This is a Generational HEIST for the Suns…

the Phoenix Suns just pulled off a generational heist in the second round making multiple moves today with Brian Gregory and Matt Ishbia once again behind the scenes cooking up and giving us something great as I alluded to earlier with them trading up in the draft they made multiple moves once again and in doing so have secured the player that they wanted someone on their big boards was a top 20 selection in which they think is going to fit perfectly into Jordan Aut system which they’ve been able to reconfigure some things from this Kevin Durant trade and buy those fans right back into this new alignment identity and culture that this team is going to to looking forward to set not only after draft night but into free agency and beyond so we’re going to dive in and explore what this pick means for the Phoenix Suns and how they got to this point to be able to select the guy that they wanted from day one we get into all that and more on this episode of Suns Digest i am Bruce Veles and you guys once again have been fantastic in the comment section like I mentioned let me know your thoughts down below the last video talking about the guy that we’re going to mention in Rashier Fleming with the Suns will select at pick 31 here already did absolutely fantastic so if you guys are really buying into him make sure to get strapped in because there’s going to be a lot of fun talking about this new wing without further ado let’s dive in and let me know your thoughts down below in the comment section how you guys feel but I’m asking how did they get this deal how did they get up to this point to be able to take Rashir Fleming well that’s what we’re going to break into as we all know Phoenix Suns were active on the phones today right and they were getting busy like I mentioned earlier in the video that we uploaded the Suns made a trade involving two future second round picks that they had from the Kevin Durant trade in a deal to go out and get pick 36 from the Brooklyn Nets but the net but the Suns and Brian Gregory were not done as they continue to have some more movement as they traded number 52 and 59 their original second round pick and the second round pick that they got from the Houston Rockets in the Kevin Durant deal another one one of those five for pick 41 from the Golden State Warriors so then the Suns had picks 36 and had picks 41 they then used both pick 36 like I mentioned from this deal to then trade up with two future second round picks to go up and get pick 31 the first selection in the second round here and the Timberwolves were having a sale on this pick trying to gauge where they wanted to drop below they didn’t want to go down to 52 59 similar to where the Suns were the Warriors were comfortable moving down there because they had had success drafting late in the second round and for the Timber and for the Timberwolves they didn’t still want to get a key impact player so they were down moving just a couple slots with getting some additional draft capital for the pick 31 and for the Suns like I mentioned this is going to be their selection as we all know the Suns war room right now is eyeing St joseph’s big man Rashier Fleming at pick 31 finalizing their research and scouting before making their selection at 8:00 p.m and John Gamidoro was all over this i want to give him the full credit i know I showed Sham’s tweets earlier and I didn’t show his but he was on the radio show as always today and was typing getting into some things right said there was going to be something big that was going to drop from this Phoenix Suns team to keep an eye out right they went to radio break they came back and right as there we saw Sham Sharia treat out that they traded out for pick 31 and that they’re going to get their guy Rashir Fleming and Gamble was alluding it to it all the way from the beginning similar to his talk about Malawak similar to his talk about the possibly trading up even before today he has been absolutely slam dunking all these reports and you got to give him the praise for doing that and like you mentioned the Suns had Rashir Fleming rated as a top 20 player on their draft board and many organizations around the NBA also did as well personally me I thought a guy like Rashir Fleming from my draft intel would have been a guaranteed first round pick i didn’t think he’d make it down to pick 28 potentially pick 29 if he was there at pick 28 or pick 29 I know the Suns would have definitely been salivating to take him so that’s why they felt today that they needed to trade up because they saw a guy similar to last year in Oso Gandaro who did slip and they moved up for him they did that similar with the guy in Rushier Fleming and I think this is very interesting for the Phoenix Suns because now they added some of that defensive pressure they added some of that size some of that length that they were missing last season that Jordan was talking about bringing in to to bring in for his new offense and his new defense to bring this new style of play and I’m really really bought in let’s get this clear the Phoenix Suns so far even though they still have more moves to make have changed Kevin Durant into common Malawak they’ve traded him into Mark Williams Dylan Brooks Rasher Fleming and Jaylen Green that is an absolute great job by Brian Gregory and Matt Ishbia and I’m sure there’s more moves up their sleeves right they still have to shed some salary to get below the second apron there’s still the uncertainty of Brad Beal and depending if he’ll be traded if he’ll be waved the contracts of Grayson Royce Cody Martin Nick Richards maybe even Oso Agodaro now with the log jamma center are potentially all out there on the open market and those are things to keep an eye on as well with the Phoenix Suns possibly into tonight but also into these next coming days going into free agency what was another key thing with Rashir Fleming is Shams just came out and said the Celtics who are sitting at pick 32 were going to take Rashir Fleming and the reason that the Suns jumped to 31 is because they knew that they were going to do that and felt like they wanted to get their guy and needed to get their guy and weren’t going to get him at pick 36 originally so they traded up to 36 found a way found a way to get up to 31 and now with getting up to 31 have 31 but not only that also have pick 41 from the deal that they did with the with the Warriors which took them from getting two guys at 52 and 59 who I honestly thought would be more of a G-League guys maybe guys for the Valley Suns or two-way contracts into a guy in pick 41 who they could still find that gritty point guard potentially another wing for this team and that is very very key going in on Rasher Fleming and why I think he’s a generational heist for this Phoenix Sun squad he’s an absolute home run pick at 31 essentially a second first round pick and a guy who can contribute from day one with his NBA frame with a 75 wingspan and consistent shot from 39% from his junior year and now not only just that with Suns people being interested in Sam Cooper but also people from other draft boards were high on Rasher filming from other teams as we look at this from Detroit with a guy saying that he’s a versatile three indeed wig 75 wingspan shoots 39% free three excuse me defensive space can start with Jaylen Durant as an anchor or with beef stew in for the Pistons so maybe this is a guy that could start alongside Mark Williams start common Malawak maybe not immediately this season but as a rotational piece coming off the bench or for the future for the Suns and also from the Miami Heat they were interested in him so with the Pistons and the Heat being kind of notoriously for having some pretty solid wings at least on the Heat side of things pistons have kind of struck in kind of weirdly but have kind of bolstered a good defensive culture if both people from those fan bases are high on a guy Rashir Fleming then the Suns were desperately high on him and that just goes to show you once again that his talent viewed around the league was also very high so I do think once again guy Rashir Fleming not only falling to the second round was absolutely perfect for the Phoenix Suns but the fact that they were able to change all these seconds and move all the way up was definitely definitely key and now like I mentioned they still have some more obstacles to move through because they still have to shed $15 million to drop below the second apron grayson Allen makes 16 million Royce makes 10 Martin makes eight and obviously Richards makes five it was a little bit easier with Velli Misich’s contract but now that they traded that for Mark Williams they have to find a other contract to potentially let go of so that’s something to keep an eye on like I mentioned with the Suns but ultimately this pick was a slam dunk i really really do like Rasher Fleming going to be diving into more film and breakdowns on what he can bring for this Phoenix Suns team and we’ll definitely have some more content relating around him and common model watch on what they can actually bring for the Phoenix Suns as these new young pieces but it’s going to be very very interesting like I mentioned the Suns also do have pick 41 here in the draft so if they do select at pick 41 you’ll get another video at that they make another trader or something like that we’re not going to make a video but we will talk about the trade with selecting their pick and if they obviously trade out of the pick then you unfortunately will not see me for the rest of the night but you will catch me tomorrow breaking down some other moves potentially with the Suns or if another trade comes through then you’ll see my face lots of things like I mentioned uncertainty revolving around this team it is draft night part two so definitely keep your ears open for Phoenix Suns as they still are definitely going to be active in my opinion on the phone still trying to shed some salary on a night where all the teams are definitely interested because they’re making these picks so let me know what you guys think down below in the comments section what do you guys think of Rashir Fleming i think this is a great pick for the Suns let me know what your intel is and I’ll catch you guys on the next one have a great rest of your night and go Phoenix Suns

  1. Bruce, sorry to tell you this, but it doesn't matter who they draft because they're most likely not going to play them the way that they need to be played to develop them. The d-league and the NBA are two totally completely different things. Sending the younger players to the d-league doesn't develop them cuz they're not playing against NBA talent. They're not being put in the moment that they need to be in to be able to handle it. The team needs to not play seven or eight players each night. They need to actually go to the 9th the 10th every single night so that they don't run down the better players and Devin Booker towards the end of the season when it matters the most to make the playoffs and so that they can actually do something in the playoffs and not have a first round exit.

  2. Bruce, we love you, man, but just some constructive criticism turn the hat around. You’re not a kid.. take the channel to the next level. 😊

  3. Like wow when were we this excited after a draft before this one ? Great draft by BG and the rest of the FO and you know what they probably aint finished dealing – Beal, Grayson, Royce, Richards Gone ? Laterz Tyus, Bol and Plum ? Feels like a rebuild
