MASSIVE Kuminga Update… NO ONE Saw this Coming… | Warriors News

Folks, we have a Jonathan Kaminga update from NBA reporter Chris Haynes. And it’s probably not the update update, excuse me, that you expected that I expected, but it makes sense as we’re in day two of free agency and how everything is playing out. We don’t have a lot of salary cap space. He’s getting $105 million plus from the Bucks and do nothing. He’s getting waved. He can sign a veterans minimum and come to the Warriors potentially backup point guard coming off of Achilles injury for Steph Curry. Not bad. Massive trade for Giannis. Love it, but it might be harder. And one of the reasons why we may be getting to where we’re at is because of all that’s happened in free agency and the money that’s not there anymore. So, Chris Haynes on NBA Today or NBA uh the NBA channel, excuse me, said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if he being Kaminga betted on himself and just accepted the qualifying offer to go into unrestricted free agency next summer. I don’t see him taking below his value. He believes that he can play in this league.” As a friendly reminder, I don’t think I have it. I got rid of it. Kaminga received I don’t have it. a $7.9 million qualifying offer. He is a restricted free agent for 2526. He accepts it. He is an unrestricted free agent for 2627. Can go wherever. And a lot more NBA teams will have restricted, excuse me, will have salary cap space to sign 20, $30 million players next off season. More restricted this off seasonason with how everything’s played out. And maybe that’s where we’re getting to because if we look right here, folks, let me pull this up. If JK was about to get a big enough offer from another team to really fire the starting gun for the Warriors offseason, it probably would have happened yesterday and didn’t. Per a refutable, very trusted Bay Area reporter Tim Kakami and Marcus Why as it makes sense potential higher value than yet to be real realized potential. The older he gets, less likely becomes he fully blossoms. I mean, folks, he’s 22. Relax. Relax. But JK has extreme confidence in himself. Extreme confidence in himself. Yes, he didn’t play a lot towards the back half of the season. He had did not play coaster decisions, but he expects to be 20 $30 million type of player. I’m going take myself big for a second. You remember last year, folks, we talked about JK wanted 30 35 million in the offseason. Warriors didn’t budge and he went into this year as a restricted free agent. Now it’s lowered a bit 25 million. However, it seems like the Warriors maybe aren’t budging. If he comes back at $7.9 million and this is a player who comes in and out of the starting lineup, bench scorer, six-man type of player, that’s a pretty good deal bargain for the Warriors. And if he earns it, maybe you sign him back after. If not, he walks away and you lose out. But it seems like this marriage warriors done nothing in the nothing literally in free agency so far. We talked about this on the video yesterday. Miles Turner is now gone folks. Brook Lopez is now gone folks. Wagner is still there. Aiden’s still there. Horford is still there. And I saw a lot of people talk about, hey, if that’s who you’re getting in free agency to pair, is that going to win you a championship over AKC? OKC. No. Small Ford Kaminga is winning 20 million. Well, qualifying offer 7.9. Doesn’t seem like he’s getting 20 million. Dennis Schroeder just got uh three years 15 million per year, 45 total. So, I don’t think he’s getting 20 million a year, especially as all these teams are signing players. We’re just waiting. We’re waiting. We’re waiting. And this is ESPN projections. If we go to our free agent tracker, I’m trying to give you guys the landscape here. And comment your thoughts. Do you like when I do stuff like this? Do you don’t? Like if we look at um all positions guard where Kaminga plays not a lot of players left around. Malik Beasley don’t want to touch that right now. Reese Beman who we traded over was a rookie for us last year was a part of the the Anthony Melton trade. So you’re seeing folks not a lot of players there. Seth Curry still out there could go get as a guard play. I know some people in the comments have talked about that. Not a lot happening. This isn’t as updated as I would have liked. I’m going to go here. This is better for us. Got to refresh. You never know what happens. But again, you’re seeing like Dennis 3 years 45 million. Players are getting signed. No one’s getting that 20 million per year. 12 million a year. A two year 12 million. That’s 6 million a year. True. There’s 15 million a year. Gary Trenton Jr. two year 7.5 that’s three basically three million. Doesn’t say what Clarkson’s getting. Plumbley one year 3.6 million. Canard one year 11 million. So Kaminga getting 20 million is probably not going to happen folks. But if you look at what that’s happening him getting 7.9 million for one year, bet on yourself and go make it happen. It seems like it’s something that could be very effective for him. Now the question is does he want to come back to the Warriors? This is what we have. If your starters are right now it’s Curry, Butler Green, Moody healed. Excuse me, not healed. Um, PJsky, Pajki one, Curry 2 are switch butler three. Uh, excuse me. Moody three, green four, Butler. Oh my god. Let me restart this. I apologize y’all. BP and Curry could be a one, two, Moody three, Butler four, green five. Now maybe you want to go bigger. Quint to post five or four. Green at four or five. So you see these combinations. We need a center. We need a three and D wing player. But a lot has not happened that the Warriors haven’t done. And that’s where Kaminga coming back can be a punch. Does he want to play under Kur again? But there’s not a lot happening on the market for him. So that’s it’s tough. Now, I do trust Chris Haynes. And he also talks about like he went to Miami and saw Kaminga workout, had some great workouts, and he just could see the aura and the confidence that he has in what he does. So, it’s very important to understand that Kaminga believes in himself a lot. We talked about he idols Kobe, wants to be that type of player. High regard. Now, is he gonna get there? I mean, Kobe was a uh champion very quickly. So was Kaminga, but Kobe was the guy in LA after his first year, him and Shaq, of course. So potentially, u everyone has those goals, but I don’t think Kaminga is going to get the Kobe status, but he could be perennial all-star. needs to do better at defense, needs to become a better spot shooter, needs to do a better job at, you know, we heard some reports of him pouting, not playing, whatnot, but when he came in against Minnesota, he did a great job. The Warriors right now, this is where they’re at. Is Kaminga getting $20 million? I don’t think so. So, it seems like potentially that 7.9 million qualifying offer. Pretty good deal. one year. Obviously, you don’t get the future. And maybe a team’s offering him three years, 15 million, five per year. That devalues what he thinks he’s at. He will wait and see what happens. And then move forward from there with the qualifying offer and take unrestricted free agency next year. And if the Warriors work out, great. He can come back. If it doesn’t work out, then Kaminga can go off and not have this uh qualifying offer from the Warriors or restricted offer. Comment your thoughts, subscribe, and we’ll see you on the next video.
