you know for a day where the Kings haven’t made a single move in free agency at the start of this free agency period it’s been a pretty crazy free agency for the Kings so far from Fred Catz reporting that the Kings did sign Dennis Shrruder to then nobody else reporting that no details coming out then you have Jake Laravia going to the Lakers you have rumors about Russell Westbrook coming to the Kings we know that Shruder and Westbrook and I believe Brogden as well all were on Zoom calls with the Kings that’s a nice detail that we know and then now it seems like Malik Monk is going to get traded for Dennis Shruder in some type of signin trade at least possibly so it’s kind of hard to to really know how to feel with all this i mean it one thing I know how to feel about it sucks that Jake Rabio went to the Lakers Kings finally got some wing depth and then oh there it goes it’s gone again so that sucks cuz I was a a massive Jake Larabia fan but with the whole Dennis Shruder situation like I like Dennis Shruder a lot as a player i think he brings defense and personality to the point guard spot which the Kings need and the Kings just need a point guard in general he’s a good playmaker he can score the ball and I actually do think that a Malik Monk swap could make sense even though I love Malik Monk and that would hurt just from a an emotional attachment perspective but Malik Monk just really doesn’t have a place on this team anymore with Zack Lavine being on this team the Kings need a point guard that type of swap could make sense the Kings would be getting off a longer term contract for a defensive liability an offensive player that the Kings just don’t need but then you get into the debate of why are you bringing in a veteran point guard in Dennis Shruder when you’re not really going to be competitive why not just go for a full rebuild and really the Kings are just in a position right now where they can’t commit to a full rebuild because of the contracts that they have they can’t get off the Lavine or Sabonis contracts they still have D Rozan’s contract as well and so getting off Monk’s contract would be something even though it’s not necessarily a bad contract the Kings are just stuck in a position because of the previous front office where they can’t really make too many moves this off seasonason unless some team is dumb and takes on a bad contract from the Kings and so unfortunately the Kings kind of have to just ride out this season being mid and Dennis Shruder is a guy who’s going to come in play the point guard position and hopefully help make guys on the Kings look good so that they can be treated because we need a point guard to just operate as an NBA team so hopefully Scott Perry knows what he’s doing
