I I want to go down a list of guys who I think they could target at the vet minimum or possibly a little bit more um so we’ll do all that here next today’s episode of Locked Wolves is brought to us by our title sponsors at FanDuel summer started all right so with two roster spots for Minnesota and at least one that they’re going to fill we we know they’re going to fill at least one roster spot and if the Wolves can spend a little more than the vet minimum who might they look at at signing i’m going to start with my favorite well actually no let’s do this let’s start with three guys who I think will want more than the minimum and I don’t think Minnesota will get but I wouldn’t even waste my time i wouldn’t waste anybody’s time wouldn’t waste your time with this if I didn’t think Minnesota had a shot at getting like at least a chance of getting these guys because Minnesota has contender status people want to play with Anthony Edwards people respect Tim Connelly and Chris Finch like like they check all of those boxes so you know it’s not quite like um well actually the first guy we’re going to talk about is Gary Trent Jr who signed for a minimum deal Milwaukee last year to try and chase the championship that obviously did not work out great he probably will not sign for a minimum deal this year but there are guys who have done this who have a track record of doing this if they think it makes sense and Minnesota could end up in in a situation like that right um and and to be clear what Minnesota’s looking to do is bring in a a point guardplaymaking somebody that can run the second unit potentially and a big and I should also say I understand that there’s concern among Wolves Nation about hey if they bring somebody in who is a name like a Gary Trent Jr that has a track record is going to expect to to play comes in minimum contract um does that mean Rob Dillingham doesn’t get to play well I guess maybe i mean ultimately that’s Chris Finch’s decision but it feels like Tim Connie and Chris Finch are generally on the same page and I don’t think like I I don’t I the job of Tim Connley is to put together the best roster possible period and one of the goals along the way should be that the roster obviously is synergistic with with each other the pieces are synergistic with one another and that he’s on the page same page as the head coach but you can’t sign a guy who’s a clear third string point guard and hang your hat completely on Rob Dillingham i mean you can do that but does that make a lot of sense and just be like “All right it’s Rob and Mike Connley like it was last year except for we ended up you know shrinking my Conley’s minutes as the season went on,” which made sense and not trusting Rob Dillingham and instead it’s just Nikquil Alexander Walker and um you know aunt running the second unit and Julius Randle playing point forward like that’s just the exact same thing it was last year minus Nquille and and they may do that or do you find somebody else that raises the floor of your top eight top nine remember you still have to replace to kill Alexander Walker and I I’ve made the argument Friday and Monday are you replacing him in the aggregate with some combination of Rob Dillingham in terms of the shot creation and TJ Shannon in terms of the wing defense and uh you know three-point shooting you know with size and and some of that piece of things so I I think that’s the plan right now but if you can bring in somebody that has a track record of doing some of this other stuff and raising the floor of your rotation like it’s hard to argue against that and and I sure the asset management wouldn’t be great if all of a sudden like Rob Dillingham’s just never playing but like dude was still a oneanddone guy who just spent one year on a contender and like it doesn’t mean his career is over it doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen um but it would be irresponsible to do to be like “All right let’s just let’s not even explore any of the other options here.” And I’m not saying that any of these guys are like the thing that’s going to propel the Wolves to the finals right um there’s a lot of value in running it back for the most part because and we talked about this on yesterday’s show um this team didn’t have like this was year one of Goar and Randall in the front court of Randall playing with Anthony Edwards there’s development to be had on this roster and upside beyond the 49 regular season wins clearly as they jelled over the course of you know uh March April into the playoffs to to all the way to the conference finals so there’s still upside to be had there um Gary Trent Jr let’s start there gary Trent Jr of course Minnesota guy um and and he’s got good size as as really a combo guard that’s even played some three in the league but he’s really more of a of a two that can initiate some offense he’s not a pure backup point guard he’s more of a scoring guard uh but I like the fact you could put him on the floor alongside a Rob Dillingham even potentially those guys could play together now defensively you know it’s it’s a bit dicey certainly in that scenario so I don’t know that they do a lot of that but you could do get away with a lot with Jade McDaniels and Rudy Goar on the floor as well so I like the fact that there’s a lot of upside with Gary Trent again I think he’s going to get a better deal a bigger deal than event minimum he’s a guy who shot almost 42% from three last year and a primarily a bench roll for the Bucks but he’s only three years removed from averaging around 18 a game for the Raptors and still shooting about 38% from three for his career is 39% from outside the ark again the defense is not good but the fact that he can do multiple things as a combo guard is attractive um not a great rebounder for a guard doesn’t get to the line a ton but there’s upside for him as a score as a high volume type guy in case you want some of that punch off the bench i do think he gets more than the vet minimum another guy in that same on that same list would be uh for for similar reasons would be Luke Canard i think Luke Canard gets more than the vet minimum as well he shot 43% from three last year he’s a career 44% three-point shooter the defense is not good for for him either and he’s similar size he’s not quite as big as Gary Tren i think they’re both listed as 6’5 but I think he’s a little smaller um and you know great shooter great offensive player um can initiate a little bit like he’s he’s had a track record of being asked to do a little bit of that maybe even a little bit more than Gary Trent he’s obviously not a point guard either again neither was to kill Alexander Walker um so there is there is something there from a from an assist rate standpoint he’s also a better rebounder than Gary Trent he’s maybe actually even a little bit more well-rounded than Gary Trent would be i do think he’s going to get he’s going to have interest above the the vet minimum um so I would not hang my hat on getting Luke Canard but he would be again a high upside um high upside combo guard off the bench and I know he’s what 20 he’s going to be 29 and so when I say high upside I don’t mean like he’s going to get better i mean um if he plays like he’s going to have a couple of big games a year you can count on him being a pretty high level score as far as bench scores go um and uh you know I I think there’s there’s something to be said for that and also the high floor there too for both these guys because they’re both really good three-point shooters another guy I’d put in the same category maybe a little more realistic and also I like a little bit less than both Canard and Gary Trent would be Spencer Denwitty he’s what uh three years older than Canard and and four or five years older than Gary Trent denwitt is not a very good shooter which is the primary concern he’s a little bit more of a higher volume kind of mid-range scorer which the Wolves don’t have a ton of and and I don’t necessarily think he fits what they’re trying to do size-wise he’s similar he’s also listed at 6’5 um and you know Denwitty at this stage in his career is not much better of a defender than either of those guys although I would I would argue he’s probably better than Gary Trent defensively he’s the most kind of pure point guard of of these three like he pure isn’t maybe the right word but he is a point guard like he’s he’s he’s a point guard that can play the two he that can play off the ball but he’s not a great three-point shooter so you’d want to pair him like you could pair him with a Rob Dillingham i think that could actually make some sense um again defensively you’re giving up something there certainly you’re giving up a lot there but Denwitty could be an option there if you wanted to uh if you wanted to have a bigger guard that is more comfortable as kind of a lead point guard off the bench he obviously played pretty significant minutes for uh Dallas last year primarily in a bench role and he could go back to Dallas i mean I’m recording this you know just a little bit ago D’Angel Russell agreed to a two-year deal with the Mavs it doesn’t mean Denwood is not going back there he split each of the last couple years with Dallas and Brooklyn dwitty always seems to find his way back to the Mavs um or Brooklyn for that matter i mean basically other than a stint with Washington and I guess with the Lakers briefly uh it wasn’t like last year was Dallas the whole year the year before he split the year between Brooklyn and the Lakers but he split three seasons half in Dallas he’s been to Brooklyn three different times like there’s there’s a lot of Denwitty with Brooklyn and Dallas but um I I think he ends up getting something not much more than the minimum um so I think there’s a shot at Spencer Denwitty next I’m going to give you my number one the guy who I would who I think is realistic that Minnesota could get for the vet minimum and I’m not going to worry about what if Chris Finch doesn’t play Rob Dillingham enough because we got to worry about getting the best players on the roster and the best fits and the guys who have the the right combination of high floor high ceiling um and I think I think I have the answer i think I have the guy who I would I would pick we’ll do that here next all right my number one pick for guys Minnesota could realistically find in free agency sign in free agency I should say who probably won’t need much more than the vet minimum for this year i could be wrong all it takes is one would be Malcolm Brogden hear me out malcolm Brogden hasn’t played a whole lot the last two years so nobody’s talking about Malcolm Brogden he only played in 24 games with the Wizards i know he was hurt but trust me he would have played more if it wasn’t the Wizards like um I get why he only played 24 games the year before with Portland he was he was uh only played 39 games started 25 similar situation banged up but you know look at the team he was on the year before he won six man of the year with Boston and was traded in that kind of surprising offseason trade uh from Boston to Portland malcolm Brogden is a really good player he’s a career 39% three-point shooter i know he was 28 and a half% last year but again uh really low volume like he only attempted 56 threes across 24 games last season but before that the year prior in Portland five attempts a game 41% the year before in Boston four and a half attempts a game 44% um he’s been above league average every season but three in his career and again 39% for his career he is a three-point shooter he’s also somebody who he’s kind of split minutes between point guard and shooting guard over his career and and he’s probably best cast as a scoring guard but he’s been a point guard like he’s basically played point guard when he’s been on the floor more often than he’s played shooting guard over the course of his career and I like him as Minnesota clearly doesn’t like these you know he’s a one he’s a point guard he’s a you know he’s Terrell Brandon right like they don’t want a guy who’s just a point guard they want somebody who can score a little bit as well mike Connley is obviously a bit of an exception um to that but like I don’t see Minnesota going out and signing a Taius Jones right like they they’re not going to do that they’re going to find somebody that can also score and play off the ball malcolm Brogden’s anam another example of a guy that could play with Rob Dillingham and I know they have Dante Danchenzo and I know they have T.J shannon I know they have Jaylen Clark but Malcolm Brogden’s proved it on a high level both on some pretty good Pacers teams and Bucks teams you know going back a few years not he wasn’t on the championship team but um some pretty decent teams across his career and then six man of the year with Boston just just two years ago and I think he can play off the ball next to Rob Dillingham now at this stage in his career with the injuries the defense is probably um we’ll call it ay without seeing much of him the last two seasons it’s hard to say and that’s why like there’s there’s a lot to kind of to kind of uh you know weigh here but I like the idea if Malcolm Brogden is anywhere near what he was even two years ago with Boston healthy on a good team we’re talking about one of the better passers out there um one of the better three-point shooters out there somebody who can score um probably not getting to the basket a whole lot uh at this stage but I mean he’s only gonna be 33 it’s not like he’s 38 like Mike Connley but he’s a scoring guard that also can run the point and he can play with Rob Dillingham he could play point guard he could play you know he could play point guard next to TJ Shannon he could be on the floor with Jaylen Clark and Jaylen Clark could take the tougher defensive assignment malcolm Brogden could run the point i think there’s a lot to like there it’s possible he gets paid more or like healthy Malcolm Brogden is more than a vet minimum guy but given the injuries the last two years there’s a real possibility he has to settle for something as a team kind of says “All right let’s see what we have here.” Which by the way if there’s still stuff he’s coming back from maybe not 100% like you start the year with Rob Dillingham you see how it goes right like you give him heavier minutes to start the year and if Brogden can play his way into shape or whatever fine like do that i I just think he gives you some options and he gives you a high floor for like if this guy’s healthy we know what he can give you um and he’s kind of the best like he’s a veteran presence who’s not Mike Connley Joe Engles on that end of things um so I like Malcolm Brogden a lot and the only rumor I’ve seen as of this recording is like the Sacramento Kings wanted to do a virtual meeting with him a Zoom meeting with him i haven’t seen much else from Malcolm Brogden in terms of like real rumors and I really do think he would be a really nice fit in Minnesota i think he checks a lot of boxes for the Timberwolves let’s talk about some kind of like last ditch type options that I think could make some sense um Bruce Brown I had on my list he already went back to Denver he hasn’t been there in a couple years but back to Denver um let’s see uh oh I guess this is more playmaking wings which by the way the Wolves are looking for a point guard and they’re looking for a big but we saw a playmaking wing and Kil Alexander Walker be the backup point guard last year a couple years ago kind of a similar strategy when they tried to do that with uh with Troy Brown and um I’m completely blanking on the other guy but they had a couple of wings that they that they were trying to do this with kyle Anderson basically played back a point guard so this isn’t out of the question bruce Brown is off the market um another Tim Connelly favorite who’s more of a three and then an actual playmaking wing but maybe a vet to fill the roster tory Craig keep an eye on him i’m not enthused about it but possible tory and Prince could fall under the playmaking wing category uh I thought he had a pretty good year with Milwaukee kind of fell out of the rotation well he was up in in and out of the rotation he is a vet minimum guy at this point but he can shoot the lights out still so I like Torian Prince i wouldn’t mind a reunion with him on a vet minimum deal and then another this is like a true wait and see because of the injury at the beginning of last year but DA Anthony Melton probably is a vet minimum because he’s he’s not going to be ready to play right away he’s going to work his way into playing shape but the upside there is immense as a as a um a wing off the bench so that’s a possibility true minimum guys that I’d keep an eye on as possibilities another guy with Denver history although I think he was post Tim Connelly sorry pre-Tim Connelly in Denver gary Harris um no I think he was with with Connelly in Denver gary Harris is a possibility as kind of a combo guard undersized scoring guard type guy again he’s like a true third point guard at this point and Don Wright would fall into that same category a guy who I’ve I’ve liked for a while and and I don’t mind as like a um you know last line of defense type player again they could do this and still resign Luca Garza at minimum and and I think they probably will that’s my guess is they’ll try all this stuff if it doesn’t work out you sign Luca Garza and Rob Dillingham’s the answer is your backup point guard you also could do both you could sign another guarding and still bring back Luca Garza and you’d be fine there i kind of think the Wolves are going to leave a roster spot open um they’ve done that the last couple offseasons keeps their options open it gives them an opportunity to to kind of see how other things develop and uh you know maybe even keep it open into training camp sign your exhibit 10 deals to get more camp bodies in and make sure everybody stays healthy see how other rosters shake out maybe there’s a trade down the road that’s a two for one you’re taking back two guys unlikely this year but possible or unlikely between now and the start of the season i said that a year ago look what happened in late September um that’s kind of how I think this is going to shake out i think Minnesota is going to go hard after somebody like a Malcolm Brogden maybe bring in somebody and then still bring Garza back at a vet at minimum as your fifth big you can certainly do worse garza is what Garza is he’s a a good scoreer he’s he’s he’s basically in a very different way what Bones Highland was at the end of last year and they didn’t need to use him this way but like if you’ve got that weird backto-back where you know somebody tweaks something and and uh uh somebody gets Ant gets suspended because he gets 15 technicals and uh you know Rudy’s back is acting up so you want to give him the night off or whatever and you just you’re probably going to lose but you’re like all right let’s see if Luca can give us 20 and 10 there’s a chance he can depending on the matchup because the dude can score he’s just not a great defender and if the shot’s not falling uh if if it’s a bad matchup if it’s a team that doesn’t play a big like a real center a true center you know like you don’t want to play Luca Garza against against the Thunder you just don’t but could you play him against other matchups yeah sure um so I don’t mind the Garza thing i don’t mind the Joe Engles thing i talked about that a little bit off the top but like not worth getting bent out of shape about the front office and the coaching staff knows the team better than anybody else if Joe Engles is that big of a locker room presence you’re talking about the 15th roster spot on a 16th roster spot on a on a team that he was on last year and and proved his value in the locker room so I don’t have a problem with it at all doesn’t bother me um I guess I understand if if you do but like your 16th guy is not going to play anyway uh with with with regularity at least i mean look at the end of the bench last year like PJ Doer was on this roster until January and uh and didn’t play any rotation minutes and and that’s fine that’s just that’s just what Tim Connelly likes to do and and find me a team that had their 16th guy play and needed him to play and was a successful team like that’s not a thing so like I just don’t think it’s I just don’t think this is a big deal either way all right I’ll be back if anything big happens we’ll do an extra pod on Tuesday but this is Tuesday’s pod posting late Monday um to get you ready and and by the time this post by the time you listen it’s possible a couple guys that I’ve mentioned are gone already but it’s fresh as of me recording it um and it’s out now on Monday night so enjoy the rest of Free Agency a big thank you for making Lockdown Wolves your first listen every single day of course this show is free and available everywhere that includes YouTube as well as all of your favorite audio platforms you can also watch on the Lockdown Sports Minnesota app on both Roku and Amazon Fire TV and there you have it i refresh Hoops rumors right as I’m signing off on the pod and see that Luca Garza signed a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics uh at a league minimum so he could have been in Minnesota at the minimum if they had if they had kept him with the team option but instead he gets another year of security and it as of this first report it doesn’t look like there’s a an option at all so he’s going to go sign with uh with the Boston Celtics for two years good for Luca Garza he’s uh carved out a nice career for himself so there you go they have an extra roster spot to play with outside of Luca Garza um seems unlikely that it’s Josh Mined at this point but that’s that’s kind of where we sit now a couple of roster spots we’ll see what happens u of course the Lockdown Wolves podcast is part of the Lockdown Podcast Network remember the Lockdown Network is your local experts on all the biggest stories once again I’m Ben Beacon this is the Lockdown Wolves podcast and we’ll catch you next time

Who will the Minnesota Timberwolves sign to fill out their roster? Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) gives his favorite free agency targets that could sign for the veteran minimum. Also, the Wolves re-signed Joe Ingles and said goodbye to Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Luka Garza and Josh Minott as NBA Free Agency began, and they brought back one of their two-way contract players as well.

  1. Ya need to get rid of fake mj aka c'Ant boy. "Only 23" and already gassing… 5 years in the league still 0 bball iq. Yall need a True Superstar. RIP

  2. The Spurs had a need and addressed it swiftly….with 2 top-tier players. Wolves are sticking with hopes and dreams as their plan for a 3rd West finals appearance. Randle should be our 3rd option behind 2 mid-20's scorers.

  3. I would have kept Garza over Joe Ingles in a heartbeat! And if I’m going to take a flyer on a guy who MIGHT be able to develop into a superstar at PG; I’m going hard after Dejounte Murray. I realize he’s recovering from an Achilles injury, but I love his speed game and he can facilitate at the same level as Elfrid Payton (who can’t score). Joe Dumars just might be willing to part with this injured asset for cheap.

  4. I'm kind of hoping they don't sign any more free agents so Finch is forced to play the young guys. I think we need them if we want to beat OKC. Honestly the Randall Colbert Nas Reid, Edwards, Dante de Vincenzo and Mike Conley grouping is not going to get it done in my opinion I must be inject some youth and energy

  5. Minott couldn't focus enough to play the way Finch wanted him to. When Clark did, Finch played him instead and it was over for Minott. I understand the fans' Garza love, but I am not unhappy he's gone. Caught on with the Celtics and because they are center-strapped, he actually might get to play.

  6. Things are happening fast. Gary Trent, Jr signed a 2-yr with the Bucks ($7.5M). Luke Kennard signed for 1-yr ($11) with Atlanta. Spencer Dinwiddie returned to Dallas on a 1-year contract. Tyus signed with Orlando. Malcolm Brogdon appears to still be available.
