Everything Just CHANGED for Miami Heat (Bucks MELTDOWN) | Giannis & Dame SOON?! — Free Agency Day 2
So, after a quiet start to free agency yesterday, business has picked up in day two as our local South Florida team is finally making moves. You had the Miami Dolphins trade for AllPro Minka Fitzpatrick yesterday and then today they trade for former Pro Bowler Darren Waller and then the Florida Panthers with the GOAT Bill Zo. They continue their salary cap wizardry as they resign both Brad Marshan and Aaron Eggblad to join Sam Bennett who just resigned a couple days ago. Oh, y’all clicked on this video to see what the Miami Heat did. Oh, no, no, no, no. The Miami Heat don’t make any moves. They they did absolutely nothing. Nothing at all happened that impacts them. uh at least not directly because there was a lot of moves that the Milwaukee Bucks did today that really set the NBA world on fire as it seems that they may have hit the panic button. So, in today’s video, we’re going to get into all of that along with how it impacts the Miami Heat because there’s a lot of connections going on there. Keep in mind, I’m recording this video at about 1:30 p.m. on July 1st, and there seems to be breaking news every minute, but it kind of slowed down a bit now, and a lot has already happened. So, I kind of want to get into everything that went on today. It all started at about 11:00 a.m. when we got a Shams bomb. Is that racist? We’ll go with Shams Wow. I never know what to call them. uh when we got a shams wow that Miles Turner was signing a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. An absolutely stunning move because I never thought that he would leave Indiana. I mean just yesterday we talked about the the Heat situation going into free agency. We looked at a list of all the free agents and I just skipped over Miles Turner because I I literally said in that video there’s no way that he would leave Indiana. But here we are less than 24 hours later. He’s a Milwaukee Buck on a 4-year $107 million deal, which is only about 26 to $27 million a year, which I think is great value for the Bucks. I mean, Miles Turner is still going to be getting paid less than a lot of starting centers. That’s not a lot of money for someone of his caliber. So, immediately I was thinking that, hey, maybe Miles just didn’t want to go back to Indiana. But that wasn’t the case. The reports came out that he actually did want to go back, but the Pacers refused to offer more than a three-year deal of about $20 million a year. Apparently, they were worried about going into the luxury tax and passing the first apron because they’re a team that that never does that. But that’s stupid. You just made the finals. Now is not the time to sell. I saw Brian Windhor say this on ESPN and I completely agree. He said that if he was Seakum or if he was Hallebertton, he would be absolutely pissed. H how do you just make the finals? I know Miles Turner didn’t play a lot in the finals or especially game seven, but he was a key component to during that entire finals run. He’s had a really great last couple of seasons there. And it’s funny to think about that. He was one of the main trade rumor guys for the last five or six years. And he never got traded. He stuck it out and was on a key component to a team that just, you know, was one game away from the NBA finals. And now he leaves in in free agency after all that because the Pacers didn’t want to retain him. They didn’t want to pay him to stay. And and now not only does he leave, but he goes to another team in the division that you guys just played in the playoffs. Oh, what a stupid cheap move from the Pacers to not retain Miles Turn. I just I I don’t get that at all. Hey, it’s me, Pat Riley, and I’ve woken up from my slumber because I realized you didn’t like the video and subscribe yet. So, make sure to do that for me so I can get some rest. Thank you. Now, for the Bucks side of things, I think it was a great pickup. They just lost Brook Lopez to the Clippers, aka the Los Angeles Retirement Home. I don’t know what the hell that team is doing, but obviously Miles Turner is a similar type of player in terms of a floor spacer that can also provide some nice size inside. Uh, and he’s a lot younger than than Brook Lopez. So, from that aspect of things, I think it’s a great pickup for the Bucks. Is it enough to convince Giannis to stay? Maybe, maybe not. But pretty much every move the Bucks make in theory, you know, their their goal is to convince Giannis to stay. Uh, but I I don’t know if that’ll be the case because every other move they’ve made this off season has kind of been blah. I mean, they’re basically just bringing back everybody outside of Brook Lopez. They resigned uh Kevin Porter Jr. already. Decent player, terrible human being. Uh, they resigned Torian Prince, whatever. You know, they resigned Bobby Portoris, who I do like. He’s the one guy I kind of wish the Heat maybe could have got in. Uh, they also resigned Gary Trent Jr. on a on a cheaper contract. So, it’s like their whole plan was, “Oh, we promised Giannis that we’re going to make our roster better. Also, the Milwaukee Bucks, resign everyone that was there last year, you know, after the Miles Turner trade. Really, the only different thing they did is they signed Gary Harris, you know, like these are a bunch of nothing moves.” And then they did have another trade that that just completely stupid to me. They also traded Pat Conetan and two second round picks for the uh to the Charlotte Hornets for Misich. Why the hell would the Bucks do this? I don’t know. Both Meeich and Coneton, they basically have the same contract. They’re both expiring deals. The only thing the Bucks do in this trade is shed about a million dollars cuz that’s how much more Conetan is getting paid than Misich. So maybe they needed to do this in order to clear up more cap space for Miles Turner, but trading two second round picks to shed a million bucks, oh that’s a steep asking price. I that’s that is not good value for the Milwaukee Bucks. So I don’t know what the hell they were doing there. Uh, but of course that wasn’t even the main crazy thing that happened after the Miles Turner signing because it was only 15 minutes later that we got another Shams wow which was Damen Lillard was being released by the Milwaukee Bucks. I guess this is something the Bucks definitely had to do in order to retain Miles Turner. Uh, I I thought it was a bit of a harsh move to let Dame go after the hell, you know, season that he had last year with the blood clots and then he came back, tried to play through it, and then he tore his Achilles and just an overall gut gut-wrenching season for him. You hate to see it. I know Mark J. Spears tweeted out that we shouldn’t feel bad for Dame. Sort of a win-win situation since now he gets his money and he gets to become an unrestricted free agent to go wherever he wants to go. I don’t necessarily agree with that because Mark mentions that Dame would have opted out of his player option next year, too. I don’t think so. It would have been about $50 million. I could have seen Dne taking that, especially now that he got injured. Uh, but I guess right now, uh, in this situation, you know, he didn’t know he was going to get waved, but now that he is waved and stretched, he still gets all that extension money just over the course of 5 years instead of the two years that his original extension was. Plus, of course, like Mark mentions, he is a free agent, so he can sign somewhere else and then continue to stack on more money on top of that. I also did see a Sam Amik article that says, you know, that his sources told him that Dame is happy with the situation cuz now he can sign with a contender of his choosing. So, I I suppose Dame is happy. So, I’m glad it ended up all working out for him. As far as Giannis, a lot of people initially saw this and said, “Oh, well, Giannis definitely isn’t leaving now because now he’s happy.” I didn’t really see it that way. I mean, yeah, Miles Turner was a good pickup. It’s the only pickup that the Bucks did. But even then, it’s not like he’s Drew Holiday or Damen Lillard, the last two guys that the Bucks signed, you know, the last couple of times when they had to convince Giannis to stay, they made those major moves and Giannis is like, “Okay, I’m happy now.” I don’t think Miles Turner is that. Then on top of that, as Yasi Goslin points out, the the Bucks waving dame, that means that they now have 22.5 million of dead money on their books for the next five seasons. Meaning that every year for the next half a decade, they just have $22.5 million going to nothing. That’s clearly very very bad. When you talk about the future of of building your team, that’s just a terrible thing to have. I mean, from a heat perspective, I remember how much it hurt when we stretched Ryan Anderson. Y’all remember that back in the day? And that was just we had to stretch $5 million a year over three years. I remember we also traded Josh McRoberts for AJ Hammonds and then waved and stretched him and that meant we paid him a million dollars over four years. But these are small amounts of money compared to the $22 and a half million dollars of dead money the Bucks are going to have for five years. That’s just insane. So I couldn’t see why Giannis would be thrilled knowing that. And then sure enough it was about 20 minute minutes after Dame was waved. Chris Haynes came out with a report that said this. Milwaukee Bucks star Jiannis Denkumbo is not pleased with the team’s decision to wave Damen Lillard. And that is the one that got everybody going crazy. I did see Barry Jackson uh send out a tweet shortly after this saying that ESPN is refuting this report and that Giannis is actually happy, but I haven’t seen any quotes or clips of of that report. I certainly haven’t seen Chris Haynes recant his statement. So, I don’t know who to believe because Haynes is a very reputable reporter. He’s also Dame’s close friend, which kind of makes this whole thing weird. Is he trying to save face for Dame, saying that, “Oh yeah, my friend Dame, Giannis is not happy. He’s waved.” Cuz that would be just kind of a weird situation. Or is ESPN trying to save face for the Bucks? They have a lot of reporters over there that are puppets for these franchises, and maybe the Bucks sent out, “Hey, uh, no, Giannis is happy because they don’t want to lose all leverage in a potential Giannis trade.” So, who knows who’s trying to save face for who here. We’ll just have to wait and see how the Giannis stuff plays out. Barry Jackson did note that the Heat are not actively pursuing Demar Rosen or Jonathan Kaminga as of right this second. And I suppose that’s because, as we heard yesterday, the Heat are still holding all their chips for Giannis. So, it would make sense even after today now that there’s some more Giannis rumblings rumblings why the Heat might stay even more quiet in the free agency or trade market. But to me, it’s still kind of dumb to make Giannis your plan A. It’s just such a pipe dream when you compare our assets to the assets of the Rockets or the Spurs. The Heat virtually have no chance unless Giannis says Miami or Miami only and then even then the Heat just have like a 1% chance. So, kind of a stupid plan for me, but that is the Heat’s plan as of right now. As far as Damen Lillard, though, that is a guy I do believe the Heat have a real shot at. Anthony Chang and Tim Reynolds, a couple of local reputable reporters. They are noting that the Heat have interest in Damian Lillard. I just saw Chris Haynes on NBA TV say the same thing. He said Dame might also have some interest in the Heats as well as a potential return to Portland. I know a lot of Heat fans are excited about that. Uh, even Will Manso tweeted out that it would be a no-brainer for the Heat to get Damen Lillard. And I don’t really agree with that. I I don’t understand why so many people are in on that. There’s a lot of reasons now why I don’t think the Heat should pursue Dame unlike a couple of years ago because now Dame is older. The Heats are not a contender anymore. They don’t have Jimmy Butler. And Dame is hurt. He’s going to miss an entire year. Can you get Damen Lillard on a two-year contract for cheap and then maybe you’d have Dame on a good value contract a year from now when he’s healthy? Maybe. And maybe at that point the Heat are in a more competitive spot. Maybe we’re able to trade for another nice player by then or use some of our cap space in 2026 to get a pretty decent player. And then you bring them in, you bring another first round pick in next year, you bring in Damen Lillard, and now you have a team that could maybe make some noise in the East a year from now. I I don’t know, but I think Dane might just be better off staying a free agent for this year, rehabbing, collecting his $22.5 million, and then signing a bigger deal next off season when he’s actually healthy. But then again, how big a difference is that going to make if Dame holds out for a year? because who’s going to give him a good a big contract next year when they haven’t seen him play basketball in a year? So, if that’s the logic, I could see him saying, “Hey, let me just sign a two-year deal right now. That way, I could rehab with whatever team I end up signing with.” So, I could see it going either way, truthfully. Either way, though, Dame does get paid. He’s going to get his money whether he signs with someone else or not. So, that’s where things stand for the Miami Heat today. Uh nothing changed since yesterday. Still got one roster spot open. still got $14 million under the luxury tax. They’re still actively shopping Andrew Wiggins and Terry Rosier. And of course, they have to decide what they want to do with Duncan Robinson. Whether that’s ressign him or find a signing trade uh for him to go elsewhere, or maybe he just leaves on his own. I don’t know. But that’s really all we got to say for the Miami Heat right now. Make sure y’all like the video and subscribe because your support is greatly appreciated. Comment down below if you want the Heat to actively pursue Damon Lillard. Very curious to hear what y’all think. And I’ll see y’all in the next video. Peace out, everyone. Up in your city trying to get that dead face. Do it on my own. I don’t need no dead weight. Had to kill them off. Yeah, I need a head space. You know this homegrown don’t offend me.

You are the Best my Friend hahaha
I personally think that anyone that truly believes Giannis is coming here has the IQ of a goldfish… He's never going to come out and say he's glad they dumped Dame. Giannis is very smart with the media he gives them exactly what they want so they get their clicks.
it makes sense for Dame to come to Miami even if it means he will be on the sideline for a year, he might even accept the vet minimum since he already is getting his salary still from the bucks, you can sign him to a 2 year vet minimum deal and still go out there and grab one more person. I think it would be dope to have him on the team especially since him and Bam are like best friends
Thomas Bryant going to be starting 😂
If we don't get Dame would you consider trading Bam? Maybe to the Pacers since they just lost Myles Turner. Trading Bam to Pacers for Benedict Mathurin, Toppin, and Draft capital. I don't know if those salaries matches. Start over young, just a thought.
GO TONY GO …
… HIT THAT HEAT / NBA OFF-SEASON RUMOR MILL !
Jesus Christ, all these torn Achilles from 2024-2025 (even Dru Smith's) changing NBA history in a big way. Sucks to be a Celtic, Buck, or Pacer right now.
Incidentally, since Myles came up… a little TRIVIA: … In the draft where we grabbed Justise Winslow INSTEAD of Devin Booker, … MYLES TURNER was also available for us. I'll never forgive the 'Hot Hot Hoops' community for convincing me Justise "the next Luol Deng" Winslow was a better option than Booker. Turner wasn't on my radar like Booker was but I do recall having objections with Hassan's brain then (sorry, Tony). I would not have minded selecting Turner in that draft.
This is the funniest and most entertaining heat channel
This is the perfect time to sign dame hes perfectly able to recover , dont sleep
I would say go after Dame. Yes, he won't play for this year, but he'd be a great mentor to Kasparas and the other young guys. Dame is also Bam's best friend, and the PnR would be insane with the two. Also, getting him on a very cheap vet minimum deal WHILE he's getting paid 22.5M/year by the Bucks AND gets to be in Miami, sounds like a win-win scenario for Dame. Plus, you can sign more players if they sign Dame on a vet minimum, which helps the Heat in that aspect.
I know it sad
But isn’t risky to get a player with blood cloths ? Like what happened to Chris Bosh ?😊
Joe Cronin just saved you guys $113 million. Thanks Joe for saving the Heat from themselves.
08:45 – Aren't we, in a way, painfully HOLDING and STRETCHING Terry Rozier now at about $24 million/year? … Also, while his blood clot issue concerns me more than his Achilles, I'd take Dame on a 2-year vet minimum while rehabbing. Let's see what he has to offer in 2026-27 !
“Shams bomb, is this racist?” Lmfao, that shit made me lol
When the heat say they’re holding out for a superstar its just to give them an excuse for running it back
Everything is going as planned. We’re not competing this year. Let the young guys work, trade our expiring contracts for young players on our time line and assets. Wiggins has value. Hopefully the lakers take Wiggins for Rui and fillers. Rui Is a good, young player on our time line and also an expiring contract. All this and a couple of our young guys solidify themselves as the future of the franchise, then we make a trade for a superstar #1 option. Bam or Herro will be part of that trade. Hopefully Herro but probably Bam. We haven’t signed marginal vets for no reason so that’s a good sign we’re going this route.
I might have gotten ballsacksported but apparently Chris Hanes is giannis's cousin in law
Heck NAW!! They got a good deal for a young 2 way elite role player
Sign him to a veteran minimum.
Let him rehab and mentor KJ.
Remember this, Chris Haynes is the cousin of Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s wife Giannis Technically is his cousin in law
Yawn….Heat hasn’t done anything since trading for Jimmy buckets. Lillard…yawn…Durant…yawn…Kuminga….yawn. You wake up and Heat still ain’t done squat.
No more reclamation projects. Injured and aging Danny Granger, Greg Oden and Victor Oladipo are past examples.
Vende humo MiamiHeat no contratará a nadie
Sure that's pat for you NOTHING DONE.
They're not going to give Myles Turner no kind of f**** extension when he look like trash in the finals
You funny asl 😂
Definitely once Dame is healthy Get Him 🔥
Yo that “ To Do “ on the wall had me 😂😅😂🤣😂💀
Its hilarious that everyone wants Giannis to leave Milwaukee so bad. He aint leaving! He's the top dog here and will not play second fiddle to anyone. Keep hope alive! 😂😂😂
The sleepy pat cameo 3:45 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💦💦💦💦💦💦👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Dame would be rehabbing so he wouldn’t have the time to be around the rookies. I don’t know why y’all think injured players just hang around the team all day.
trade hero and wiggins + JJJ for Gianis. rozier trade for mcullum or AJ jhonson..
Heat trade Duncan Robinson for Simone Fontecchio …
… someone light up the ANT signal for an Emergency Video !
