Indiana Pacers extending Myles Turner to $30M deal is going all in behind a pair of sixes!
let’s talk about the Indiana Pacers all right miles Turner reportedly gets a three-year extension offer from the Pacers at a level of $25 million a year i don’t get it i don’t like rewarding mediocrity at the level it’s being rewarded here i don’t like a guy who in the NBA finals average 10 and4 and you could say I think it’s 10.4 and four and a half and and he’s going to make $25 million a year what the hell are we doing here he He is a a a a good shot blocker not a very good not a very mobile defender so I I’m not happy with this i would rather go invest elsewhere so you say “All right if not Miles Turner who?” I get it that’s a quick question it’s a reflexive question and it’s a good question to ask i don’t know i don’t think it’s DeAndre Aton i don’t like DeAndre Aton in that he’s gone to pay uh Portland and he hadn’t played a hell of a lot played like 40 games this past year not thrilled with that there is no real backup center on this team that’s ambulatory as we speak maybe Isaiah Jackson comes back from that Achilles tear maybe James Wiseman comes back from that Achilles tear and and they sign deals prove it deals and show themselves to be worthy of some minutes i get it i get your concerns but I don’t like paying maybe the sixth best player on this team $25 million a year and putting you in a position where maybe you’ve got to trade Benedict Mathan and or Obi Toppin those guys bald those guys are in ascension miles Turner’s in decline over the last two years two years ago in in 2223 Miles Turner was pretty damn good and then the year after not so good and the year after that not so good again i don’t want the Pacers to put themselves in a jackpot where they’ve got to pay a guy in decline big cash to play on this team and put Herb Simon into the luxury tax where he can’t do much other than what he’s already Done
Myles Turner likely to be extended, but it’s a strange move without upside.

I think he’s pretty useless, should have let him walk
Agree
U don't think it's a sign and trade? I do think they can get good value out of him n a trade deal. No way they sign him and keep him at the price. But a team will take him
16 pts, 7 reb, 2 blocks 1 steal with 48% and 40% from 3 on the season though. Solid numbers for a third option. Plus the box score doesn't show how he spaces the floor, or his screening ability. We're judging him on 7 games only? He shut Chet down in the Finals.
Dumb take. They would not have been in the finals without him. He just had a bad matchup against OKC. It happens to the best of them. Unless you have a suggestion for a replacement, just don't say anything.
Agree Kent!!!! This is an absolutely ridiculous front office and ownership. Fans don't approve of this at ALL!!!!!
I'm glad the Pacers kept Myles Turner but that's a lot of money hopefully Myles works on his game on the parts that are not efficient. Let's Go Pacers Let's Go Colts & Let's Go Fever 🤘🍔
Omg! That’s ridiculous!!!
Your takes on Myles always feel personal to me.
He's not a superstar, but he provides a nice mix of solid skills. More importantly, he has excellent chemistry with how the team plays. He's a willing and smart passer.
I don't look at something that is clearly working and blow it up because it could be better. I figure out how to make it better. Don't tell me Myles flaws, tell me the plan to improve by letting him walk. That's what I don't see-the plan B that improves the team. Myles walks….AND?
With Myles, even without Hali, this roster looks like a playoff team. If Haliburton's recovery is on the short side maybe they are even in a position to make another run.
For me to be persuaded that letting Myles walk I want to see them plausible replacement plan.
We don't get to the finals without Turner. Look at Bucks series. The Cleveland series. Even the Knicks series. I know he had a bad finals. It was always gonna be hard keeping this team together.
Turner has been a disappointment, in my opinion. Not worth the contrast.
Didn't he play the majority of the Finals with a respiratory illness?
Then get who Kent…. If not Myles … Who… Who's better?
Yeah I just think there is a better option in FA
I agree. He was the weakest link all playoffs. I would almost put obi at center and see what happens
Myles is a good compliment pieces but not worth $25-30 mil a yr. He doesn’t dominate any Center in the league.
I don’t like paying McConnell 50m over 4 years either when you could lose Mathurin or toppin
I think that's just what the market is ? 25 for a solid for just three years doesn't sound terrible, but idk NBA salarys like NFL
Peyton Manning is the GOAT! Here's hoping for a sign & trade with Myles, not only bc of the money, but also bc Pritchard and Buchanan do not miss in the trade market.
Hope it's either Gafford or Duren.
The Myles Turner fan club love Mediocrity. All three rounds of the Playoffs I said as bad as Turner is he provides matchup problems for all those teams. Then the Finals show up and I said this is a young team that Myles Turner should dominate and he gave us 10pts 4rebs.If Myles Turner would've given us center rebound numbers 9+ chances are Pacers are NBA Champs. This is a Pacers team that has so much depth that they don't need a high scoring center they need a center who can Post Defend and get 9+ rebs. This is the season that the Pacers should experiment elsewhere if it ain't Ayton try somebody else. This Pacers team right now is a 1st or 2nd round exit unless Mathurin,Nembhard, and NeSmith take gigantic steps.
I agree. Turner also didn’t do squat at the beginning of the season when the team had injury problems. He rides the best players’ coattails and only has good games when others do too. It is exceedingly rare when he’s the best player in a game for them. Turner is worth $20M/season MAX. I wouldn’t even give him that much. I’d MAYBE go $18M after trying to coax him into $15M/season.
Totally disagree
