Bulls in the long run i think this is a good move for the team moving forward if you were going to move one from Lonzo Ball this is the kind of move you wanted to see the Chicago Bulls go out there it’s not bad it’s not a bad start i wouldn’t expect too much more here from the Chicago Bulls you’ve covered a roster spot here but as I said the Bulls have gone out and they have uh uh um resigned Trey Jones to what I think is a phenomenal deal for the Bulls when you talk about a player that just fits what you want to do let me know how you guys feel in the comments on this as well i don’t know if you guys saw the short or not but I’m running here from Portillos i wanted to get live to uh to talk about this but uh I’m still uh still making some graphics over here so shout out to you guys in the comments as well appreciate you guys for tuning in and showing love man hit that like button subscribe to the page let’s talk about how the Trey Jones breakdown uh uh um actually fits with this team because I think that is the part for me with Trey Jones that I look at and as a player if you were going to keep anybody who you were able to bring over in the acquisition i thought Trey Jones was the one name that you had to leave this league with or had to leave this off season with and if we’re being honest as uh a lot of crazy news Denver Nuggets trading Michael Porter Jr to uh to the Brooklyn Nets for Cam Johnson very interesting there um if if we’re being honest though on on the Trey Jones signing you know this is a player who came in here after the trade at on February 3rd and that sent out Zack Lavine and that’s a piece that with him and Kevin Herder you could call this a win of a trade of course we know some of the things in the past that did happen that would make this a loss but I’m saying for where you’re at right now you could call this a win and I think the conversation you have to have at when he was a Chicago Bull when he came over to the Bulls 11.5 points per game 4.9 assist 3.2 rebounds per game and one steal per game he was incredibly efficient as a scorer for the team here 57.2% 2% from the field 88% from the free throw line and just gave you some really really good numbers his assist to turnover ratio improved in his time here in Chicago and so I think that that’s something where you really like to see a player like that who probably is going to slide in somewhere behind Josh Giddy here and that’s the expectation for me probably is going to be somebody who you look at as a as a piece who if Giddy goes down due to any kind of injury you can throw him right into that game and feel comfortable with him starting i think you also have to look at him as somebody who defensively you could talk about uh making an impact on the team as well there’s a lot of good here there’s a lot of good here if you’re the Chicago Bulls and what you’re getting from Trey Jones on this deal i think if you’re talking about a ball handler as well he’s somebody that you have to take a serious look at in the long run again I’m excited by this move i think this is a good move some people are going to look at this and say “Oh yeah you got Trey Jones that’s nice who cares what’s he going to really do for the team?” These are the type of moves that do set you up for whatever this free agency is supposed to be in 2026 that the Bulls make and these are just smart moves that keep you under the apron i have to give AK his flowers on this i have to give AK credit on this because these are the smart moves that allow you to go out there and make bigger signings or to be able to get a Josh Getty deal done but continue to improve your team i think when you talk about you know his his ability to fit in with just about any lineup you throw out there now especially with some of the defensive lineups you can utilize I think the fact that you now have Trey Jones coming off of the bench with the possibility of Io Dumo playing either the two or the three I think that’s going to open Io’s game up maybe he could focus more on being a scorer but also the defense now hey buddy defensively this defensive unit coming off of the bench you can have a lineup of Trey Jones Isaac Koro IO Dumu there that’s a really good front court or backcourt lineup there that I think is going to allow you to do some really good things defensively and improve your game and I’ll say this play a much more physical brand of basketball while still being able to go out there and knock down shots let me know again how you guys feel shout out to you guys for tuning in and showing love michael Agalar said “How much is Giddy going to sign for?” I would assume probably around 30 million that’s kind of where I think Giddy slots in at which is why you didn’t want to go out there and break the bank but once you moved on from a piece like Lonzo and you felt like you didn’t have you didn’t have that option to go back to that Well the first thing I said was “You cannot let Trey Jones get out of this building how could you sign Lonzo here and you’re going to let Trey Jones walk away?” To me this is a best case scenario from a lot of the bad decisions that we have seen AK make i think that this is one where uh to to me these are again like I said moves that elevate your bench unit moves that I think gives you some really good rotation flexibility alongside Josh Giddy like that’s a part you don’t even talk about right trey Jones shoots the three ball well enough that you could throw him out there alongside Josh Giddy as well and he could be somebody who impacts the game from that or if Giddy is getting hot from the three-point line right and he’s having one of those games and you want to use him more as a shooter than anything i mean like you can kind of play off of that now I don’t expect it to stay here but we did see him in 18 games with the Chicago Bulls shoot 50% from the three-point line that is one of the highest percentages of his career outside of his first year in the league he kind of has lived around that 334% uh three-point shot um he was down with the Spurs but again wasn’t getting a lot of time and when you saw him with the Spurs getting the same amount of minutes just about that he was getting with the Chicago Bulls he actually played 2 minutes less with the Bulls you saw better production you saw higher percentages you saw a young man that could give you anything that you needed and I think that’s something that the Bulls can always utilize uh Relentless Mikey said “Les P will.” Listen Mikey I’m always down for less Pill anytime that we can have anything with Less Pill sign me up for that shout out boss he said “Welcome back Trey this is a great move.” I do I agree i think this is a great move and I don’t expect there to be a ton more moves coming after this right i don’t expect there to be you know this this slew of signings one the Bulls don’t have a ton of roster space anyway trades would kind of have to be done maybe a sign and trade situation is something that the Bulls could still get involved in today this is kind of where you thought the team was going to go you knew they wanted to maintain flexible uh uh uh financial flexibility heading into 2026 and this is how you do it so I I applaud and by the way let me give a quick shout out to you guys in the building let me applaud you much i think the big splash splash for the Bulls is going to be signing Josh Giddy um I think they’re probably going to do I mean you’re probably going to have a situation where yet again you’ve got Nikolus on this team trying to move him at the deadline for a big man or something like that but it feels like you’re heading into this season with Nikovich as your starting five who knows where Noah S is going to fit in to uh to to this rotation right now i think Modis Bzelis I I feel like a lot of people forget Modis Bales is 16 and really good you know getting to boards um and you’ve got Josh Giddy you got a big lineup here in the starting lineup and I think having that defensive lineup with Isaac Auroro having having Trey Jones having Iodum having Kevin Herder off of that bench to create a spark on offense like I keep saying this and I know it it it feels very not true right now because of where the Bulls are at the Bulls have a great roster to add a star to you know what I mean like the Bulls have a great roster to go out there and add a star to i don’t know if they’re going to do it i don’t know if that is going to be the outcome i don’t know what their plan is or if they just think Modis Buzzel can become that star but you got a great lineup here to add a star player to and we’ll see kind of what they end up doing in the long run here baky said “Not going to lie Pat i thought Brook would sign with the Lakers not the Clippers lakers seem like a very interesting situation here with the whole LeBron thing and all that going on i wonder how much of that is playing in the free agency i don’t know if you saw the Dorian Finny Smith stuff before Rob Pelinka got out of there but uh or before uh about Rob Pelinka that that got out of there uh um you know after that but that is salacious shall we say that is one of those things where I when when you’re talking about he’s talking bad to other teams to drive his value down what are you doing uh I think the Lakers are going to grab DeAndre Aiden they could they could I I think that that that makes sense for the team still as well what is our cap space brother right now with this deal uh I think this would push us to 36.7 million over the cap we are still in uh um we are in that luxury tax zone but there’s going to be moves that that are going to uh probably be made to change that up right now and we are still well below that second apron we’re 42.1 million under the tax threshold um we’re 15 million under the first apron 24 million under the second apron so we’re still good capwise it’s just about the amount of uh who we want to go out there and and add to this team and the possibility of having to move some pieces off of this team to do that which listen you can’t put that above the Bulls as well you know what I mean you you you can’t put it and and the Bulls do have their their uh uh full level mid or full mid-level exceptions to different things that they can use this this off season but you can’t put that above the Bulls to say “Listen we’re going to move on from some guys dalon Terry thank you for playing the work version of our game baby.” Yo Julian Phillips hey it’s been fun baby this G-League about to be cracking for you like you’ve got a lot of pieces on this team that yeah maybe you have hope for him or yeah you maybe you want to see the upside from him but like if they not that dude now are they going to be that dude is who is Den Terry becoming you know what I mean i think that’s that’s always the big thing for me who Who do we see some of these Chicago Bulls becoming i think I I think uh I Dumu can be Alice Caruso that’s a reason to keep him i think that Kobe White can be a heck of a score as a number three option there maybe giving you uh tango Jaylen Williams who’s a good number three scorer that’s kind of I mean maybe it is Jaylen Williams honestly I think about it he’s not giving you the defense Jaylen Williams is giving you so that’s why I said not Jaylen Williams but like you look at a guy like that you know I can see something that’s going to be there of course Giddy and guys like that are are bigger in in that situation but like what what is what is Julian Phillips going to become what is Dalen Terry going to become what is you know like we’ve got these guys who move on from Adama Senogo yeah Javon Carter is getting his money he opted in he’s getting his money you know what I mean like that is what it is you can’t I can’t I can’t tell you that Javon Carter is going anywhere my boy javon Carter is going to be here until that contract ends um Winhor Brian Winhorse just talked about this said “I don’t mean this to be controversial it’s just true this is the beginning of the end with the Lakers for LeBron.” Wow clint Capella going to if you can find a superstar big that that’s that puts you in a better position look at the teams that are winning here yes there’s there’s some guards there um Shay Gilis of course coming in and getting the guard victory there but I think you’re starting to see the return of the big i think you’re starting to see the the tide turn for uh the NBA going back to the big man market where you need some bigs that’s one to me where if if I could have a star at any position first off I guess let’s let’s start here modest Bzelis I would rather have Modest Balis be the star I would rather have Modest Bzelis be the star because I think that that is something that opens you up to much more opportunities especially flexibility when it comes to this 2026 uh uh uh offseason that AK is gunning for here and if Musell has proved to be the star I guess whatever position you call him he’s a power forward he could play the big is he going to add moves to the bag is he going to be a face up guy is he going to be a back to the basket guy you know what I mean like those are the things for me that I that I believe that the Bulls are kind of putting all their eggs in that basket when you look at the moves that are being made when you look at how they you know how they’ve made some of these trades I I think everything right now is pointing to hey go out there Modest this is going to be your time to shine we’re putting everything on you we’re going to give you a team that can help you out but we want you to become that guy and I think that’s been explained to Modis and I think Modis has a guy like P will and I know everybody looks at P Will like he’s not talented p Will is incredibly talented that’s the problem he’s incredibly talented he don’t got this pete Will can run one he’s one of the fastest jump highest strongest uh uh uh um he ain’t got no move left or right but like I mean like he shouldn’t have to i should be able to go through you it’s not It’s here he don’t believe in that two dribble pull up that he got he don’t believe in that turnaround fake he don’t believe in that little float shot that he got he got to believe it he’s got to believe it you got guys on this team that believe in theirelves kevin Herder came here he believed he was perfect for this scheme uh uh uh Zack Collins came here he believed I’mma get this opportunity to go out there and play big and try and play it well um you know what I mean like Mus Bzelis is out here he believed he was supposed to be the starting power forward on this team and not Patrick Williams like you’ve got all of an incredibly quick first step trey Jones is somebody that can find you on that i think the fact that you have uh um Trey Jones on this roster now you can put IO into the starting lineup if if need be earlier and it offers you the opportunity to have Trey Jones as your bench point guard over having Io Duma as your bench point guard this offers so much flexibility to me um this is just and and again it’s a signing that you’re not excited about it’s just a good signing you know what I mean this that’s really all this is to me this is just a really good signing p Will didn’t like messing with the pecking order that’s true i I I think that is that also plays into it as well i do think that also plays into it as well um I don’t expect the Bulls to do too much else outside of signing Josh Giddy know what I mean like that’s tough dog free agent center Luke Garza has agreed to a 2-year $5.5 million fully guaranteed deal with the Boston Celtics that don’t that’s Yeah I get that that’s a good move you you you’re trying to replace Luke Cornette younger player hopefully a little bit more upside luke Garza really hasn’t panned out in the NBA at this point but you know what I mean he also Capella signing is interesting uh Yosi Goslin is reporting that the Rockets don’t have the space to make this deal rockets are either cooking up a signing trade with Clint Capella or are doing one with the Lakers for Dorian Finny Smith which would you be interested i I asked this last season and everybody was on my heels about it i was like “You got all these deals on the table you know you want to move on from Vu who knows what you’re going to get for him now probably a couple of second round picks would you be interested in a guy that’s just running the floor would you be interested in a guy that’s just running the floor like Clint Capella can i know he’s regressed i know he’s not the same dude but just to get off of the contract off of the money I was I was fine with with the possibility of doing that the Blazers paid DeAndre Aiden $25.5 million to buy out his contract oh maybe it won’t be the highest buyout oh hey bro i’m starving i I haven’t eaten all day so this the the fries was was right here and that was exactly what I was looking at um Bobby Portoris reportedly intends to resign on a threeyear $44 million deal yeah we knew that news already bulls should pack a V and Kobe and possibly the Blazers pick for somebody if they want to show effort in changing things well I mean listen you can’t just trade i don’t want to see the Bulls make moves just to make moves now I do want to see the Bulls make moves and the biggest problem Wow didn’t see that come atlanta’s trying to make a run here free agent Nquille Alexander Walker has agreed to a four-year $62 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks plus a player option and a trade kicker sources tell ESPN all right there it is right there but yeah I don’t want to see the Bulls just making moves to make moves like make moves because they make sense the Trey Young move made sense that’s why you That’s why you want to make that move hawks want to capitalize on Trey’s prime h I don’t know what the Hawks want to do i
